"Damn, Finally a little bit of sun today.", The Red headed Turk mumbled too himself in a bored drawl, today he was on what his superiors called a 'semi-mission'. Why he was chosen was a complete mystery, but hey Reno took whatever job came his way, it was the way the company had in it's own screwed up way groomed him. The 'semi' mission being alert Zack's mother and father about their son's death. Reno didn't know Zack very well, they weren't friends even calling them acquaintances was a bit of a stretch, but he had heard of Zack, and the way he died....According to the books he died like a soldier, but most couldn't help but feel like he deserved a bit more. Being decapitated in the middle of a battlefield, having his head roll off of his body.... literally? The favorite soldier of the organization, or one of the three since Sephiroth had gone crazy and passed 'divine judgement' a good half of the organization before disappearing. Many soldiers still couldn't get the scene out of their head reliving it daily. Their beloved kind and just hero, collapsing.... crumbling headless. The lackadaisical red haired man couldn't blame 'em.
With Zack's death and Sephiroth's attack the morale of the organization was at a dangerous low. Not to mention the tension between nations getting even higher any idiot could see war was on the horizon, and by the looks of it Midgar would be the first down. If that were to happen he'd be the next Zack, not in terms of honor of course, Zack was a much better man than Reno was easily, even Reno wouldn't argue that one, but in terms of decapitation he felt that was honestly one of the shittiest ways to die.
The man took a drag of his cigarette, now he smoked about once a week thanks to Rude's constant threats to beat the red out of him if he happened to see him smoke, regardless he felt his partner would let him slide after all he just delivered the worst possible news to a hero's parents. He had to explain what, how, when, and where it happened and then had to watch their hearts crumble with each passing second. After about 20 minutes of explaining he was promptly kicked out so they could mourn. And so Reno found himself on the outskirts of Gongaga it'd been raining heavily earlier, but finally the clouds were clearing and he could get a good picture of the sunset.
"Well Spikes have to say you had a lot goin' for ya."
An all too familiar Flute sounded out around Reno, The sound was slightly different to most flutes because it was a little bent from many of its owners brawls. The flute played no particular tune, simply a series of notes that held no real pattern. Then it stopped, to be replaced by the sound of a swig from a glass bottle. And round the corner whom should stumble but the worst possible Turk. Manfred was there.
Manny Scotts was not the ideal turk to meet after a hard day. But honestly he had been to most likely. He had been in the area keeping an eye on a suspicious man, the blood on Manny's shoe gave away the result of the spying. Another swig was taken of the bottle and Manny looked around before adjusting the little loose blazer that. Was that Reno's blazer?! this wasn't the first time, frankly it was surprising that Manny borrowed blazers so little. If you had asked him why his answer would always be the same. "Well its hard to pry the sticky old blazers off." Disturbingly this seemed to almost sound plausible.
It took him a little but Manny soon saw Reno. "Ah, there you are. Heard you got to come here so thought I'd come find you after the suspect led me here. He was a bomber, so i shot him. He spurted." Manny explained, he always loved to tell the other Turks if he hit a vein or not. Mostly to show his skill at marksmanship.
Putting his head right back Manny downed the last of the bottle, it was only ale so he was barely slightly getting tipsy. it showed too, he was much better on his feet. he had only just finished up so hadn't drunk anything for a while. "Want some red? It's good stuff. and no worries I only just started, I didn't drink while following him like i promised. So please don't go telling The Boss I did." Manny chuckled, he had deep respect for Tseng and the rest of the Turks so he wanted them to be able to trust him, their confidence meant a lot to him.
Manny enjoyed time around Reno, the Turk most like himself. He then walked calmly over to Reno and offered a bottle. He might be a bit too fond of drink but the younger cared deeply about the quality. He wouldn't drink rubbish by choice, if he didn't like he didn't drink.
Ryun had been walking around town for a while, seeing if he remembered anything, or any of the places that were within the area. However, much to his annoyance, he did not. Ever since he washed up on the shores of the place he found out was called Galbadia he had only remembered his name.
He did not know why he was without his memory, or how it actually happened, and, it frustrated him to no end. He wanted to know who he was, and what he was supposed to do in this world. Was he a farmer, a soldier, a bodyguard? He did not know this, all he knew was, he was strong, and he could fight.
As he walked through the place he heard sounds and his curiosity got the better of him, and he followed the sound. What he saw did not please him, not one bit, however, his almost eternally guarded expression did not show this. He looked at the beaten and broken body on the floor and bent down closing the dead man’s eyes, “Yevon guide you.”
OK, he did not know why he said that, hell, he did not even know who this Yevon fellow was, maybe it was a clue to who he was, or where he was from. However, he soon pushed it out of his mind for more pressing matters at hand, finding the person who did this to this poor person.
He looked around and saw a bloody shoeprint leading away. He got up so he was standing at his massive height and followed the footprints, to wherever they would lead him to. He was not sure if he was going to fight the man, but he wanted answers. He did not know why he wanted answers, but something inside of him demanded that the act of violence must be answered.
It was a decently warm day in Gongaga, and Rude had once again been sent along with his partner Reno on official business. It sort of bugged him to call it that, but it came with the job, and when the Turks was your organization of employment you learned not to ask too many questions concerning morality. They had been sent along to inform the parents of a SOLDIER named Zack of his death. To be honest, it kind of surprised him that he was allowed to wait outside the home while Reno went about the job; he usually pawned off this kind of work on Rude, so it was a nice change of pace; a change of pace that would award Reno a cigarette scot-free, not that Rude had any intention of really stopping himself. He tended to excuse that with his fitness regiment. He waited out back behind the house for Reno to come back.
He withdrew a fancy-looking cigar case from his vest pocket and an engraved lighter from one of the others, lightning the cigar as he leaned against the structure taking a few deep puffs off of the overpriced source of tobacco. He felt cigars were classier than cigarettes, and besides, Reno had yet to catch him. He'd been pretty careful about it to say the least, often peeking out from wherever he'd been smoking to see if the red-haired troublemaker was around or looking for him. He got the slight notion that his partner was on to him, but luckily he never needed the effects of nicotine to really feel at ease; whiskey solved that just fine. After about fifteen minutes he heard Reno being asked to leave, and promptly extinguished the half-smoked cigar and placed it back in the case for later.
He stepped out from behind the structure and approached Reno to meet up, but he had to stare through his shades at a figure playing a flute. He looked familiar, but he couldn't quite place his thoughts on a name, but approached silent and stoic as always. He folded his hands in front of him as he stepped up near Reno, clearing his throat slightly so as to alert his partner he was near; there were too many times when he took one of those shock rods to the face due to Reno's uncanny survival instincts, so he made damn sure to save himself the money on more shades. As he stood there just shy of swing distance, he watched as the figure downed the rest of some alcohol.
Man, he sure was familiar...
''Reno. How'd it go?'' The only piece of conversation he'd offer out in the open, he stood tall and strong as a brick wall while awaiting the report on the situation. He had to admit he missed cracking a few skulls, as they'd been sent on so many half-baked missions lately his job was starting to lose its danger factor. Even with these thoughts in his head, he maintained his all-business, all the time mannerisms.
