The sun shines down over the bustling Garden. Here and there, people are running, trying to get the place back in order after the twin witches from the Coven assailed them earlier. Edward had been off the premise at that point, yet he returned to find the property in disarray, thus he lends a hand in cleaning, and helping the injured get the medical attention they need.
Currently, he finds himself outside the Infirmary after bringing another student in to see Doctor Kadowaki. His demeanour is calm and passive; however, his steely-blue eyes give away his anger. He did not care who attacked or why, he is simply infuriated that someone would attack the people he has come to consider family. Thankfully no one is grievously wounded, but that only lessens his vexation slightly. Admittedly, he is upset with himself for not being around to help when the crisis actually happened.
He needs to cool down. Emotions only get in the way and make him lose focus. Right now he needs to concentrate on training. He is going for his final exam soon and he needs to be prepared. Everything is going well so far, in regards to his initiation. Soon he will be a fully inducted SeeD member, joining the ranks, and helping out those who need it.
He finds himself wandering, lost in thought, yet he does not stir. He only daydreams of grand adventures, or more importantly, going on adventures with friends – something he has never had before.
"Sir, the clean up in the entrance to the Garden is clearly underway.” Two young SeeD trainees were standing together in their uniforms. Both of them were at attention. The male of the two was saluting whilst the female was just standing there at attention, with a slight look of awe on her face. The reason why she had a look of awe on her face was because they were addressing Karrl Garm, currently the one of, if not the highest ranked active member of SeeD, outside of the Instructors.
“Very good, go check on the auditorium, and see if there is anything need to be done, if you need help you have my permission to recruit some more trainees for help in the clean up with that area.” He saluted at them and looked at the girl. He saw the look on her face and he gave her a comforting smile, even though, due to reasons, along side the attack, he was not in the best of moods. However, those reasons were personal, and just thinking about them both hurt him and got him angry.
When the two SeeD trainees got their orders they rushed off to check on the auditorium. As then left Karrl could not help but sigh as he ran his hand through his long silver hair, which was a little dishevelled, since he had been up all night writing his report for Cid and then starting on organising the repairs and do some himself. Karrl had not realised, when he had become a member of SeeD, that there would be so much outside of mission he would have to do. He looked around to see if there was anyone else waiting for instructions.

His meandering has led him stray into the presence of a superior. Snapping back into an attentive state, he notices a man instructing two other trainees, who promptly go and do as commanded. Recognizing the man as Karrl Garm, this would be the first time meeting him. He has heard of this man, yet has never had an encounter with him before.
The man looks slightly haggard and strained. Ed assumes this is due to the stressful atmosphere around the Garden as of late. Being such a high-ranking officer, the man must be very occupied on a normal basis. The attack most likely did not help make anything less hectic.
Compelled by respect and a good-natured will to help, Edward moves forward towards the man. Standing at attention and saluting, he asks, ”Sir, my name is Edward Enir. Is there anything I can do to help?”
Karrl sighed, however, he gathered himself as he saw a young man approaching him. He guessed it was for orders, but he could be wrong. Never the less, he should show strength, since he had not actually seen him before, he assumed that the young man was either a trainee, or a newly made member of SeeD.
Then the young man introduced himself as Edward Enir. He then went on to ask if there was anything needed to be done. At first Karrl could not think of anything other than assisting in the clean up process. He was about to give him the order to assist in the clean up in the Dorms, until he thought of something else.
He himself had been given orders to, when he had set up groups to clean up to deal with some pockets of fiends that were acting wild. There were several pockets, but the ones in the training room were the most concentrated. He looked at the young man and thought, maybe it would be a good idea to see what he was made of.
Continuing to think on the subject he thought it would be good training for the young man, and would help in improvement in his skills. If he was a trainee it would make him that little bit stronger, and stronger trainees make for stronger SeeD. He turned to the man and saluted in turn, “Yes, I need help dealing with some pockets of fiends causing trouble in and around the Garden."

As Ed patiently stands, awaiting instructions, he thinks of all the menial tasks he could be given. The assignments that come to mind are dull and tedious; nonetheless, as a trainee, he would do as told. One always has to start at the bottom before they can work their way up the ladder.
What Karrl said certainly caught Ed off-guard. He never thought clearing away monsters would be a duty given to someone of his skill level (or lack there of). Regardless, he feels honoured to be asked to accompany his superior on such a mission. This would be an excellent training opportunity for his final exam.
”I am ready when you are, sir.”
Wait. Hold on. Weapon? He realizes he does not have one. Being a trainee, he has only had access to weapons when training. He would need to grab one on the way. He did not worry too much, though. He doubts it would not be too hard to find one on their journey.
Karrl saw the eagerness of the young recruit and could not help but let out a small smile. It was strange, he remembered when he was like that, bright eyed and busy tailed. True, it was not long ago he had been like that, but, at the same time it seemed like a whole other life. A life when his biggest concerns were getting good grades and seeing who his next bed partner was going to be.
When the young recruit said he was ready, he nodded, however, he noticed that the young man was without weapons. It could have been down to him being an unarmed specialist, like Zell, but, just to be sure he reached into the inside pocket of his SeeD uniform and pulled out a slip of paper. He then pulled out a pen and quickly wrote the name of Ed and wrote down his signature. Once he was done he gave it the quick once over before handing it to Ed.
Once he had given the young recruit the slip of paper he explained, "Take this to the armory, this slip has just stated I have requested that you have been given, for today, special allowances to have your weapon on you. Of course I expect you to return your weapon after we have dealt with the fiends" Karrl normally did not have those slips, he was not an Instructor, however, he had been given them, just in case he needed to use any recruits in dealing with the fiends. He then looked at Ed, "Meet me at the entrance to the elevator on the second floor, and be quick about it"
