Continued From: Midgar
As the train locked the doors and began to move, announcing it's intended destination to the technological advanced city of Esthar, Loki simply lowered his head and closed his eyes. He had never been to the place before, but he knew of it's superior gadgetry as one of it's trademark qualities. The fact that it was also a place that liked to be shrouded in mystery like himself was also something he took note in, however he wasn't sure why a city would want that in the first place.
Most huge cities like that would openly welcome visitors as cities thrived on huge populations, but considering that this train line was one of the only 'safe' ways to get to it there had to be a significant reason why it was set up that way. The thought of wanting to keep their secret developments away from neighboring continents was a decent guess, but it wouldn't make sense for them to open their doors to a place like Midgar. After all, Shin-Ra essentially had control over the continent and were definitely an organization to not be taken likely when it came to aggressively acquiring assets.
A slight laugh escaped his smirked lips as he realized he was apart of such tactics right now, arms crossed as he continued to lean back into his chair. However, he felt a slight rush of wind extend from his body and that smile of his returned to his normal stoic visage bordering on a frown. He knew that sensation was that of his guardian who shared his body, borrowing his strength to manifest. He knew she was standing in front of him but he didn't feel like raising his head to look up at her.
"I think my optimism must be rubbing off on you finally despite for the wrong reasons. Why else would you be blindly rushing to your death like this?"
Eisa commented with her hands on her hips and a raised brow. As she spoke those words, Loki could tell she had a slight smile on her face as if she had won a victory in changing the dragoon's principles. Yet, the descendant of Balgus was all too happy to dash those dreams as rose his head to look up at her.
"My strength might not be as adequate as it once was, but I'm still confident I can handle this. If you hadn't noticed, I tend to grow stronger at a faster rate when I knock on Death's door. A small price to pay for my ancestor's teaching and blessing..."
Lowering his head as he trailed off in his words, Loki knew that answer would make his guardian angry. To willingly put himself in danger and herself in order to gain back his fighting prowess was an insane idea that she would not get on board with. She crossed her arms and turned her back to him shaking her head as she walked over to the seat across from Loki. She paused and turned her head over her shoulder before she would eventually sit down.
"Such foolishness I'm hearing from you. To think when we first came back to Gaia a few months ago and had a chance to truly relax and enjoy the comfort of your birthplace, you decided to leave it behind for more mayhem. I just pray one day you won't regret that decision."
She finished, floating down towards the comfortable seat opposite of the one she had formed a pact with. Her words filled with concern as she crossed her legs with a deep sigh as Loki was unmoved by the looks of things. It appeared that her thoughts had fallen on deaf ears until the mercenary uncrossed his arms and placed his hands on his knees as he leaned forward. A dark laugh came from within him slowly as he rose his head and beared his fangs in a twisted smile.
"Still griping on about that? Trust me, I did them a favor by not staying there any longer than I had. The harmony of that place was nauseating, it's obvious that they hadn't had chaos drop on their doorstep in a few decades. The bloodline of my ancestor might not exist on this Gaia which is a truly horrifying thought."
Loki concluded, leaning back in his seat and looking down the hall of the train towards the electronic bulletin. It was currently fifteen minutes away from arriving at the Estharian station. Both the dragoon and valkyrie looked at each other and nodded. Eisa understood that if she was going to accompany Loki as she was, she would try not to drag too much attention to herself. However, considering her appearance and choice of attire, it was easier said than done for both her and the dragoon.
