[atrb=style, font-family: Tahoma; word-spacing: 1px; text-align: justify; border: 1px dashed #731cff; color: #00000; padding: 10px]The journey from Macalania to Bevelle had been long, but with the help with an airship it had been quite a relaxing one. It stopped every so often to pick up new passengers which with the new magic and power Adiona had obtained she showed them off. The children found the sparkling white magic cure very entertaining, if there was more room she would have summoned a few aeons for them. Though using them in that sense was probably not the best thing. The young summoner looked out of the airship porthole as it began its descent into Bevelle, she had finally come home after being away so long. It seemed from the outside that not much had changed, she with her guardians would probably be hurried into the temple to claim one of the most powerful aeons of all. Bahamut.
The airship landed smoothly and Lady Adiona rushed ahead bumping into Lucius slightly as she made her way off the airship. She was greeted with a warm breeze, sun and a blue sky. This was her home and it looked more glorious than ever. Adiona closed her eyes and took a few deep breaths. It would only be a short walk to the temple and then alongside her guardians she could obtain Bahamut and then begin one of the last treks up to Zanarkand where she would obtain the Final Aeon and then take on Sin for the last time. She didn't know how it would end but she was going to give it her best shot.

Nephia was nervous the entire trip as she hated being inside of confined spaces so far from the graces of Mother Gaia as she would call it, but she was assisting Adiona so there she was. Spending the entire trip below deck she would spend most of her time meditating as she continued to find out why it was that the planet had not spoken with her since the shipwreck. Though she did rise when she heard them exclaim Bevell was their upcoming stop.
Nephia would appear from below deck and would be alongside Adiona off to her left as they would disembark the airship. Not knowing much of the Yevon culture or Spiran people made her feel a little uncomfortable here inside if she had to guess was one of their holiest cities. Closing her eyes she would swallow down a large breath and exhale deeply clearing her mind. Looking over at Adiona she would give her a smile and would speak.
"Adiona shall we get this going and pray inside the Cloister and get your people some peace?"
Lucius smiled as the Airship landed in Bevelle, he had spent most of the journey keeping an eye on Adiona as she had revealed in the technical wonders of the Airship as well as playing with the children, it was a charming sight to behold Lady Adiona amusing children with the wonders of magic. Aside from keeping a vigil over Adiona Lucius kept to himself until the ship came to land and as the Lady Adiona bumps into him he smiles warmly at her before he follows her off of the airship. Stepping off of the airship Lucius smiles and looks around at the city of Bevelle, a city that he had not to long ago left. Smiling he could still some signs of damaged caused by the Al Bhed in their last terrorist assault with stolen tech.
With a clap of his hands he steps up alongside Adiona and Nephia, turning to the pair of them he smiles again before speaking up.
"Such a lovely little metropolis, would you like to lead the way Adiona or would you like me to lead the way to the temple?"

[atrb=style, font-family: Tahoma; word-spacing: 1px; text-align: justify; border: 1px dashed #731cff; color: #00000; padding: 10px]Lady Adiona spun around once more to face Lucius as he spoke, she saw behind him that Seymour had left the party being ushered away by another maester and a few Bevelle guards. She wanted to catch up with him but the look on his face stopped her dead in her tracks, something must be going on. Her heart wanted to follow him to try and help out but the most she could do now was go to Bevelle Temple and find her way to Bahamut with the help of Lucius and Nephia. With a smile she looked back to Lucius and walked over to him, the sun was shining it was a beautiful day to return home. Her right hand found its way onto his chest and she leant up to kiss him on the cheek.
"Well this is my true home so I don't mind giving a little tour especially for Nephia."
Adiona dropped back down onto the heels of her feet as she looked over to Nephia flashing a smile to her, perhaps these two guardians would stick with her until the end. It would be nice to have them at her side when she died, she wanted to see Sin fall before she drew her last breath though. The young summoner began to slowly walk in the direction where the temple was, she hoped it had not been damaged and that everything was just as fine when she left to start her pilgrimage. Every so often Adiona would point out to certain buildings stating that it was either a place she visited a lot as a child or that was where she first learnt her magic. Her tone of voice changed as Bevelle temple as in sight in the distance.
"It's been rough for everyone across Spira, no city or village seems to be left alone by Sin or other means. I just hope the worst is over until I can obtain Bahamut....then the Final aeon. It will be over soon..."

Nephia would notice right away that the Maester that had accompanied them from Macalania was not following them as they entered the city. Shrugging it off she would smile back at Adiona as they where walking through the city. Looking at every stop, listening to every little bit of information Adiona was giving her and Lucius made Nephia appreciate what it was that the Spirans had to go through. To her it felt like a big sister speaking to her sibling about this and that than someone who was about to attain a beast of immeasurable power.
Despite it all though Nephia would smile and enjoy the walk until Adiona stopped and spoke plainly. Listening to it she would stop her walking and turn to face Adiona. Speaking up her voice would have a twinge of curiosity on it as she spoke.
"If you do not mind me asking Adiona... Why is that you seem so somber about attaining this Aeon and defeating Sin? I know that if I was about to attain something that could stop a Blight upon the lands I would be joyous and exhuberant... Yet I feel as if I am walking with someone who is about to be buried in the ground..."
Lucius smiles and walks behind Adiona as she pointed out various places happily, he was glad she was happy right now it was a relaxing time for her, and honestly he was a little envious of her, having somewhere she could call her hometown. Lucius himself spent most of his childhood in labs, so he didn't get anywhere to really call his hometown and he only really called Zanarkand home these days as it was the place he felt the strongest connection too. He walked with his arms hooked over his Lifegiver which was resting across his shoulders, however he stopped and looked over at Nephia as she stopped and asked a question that made Lucius take a step back at the bluntness of it. Looking towards Adiona he takes a slight breath in, he knew of what happened to summoners who complete their pilgrimage yet he couldn't bring himself to say it so he looks away from them both.
Does the summoner have to die?
He thought to himself before he glances back to Adiona, she was still young, surely there was a way for Sin to be defeated without the Summoner dying, yet using technology against it would only lead to more death and destruction.

[atrb=style, font-family: Tahoma; word-spacing: 1px; text-align: justify; border: 1px dashed #731cff; color: #00000; padding: 10px]Lady Adiona stopped walking once Nephia had asked the question, her head lowered and she sighed lightly under her breath. It wasn't that she hated telling people of summoners and the ways of Spira but having to tell them she would die at the end of the pilgrimage always drove it home to her. Adiona slowly turned around with a slight smile on her face as she prepared herself to answer Nephia. Lucius already knew what happened he was from Spira after all, Nephia reminded her of Buddy and his lack of knowledge of Spira but also his personality. He was a great friend but he obviously couldn't handle the pilgrimage and the pressure.
"You are spot on really Nephia."
With a chuckle Adiona began to walk again towards Bevelle Temple now that it was in the distance, there probably wouldn't be any sort of welcoming party which was fine by her. She just wanted to get on with things, the end draws closer for Sin but for her also. She ran her fingers through her long black hair as she turned her head slightly to catch a glimpse of Nephia.
"Once a summoner uses the Final Aeon against Sin they then die, but we summoners know of the risk when we begin training. So once I have obtained Bahamut we head to Zanarkand so I can obtain the Final Aeon. The final battle with Sin will take place in the Calm Lands and there I will use the Final Aeon to defeat Sin. One life against many is a small price to pay."

The smile on Nephia's face would fade as she heard Adiona speak that she was right. She did not want it to be right as she was rather enjoying the company of Adiona and would not want any harm to come to her. Her head would lower some as she felt the wind get taken out of her. It was an odd feeling for her to know that she was protecting someone who knew and had accepted the fact that she was going to die.
Walking alongside Adiona Nephia would be lost in thought as she saw Adiona turn to glance over at her. Listening to what Adiona spoke once again Nephia would let it digest in her mind for a minute before speaking up.
"Reminds me of an old saying my father told me before his death. It is a motto that I find hard to of ever imagined seeing in action but I believe this fits it perfectly. The quote is. The needs of the many, outweigh the needs of the few."
With that spoken Nephia would shake her head to the sides. There was still something bothering her, and yet she knew in her gut that there has to be some other way.
"I do not know why it is that Mother Gaia would allow one of her most precious to commit suicide against such odds... I understand the need and want of it. Blame it on my age, inexperience in the world, or whatever you wish but I just cannot fathom how this cycle continues... From what little I have read on the subject Sin should be dead many hundreds of times over yet it is not. Also it has never openly attacked the much more mechanically inclined civilizations of Shinra or Galbadia like it does Spira..."
Speaking out loud Nephia would of placed a hand up to her head and would be rubbing her forehead as if she had a rather large headache. Though the entire time she was speaking and acting this way she would not loose a single step to Adiona as they neared the temple.
Lucius stopped as Nephia drops silent, he knew part of the answer, he knew the theological answer as to why Sin remained in Spira alone he also had heard theories during his time as a lab rat about why Sin doesn't leave. He turns to look at Nephia and stops walking as he starts to speak up.
"Sin is Spira's punishment for the war 1000 years ago, Spira destroyed the city of Zanarkand and in response the souls of the deceased created the creature Sin that existed to punish those Spirans that relied upon technology and destroyed those that had destroyed Zanarkand, hence why Sin never leaves Spira, Or at least thats the basics of what I know, I'm not an active follower of the yevonite religion though."
He takes a breath in and reaches down into his jacket, pulling out a cigarette, slipping it in between his lips before he pulls out a lighter. Bringing the lighter up he lights up the cigarette and takes a drag of it as he slips the lighter back, then he takes the cigarette from his lips and blows out a ring of smoke.
"I've heard a couple of theories from some of the bigwigs of Shin-Ra a few years back. One scienctist believed that Sin is just like any other fiend and Spira is simply its territory so it sticks close to it never wandering far from it, another one believed that Sin was created to guard something in Spira. Frankly, all I know is Sin is easily strong enough to give places like Esthar and Midgar a severe beating"
Lucius then takes another drag from the cigarette as he looks up at the sky.

[atrb=style, font-family: Tahoma; word-spacing: 1px; text-align: justify; border: 1px dashed #731cff; color: #00000; padding: 10px]Lady Adiona briefly closed her eyes to hold back the tears, she was so close to completing her pilgrimage it was almost time for her to give up her life for Spira. She raised her right hand up and wiped away the lone tear that had fallen down her pale cheek. OPening her eyes Adiona looked to Lucius and Nephia brightly smiling, she had to stay strong for them. They were both her guardians and their job was to protect her on her pilgrimage, they would be recognised and be famous throughout Spira once Sin had been defeated. For that reason Adiona decided she had to be strong for them mentally and keep them on track.
"Either way it needs to be stopped..."
Her voice was a little croaky but she cleared her throat and kept walking towards Bevelle Temple. She wanted to break into a run but the young summoner kept her composure as she approached the giant double doors. Usually there were two priests stood outside but for some reason the doors were unguarded, there was nothing of value inside except the aeon Bahamut but the entrance to the trials would be guarded. Lady Adiona spun around to face Nephia and Lucius.
"It's good to be home, it will be quite sombering to see my old room again. Come inside please, feel free to look around and we can then either rest for a while or get straight to the Cloister of Trials."

Listening to Lucius speak up about the theories and possibilities made Nephia's head hurt. She was after all a simple woman from the frontiers of society. Giving a simple shake of her helmet head she would resume walking beside Adiona. Noticing the movements of Adiona she would not even make a move or show that it had been seen. Placing a hand onto her helmet to keep it in place she would look over at Lucius who was smoking once again, and then back over at Adiona.
"Adiona I will agree with you that such a beast needs to be stopped... No not just stopped. Destroyed if at all possible. Removed from this world would be best, but then again if it is as Lucius stated Sin might be the greatest scourge yet the best defense Spira has against outside influences attacking..."
Her words would come out as they neared and stopped when they approached the Temple. Out of respect Nephia would remove her helmet allowing her hair to fall out of helm and go to its full length. Nephia would listen to Adiona speak and she would chime up with her opinion.
"I think a short meal would be nice... Then we can get you your Aeon. Other than that a short tour of your home would be nice Adiona."
Lucius sighs and follows the lead of the ladies as Adiona moved towards the temple and then leading them into the temple itself, he however drifted into his thoughts of Sin, of the fate that awaits her. He takes a deep drag of his cigarette before he takes it from his lips and blows out a ring of smoke into the air, hearing a cough come from one of the temple priests he snaps out of his thoughts and stubs the cigarette onto Lifegiver and then slipping the remainder of the cig into his pocket. Scratching his cheek with a grin he turns to look at Adiona and Nephia.
"Er, sorry about that, er whatever you wish Lady Adiona. I don't mind if you wish to show us around your home alittle before we move on to the trail itself."
He then lets out a slight chuckles as he turns to look at the priests, mouthing sorry at them as he holds his free hand up as a sign of apoligy to them.

The young summoner walked into Bevelle Temple and was greeted with a cool breeze flowing through the temple, she looked back to Nephia and Lucius smiling. Everyone recognised her and it seemed they were keeping an eye on how far she had gotten in her pilgrimage. Lady Adiona walked further into the temple and headed straight for one of the back rooms, there was no better feeling than returning home after a long stretch away. Though this would be the last time she would be here, it was always there in the back of her mind about how her pilgrimage would end. Her blue eyes glanced upon the statues of former High Summoners as she walked into the back room. Set out for her and her guardians was a table of food and drink
"Thank you for your hospitality, it is so nice to be back home."
Lady Adiona then sat down on one of the big silk cushions and began to take which food she wanted to eat, it seemed a little rude of her not to acknowledge he guardians but this wasn't a time to play about with little pleasantries. She waited for them to arrive at the table before she began to eat and drink.

Nephia would let out a little giggle at the situation the Lucius had gotten himself into. To her it was rather humorous that he had managed to become so defensive so quickly about something. She would follow Adiona through the main hall of the temple. Glancing back and forth she would look in awe of the men immortalized in stone within the Temples main chamber. Though her awe was short lived as she would regain her place almost directly behind Adiona as she entered the back room and took a seat.
Following suit Nephia would place her blue helmet on the table beside where she sat and propped her spear on a nearby chair. She would wait for Adiona to thank the priests and grab her fill before she would look over the spread of food and pick and choose her own plate. Before she would eat though she would lower her head and place her hands together in prayer.
"Mother Gaia bless this meal I am to enjoy... And to the trials I feel we are about to encounter..."
Her words would of been loud enough to be heard only by the others in the room. Raising her head she would then begin to eat and drink. After a few minutes she would speak up.
"This is delicious. Adiona this Bahamut you are seeking. What makes him the most special of the Aeons to be housed within the Temple here in Bevelle your capital city?"
With her usual lack of tact she would bluntly ask about something most in Spira would know without much of a thought.
Lucius sits down to eat, next to Adiona reaching forward towards a plate of food and pulling it close before he starts to chow down on it slowly as he tries not to think about what fate awaited Adinoa in the future. Nephia's question was a welcome distraction and Lucius smiles recalling one of the stories he had heard from his years travelling around Gaia as a mercenary. Swallowing a mouthful of food before he grabs his drink and takes a sip before he decides to speak in order to share his thoughts.
"From what I know about Bahamut is that he is known as the King of Dragons throughout Gaia, I heard that there are quite a few temples built to honour him too, I guess there are a few places in the world where Bahamut is suppost to roost although I don't know why he is housed in the capital of Spira, I'd guess its becuase he is suppost to be the strongest Aeon."
With that he takes another sip of his drink before he turns to look at lady Adiona, smiling faintly at her before he speaks up again.
"Although I'm sure there is more to it than that."

[atrb=style, font-family: Tahoma; word-spacing: 1px; text-align: justify; border: 1px dashed #731cff; color: #00000; padding: 10px]Adiona crossed her legs as she shifted around to get comfortable, her eyes glanced across the table as a few of the priests came to eat with them. She picked at her food which mainly consisted of fruit and some cooked meat, the truth was she wasn't that hungry. Time seemed to pass slowly for her at the table as she drank and ate, Nephia and Lucius talked amongst themselves as she kept quiet. She felt as though she talked too much and coming back to her birthplace was quite painful. She would never be here again, not after Sin was defeated. Her statue would be but that's all it would be. Lady Adiona looked to Nephia and then Lucius before slowly getting to feet.
"He is a young boy.....excuse me please I wish...to take one last look around before I leave for good."
The summoner spoke quietly as she made the sign of Yevon before leaving the table. Her long black hair fell partly over her right shoulder as she rushed away. She could feel the tears coming but she vowed she would not cry, she had to be strong for everyone. They needed her to defeat Sin at all costs, to bring the Calm to them. She walked fast to her room and slammed the door shut, she pressed her back up against it before closing her eyes. So many memories here, they were a little over whelming to handle right now. Lady Adiona then pushed herself from her door and walked over to her bed. Her room hadn't been changed since she left that day, she assumed it was because she was the only summoner that had gotten this far in their pilgrimage so far. There could be others but she was sure she would have heard of them by now. Adiona sat down on the edge of her bed and placed her head in her hands.

First there would be little tremors on the walls of the temple. The tremors would slowly increase in intensity and at first the guard though Sin was heading in to attack Bevelle. As their attention and weaponry where turned to the sea it began. Blasts of magic descended from the sky and large mechanical suits of armor would begin pummeling against the outer walls of Bevelle. There was no warning for this attack, and there would be no remorse or safety given to any resident within the city.
"Citizens of Bevelle, of all Spira... You are now all subjects of the GEsthalian Empure. Turn over your Maesters for their punishment and you might be save..."
As the female spoke several Bevellian guards would charge at her. With a flick of her wrist they would all be struck with large bolts of Thunder. The intensity of the blasts where such as the metal of their weapons melted and their bodies where turned to ash. The figure would let out a laugh that had a shrill undertone to it as she turned and motioned for the suits to begin moving toward the town entrance.
As the suits would move toward the city a few priests would come into both of the rooms with the guardians and with Adiona. The female priest that had charged in to the room with the guardians spoke. "Quickly grab your summoner... Go through the trials and get to Bahamut. The city is under attack."
A male priest ran into the chamber with Adiona and spoke up. "Milady Adiona I apologize with the intrusion, but I would ask you to grab your guardians. Head into the cloister and pray to Bahamut. There is an invading force outside the city. Once your trial is over take the hidden path out of the temple and the city. Please stay safe."
After they finished speaking both priests would rush out of the rooms and would be seen securing the main doors to the temple. Their faces had quite the worried look to them as they stood at the doors.[/center]

Enjoying the dish before her Nephia would hear Lucius's opinions on Bahamut. Each where valid in her mind and that got her to wonder aloud.
"You know Lucius you speak of multiple houses to Bahamut scattered across the lands... Perhaps there could of been a family or some lineage of such a creature long ago in Gaias past that placed all those powerful dragons around the world... But then again I am just thinking aloud..."
With her words spoken she would return to her food as the first rumbles would come through the temple. Paying it no heed as she was used to seismic activity on the Lost Continent. It was only when the priests all stood at once that she would notice that Adiona had left the room. She must have been more famished than she remembered as she had not heard her summoner leave the room and speak up as she had done so.
A slight blush would come over Nephia's face as she felt the tremors get worse and then she would hear explosions coming from outside the temple within the civilian portion of the city between the gates and the temple. Grabbing her helmet she had stood as a female priest burst into the room and told Lucius and herself to go get Adiona now as the city would soon be under attack. As she heard the words come from the mouth of the priest she heard a loud cracking of thunder come from outside the temple.
She knew that it had to be unnatural as when they entered it had been a clear day outside. Reaching back she would grab her spear and look over at Lucius giving him a nod before charging out into the main room of the temple. Holding her staff at the ready she would stand with her back to the cloister doors and when Lucius would emerge she would speak.
"Lucius go find Adiona... I will hold this spot in case they get through the barricades. As most of the priests are not even armed let alone seasoned enough to fight an army if that is what is coming our way. Find her quickly as if they are searching for anything of value they will hit the biggest most important looking building the hardest... And that would be this temple..."
Lucius would stand up quickly, grabbing Lifegiver with one hand as he spins around from the chair to a standing position just as quickly as Nephia had. He quickly then rushes after Nephia as the priest informed them about the invading force, his mind racing as he tries to figure out what nation would be foolish enough to assualt Bevelle, the heart of the Yevonite religion, the heart of Sin's territory. No one else would want Spira while Sin roamed the land, it was such a destructive force anyone who tried would surely quickly find that the folly would be paid in their blood.
As he arrived at the Cloisters doors Nephia would speak to him and tell him to go and find the summoner, however he could only smirk at her before he spins around on his left heel, spinning Lifegiver in his hands before he points the tip towards the main temple doors. He shakes his head at her request, this was Adiona's home, she grew up here an invading force wouldn't catch her before she got to the Cloister and Lucius running off to find her would only cause him to get lost while Adiona would easily find her way here.
"This is Lady Adinoa's home turf, its a waste for me to run off to find her, she'll get here soon and we can do our best to make sure that anyone trying to get in through the main entrance is dealt with until she arrives."

Her hears pricked up as she spoke of an attack on Bevelle. It was then Lady Adiona's heart dropped, her home city was under attack and she couldn't do anything right now. The task at hand was to make her way through the Cloister of Trials with her guardians and then pray to Bahamut. Lady Adiona pushed herself up from her bed and started to run in her flimsy sandals back to the main hall. She knew her guardians would be alright, they wouldn't be guardians if they couldn't defend themselves. As Adiona ran into the main hall that feeling of dread washed over her as she saw the priests and others try to barricade and secure the main doors. Whoever it was obviously meant business. Lady Adiona ran up the steps to the entrance to the Cloister of Trials, Lucius and Nephia were there waiting for her.
"We need to move as quickly as possible through here if what the priest has said is true. This is the most powerful aeon on Spira and I can imagine the Cloister of Trials will be one of our toughest."
Lady Adiona wasn't out of breath she as her guardians needed to be fit and well to take on a pilgrimage. The summoner walked up to the door and it opened as she approached.
"Lets go."

As Adiona reaches the main floor of the temple and speaks to her guardians a large crashing could be heard upon the doors of the temple. At first the doors began to move if ever so slightly as it seemed the wooden beams holding the doors back would hold. Then the noise would stop and then a loud smash could be heard and the doors of the temple would buckle inwards wide enough for several men to enter.
The men where two green suited soldiers and a brown suited soldier of the Gesthalian Empire's main army branch. The brown suited soldier looked over at the scrambling priests and with an order you all would hear clearly he would say. "Kill them all. Leave only those that are Maesters alive..."
The green soldiers would charge at the two priests who went scrambling toward the side rooms and managed to close the doors behind themselves. Turning around they would spot Nephia, Lucius, and Adiona. Pointing at them they would ready themselves for orders as the brown suited one would slowly walk forward. "Now we need not resort to a slow and painful death miss... If you tell me where your maesters are I will bury you all inside your beloved temple..."
As he spoke the green suited soldiers would of pulled there swords from the hilts on their sides and will charge toward the collected group. Bringing their blades down in rather slow barely above training level speed they would strike out at Nephia and Lucius. The brown suit would draw his own weapon a pike off his back and ready himself for combat should the soldiers lose.

Nephia stood there as Lucius ran out and spoke the truth to her. Nodding in agreement to the man she would spin her spear around and ready herself as she felt the ground rumble once again. Looking at the doors her eyes would widen as she saw them begin to bulge a little inward in time to the large tremors. Speaking up she would close her eyes and silently say a prayer before speaking up.
"Lady Adions stay behind us... I have a bad feeling something is about to crash the party..."
As she poke the doors would shudder one more time and light could be seen coming from a hole that had been made in them. Luckily for them it was not large enough for anything but a man or two to pass through and that is what came through. Nephia steeled herself as she watched them move back and forth from the priests chambers to where they where.
That is when she saw the first green suited soldier come her way sword raised. Gripping her spear tighter to herself she would watch for the telltale sign of his attack. She would not have to wait long as the man would make his move. Coming toward her with a lazy looking attack that to her eyes had to be one of a unskilled green recruit she would find it easy to raise her spear up catching his blade with the handle. {Dodge Acheived, 82 words} With a quick movement she would spin and kick the soldier in the chest before spinning around her own weapon. The attack caused her to go skidding away from the soldier who looked at the blue plated woman and smirked at her as if taunting her. Nephia would look at the man and grin back at him.
"Guess holding back now would mean death.... Oh well time to let loose the hounds of war..."
As Nephia finished speaking a ripple of magic would start at her feet and would spin up her body to her left hand. Shooting out it would grab the green soldier lifting the soldier into the air and bringing him into range of Nephia. She would jump into the air and bring her spear down hard into the chest of the green suited soldier impaling him through the chest with her spear. Spinning off of him she would ready herself for the next barrage.

Lucius took a step forward, standing in front of Adiona as leader threatens her, he swings Lifegiver through the air swiftly and sighs taking cigarette out of his pocket before he fumbles into his pocket and pulls out a light.
"Yup, thats going to get you answers. Threaten us with death whether we answer or not."
He pulls out his lighter and flicks it open and on in one motion, bringing it up to the cigarette while sheilding it with his hand gripping the Lifegiver lighting it as he continues to speak.
"Sounds like some one has not learnt the basics of being a man, mate."
He then snaps the lighter closed and drops it into his chest pocket taking a deep drag of the cigarette before rushing forward to meet the charge of the obviously green soldiers just as Nephia took down the first, however Lucius doesn't twist to evade it instead he thrusts the Life giver up into the air just as the rookies blade comes down slashing into his left shoulder, digging in slightly without a wince he growls out words to the kid as the Lifegiver starts to glow violently.
"Kid you are nowhere near my level, I have found pieces of shit more skilled than you at fighting. You want to live?"
Above the tip of Lifegiver the air snaps to below freezing in an instant forming a large ball of ice, balancing on the tip of Lifegiver, his eyes boring into the leader as Lucius starts to rotate Lifegiver around and around quickly, spinning the large orb of ice around and around in the middle of the rotating Ji.
"Run away kid I will let you live, unlike your clueless leader."
With that Lucius thrusts the Ji up into the air, launching the orb high into the air before he swings his weapon backwards before he slashes it forward, smashing the mythril tip into the now falling orb sending it flying towards the leader where it hits him square in the face before the orb explodes violently removing the mans face and impaling the nearby area with blood and ice shards.
Lucius then glares at the rookie before he speaks up to Adiona and Nephia, knowing that even if this rookie ran away more soldier would enter the temple to try and wipe out its enhabitants, Lucius could only hope that the Civilians in the city itself were managing to escape with the help of the local defenses or that the Galbadian squad that had recovered the X-ATM prototype was still station in Bevelle.
"Lady Adiona, Nephia head into the Cloister now, I'll stay here and guard the entrance while you clear the cloister."

They wanted the Maesters....that was not going to happen. Not while she was here. The Maesters were the cornerstone of Yevon and no one or nothing was going to change that. Lady Adiona began to feel very warm as Nephia and Lucius began their attacks to protect her and the pilgrimage, her hand twitched as she watched Lucius take the hit. She felt the rage begin to rise slowly from within her as she then focused her attention onto the last soldier standing.
~Battle Word Count Start~
Lady Adiona walked slowly to Lucius and stood in front of him, she kept her arms at her side as she kept her glare onto the solider. Her long black hair began to flow behind her as though there was some breeze but the temple was closed off. Adiona's eyes rolled over into a complete black, her fingers began to twitch as black lightning began to crackle between them. She raised her hands in front of her and shot out a massive dark flameball which engulfed the solider. His screams echoed around the temple as Adiona dropped her arms. Tiny beads of sweat fell down her cheeks as she watched the solider burn alive, he hit the ground with a thud.
"Stay the fuck away from us, all of you will pay for your insolence and ignorance."
Lady Adiona turned back to Lucius as she eyes began to change back to their normal blue color, her cheeks were flushed from the heat emitting from the magic she had just cast.
"We need to move now."

As the soldiers fell to the ground the one in brown would depress a small button on his armor. From outside the temple a loud thudding could be heard and a loud whirring noise could be heard. A loud thud could be heard as the door buckled a little more and a large metallic foot could be seen. Above the din of the machine there where the noises of several dozen sets of boots heading toward the temple. Seeing outside you would see a large column of blackened armored troops heading your way.

Watching the people fall to the ground with little effort made her smile yet she felt like there was more there. Then came the doors getting punched once again and Nephia would take a step back from them out of fear they may finally cave in. When they did not she would swing her spear back onto her back. Off in the distance she heard the footsteps of what to her sounded like a regiment of troops heading their way. With that Nephia would look over first at Lucius and then up at Adiona as she spoke.
Giving Adiona a nod of her head she would move over to Adiona's side. Standing beside her Nephia was ready to move into the cloister, but she would allow Adiona to do it first as that would be safest place to head. As her job was to guard the lady she would always make sure she was safe no matter the cost.
"Adiona move first. I will linger but a moment behind you to make sure that it is safe for us to proceed. Lucius lets get moving I feel that whatever is coming this way is not to be trifled with as easily as those last three..."
As Nephia spoke she would feel a sense of urgency begin to swarm over her heart and senses. It felt as if the planet was telling her to get moving as things where about to get bad.
Lucius flinches as the rookie in front of him was mercilessly immoliated by Adiona, catching the tip of his cigarette in the process. Once the rookie was cooked and the metal foot had kicked the doors and caused them to buckle slightly he would grip the sword in his shoulder, biting down on the end of his cig before he rips it out and tosses it aside. Lucius grunted and winced as he removed the blade before he turns to look at Nephia as she speaks, his mind racing with thoughts.
They are going to get through with another blow or two to that door and then they are going to swarm in, if we stay we could probably take out a large portion of them with Adiona's Aeons alone and with me and Nephia more would fall, maybe we could save more innocents within the temple but this will not bring us closer to her goal, yet if we all go in they'll be right behind us and inside the temple combat space will limit her Aeons so....
He grips the shaft of the Lifegiver and takes a step towards the doors, he knew what he could do, to make sure that Adiona would have enough time to complete the trails of the Aeon and get back here in order for them to either push back this army or to escape by blazing a large hole through their ranks, either way they would do some damage. He speaks up, his tone completely serious.
"I will stay here Adiona, Nephia and I'll hold them back while you two clear the cloister. Please do not argue with me"
He tilts his head towards Adiona and smiles faintly at her, his eyes visible to her from behind his sunglasses at the angle, she would see no fear or hesitation in his eyes.
"I owe you for saving my life in the Thunder Plains so let me at least earn my keep here, I promise I will not let these bastards past nor will I let them claim my life, so go."

[atrb=style, font-family: Tahoma; word-spacing: 1px; text-align: justify; border: 1px dashed #731cff; color: #00000; padding: 10px]Her eyes moved over to Nephia first as she spoke, it seemed she wanted her to move into the Cloister of Trials first. Lady Adiona under all the confidence and anger that was now brewing under the surface, felt that Nephia's statement was quite heart warming. She remembered of course that being a guardian that was her job to make sure she stayed alive through out the pilgrimage. Before she could respond to Nephia, Lucius stepped forward and made his own thoughts and feelings known. Her interference in saving him from the Al Bhed in the Lightning Plains had come up once more, to her it was nothing more than helping out. She knew he was serious by the look in his eyes as he glanced to her. Adiona knew what she was going to do and it was either something very brave or very stupid.
"You think i'm letting you have all the fun."
Her tone was direct and serious. Adiona looked back over to Nephia and smiled as she took a few steps forward to put herself in front of both of her guardians. She could feel the rage almost overtaking her confidence but something unforgiveable had happened and she would not allow this to go unnoticed. Adiona raised her left hand and pointed towards the oncoming storm. In a loud voice she bellowed to those awaiting to kill the three of them.
"I will say this only once. Get the fuck out of Bevelle now. You have desecrated my home, this temple stands for faith and hope amongst my people. I will not allow this to go unpunished."

Her views on the situation had been aired and yet ignored as she expected them to be. She was not a long time companion of Adionas nor was she from Spira so she did not know how either of them felt to see one of their brightest gems of a city being invaded and destroyed around them. Hearing first Lucius speak up, and she smiled at the man who she felt in her heart was about to do something incredible brave and macho filled. Something that would live on in Spiran history should he live or die on this day mattered naught. Then she heard the empassioned words of Adiona and once again she tried to feel the power and strength behind them.
Closing her eyes she would reach out to the planet and despite not being able to feel the call of the planet itself she would feel the pain and suffering that surrounded them. Alongside this suffering however was bravery and self sacrifice going on all around them. As she opened her eyes she felt a single phrase enter her mind as a faint whisper of familiarity. "Get... summoner... Bahamut." The words rang in her ears as she walked over to Lucius. Placing a hand on his shoulder she would lean in and whisper to the man in a voice that only the two of them would hear.
"Lucius... I am going to bring Adiona into the Cloister with all the force I can muster... She must get this Aeon. I do not know why but I feel like the planet itself just told me to go and do it. So please do not interfere... and as for your plan. Do not go and get yourself killed alright? I think Adionas taken a shine to you.."
After finishing speaking in hushed tones with Lucius she would release her hand from his shoulder after patting it twice. Walking up beside Adiona she would stand in front of her for a few seconds and would see the column of men getting closer and closer. Closing her eyes for a second she would then summon up as much strength as she could and would plant her feet into the ground and grab Adiona tossing her over her shoulder like a sack of grain.
As she started moving Nephia would feel the stings of Adiona's nails as they would rake the side of her face and multiple punches she would feel barraging against her shoulders, arms, back, and neck. Passing Lucius she would give him a nod. It was a simple gesture yet she knew that to someone like him it would be a 'go all out and leave behind a grand legacy' type of gesture. It took all of Nephia strength to hold Adiona in place as she made her way to the doors of the Cloister and then opened them. Walking inside of the doors she would pull them shut and then set Adiona down.
Feeling a biting strike catch her across the face Nephia would not move her head and instead she would stand with her arms and legs spread covering as much of the door as she could. Speaking up she would have the most serious tone she would of ever had since meeting Adiona and would address her simply.
"Adiona... Hate me for what I did, but I do not care. You have a duty to yourself, no to these people that are out there fighting those beasts to the death. You may not believe me that I can talk to the planet but I can. It allowed me to see however briefly outside of the temple and your people are being injured and killed by the hundreds out there... They need a symbol of hope something to rally behind. You cannot be the symbol without the last Aeon at your side. I must get you to Bahamut and see you to safety... Even if it will cost me my life..."
Lucius let out a sigh of relief as Nephia drags Adiona into the cloister behind them, now, he thought to himself as he swings Lifegiver across the back of his neck, looping both arms over its shaft, lets show these fools what one man can do.
He takes a step forward as well as takes a deep drag of his cigarette, in a few more moments their war machine would have that door off of its hindges and several squads would burst into the room, probably spraying the room with bullets and magic. He glances around the temple, there was no time to set up traps nor did he have the equipment to do so either, he chuckles and takes another step forward, smirking slightly maybe they would look at him and fall down dead with laughter.
With a third step forward Lucius shook his head from side to side, that would not happen, they would look at him and think this will be easy. His smirk widens and he spits out the cigarette and releases his left arm from around Lifegiver as he swings it around swiftly smacking the cigarette as it flies through the air and aims it at the doors that were being kicked down right before him.
"Come on boys, the ferryman is waiting for his coin."
