Ryun was in the library. Ever since he came face to face with that witch he had been concerned that his skills were not up to scratch. He knew he was strong, and he was skilled enough. Any common foe and most beasts, he could handle, but when it came to magic users and more powerful foes, he knew, at that point in time, he would not be much good, there was so far brute strength could take him.
So, in light of this realisation he had, in his spare time, been studying. He had been trying to learn all he could so, he could better himself as a warrior, a Knight of Pluto, and Queen Garnet’s personal bodyguard. At that point in time he was sitting at a table with a large book in hand. The look on his face was the of pure concentration.
Fighting Magic Users & Counter-Measures When Dealing With Magic
Before we begin a word about magic. The force known as magic is not an evil force, nor is it good; it is what it is depending on the user wielding it. If the magic user is pure of heart and good of deed, the magic he or she will use will be a force for good, however, if a user is impure of heart and evil in their deeds the magic he or she will use will be a force for evil.
Basic Counter-Measures
There is abilities out there that can actually prevent people, for a short time, to use magic. The most commonly known one is something called Mute Attack. It seems like a simple strike, but the technique behind it “silences” the magic user and therefore prevents them from using magic. However, if a lingering spell is used, this is a magic spell that can cast away that spell, it is called dispel.

Today was a sort of day off where there was no official court or business unless it walked up to the castle doors. In times gone by her days off consisted of just more studying but Ryun had returned from Treno and Doctor Tot had still not arrived at the castle. Queen Garnet had been told by Captain Steiner that Ryun would probably be in the library so that was where she was heading. Two guards pushed open the large double doors to let her in and she immediately saw Ryun.
"Captain Steiner said you might be here, anything you need to research is probably in this library. That's something that technology outside of the Mist Continent doesn't have, if they don't have the original source of information they can't copy it."
Queen Garnet sat down opposite him with a book clutched in her hands she had been carrying since she had left her room, it probably wouldn't tell her how to regain her summoning powers but there was no harm in looking. Visiting the memorial in Esthar had shed no light on the situation which at least blocked off a possible path but now there was no where else to look.
"Sorry I guess I rambled there a little bit, so what are you researching?"
When Ryun heard the doors open he looked up and over his shoulder to see Queen Garnet, a warm smile, which seemed to only appear on his face when she was in the room, appeared on his face momentarily. He stood up to greet her when she started to speak he simply nodded, and, when she had been in the room for a certain amount of time he sat down once again, just after she had done so herself.
Ryun was, relatively speaking, new to all of this, formality, but, he was learning, slowly, but surly. He had managed to learn the basics when it came to it, but was still having trouble understanding the finer points of courtroom and palace etiquette, but, he was pretty sure he would get it sooner or later. He may be knight in her armies, but, he was also her bodyguard, so, he knew, for the sake of what she looked like, he would have to learn of all that sort of stuff.
As she continued to speak he had seated himself down with his hand on the book he was reading, not because he was trying to hide what he was reading, it was simply that the book was at the same point where he had rested his hand. He smiled slightly when she mentioned the differences between technology outside of the Mist Continent and within. He smiled because he would not know much, sure he spent a short amount of time in Galbadia, Balamb and Esther, but, since his memory had not come back to him, he was not completely sure about the difference.
Then she asked about what he was researching and he looked down at the book for a second or two, the smile had gone from his face once more as he removed his hand from the book. He then looked up at Garnet once again before speaking, “It has recently become clear that my abilities to protect you are limited. The magics that the witch had shown proved that to me, so, I’m studying anti-magic techniques, and, maybe, if I am able, I will learn how to wield magic myself.”
It had been a long and tiring journey on foot for Doctor Tot. All the way from Treno to Alexandria was a very long journey, when lost in your mind and grieving for an old and good friend its difficulty vastly increased. However Tot was making the journey in fair time.
Finally the Dr. made it all the way to the castle, a place he hadn't visited in a long time. And his friends home. After staring at the gates for almost a minute Tot pulled himself and lifted his heavy bags and started into Alexandria Palace. He got inside pretty quickly, Wandering through the familiar but so distant corridors. Even though he was doing this for the princess he almost regretted it for a moment.
Finally finding a path he knew and seemed actually welcoming Tot wandered towards the library. The hall of wisdom where he had spent most of his life. Almost forgetting the burden of his bags he walked quickly towards the place he had for so long considered home. His happy place that held most of his good memories. Pushing The doors open with his shoulders Tot entered the Library for this first time in What seemed to be years.

As the library doors opened Garnet's eyes opened wide.
"Doctor Tot?"
The young Queen quickly pushed her wooden chair back before running towards Doctor Tot, she skidded in front of him and fell to her knees. Garnet grabbed his robe and began to sob.
"It is you! Things have been terrible here Doctor Tot."
Ryun continued to read the book he had in front of him, every now and again glancing either to Garnet, who he had caught looking at him as well, or the other few books he had to his side. He wished to read and learn as much as he could so he could better protect Garnet. He wanted to know how to counter magic and how to use it himself. He was not sure if he was able to wield it, but he would be damn sure he would learn how to counter it.
He briefly took note that someone had entered the room. Ryun was pretty sure they would not be a threat to Garnet, but, his free hand resting on his hammer, even though he was not wearing his armour he always carried his weapon with him, just in case he needed to fight unexpectedly. However, when the Queen spoke Ryun’s head shot up and he turned his head and, even though he never actually met, he recognised Doctor Tot instantly, because, after all, that witch he disguised herself as him.
After a second or two it kicked in that Garnet had made her way towards the little doctor and, well, Ryun stood up and turned around to make sure she was ok. Ryun was not far from them, about one, maybe two of his strides. It was true this could be the real Doctor Tot, but he would not let his guard down, not for a second, just in case it was that witch again, trying to play the same trick, and Ryun would die before letting someone happened to the Queen.
Before Tot Could react to anything in the Room Garnet had latched onto his clothing and was sobbing into his robes. Tot had Missed his Pupil greatly and was both saddened and cheered up greatly by her presence again. However Grief was greater in The doctor's mind too and his head fell forward, looking at Garnet sadly. However as much as Tot missed the queen, and regretted her loss he knew that The princesses Sadness was that much deeper for losing her mother now as well as her father.
Dropping his bags Tot gently placed his left hand on top of Garnets head. "I know. The herald came to tell me not too long ago. I'm sorry about your Mother, Garnet." Tot wasn't and had never been too good at stressful situations like this. Comforting people was kind of a lost art for him.
It wasn't that he was ignoring Ryun, more he hadn't noticed him. A newly orphaned Queen crying into your clothes was pretty distracting. Tot did however pull himself together enough to remember Garnet was now queen, much as he had loved Brahne She had defiantly changed for the worst after her husband died. The kingdom now at least had a chance for success again, no more tyranny. However what was more important was thee Queen was allowed to grieve for her mother, even if just for a little while.

Since her mother's death Garnet had to take the crown and continue to rule Alexandria. Queen Garnet slowly looked up to Doctor Tot, he had been her tutor for many years and was one of the royal family's most trusted advisors and friends.
"I don't know what to do. It's like i'm an autopilot....i'm not ready to be Queen, how can I rule a country i'm only sixteen....I miss my mother."
The young Queen buried her face back into Doctor Tot's robes and slumped further onto the ground. She didn't want to be Queen for today....she just wanted to be comforted and looked after as though she was still a sixteen year old girl.
Tot nodded. It was a horrible thing to lose one's parents, and at such a young age too. Garnet's ability to carry on through dire conditions was a testament to her character. And to her mother and fathers ability with children.
"I know, you've done a Fantastic Job so far. It's impossible that aren't ready with some help. It would have been preferable to have more time to prepare you though. Being queen isn't just about the public appearance. It's about doing what's best for your people and you've got that down. But for now you need some time, losing your mother is a horrible thing. So take your time, Garnet " The doctor comforted. This was about asgood with people as he generally got.
As the doctor looked up a little, he spotted Ryun stood across the room. Was he a new knight? It seemed likely so he cleared his throat and spoke a little louder so Ryun could defiantly hear. "I don't think Garnet should be in for business the rest of the day. She needs some time. Could you make sure she is not disturbed with any business, at least for today?" He asked. Tot was hardly going to send Garnet straight back to ruling the country as soon as she was needed for a less than important reason. She had done that for too long she needed a break. Even if only for a day.
As Ryun stood there watching the Queen break down in tears he was unsure what to do. He cared for the Queen dearly. They may have only known each other for a short time, however, his need to protect her transcends that of his vow as a knight and her bodyguard. He did not know why, but from the moment he saw her all he had ever wanted to do was make sure no harm came to her.
So, to see her in that much pain and not be able to do anything for her, it broke him up, so much so, it was actually visible on his usual monotonic features. He wanted to do something for her, but, he was not usually good with words, and, he knew, the only thing that could help her was time, and, hopefully, he could help, in some fashion.
When he heard someone clear their throat he looked towards the sound, and, begrudgingly, away from Garnet. It was the doctor, and, it seemed, that he wanted Ryun’s attention. Ryun’s, guarded, almost cold eyes, looked at the small Doctor as he asked his request. It was a good idea, and, as much as he could, would follow them, “Of course… Doctor Tot.”
