Now we all know how great the Final Fantasy series are, otherwise we wouldn't be part of the site. So let me ask you what would your final fantasy game consist of, what would your story be? I mean Square Enix keep coming up with storys for games out of their ears, not to be mean but some of them aren't really that good but we play them because they are Final Fantasy games.
So members of JE what would your final fantasy be about?

ooooh! Only because I'm obsessed with Machina, I would have the series be set in almost a Romeo/Juliet theme....with Juliet's side being the one with all the Machina. Romeo would be a snooty little brat who believe divine providence is the way to go, and is full on with the war against the Machina warriors. And of course he meets his Juliet, believing she is a captive taken by the other side. But the kicker is, she is the leader of the rebellion (and not a pacifistic one either, believing her side has the right to conduct their use of the Machina and nothing is wrong.) But! With the loss of their leader, her second in command, or something to that extent, takes over and having been one to never see her ideals, takes control of the army and provokes an all out war.
And with Juliet wanting to keep her disguise (after finding out how much Romeo hates her army), he lets this happen in silence...until innocent people start littering the streets. And then she must make a choice! Risk her new-found love with Romeo and right the wrong, or continue to watch in silence, hoping the sides with 'magically' come to an agreement? (Surely we all know what happens...)
And then Romeo must make a choice as well! Continue the war, or make peace!
But yea..that would be my idea. Terran vs. Machina on a grand scale.

I think I'd try a subversion of the classic theme. It seems that in a lot of Final Fantasy's (2, 6, 9, and 12, to the best of my knowledge) the story seems to center around an "Evil Empire" that takes over other countries, while our heroes do everything in their power to stop them.
So I say, why not flip it? Say, an already established world-wide empire is weakening, the government can't keep common law, restlessness in the streets. Our protagonists, most of whom are loyal members of the Empire, get wind of a secret organization and a prophecy of some warrior that aims to destroy the country, sending everything into uncontrolled chaos.
So the story would center around these loyalists and their quest to keep the Empire intact and figure out how to make it come back stronger than ever. Whether or not that makes them the heroes or the villains of the story kinda depends on how you view the whole "Evil Empire" thing in the first place, but really it could go either way. But the difference here is that these characters would not be defecting to the "side of justice" like all the bratty disillusioned soldiers in all the other games (and there was usually at least one). Anywho, that's mine. Next?

My Final Fantasy, hmm
To be honest, I'd want a story where you don't need to be the Hero, I'd like the chance to be the Villain of the story, to be the one that wants to conquer the world or wants to bring about the end, but that ain't going to happen
