Red eyes watched the surroundings wearily. Vincent was unfamiliar with his surroundings and it had him on edge, especially there were normal people there. He felt several of the population of the small town... Balamb he thought it was called. He tried to make himself blend in as much as possible, but that seemed to be almost impossible. The way he looked and dressed had made him not blend in with the general population.
He made his way towards the outskirts of the town, wishing to get away from the town. He had always been a loner by nature and the being surrounded by people staring at him was uncomfortable for him. Vincent placed a hand on the gun in the holster strapped to his leg for a moment before removing it again. If the need arose, he could remove the gun from his holster in one swift movement. Though he doubted he would need to in this peaceful town, but it was never smart to let down one's guard. Suddenly something crashed into Vincent, almost knocking him off his feet onto the pavement.

Let see… what exactly was she doing again? It slipped her mind. Earlier in the day some of the Garden students had left after class to go fishing at the pier. One of the girls she had classes with had been kind enough to invite her, but Reuna already knew it was mostly a formality, just because she was around at the time. She probably could have turned it down… and probably would have. But, she had never gone fishing before, nor seen a fish that wasn’t cooked. Seeing one live might be exciting, so she’d watch and try to stay out of everyone’s way.
That was earlier, a few hours ago. Turns out, the small group had bombed big time. They had plenty of bites, but the fish only took their bait. Seemed they couldn’t really fish or the fish were very crafty. In either way, the fishing trip was boring and she didn’t get to see any fish. They’d have to head back to the Garden at some point of time though, in order to avoid curfew, but it was still early. Instead, she decided that she’d window shop just a bit… not that there was too much to see.
Balamb was a very small peaceful town. It was rare for there to be trouble. Sure, some of the local children might cause a ruckus on occasion, but there hadn’t been too many incidents to her knowledge. It was some time later, after she’d gotten bored that she decided to return to the group only to fine out… she’d been left… already. Well, that was rude Invite her out then leave her behind? Where was the sense in that? Maybe they’d forgotten that she came in the first place. In any case, she had to leave soon, or she’d be in danger of missing curfew.
It wasn’t all that late though. However, traveling back to Garden by herself meant that any monsters that she’d find, she’d have to fight them by herself. So, a headstart and some caution was a must. Reuna quickly rounded a corner and fled to the edge of the town only to collide into someone quite hard. While the person she ran into seemed to had only lose their balance, she was a much different story. The moment she crashed into the man, her feet slid from beneath her and she fell with a ruffling sound onto pavement.
It didn’t hurt much, aside from the initial feeling of her hindquarters touching the ground, but she hadn’t gotten up yet. Instead look up at the man. “I’m sorry, I wasn’t looking where I was going Mr…. You don’t look familiar. Are you a tourist Mr?” After she’d spoken, she began dusting herself off and trying to get back to her feet.

Vincent blinked a couple as he caught his balance quickly. He gathered his wits before looking down at the person who had ran into him. He saw a young woman on the ground in front of him. How had he not seen her he wasn't sure but not dwelling that he heard her apologize then ask him if he was a tourist. He had no idea how to answer that at first but he would try. "No need to apologize, I should have been paying more attention also. I suppose I am. I'm Vincent." He smiled reassuringly behind the high collar of his red cloak. Offering his good hand, he spoke again quietly Are you okay?"
He felt very awkward in this situation. Interactions with the public hadn't been part of his plan. He wondered for a second why he hadn't just run for it after this had happened but then realised he hadn't because it was not in his mild mannered nature to run and not acknowledge the young lady that had run into him. He would make sure she was okay then he would be back on his way away from civilisation and solitude. He sighed, mentally kicking himself for not noticing the girl before she had ran into him.
He then realised he was rather vulnerable to attack though he doubted that there would be one there. Paranoia... it came with his past he guessed cause his eyes were flicking everywhere and he was weary of the situation. It wasn't like he wasn't equip for dealing to an attack. He was not one to start trouble but he had no qualms with ending it if it occurred. His hand remained offered to the girl as he knew that it would be stupid to offer her the claw hand. He just prayed he wasn't being foolhardy there. Only time would tell.

When the stranger offered his hand to her, Reuna looked up to examine him. He was taller than her, which was expected, and garbed in red, with dark hair. Yeah, he had to be a tourist, as he said, cause people didn’t usually dress in the manner he had, unless they were traveling. Accepting his hand, she grasped it delicately and pulled just enough to assist her in getting to her feet. “Hm? Yes, I’m quite alright. Thank you for asking, Vincent. Um… my name is Reuna.”
It was sort of weird though. Vincent let out a pretty troubled sigh, despite telling her that she didn’t need to apologize. Although she couldn’t imagine what could possibly be going through his mind, she, made a fairly deep bow and said, “I’m sorry, Mr Vincent. Did I make you lose something?” The way he was looking around, she couldn’t really tell. However, she was trying to be polite. She had the feeling though, she was being a bit of a ditz though, not that should could very much help. It’s not like she had enough social experience to be familiar with anything other than the most basic of body language. While she knew some social pleasantries on a basic scale, she was barely capable of holding normal conversation.
She couldn’t really think of the right words to say, or anything at all that would make sense to say to a tourist. So she slowly let go of Vincent’s hand and took a few steps away, as if to get a better view of him He certainly didn’t seem like a bad person, but he carried some kind of weight on him that she couldn’t describe right. It was like, he was on edge about something and searching about. It suddenly felt very familiar to her, like the way she was when she first arrived on this continent. So, it came to her pretty quickly after she thought about it, causing her face to light up a bit, in the small amount of understanding she had.
“This is your first time in Balamb, right? Well Mr. Vincent,” as she would continue to call him, unless asked not to, “it’s a really nice town. It’s quiet and peaceful. Most of the townspeople are friendly, but it’s kind of a close knit community. A lot of the young people attend the Garden and live there, so you’ll see a lot of us from time to time, but there aren’t many bad people here, okay?” She paused somewhere along the lines to point outside of town where the shape of Balamb garden sat on the horizon. She tilted her head sideways a bit and the smiled reassuringly, as if to say that he didn’t have to be so uptight. “If you plan to say here for a while, I hope you enjoy yourself. There’s a hotel near the peer. I don’t think it’s too expensive.” She waited for what he would say, unsure whether or not she had said anything relevant or comforting.
