Bahamut landed on all fours and lowered himself down for his passengers to get off. Summoner Adiona released her vice like grip from Bahamut and slid off down his arm, she steadied herself as her feet touched the ground. Flecks of dirt found their way under her feet through her open toed black sandals. She brushed back her long black hair and looked to Bahamut, she raised her right arm and began to stroke his face. The young Summoner turned around to look on to Zanarkand, her fate rested here as did Spiras. She shuddered and quickly wrapped her arms over her chest.
"It feels....wrong this place."
Something didn't feel quite right to her....something was off. Once everyone had gotten off of Bahamut the large black dragon flew back into the sky waiting to be summoned once more by a Summoner of Yevon. Lady Adiona took a step forwards dropping her arms by her side, her mind wandered back to the attack on Bevelle. Gesthal troops were here according to that transmission and no doubt they were still here...
Getting off of Bahamut was easy for Nephia as she kind of rolled off the beast she had been clinging to for dear life. Such an event had never happened with her in the past and the sensation of flying was odd at best. Though she would admit to liking flying a little more than sailing after her last experience on a boat.
Getting her feet back underneath her she stood wiping off the dirt and dust off herself and her armor. As she did that she hear Adiona send off the large beast back to wherever it emerged from when she summoned the beast. Hearing her mention how the place felt wrong as she looked at it. Nephia turned her head to look over the city of the dead. In the pit of her stomach she felt this unnerving unease spread through her. As if the planet itself was crying up through these ruins.
"This place... just feels off to me as well Adiona. Though I cannot say as your people know these ruins much better than I could ever. Let us hope we find what we need before anything comes along and makes it impossible for us to accomplish such a task."
After she finished speaking she knelt down beside a pool of water and used it to quickly clean off her face and arms with a few splashes of water. As soon as she was done she stood and waited for the others to be ready to go down the path.
Jace's hands had frozen from high altitude flight and fear, his body was numb and his movements trembled. He didn't so much as dismount from the giant creature as he did fall off, hitting the ground with a hard thud. He laid on the ground for a long moment his body resetting, and his stomach roiling with pain.
He turned away from the group scrambling to his hands and knee's as he heaved out most of his bodily fluid's onto the ground. His body shivered as he wretched out all of his stomach fluids, which showed up more as a black paste then actual bile. By the time he was done he had spit out the last of what remained inside him, and was well into dry heaves that only served to wrack his body with pain. He couldn't tell if it was an adverse reaction to flying, or to the aeon himself but he felt sickened to his core, and as he stood up he wiped away the last of the black sludge from his face. finding the pool of water that he could use to make himself at least somewhat decent as he turned back towards the group.
His arcane enriched eyes were able to glance the city in the distance, There soft glow was slightly brighter from the atmosphere around them as he could feel the familial charge of magic through the air. He clutched his chest lightly trying too ring in his breath. He was vastly more pale then usual, but that could have been due to anything.
"Never... flying... again..." He said harshly. He could hear them talk about the place around him, but for Jace, he was still trying to stop the ringing in his ears.
As Bahamut lands Lucius hops off of the dragon king and lands on the hard ground of Zanarkand with a smile across his face, he was home once more, a feeling of peace and serenity washed over him for the first few moments before Lady Adiona breaks the mood by sharing her sixth sense which snaps him back to reality with a sharp turn he looks to her and grips lifegiver tightly.
"You sure?"
He mutters just as Nephia voices her assent with Adiona's feelings causing Lucius to sigh and turns around. If something was wrong, which it probably was what with the two ladies agreeing on it he had to see what it was but the smart thing was to stick together, if it was some sinspawn it'd be serious trouble for him alone or if it was something worse he'd be dead meat.
"Well we better be careful then, we'll wait for Jace to gather himself before we move on. Its better for us to move on slowly but as one."
[STYLE=width: 281px; background-color: #876c9c; text-align: justify; float: right; filter: alpha(opacity=45); -moz-opacity: .45; opacity:.45; padding: 10px; overflow: auto; height: 300px;] Lady Adiona slowly turned her head to look to Jace as he wretched and brought up something awful, her face twisted slightly as she watched the poor guy suffer. A cold chill ran down her back which caused Adiona to look back over Zanarkand, it was hard to believe that this place was Lucius's home. She glanced to him blushing slightly before looking back to Jace a little concerned.
"I can't say I have seen someone have such an adverse reaction to flying or an aeon....perhaps such a strong connection to a powerful magical creature was a little too much."
It could be any number of reasons he was feeling so poorly but he needed to keep up with the group, what may come next might be too much for him to handle but that would be a bridge to cross if they came across it. Summoner Adiona began to walk slowly further into Zanarkand, a look of determination and resolve on her face. This was it. Zanarkand ahead and the end of her journey and days.
"Let us proceed with caution, it is the final step to obtaining the Final Aeon....we cannot fall here."

As Jace retched she turned away and gazed out at the bay of water and the ruined city. It was hard for her to imagine what this place could of looked like during its hay day. She was snapped back to reality as the others began speaking. Listening to each and every person she stretched her shoulder.
"Caution will be a good thing for this area. We are near the place that those soldiers that attacked Bevelle came from are we not? Not to mention what may of taken up residence within the ruins of the city."
Taking several steps she stayed in front of Adiona and the others as they began to move into Zanarkand.
After washing away the vile fluids that made up his body, he shook slightly with a chill. He took out a jacket from his bag putting it on just so he could cover himself. He started listening now to the others saying that they all needed to stay close together. He couldn't have agreed more even in his feverish state. There was something about the air here that made this place haunting to behold and unfriendly to the air. It was impossible for him to imagine this place as a city, and the few times he had seen it at a distance on the waters, this up close look was far more haunting.
"Right with you." he said walking near the back. He looked at Adiona the only person who had spoken about his condition. Nodding to her he wasn't sure if it was flying or the Aeon that had caused it, but he knew he was still shaking from how badly it had wracked his body with pain. "It... happens every now and then.... if im close enough... to a strong source of magic" he said lightly his voice sounding harsh like his throat had been burned slightly.
"It's nothing though." He said a blatant lie. His body was poisoned, and from what he could gather he was anything but fine, magic was a cancer that would slowly kill him, but for the mean time, He was alive and that gave him the ability to tag along with these people. Besides no one could tell him if the poisoning was directly lethal or not, for all he knew it could take years for his body to completely break down, or he could find a way to fix himself before then. Either way it was his problem and not something he desired to dwell on, at least not in this place. Where dedat

As the words left Jaces mouth you would all hear a strange sound of something rising and in the next moment over the the nearby ruins fly a barrage of small metallic objects with a large jet of smoke following behind each of them as they are obviously flying towards you.
With a large explosion you are all sent flying appart and rolling across the ground before the source of the missles appear from behind the ruins with a series of loud thuds rise the forms of several of the Gesthalian Empires Magitek Armours with a squad of soldiers backing them up.

{Turn 1: The suprise of the attack forced Lady Adiona to the ground, she laid there for a few moments just watching what happened next. She felt a rage within her rise to the surface as she saw her Guardians fall to the ground. Only Jace barely managed to survive the attack caused by the Gesthal army. They were on sacred ground here and causing havoc. This she could not allow. Adiona returned to her feet and her eyes glazed over a pure obsidian. She walked to Lucius's side and bent down placing her hand over his heart, she focused all of her magic into bringing him back. Life used on Lucius -50 MP +25% Lucius HP}
{Turn 2: Lady Adiona turned to look to Nephia who had also fallen in the suprise attack. She shot a glare to the Gesthal army as she bent down and touched Nephia's chest. She concentrated once more to bring Nephia back. If they were going to defeat these...people then everyone needed to be conscious. Life used on Nephia - 50MP +25% Nephia HP}
Jace staggered hit by an ambush he was knocked down barely surviving, but his world was flooded with pain. He was left barely alive but rather broken, blood trickled down from cuts and abrasions. His breath came to him rather painfully, and he was left with a major question of why he had been left alive after that, if these advasaries could take down people much stronger than him in one hit, how did he survive? He shook his head the question didn't really matter at this moment.
Rage seethed through his body and as his blood boiled his body glowed slightly he got up staggering slightly as he stepped forward, raising his arm he let the energy flow through him charging his spells to their greatest potential. "Catch." As he spoke he pulled down his arm and a shooting star was conjured over their heads the celestial rock sent flying down to the ground towards the first of the creatures who had just attacked his traveling comrads
Jace didn't even wait too see if the first shot had done any damage before throwing a second rock with his other arm both comets were sent crashing down upon the same foe.

Nephia turned just in time for everything to slow down as she saw the rocket and then black nothing. Her head spun as the darkness surrounded all of her feeling except pain. Then as soon as the pain had engulfed her it had left. A bright white light encompased her eyes and she felt strength reenter her body. Slowly she stood and shook her head as she looked across the small battlefield. "T..Thank you Adiona..."
She spoke softly as she was took in the battlefield. Seeing the two large mechs she raised her arm weakly. Chanting to herself she fired off two bolts of electricity. The bolts twisted through the air one toward each of the mechanical suits.
Action 1: Impossible Death @armour 1 dealing 600Dmg,
Lucius inflicted with Slow and Vit-0 .
Slow [Lose 2 actions] and Vit-0 [take an extra 400dmg from attacks] now twice as affective. [0/1 turns]
Lucius HP set to 1.
Lucius gains 25MP from revive spell.
Lucius grunts as the revive spell washes over him, he felt so weak that he had been taken out in a single blow, with an angry sigh he slams his hands into the dirt and pushes himself up and onto his feet before he turns looking for his weapon.
"Thank you"
He says to Adiona as he notices his Ji nearby and rushes towards it kicking it up into his hand before he turns and readies the ji above his shoulder aiming for the Machine riding soldier that had taken him out, with a grunt he takes a breath in and pulls his arm back and gets ready to throw Lifegiver at his foe but a sudden burst of energy washes over him and he sees Lifegiver impaled through his target before he lowers his now empty hands to his eyes. With a startled shout Lucius falls to his knees as all the energy within him vanishes and his body feels like stone.

The pilot of the first machine keels over dead but the machine remains standing, however before you could celebrate the defeat of one the Soldiers that had been escourting them catch up and take up positions around the two machines and together raise their guns at the group while one man starts climbing up the second machine and pulls the deadman out of it. The first machine however seems to remain motionless for a moment seemingly taking no action.
Round Two [Battle Theme] Special Rule! Ranged attacks can target the pilots of the magitec walkers allowing you to take them out without destroying the machine.

{Turn 1: Lady Adiona turned back around to face their opponents, she glanced to them all before taking a step backwards and pulling out her summoning stave from its holster. "Hang on to something..." The Yevon symbol glowed underneath her feet and from the clouds above flew down Valefor who landed beside her taking her place in the battle. Summoned Valefor}

Watching Adiona summon Valefor was something Nephia had seen once or twice in the past. Yet it still amazed her with how the creature descended from the heavens as it did. Then came the blast of energy that engulfed a mass of the oncoming soldier which she shielded her eyes from the dust the blast kicked up. As the dust settled she raised her spear and looked for whatever may still be standing.
Seeing the large armor still standing there she took a breath and focused her magics down the spear and toward the armor. Two large arcing bolts of electricity came off the head of her spear and impacted the armor.
His body feels like lead and he could barely move, even breathing was slow and unstable the toll that whatever he had just managed to do was a heavy one, he was useless this time but at least he had stalled the foes for long enough for Adiona to summon forth Valefor and unleash his power upon them.

The Aeon that Lady Adiona summons unleashes its attack upon the soldiers the ray of energy slowly burns across the battle field, the blast of energy easily overwhelms the soldiers along with the pilots of the two Magitech armours leaving the battlefield with just you and the still smoldering forms of the two Magitech armours, which surprisingly mostly intact, however was this a sign of things to come?
Battle Over
Taking several moments to make sure the fight was over nothing occurs leaving you all feeling a little safer at the moment, however it was obvious to all of you that going into the depths of Zanarkand would not be as easy as it normally was and well, Zanarkand was not a walk through a Garden.

She placed her katana back in its sheath at her side, her gaze then looked towards her two guardians Lucius and Nephia. They had fallen pretty early but their enemies had been strong and in greater numbers....either way that wouldn't make a difference to Sin.
"Is everyone ok?"
Lady Adiona was truly concerned and if one or both of them couldn't go on they would have to be left behind. Adiona pushed that thought from her mind as she turned to face the road ahead....they were so close now....so close to her death.
"We must make haste....I fear they have made it to the Final Aeon..."

Staggering herself she caught her breath as the last of the machines where destroyed. Leaning against White she steadied herself and looked over at Adiona. Nodding to the summoner she spoke up.
"Yes I am fine Adiona. Thank you for the assistance."[/color
She bowed to Adiona as she had caught her breath and she returned her spear to her back. Placing it back within its holder she turned to begin to move the moment either Lucius or Adiona moved. Speaking up once again her tone was serious
"I think that is a good idea to get moving... We need to get there. I may not be from Spira but even I know those men inside that place cannot be anything good..."
Double checking her equipment she began to move not waiting for te others as she would make sure the way was clear of more of those troopers.
Lucius could barely pull himself onto his feet as the battle ended, his body moaned at him loudly as he stands up, staggering slightly forward as dizziness crept over him and cuases him to crash back down to the ground as his body decides 'not today' and with a loud and restless sigh Lucius closes his eyes and takes a deep breath, his Lifegiver and his materia was stil impaled within the corpse of one of the pilots so all he could do was lay here.
"I could do with a healing spell, my materia is in a corpse over there and well I'm over here and my body is currently striking on me. So if you could help"
He says with a mocking smile annoyed that he wasn't even able to stand right now, he could only wait for a heal spell to restore his strength.

Lady Adiona closed her eyes and muttered a few words when a bright white light shone from under her hand which then vanished. Adiona looked to Lucius and then quickly away as she felt her cheeks flush pink.
"That should get you back on your feet..."
The Summoner ran her hand through her long black hair which was now becoming quite dry with split ends, she looked ahead knowing her fate lay with the Final Aeon and that no matter what happened...she would die.

Nephia stopped in her tracks and turned to look at Adiona and Lucius. She smiled as she looked at them. Not being in range of their speaking she would not hear the back and forth between the pair until they caught up to her. Taking a few moments she was taking several breaths fully restoring her breath and restoring herself for the next combat.
Taking her spear she swung it to make sure she was leaning against her spear as she stabbed it into the ground. She stood there leaning as she waited for the other two.
[STYLE=width: 281px; background-color: #876c9c; text-align: justify; float: right; filter: alpha(opacity=45); -moz-opacity: .45; opacity:.45; padding: 10px; overflow: auto; height: 300px;] Lady Adiona stood up and stretched her arms above her head, the end was so close now and the touch of the death was almost upon her. Lucius was now healed and ready to continue on with the pilgrimage. Would he even want to after everything that they had been through. Nephia was ready to set off as usual, since the confrontation they had barely spoken two words.
"I suppose we should set off...I can only imagine what is ahead."
Adiona felt a cold breeze and then a shiver run up her spine, the Summoner wrapped her arms across her chest as she slowly began to take the lead towards the end of the pilgrimage.

Her entire demeanor was one of serious determination. She knew she had a job to do and that the job was to see Adiona to the end of this road. Whatever fate was to be garnered there at the end of the road will be explained at that time. The large spear upon her back made a faint clattering noise as she moved her body to look over at the others.
"I scouted out before you awoke, There is nothing wandering this immediate path but the fiends got much thicker the closer to the city we get."
With her words spoke she turned the chill breeze catching her hair causing it to blow underneath her arms. She was not the same person that had signed onto the trip back around Macalania. The incident in Bevelle had changed her from the happy go lucky woman to a rather jaded and serious person. Raising her voice again she spoke.
"I have already refilled our provisions as well. We will not have to stop again..."
Taking a slow step the metal made light grinding noises as she stepped on the stones slowly getting ahead of the others.
