Zidane was getting bored of just roaming the town and honestly he kept seeing how everyone had some kind of pet and it made him feel a bit lonely. Sure he had the gang to hang out with but it wasn't enough since alot of them just couldn't keep up with him physcially and weren't agile enough to really move with him so when it came to games of tag or races anyone it was really boring. While walking through the town market place he noticed a board which was usually filled with requests to hunters or anyone looking to make some extra money. Normally Zidane stayed away from this board since he always got sucked into doing some quest he thought would be amazing and it would turn out to be something lame and not worth his time.
One of the requests caught his eye and he inched over closer to it trying to keep an aloof composure as if someone was watching him and he wanted them to think he didn't really care about the board. The paper stated things about having a real pet as in not a dog or cat or any of these little creatures that would be around the town but like a worth while creature you would be proud to call yours. Smiling Zidane was caught up reading the directions to where he needed to go for the quest and who the person was he had to see. *Ok I got to go to Lindbulm that should be oh so exciting thankfully that is just a couple hours walk away from here.* So with his normal outfit, traveling cloak, and dagger he headed to Lindbulm to look for Diamond Dave and this creatures shop in Lindbulm.
After walking miles on end he finally arrived in the city of Lindbulm and started asking for directions to the Store which seemed ot be a few blocks away. Smiling Zidane picked up his pace excited to see how this would go and hoping that this wasn't going to be some stupid quest using false rewards and such to get people to come to some cruddy shop. After a wrong turn down an alley way he finally made it to the shop and taking a deep breath Zidane opened the door and his senses were filled with the smell of animals and he could hear the various noises from tons of different creatures. Smiling he walked over to the counter and rang the bell on the counter, "Hello? I'm here about the Quest to get a real pet."
When you enter the noises of the animals became louder. Looking around you could see so many different kinds of animals, from some mundane ones, to ones that might actually be really dangerous if not treated with care. The different smells in the shop were as varied as the animals inhabiting it, but, at the same time, the shop smelt very clean, which some might find surprising.
Then, when you looked at the counter you saw a girl, but something about her was a little off. When the person saw you that person smiled brightly, reminding you off the young thief Leon you met in Alexandria. When this person continued to smile the person walked over to you, and when the person spoke you realised it was a very feminine looking boy,
“Welcome kind sir to Diamond Dave’s Animal Emporium, how may I be of service today, what kind of animal would you like, would you like a dog, or a cat, or something more exotic?”

“Well honestly I was looking for something that was out of the Norm.” Looking around through the store glancing back at the dude who looks like a lady every so often. Zidane didn’t really see anything that interested him here, thinking back to when he was traveling he remembered a creature that sparked his interest. “Do you guys have any Wolves?” Using his hands to describe the creature Zidane became excited. “You know the ones that grow like to the size of me and are agile like monkeys and fast as hell?” Zidane’s excitement showed clearly through his face and body movements, “Is there any way I can get one of those, I’ll gladly capture one or fight a band some poachers or do some odd jobs around here to get one.” Turning back to the guy he smiled hoping that he was in luck.
The young boy’s eyes widened slightly when you mentioned what you wanted. He was surprised, not many people came to the store for a pet like that, since they were so dangerous. However, they normally kept puppies in store, so, he went back to the counter to check the stock rota. He frowned slightly as he looked at the rota before looking at you,
”Unfortunately we are out of stock, if you meant a Dire Wolf. We don’t stock fully grown ones normally, due to the fact they’re really dangerous when they grow up… however…”
He went to a second set of sheets and read through them. He looked confused when he looked through the sheets. However, soon that look of confusion turned to worry. He double and triple checked the sheets before looking back at you, trying his best to keep the look of worry from his face, but, was having a tough time of it,
”The person who brings our Dire Pups in should have arrived earlier today… I wonder… if you could find him for us we would be grateful, we would even throw in a Dire Pup as payment for your services. His name is Jak Libem; he normally comes in from the South Gate.”

“For real!” Smiling Zidane was happy to hear all he had to do was find this guy and he would get his wolf as payment, “By the south gate right?” Zidane turned around and waved to the guy behind the counter before he could say anything and ran out of the shop. After running for a couple of blocks he realized that this was a town that he wasn’t use to so it would probably be smart to ask for directions to the south gate then getting lost in some alley way like he had earlier. Smiling he walked up to some guys and got the directions to the gate and started to run in that direction, his body was filled with excitement and anticipation over getting his new pet. Zidane didn’t even realize the boy’s words about the beasts being extremely dangerous when fully grown or how the guy who delivers this dangerous creatures would be late to delivering them.
To Zidane all he knew was that he just had to run all the way to the south gate find this Jak Libem, his pace started to slow down when he noticed that he had no clue what this guy looked like. “Smooth one Zidane and you would look like a complete idiot if you ran all the way back just to ask.” Walking slowly as he can see the gate getting closer and closer he started to look around for a guard so that he could ask him if he knew where he could find this guy. *I mean he has to regularly come through this gate with these beasts so they have to know him atleast by looks.* Finally finding a guard Zidane ran over to talk to him. “Um hi Mr. Guard, I was wondering if you knew where I could find a Jak Libem, He was supposed to deliver something to Diamond Dave’s pet store and he hasn’t shown up.”
The soldier who seemed a little young to be one had been eyeing you suspiciously since you arrived near the South Gate. He kept his eye on you and seemed a little surprised when you approached him, thinking, since you were the suspicious sort, you would not come to a guard, and it threw him off his game a bit. When you asked him if he had seen Jak he did not speak for a moment, just shook his head. He then managed to bring himself to speak,
”No sir, but, if you really want to find him he comes in through the forest outside this gate.”
Post by Zidane Tribal on Nov 17, 2012 18:08:23 GMT
Zidane smiled at the guard, “Thanks Mr. Guard.” Turning towards the gate he doubled checked his stuff making sure he still had his dagger and traveling cloak, with them in place he looked at the guards on the sides of the gate and walked out of the city towards the forest path that so many travelers tend to tread on. Smiling he decided to pick up his pace he knew that the second he got into the forest he could fly through the trees as a mode of transportation thanks to his athletic ability and acrobatic skills. Passing a few caravans he decided to stop besides one and ask if they had seen the guy he was looking for, the only help he got was from an old man mentioning something about a some guy farther in the forest that looked like he needed some help with his load though he wasn’t sure if that was the guy Zidane was looking for. Thanking the man Zidane resumed his run towards the forest and upon reaching the edge he looked for a decent height branch and ran to the tree kicking off the trunk of it grabbing the branch and swung up onto the top of it.
Once he was settled on his branch he looked down the path making sure to pick a path that would keep him relatively close to the actual traveler’s path but far enough that if some bandits or something tried an ambush it wouldn’t work in their favor. Smiling filled with excitement Zidane pushed off his branch he commenced his series of movements that moved him from branch to branch with ease and grace from years of training. *Got to keep an eye out for this Jak guy, I really want this Pup.*
As you looked around the forest you noticed something quite alarming. There was a caravan slightly further into the forest which looked like it was attacked. If you got a closer look you could see that there was a big burly man resting against it clutching his side. From the looks of things it could have been highwaymen, but, that did not explain why the other caravans you saw did not get hit. Something was not right here, there must have been something in that caravan that was really valuable.
Jumping down to the traveler’s path Zidane approached the Caravan with caution and his head on a swivel. Once he was close enough to the man he spoke, “Hey you alright, What happened here?” Looking around there was clear signs of struggle in the area with some foot prints heading off in another direction most likely the attackers. “Are you Jak?” Zidane took off his traveling cloak and tore off some of it to make into a bandage for the man’s side which seems to have been stabbed or cut by probably a dagger. Before he let the man talk Zidane walked the area making sure there weren’t anyone trying to set up another ambush for him or any unlucky traveler coming over to help this man. Once he was statisfied that no one was around he headed back over to the man, Zidane happened to have passed behind the Caravan where he could see into the back of the wagon. It had some cages and traps inside it, the inside was a mess making it look like something had gotten loose or taken there was a collar on the outside of the wagon. Zidane bent down to pick it up and put it in his pocket thinking that for some reason it was important, he headed back to the man and awaited his response.
As you approached the caravan owner looked at you, turning his head weakly. He did not speak; he seemed too weak to be able to. As you tried to patch him up he continued to look at you a wary look in his eyes. He was unsure if he could trust you, but, he realised it would be better to trust the kindness of strangers than to let those fiends make away with his cargo. When you returned he answered your question,
“I, I’m Jak, a group of bandits made away with my Dire Puppies…”
He then pointed down the road where the footprints had been shown. However, almost as soon as he had raised his hand to point it fell down limp. If you checked him you would know for certain he was dead. You noticed a scrap of paper in his hands, which when he died fell onto the floor, would you check it or go straight for the direction where he had pointed?

Zidane’s always present smile faded as the man passed away, “Bandits, Thieves, Rogues, Merc, Assasins, Death dealers.” Shaking his head he closed the man’s eyes and reached down picking up the piece of paper Jak had held onto till he passed away, Taking a look at it he didn’t quite make sense of it but he would worry about that later when he had caught up to the bandits. Running over to the footprints they didn’t look too old and they were definitely on foot, this would make it easier for Zidane to catch up to them the bonus of this whole situation was that they were in the woods, Zidane’s home environment. Sprinting down the path he run jumped on a down tree that had been stuck at an angle caught by another tree, continuing his path up the tree he jumped off onto a branch and swung through the canopy. His anger powering his movements giving his a faster movement and his mind on high alert looking for these thugs that had killed a man for his loot, “Don’t worry pups I will save you.” He could hear panting and eventually saw the bandits that had a dire pup in a small cage, Zidane made sure to get closer to the one with the cage and swung around to a position that would be perfect for a ambush. *Now I just wait for the right moment.* Pulling his dagger out of its sheath he started to think of an attack plan and replaying different scenarios in his head making sure he had a counter attack for each movement.
As you looked at the thugs you counted three of them in basic attire, simple in look, leather armour and basic swords. However, there was one in front there a fourth one, that looked a lot more dangerous. He was wearing good quality iron armour and, on his back he had a double handed sword. However, when you got a closer look, you could see something, he looked like the Guard you saw earlier on who gave you directions. It did not look exactly alike; the guy in front had a patch over his eye and looked a good five years older, maybe an older sibling. However, as you followed them, you got the feeling, if you did not take them then and there, it would be a lot worse for you.

Jumping down into the middle of the bandits Zidane doesn't hesitate on attacking the nearest bandit. Quickly using the momentum from the attack he swung back around and attacked another bandit, Zidane's plan was to quickly dispatch the lesser minions so that he could keep his attention fully on the leader of this group.
As you attack the bandits turned around and felt the blade enter two of them. The two you attack stagger back. It took them a few moments before drawing their swords and make their attacks. However, you will notice that the leader did not draw his Greatsword; it seemed that he was confident enough in his bandits for them to take care of you.
Action: After drawing his blade he grew angry and charged in slashing wildly at you. From the way he wielded his blade it seemed that there as little chance that he had formal training in any way. It seemed, if the others were like this, that they were nothing more than basic thugs. [Attack Deals 150 Damage (25 After Def)]
Action: The second was pretty much was the same. He drew his blade, and, did a fancy spin on it before charging in. Even though the spin of his blade may make it seem he had some resemblance of skill, and maybe he had a bit more than the first one, but the end story made it seem, from the attack, that he was not that skilled either. [Attack Deals 150 Damage (25 After Def)]
Action: Last but not least the third one charged in. He had not been attacked, and, that might be the bad thing, since, out of the three of them, he seemed to have the most skill. However, that might not be saying much. As he charged in he did a couple of feigning attacks before slashing down at you aiming for your shoulder running across your chest. [Attack Deals 150 Damage (25 After Def)]
[Total Damage Dealt: 75]
[You have 7 Turns to defeat the Bandits and their leader before more Bandits Arrive.]

Zidane jumped back from the last attack he could feel the blood start to surface. “Oh so we got some fighters awesome.” Smiling He dashed towards the two bandits he had first attacked, going low he swung upward at a bandit. Locating the next bandit he feigned an attack from the top and came in from the side cutting from the side.
The first two had fallen but the third bandit, even though looking a little worried faced you. He spun his blade around and looked over his shoulder at their leader. The bandit leader was not too impressed and that made the normal one look even more worried. He turned to face you and got ready for his next attack.
Action: The bandit charged in aiming a massive slash down your body. The slash started from your collar bone to the other side around your rib area. [Attack Deals 150 Damage (25 After Def)]
(You have 6 turns left to defeat the bandit and the bandit leader before more come)
Smiling even though he had just been cut Zidane gladly readied himself for the new opponent. He had to be smart about taking out the next two enemies It was this one lower bandit and then the leader who still hadnt attacked or even bothered to take out his weapon. Quickly Zidane charged the last bandit taking advantage of his uneasiness going low from his stomach up he slashed across the bandits body, then bringing his dagger quickly back down the other side he made a x across the body.
Without even a word of a moment’s hesitation, as soon as the last of the underlings fell the Bandit Leader charged in drawing his sword handed sword. He did not blink or give any sign of fear or sorrow about what had happened to his, minions, for lack of a better word.
Action: The bandit lead charged in a launched himself into the air. Within seconds he had come down bringing his massive sword down with him and onto you. (Attack Dealing 160 damage (35 after Def)
Bearing the attack with some difficulty Zidane grimaced a bit the attacks from eariler were starting to get to him. *I probably should have brought something to heal these wounds.* Smiling once more Zidane attacked feigning an attack from the side he swung below and attacked at his stomach then spinning around he stabbed toward the side of the leader.
The Bandit leader did not even flinch when you struck him, in fact it seemed to spur him further to attack. It was then, you might realise that this young warrior had training as a Berserker. He was nowhere near on the level of a full one, but, when you struck he did not stop.
Action: He charged in not letting an ounce of separation happen. When he got within striking distance he spun around and aimed a massive diagonal slash down on you, in from the collar bone to the ribs. (Attack Dealing 160 damage (35 after Def)
*OOC: Why doesn't he take any damage? Did he block it? Breserkers aren't granted any ability that lets them ignore dmg. They ignore any status effects that make them lose an action and berserk doesn't make them attack their allies. So why didn't he take damage?*
Zidane grimaced when the blade slashed into his body, he could only handle one more direct attack before he would be done for and he didn't have much time before reinforcements arrived. The only positive about all this is that if he won he would get his pup and have gotten rid of a bandit leader that is ruining theives name. Attack directly for the leaders shoulder he slid between the legs of the leader quickly hopping up he sliced twice across the leaders back.
As you struck the final blow the Bandit Leader had raised his double handed sword into the air for his final blow. However, as you struck his eyes widened slightly and, after a few seconds fell to the ground dead. He had been defeated, however, from the sounds of things, there were a fair few more bandits on their way, which was not good. There was not much chance for you to escape, as you see the Dire Puppy laying their in its cage.
All of a sudden a brief flash of white light appeared and, after the light was gone, the young, feminine looking shopkeeper’s assistant was there. He looked around for a second or two and sighed, seeing the mess around him. He continued to look around, but, there seemed to be only one Dire Puppy, which meant the other three were nowhere to be seen. This depressed young Vincent. He then looked up and heard the sounds of the incoming bandits. He turned to you,
”We better get out of here.”
With that he raised his hand into the air and clicked his fingers. All of a sudden the area suddenly changed, and they were back to the shop. When they had reached the shop, Vincent fell to one knee for a second before getting back up. He looked at you and smiled before walking over to the caged puppy and opened the cage. He seemed to start talking to it which made the young Dire Wolf lick his face before padding over to you. Vincent smiled and looked up,
”It seems the Dire Puppy likes you, and, as agreed, she’s your reward.”
Zidane picked the pup up and smiled it licked his face and it's tail wagged back and forth. Thanking Vincent Zidane walked out of the store and headed back to Alexandria with his new dire pup following by his side.
Nip (Level 1): Using his slightly developed teeth he bites into a vital part of the person’s leg. An Atk based skill that deals 10pts of base damage to one foe and may cause the Slow Status Effect and costs 25MP to use.
