It had come, after years of wandering Spira it had finally happened. Jordan had grow bored of it, like a walk down to the shops it no longer seemed really traveling, seeing beautiful places. It was hard to find somewhere Jordan hadn't passed through and he wanted more.
Traveling to Luca Jordan saw an opportunity. Walking into one of the port town's Bars the Cetra sat at the Bar and ordered a drink. Nothing alcoholic though as Jordan was very unused to it. Jordan Just needed to find out some info about someone who actually left Spira and Knew of the big, wide would out there.
Luckily this want was quickly filled as such a man, or who claimed to be as far as the young man knew anyway, plonked himself drunkenly at the bar too. He was not far from Jordan and the boy could hear his bragging about how far he'd been with his Cargo ship. He spoke extensively about this evil land of Machina seemingly untouched by Sin. Immediately Jordan's interest was peaked and before anyone could complain or Call the sailor a blasphemer the youth Spoke, blunt and curious.
"Is this true? You have been to lands beyond Spira?" Before Jordan had spoken Everyone with any sense had dismissed it as drunken bragging, but now they seemed to be listening to how the Sailor would react to a direct confrontation.
There was a pause as the Drunk tried to work out if the Boy was intrigued or rude since Jordan's face was so straight his emotion was difficult to sense. After a quick sip though he Nodded deciding it didn't matter anyway. "Aye, Every word." He nodded.
Jordan his face still straight felt wonder he never had before. A place free of Sin? Where Machina was allowed. No more being miss treated By Yevon or it's followers. He was Suddenly a little frightened but he knew now he had to leave. Knowing there was a place he might not be looked down in was more than enough to force his next actions.
"Please, take me. I don't have much but here. Will this do?" Jordan asked Pushing a small pile of Gil into the man's hands. Had he known it this was far more than the journey was worth.Grinning behind rosy cheeks The man nodded. Though this was simply because the price was so high, not a desire to make the Journey since it was actually just told to him but another traveler, not a Journey he had made himself.
Jordan missed the point of the man's grin entirely and made plans to meet tomorrow.
------------------
The next morning Jordan awoke and was by the dock at daybreak. One of few occasions he had awoken so early. And by about an hour later the Sailor had arrived too, He was to put it nicely Plastered. Drunk out of his skull as he was the sailor managed to get the boat ready and was prepared to make sail within another half an hour. Jordan was impressed at the speed in which the man was ready despite his inebriation.
------------------
An unfortunate fact about Jordan that due to the only times he'd ever really been on a boat it was big enough, the sea had luckily been calm enough and the boat built to prevent it the motion of the sea had been unnoticeable enough that Motion sickness had never been a problem. The unfortunate fact was that Jordan was extremely susceptible to motion sickness. So much so that the boat normally only used to transport Besaid cloth and catch shellfish made him quite sickly and dizzy within about 10 minutes.
Somewhat taking pity on the passenger he was just about scamming The Sailor offered Jordan the same cure his father had offered him. A drink of the family recipe home brew. Which unbeknownst to Jordan was about 3-4 times stronger than the strongest Spiran commercial brew. Though that really wasn't hard to beat strength wise.
It took very little to get Jordan Just short of drunk. Which oddly did get rid off the sea sickness. But it also mean Jordan was stumbling in time with the ships rocking, an almost comical thing to watch as he fought to remain on his feet despite the rocking of the vessel. At Least now they were away from port and Jordan was on his way to maybe having a real life, instead of just trying to avoid Yevon Day-to-day.
