Mysdia was a city unlike anything else. not quite the bustling ports Jace was used too, this was a haven for black magic. His eyes drifted over the buildings and lingered on the massive tower, the supposed tower of black magic held one of the most powerful spells in the world. Ultima, the spell so powerful it relied on ripping part of space and time apart. He blinked a shiver going up his spine what he could do with fire power like that would be irresponsible at best but that wasn't really why he was here.
Jace stood at about 5'6" his glowing eyes marked him as different as he walked through the streets. the reason he had come here was for supplies. It was time he returned home to the veldts and too zozo town but that was an undertaking he needed a ship supplies and.. he stopped at a tavern... "A drink would do nicely." he said walking into the Inn.
On this particular day, the atmosphere was as lively as ever, or, as robust as a society of studied scholars could get anyways. Mysidia, Rydia had once heard stories of its high tower scraping the clouds, and, bearing the burden of a spell that could undo reality itself. Strangely, she found comfort in its existence. At least something had not changed in the time she had been away, even, if that something held the potential of unlimited destruction – it was there and would stand the test of ages. Such a certainty brought reason in a realm awash in utter chaos, and, stilled her heart to a steady beat of ballad-drums.
By the time Jace made his entrance, the Cetra sat on one of the stools that the open-bar provided. Relatively alone, the crowd centered itself around many spherical tables, adorn with cards, playing chips and flagons of whatever happened to be their preferred beverages; judging by the smell, ale, strong-clear (or not so given its natural color), pulsated in many of their mugs. And, mostly, they were cheerful, slamming fists against the table as they lost bets, and, calling out when they won a hand. Conversely, the robes that many of them wore painted them as contradictions to their natural characters.
Rydia on the other hand, kept quiet her long green hair trailing down her back, and, her ritualistic attire sticking out more than mages in a rowdy tavern. At her side a whip coiled around her waist, and, in turn hugged firmly into its proper place. Parting her hair a silver and gold circlet kept her long bangs from falling into her eyes and of course her line of sight.
Granted, the simple matter at hand was that many of them (the patrons), were mages of some sort or another, so, it would be someone more like Jace or a stranger like Rydia, that would stick out in such a gathering. Regardless, she only turned her head briefly when the door swung open shining its bright streaming glare of afternoon daylight to dilate her pupils. She blinked once, thereafter shifting back in her seat to sip at what appeared to be the glass of water in front of her.
Jace felt an odd sense of home. Seeing people gambling, drinking and a general air of sleaze about the place made him restful. His home town of Zozo had been more an extension of the scene and he found comfort as he walked placing a heavy hand on the bar. Though young he could hold his ale and he knew these places almost as well as he would have known a ship. Sitting down at the bar he ordered his drinks and stretched himself out making himself relaxed. He set down his walking stick beside him, the elegantly carved peice of drift wood brought with it the smell of the sea.
Jace's direct appearance was more that of a mercenary then a wizard. He had never found use for the long flowing robes of the traditional approach, and he had learned the hard way that such clothing was cumbersome while on the sea, instead he kept things short. everything from his hair to his vest and jeans were form fitting. He turned a glowing eye towards the woman and gave her a light smile as he took his drink in hand. She was not trying to conceal herself and what she was, she clearly looked the part of a mage, and that at least gave him a topic starter.
"Greetings are you a local?" His voice was a little low as he took his first drink savoring the taste. He listened to the crowed of the tavern for a moment. trying to pick up on some gossip or information. their were no ships in this area, so getting out of the town was going to be a trip and a half if he wanted to return home, however it also meant that the chances of anyone here spotting him for who he really was were very low. Non port towns hardily recognized pirates they were considered other peoples problems, and that was fine by him.
Mysdia its self seemed like a fine place and he was certainly enjoying his stay among a place so imbued with magic. The glow of his eyes seemed somehow even brighter just by being in the area of the tower, and he could practically feel the arcane energy passing over him. It was a sixth sense that he had attained ever since his accident, but so far it had absolutely no use. "My name is Jace I am just passing through."
Rydia may have turned, but, Jace's entrance barely piqued the interest of those currently losing their souls to drink and dice. There were a few grunts of approval as he passed, but, otherwise it was a rather simple and practical entrance. Needless to say, she shifted her gaze when he took a seat at the bar. Her hand went for her glass and she sipped slowly at the water while its docile shimmering of tiny little whirlpools whirred around and the liquid drained. Shortly thereafter, the glass set upon its proper place: the counter, again. A dull tap echoed, but then fell silent to the roar of someone earning more than his usual wage of pay. The man tending bar looked up from wiping part of the far-off wood down the way, but, dismissed it to finish his cleanly task.
After she drank, the new patron spoke. Light and low – barely audible over the otherwise noisy chatter about – however, still heard and harmless enough anyways. Bearing that in mind, she looked unto him casually, judging his figure and attire for what they were: practical, sturdy and more likely than not, loose enough for rapid motion. By all appearances, he was no mage. In that conclusion, she would be wrong, but, they were in a tavern and as such, there was really no need to worry about what or whom he was. While he might be a stranger to the locales, the Cetra did not care, for, she was one too. And, they were rightly wary of her own presence.
“I see that you are not,” Rydia replied, not actually answering his question but nevertheless responding. She went back to staring at the shelves of what passed for alcoholic pleasures. Lined up with their ales, wines and liquor. Gleaming bottles that when looked at the right way could pass a reflection of yourself onto their surface glass. For a few moments more nothing else was said, and, it seemed perhaps his conversation starter had failed. However, he went on giving his name. Jace, his name was Jace.
“Rydia,” she returned as was prudent to do when someone opens themselves up enough to offer an exchange of names. After all, she really had no reason not to. Gaia, she smirked at the thought, this planet was called Gaia. That smirk was still on her face when she looked back at him her head swiveling all-the-while, and, glass in hand again – water pure and simple.
Her world had been known as the Blue Planet, but, no longer. Here, her name would mean nothing; here she was not a wanted fugitive by King Baron. Of course even if she had been, she aged considerably since then. Only her friends would actually recognize her, assuming they even existed or knew her in this reality. “Passing through, huh, where to?”
Jace gave a nod as she gave her name. He took a another swig of his drink, swishing the content around in his mouth before swallowing not quiet savoring the taste but enjoying it all the same. the glow of his eyes seemed to dance up at him as he looked down at his cup reflected in the dark drink as he thought about his answer to Rydia's question. Not long ago the answer would have been where ever the ships sails would have taken him, but he no longer had that luxury. He was still having to come to terms with the fact that he no longer had a ship.
It was funny actually, His crew had burned alive, his friends and 'family' had burned before his very eyes in the same spell that had burned him so closely. Yet it wasn't the company he missed, and he hardly noticed the pain of his body anymore. It was the ship he missed the tittle of captain, the freedom to charter his own voyages and go with impunity to any god damn place that he could imagine on this cursed planet, that was what he missed not the crew but the vessel.
He took another long drink of his swill while trying to piece together an answer. "Anywhere i can." he decided at last that it was the perfect answer he had no intention of sitting up here in the ass end of the world for ever. He would soon need to find a place of his own and he had no idea where that place could be, if it wasn't on a ship he didn't like it that was for sure. He put down his glass and smiled. "and you? planning on going anywhere yourself?"
She was somewhat different from the rest of the people at the bar. It was odd to think it but something about her screamed that she was wrong. Jace was still getting used to being an 'Enhanced-Human' but something about the way she was made his skin crawl. It was like he was standing next to someone who was casting magic constantly, but he could have explained the feeling just by being in this city. She was an epicenter of it but their was still a lot of magic in this city, and his new arcane enhanced body didn't always act well when around other large sources of magic. He decided that it was best to not comment for all he knew it was very possible he was just picking up reverb from the tower.
This continent had so far caused him nothing but problems, only two days ago did he end up having to fight through a full blown undead horde, a memory that made him visibly shudder. He took another heavy drink trying to forget the shambling of the zombies, and the nightmare fuel that would probably give him a permanent phobia of the walking dead. Soon he would find a ship off this place and he would be free to get out of here. he sighed at the delight of the thought before asking. "Wouldn't by any chance know where you could get a ship from here would you?"
Planning, no planning had no part in it it, however, Rydia was traveling. She just did not put much thought behind where, and, considering where she came from, she would not be able to give name to many places out there – other than what existed in her former realm. Though, it was not like she had been here very long. Coming from the forests that ailed in many of directions, and, in some cases led up into familiar, yet, entirely different mountain-scapes, she had happened upon Mysidia; a town with a familiar name, and location, but, still foregin.
She finished off what little remained of her water and gently placed the glass back upon the counter. The barkeep looked up at the sound of it, yet, Rydia waved him off with a gesture. He had a gruff sort of look and mumbled something or other, most likely having to do with the fact that she was not spending much Gil, barely any at all in fact. Water, nearly free even in a place not surrounded by it, that held true. Eventually, he would come and swipe the glass away, polishing it with an already-dirty-rag before flipping it over and placing it in a sink filled with a few others. But, right now he had to serve other customers a couple whom had since taken place among them barside.
Ryida swapped seats, sliding down until she sat next to Jace. A few seconds later a couple whom had previously been playing a card-game (and now doubt had just busted out), took her original position. “Why, you don't want me to go with you, do you?” She smirked, playing off the sentiment, which in truth there was none; she had been joking. Regardless, she let the conversation drift, past on the topic as well. He needed to know where to find a ship, or, a port which would have transport. Of course any of the others present may have been able to answer that, but, she could not venture a guess, not since everything had changed.
“Sorry, these lands are unknown to me.” They were and were not, but, she gave a shrug with her statement anyways. All he would have to do was follow the coastline and as long as civilization existed, he would find a port-town where he could barter for transport off the continent to whatever else was out there.
Before he came in, she had mostly been listening to the casual conversation of the locales, picking out names when she heard them, but, so far much had been pointless. Drunkards the lot of them, or, gamblers, and, in some cases both. They were not exactly in the 'studious' mind-set right now, mage-or-not. At least she knew the planet's name. “Take trail to the coast, you should find a seaside township towards the North or South.” The only advice she could offer.
This feeling… she couldn’t describe it. Plainly put, her body was tingling with a weird sort of energy. She felt more alive than she’d ever been. This whole sensation started shortly after getting to the Mysidia continent. A group of Garden students had come here to Mysidia on a training expedition accompanied by 3 SeeD and 2 instructors. The expedition was supposed to be a bit of field training in the art of surveillance and espionage or some sort, though some of the less studious garden students here just saw it as a sightseeing field trip. They were supposed to be learning how to navigate through foreign terrain as well as learn how to mingle and fit in with groups of foreigners. After all, they would be dispatched to all corners of the world for anything from assassinations to spying, once they were SeeD’s. For reason, they could stay cooped up in the familiar garden all the time.
That being said, Reuna still had no idea just how she had reached this place. She had been quite tired after their ship had landed off the coast and they had set up camp. She had just finished securing their perimeter and being taught how to properly do so when the team chosen to do scouting departed into the wilderness. She, set somewhere between the team guarding the camp, and the team keeping communications with Garden, took a nap. It was late noon then. But now, it was early morning, so the rest of that day, and now, another day, must have passed between then.
She was wearing casual clothes now, something that made her look like a civilian and some sort of magic user. It was instructed beforehand to wear something less conspicuous during this outing, so no one wore the garden uniform today. But that doesn’t explain how she got to this city. Simply put, there was nothing nearby where they landed, so she must have traveled by foot a good distance from camp. However, she wasn’t tired or weary from some sort of trip. Instead, she felt invigorated, like she’d just exfoliated her skin and refreshed her whole body.
She stood rather coy on the edge of the town staring towards its center where a large tower stood. She felt drawn towards, again, for a reason she could describe or understand. But she kept looking behind herself to the wilderness to where she had come. Perhaps she’d poke her nose about a bit and figure out just exactly where she was. She couldn’t exactly figure out how to get back to where she was without figuring out her current location. So, she explored the town a bit, quickly locating something like a pub. It would be a good starting place, as with all the people around here, she could easily gather whatever information she wanted. However, once she poke her head in, she found the place packed and rather rowdy. She didn’t quite know where to start, so she surveyed the faces for a moment, obviously looking a bit like a lost child.
OOC:Just an entrance post for now. I'll actually do something next round
Jace blinked. That was the best advice the woman could manage follow the coastline in either direction and you could find a boat. It figgured if she wasn't local, but that kind of advice didn't do much for actually helping him on his way. he rubbed his head with a stray hand, and sighed he didn't have much to say on this matter. She was probably right but that would be one hell of an annoying walk, and he wasn't truly happy with what he had just been told, that said he was still bound to try it.
He took another look over the young woman, slightly wondering why she didn't have a little more clothing on. He wasn't ungrateful, but he wasn't quiet used to it as well being born in Zozo a lawless town in the veldt's meant that one didn't go around showing any more skin then was necessary, and hearing that she wasn't a local just made him wonder where she was from, also he had to wonder if she wanted to come with him. He was looking for a boat and a crew, and she had just made a slightly joking offer, she could probably be useful. "I guess you could come with me, but it all depends on what your looking for in life. I don't tend to stay in one place or with one group for very long its all part of my line of work."
He wasn't about to tell anyone his profession at least not until he had a full boat and crew. the crew being the easier part of the equation. while his primary concern was on his ship, his old one having been blown to bits while in Galbaldian waters, so far no one had truly recognized him, and he had enjoyed being dead, but he didn't want to keep the world from knowing the truth for too long. He loved the high seas it was where he belonged, and that just meant that he was slightly desperate. "I can offer adventure, and cash if you have the stomach for hard work."
The door behind them creaked open yet again, and jace turned his golden eyes to see a second young woman entering the tavern. this one seemed just lost and some how more out of place then rydia had been. Even so this was an odd town and he payed her no mind unless she walked up to them turning back the bartender with a finnished drink he ordered the same hard ale with a smile. so far the stuff hadn't even started to affect him, but his mind was more on the need of a ship than anything else. He was just thankful that he was far away from galbaldia and those annoying SeeD mercenaries. it was hard enough to do a dishonest days work without them always breathing down his neck.
Once, long ago Rydia could remember going off on an adventure, granted, that one had not been her choice. The fires had burned that day and into the night their flickering embers brought a entire village to its knees. Charred cinders turned about in the breezy air and two dark figures held torches, their faces lit with dull-drum hues of bustling flame. She sighed, and the memory vanished while the tender of bar poured another glass of ale. Again, he looked to her, and, again she in turn shook her head: no she did not wish of anything further. Somewhere behind her, below the roar of gamblers and drinkers, a door creaked opened. Although she hardly heard it, only glanced upon the shifting eyes of Jace next to her.
The way he danced with words made her wary. Not so much so that he was unpleasant, in fact quite to the contrary he was rather pleasant and polite, rather, a bit overly friendly. Perhaps he was more desperate then he let on, but, the Cetra had no place in saying so, only reasoning that she had been away from people for far too long. She could not help but to wonder if that was part of the reason she had been sent off, practically banished. However, there had been . . . Golbez, the threat to the entire world and too much at stake to remain at peace herself. Even now, no matter how desperately she would have liked to see the world aboard a ship with no other care, she could not; something had changed.
Did she not offer in jest...? Grabbing hold of the situation as the bartender came forward again hearing the Pirate's order, more ale. It clouds the mind, but, opens the spirit, had not someone told her that before? After awhile even the strongest memories become only fragments, pictures in a reel that are split; much of her childhood before the Feymarch was like that now. Still no harm in the company, nor, in the crowd that filled the inn to capacity in the midday rush. For now, it was best to play things close. After all they were strangers to her just as she was to them, one could say so just by looking at her attire as Jace did.
“Did I say I sought adventure?” She smiled, mostly to herself, and, then did gesture the barkeep over. “Ale,” she said simply. Well, her joke may have suggested it, but, she surely did not outright say so. While in one respect she did seek adventure, she also desired a purpose and an understanding of why she had been brought here. Despite the longing to be free of that burden, she could not simply wander like she wanted. In the back of her mind like a plague a darkness rested, and, it would not dissipate until sated.
“What I wish is for normalcy,”she explained as the fresh beverage was placed in front of her. In thanks she nodded and almost immediately laid a few extra Gil onto the counter. “I have lost something, well, more than just something; but, before I can cast my life into the wind, I need to find it.” She could have explained better, but, not without going deep into her past, and, more importantly how she had really on lived in this world for a few days. When her say was done, she calmly sipped at the ale, mostly grimacing at its taste before asking: “You actually pay, to drink this? Frankly, she found it disgusting.
Reuna began surveying faces rather quickly. The land was unfamiliar, as were the faces, the people who owned the faces, and the very atmosphere of this area. As it was, this was her first time leaving the Balamb continent, meaning the first time she’s gone some place where the temperament of the people were unknown. The smell of cheap alcohol permeated the air like a thick mist, not like she could tell the difference between fine and cheap booze. She had no experience with the substance in the first place. Nor did she have any experience dealing with drunkards.
Many of the men within the building were both very loud and rowdy, or within an alcohol induced stupor. She was weary of those who seemed rowdy, if not from the stench surrounding them, then from their whistling and drunken cat calls. One table near the door actually had a man that had called out to her and asked her to sit on his lap and share his company. Of course, she denied the request, barely coming towards the table for a number of reasons. Firstly, she didn’t know what he meant by sit on his lap. It seemed like an odd request. There was also the fact that, his motives were questionable at best, aided by his smell, which repulsed her. Luckily, he was too drunk to rise from his seat.
Another table, possibly less wasted and drunk asked her what she was doing here, claiming that this was no place for a child, which… was true. When she tried asking questions, the man put his arm around her and said if she sat with him for a while, maybe he’d talk to her. Request was again denied. However, that’s when she spotted the two setting deep in, near the bartender. She couldn’t judge their character in the least, but if anything, they didn’t seem to be as drowned in alcohol as many of the men around were. Furthermore, one of them was a girl, older than her, but still a girl, which made her infinitely more personable, given the situation.
By this time however, a slight blush had formed upon her cheeks. The men around here were making her feel an odd mixture of fear, nervousness, and embarrassment. She was sure there was a word for it, but she did not know of its existence. Making her away towards the two, she cleared her voice as she got closer then said, “Excuse me, I don’t wish to bother you too much, but, my I ask a serious question?” She paused for a moment then said, “Do you know where and what this place is?” She stood a few feet away rather coyly, not yet bothering with a seat. She looked between the two, one being a man dressed as though he might be rouge of some sort, or a mercenary maybe, while the girl was dressed more so like a mage.
Jace let out a hard bout of laughter at Rydia's comment when it came to normalcy, and paying for ale. He smiled and put a hand on her shoulder as he drank a little more from his glass. the ale its self was pretty low quality certainly not the stuff he would normally pay for. He gave a small shrug and waved off the bar tender. "Well normally you don't pay for to drink this stuff. I am just in a situation where i have too. No the kind you pay for tastes much worse then this tavern swill, but then no one ever really drinks it for the taste."
Removing his hand he gave a small smile and glanced around the room his eyes set into the new commer who was slowly approaching them. Another cute woman by the looks of it. He gave her a small wave as she spoke to them. She seemed shy and out of place which really in this kind of a location would just make her a giant target for other people. he rubbed his head lightly. her question was a lot like his only she seemed to be compleatly lost. heaven forbid that either of these woman ever visited his home town of Zozo they would be stabbed and worse in the first few hours.
"You are in a tavern in the town of Mysdia." it felt odd to have to tell someone their location. he thought the giant tower emanating magic just outside would be a very large clue, as it was practically one of the wonders of the world. so naturally she wasn't a local of any kind, be it to this Continent or possibly to this world. "This towns practically famous to black mages, the tower outside is one of the wonders of the world. like midgars floating disk, or the gardens... gardens. It's hard to imagine anyone passing it by and not realizing where they are."
Jace smiled and continued to drink. The girl seemed far too tense for any amount of conversation, and he jestured to a seat beside him "take a seat and don't appoligize, in a place like this it's never a smart move.". His golden eyes glowing as he examined her. the constant glow of his eyes slightly illuminating his face and adding to the air of magic that was throughout the entire city. he gave a slight yawn as time was moving.
"Okay Rydia no worries, but we all lose stuff. It's part of life... just a few weeks ago i could proudly announce myself as a captain, now look at me, no ship no crew." He took another drink to pause for a moment. "Even so it's the adventure of getting those things back that i want. Normalcy is a weird word because in the end what the hell is normal?"
The next few sips of the 'ale' did nothing to sate Rydia's thirst, let alone actually taste like anything other than what she suspected was distilled piss of some beast or another. In one respect, the man beside her had been correct: 'no one drinks it for the taste' he noted within a bout of laughter. Although, she was blissfully unaware of why they did in fact, drink it. Cringing, she pushed the glass away – as though she tasted it by simply looking at it – and glanced over to Jace whom had placed a hand upon her shoulder. Tilting her head she wondered what exactly was behind the gesture, but, as quickly as he did so, he removed it, going about his drink much like those at the tables did now (with a hearty and upbeat disposition). He smiled after that, so, she just shrugged it off.
She would have heard the younger girl's question had it not been for the approaching barkeep, and, his glaring eyes. He stared for a moment at the nearly filled, yet, obviously tossed aside beverage, then, glared at Rydia as though he expected her to complain, or, in some other manner explain why she had not finished it. Instead, she just waved him away and nodded. Somewhere behind his motions there was a grunt of disapproval as he poured what remained of the nearly untouched ale down the sink. After all, this may be an inn with low quality booze, but, at least it could be decently cleanly. A waste, of an admittedly foul liquid – but a waste nevertheless.
Regardless, now the Cetra was all-too-aware of the presence of another while the words from Jace echoed and rebounded off the walls. He happened to be speaking over the crowd when he began, and, without realizing naturally adjusted his voice to cope to mostly the shouting and rabble rousing of those playing cards. At this, Rydia smiled and with an elbow on the counter, she just listened to his explanation towards a question that she had asked herself only a few days ago. No doubt he thought it a strange one, and perhaps it was; however, between the three of them it was not as uncommon as he might suspect.
He told of the wonders of Gaia, which in truth, Rydia did not know about. Save of course, for the tower of Mysidia which she had saw with her own eyes upon entering the city proper. The strangest of the sort: Midgar's floating disk, not only struck a resonating chord of disbelief, but, caused her gaze to linger back on him. A floating disk? She had not the foggiest idea of what that could be, but, for now there was no need to bring up a topic that could lead directly to her own origins; as far as she was concerned, there need not be any inquiry into her past, and, she would not be the one to open the door to it.
Time ebbed on, and the door shut, closed and opened behind them whilst they talked. Eventually, the conversation swung her way again, and, in a way that Jace perhaps had not done so, she would attempt to make the newcomer feel a bit more welcome. “Toss into the fray a bit of chaos, and, I suspect you will be happy wherever you go, Jace.” A hint a malice lingered in her tone, but, her face told a story of a different color, keeping home to a warm smile that remained when she focused on the shy-one. “Would you tell me your name?” That smile flashed and she blinked, “I'm Rydia.”
Reuna was still rather flushed, flustered, and tense when she approached the male and female at the counter. But the male was very inviting without the same weird threatening demeanor of the other men in the tavern. He waved, and in response, she shuffled over closer and listened to his explanation. She immediately felt very stupid as he spoke. Yes, Mysidia’s grand Tower of magic. It was indeed a well-known structure. Her eyes widened as he explained it, for she had indeed heard of it, and even learned a small modicum about it in her studies. However, she had never seen as much as a picture of it, or the town. Considering how large it was, it made her worry about just how far from her camp she had wondered… as it wasn’t even viewable through the forest initially.
When the man gestured for her to take a seat and not apologize, naturally, she couldn’t see why you wouldn’t apologize for disturbing someone in a social setting. Wouldn’t that be rude? “But… why would apologizing not be a smart move? What’s going to happen?” Clearly, she didn’t understand the environment much. Still, she took a seat, as was the first person to offer her one without also offering their lap. He also appeared least affect by intoxication, at the moment, and thus didn’t give her the same vibes that turned her away from the others.
The tavern was still very noisy and boisterous, but it was relatively calm up here. The man eventually got a bit louder as he spoke. It seemed he was some sort of seaman or captain of a ship, and now, no longer was, for whatever reasons. The girl however, she had no idea what her story was, not that she had asked. More so, she was still lost. This place was called Mysidia, but it did her no good not to know where it was in relation to where she had wandered from in her sleep… Now how do you explain that one?
While the man talked, she listened. Apparently, she had walked in on a conversation, thus why she felt like apologizing, so she stayed quiet while they went at their discussion in rounds. Apparently, there was a pause in the conversation that they had been having, as eventually, the female turned to her and asked her name. “Um uh…. My name is...” her throat suddenly felt very parched. She cleared her throat gently then began again. “I’m sorry. My name is Reuna. Nice to meet you Rydia.” She turned her attention back to the man who had been called Jace for a moment. “And, uh, Jace?”
The young girl glanced behind herself toward the door as it opened and closed again, as if she had a place to be, but too lost to figure out how she should get there, or even if she should go. The mission was to learn how to collect Intel, scout the land, and interact with foreigners without giving away your identity and purpose. So could she just… leave and return to the group after learning nothing and doing nothing? It’d look poor on her account, having nothing to show for a questionable number of days of absence. She’d get in trouble, that’s for sure. Maybe instead, she stay and explore long enough to say that she completed a part of the training mission alone… or not… she sighed once and slumped forward in her chair, resting against the counter.
