Appearance: Alignment: Chaotic Good Profession: PSICOM special ops, currently on leave. Personality: When one first meets Zeak, the first thing that would come to mind is, “That man can't be a solder. Much less special ops!” As Zeak has a personality that is the opposite of what a solder's would be. He is rarely serious and is able to find a joke in just about any event. Most of those jokes are bad, but that's not the point. He is overly friendly and touchy to the point of annoyance. He opens up to someone quickly, and once he considers a person his friend, they're friends for life, and he would go to the ends of the earth for them. It is based on lances and spears found on the ground Continent of Pulse but with an added gun-blade-like twist. It is about four feet long, not counting the diamond shaped blade on the tip. Keeping the Pulsican vibe of the weapon while still having it be somewhat modern, a crossbow has been modified unto the back of the spear. The modification gives the spear a silver, metallic sheen down the entire shaft, minus the grip and the blade. Zeak's story starts out like every other, a child is born to a happy family. In the city of Eden, on a sunny day, Zeak came into the world. His mother, Isane, and his father Greo weren't very important people in the city, but they lived happily nonetheless, Zeak's younger years were filled with nothing but bliss. Even when he started the youngest grades, he made a lot of friends, and had a very fun life. Until he turned seven.
When Zeak turned seven his mother told him his father died in a PSICOM raid on a local gang's hideout, his father had sadly been the only causality to occur that day, and it was said that he died because his partner made a rookie mistake. Zeak was to young to care about anything except for the fact his father had died. The funeral was shortly after the accident, and Zeak sank into a dark period. He rarely spoke and became withdrawn from the world around him.
When he was ten Zeak began to open up to the world again, slowly returning to his old behaviors, it seemed like he had finished mourning over his father, and everyone around him breathed a sigh of relief. That however, wasn't the case, Zeak still mourned for his lost parent, but he had figured out how he would deal with the grief, he would join PSICOM and make sure no one ever felt the pain he did again. He never spoke of his secret dream to anyone, especially his mother, who would have died at the thought of having another family member in that group.
Five years later and Zeak's ambitions were still fresh in his mind, he either spent his time at school with friends, or at home reading about PSICOM tactics and techniques. He wasn't able to buy a gun-blade, or a blade at all, but he used sticks and metal pipes to practice what he had read about. Once he was caught by none other than a PSICOM officer, who took a humorous attitude to the child trying to learn how to fight with nothing more than sticks. He gave Zeak a training blade, nothing deadly, but it had the weight and feel of a real gun-blade. It was a perfect gift for Zeak. But he would never forget the feel of those pipes, or the name of that man; Peor.
At age 18 Zeak enlisted in PSICOM and became a recruit, much to the chagrin of his mother, who was so upset she couldn't even speak to him. For the next year and a half Zeak learned firsthand what he had been reading about for years. He excelled in the physical combat and tactics drills during training, but the parts on magic eluded him almost completely. He quickly made it though the recruits training in that year and a half period, it takes most recruits two years to complete it. He was put in a squadron under captain Peor, the man who started Zeak on his path. Of course they never had any chances to speak, as Zeak was thrust into more and more missions, while Peor was securing something .
When Zeak turned 23 he was a respected member of the PSICOM community, he didn't command a squadron, nor any men. But people listened, and valued his words....when he was being serious at least. It was during this year that Peor and Zeak finally got to talk, eight years after they first met. Peor commended Zeak on his effort and offered him a spot on a special operations team he was creating. Zeak jumped at the chance, and was joined by five other PSICOM members who had shown skills like him. They were sent in first, into the most dangerous situations, when a monster broke loose in the city, they were called in. When a large drug bust was going down and back up was needed, they were that back up. The group became a legend in PSICOM.
His biggest achievement however, didn't come till he was 24. The Spec Ops group, who just went by SO were preparing for a large raid on a gang's headquarters. Ten more people had joined the SO, eight men and two woman. The group of fifteen was as strong as it could ever be. Zeak was worried, his father had died on a mission much like the one he was about to go on, and although he hadn't talked to his mother much sense he enlisted, he didn't want her to lose someone else. He made a promise to himself then. That he wouldn't die.
The day came, and under the cover of night, the group attacked, taking the gang by surprise, the SO's had the upper-hand, appending criminals that surrendered, and killing those who fought back. To Zeak it was like reliving his father's last moments, he stormed in at the front of the group, taking down gang members left and right, using the standard OS gun-blade efficiently, mowing through the gang members until he came to the leader, who he defeated in one on one combat. Upon returning to base, Peor learned of Zeak's accomplishments and told him that he would be rewarded for his service.
The next day Zeak returned to work to find the entire OS group in Peor's room. As he entered they congratulated him and essentially sang his praise. Then peor came in, holding a large object covered in a black cloth. He spoke to Zeak about how he honored his unit with his actions the day prior, and how he thought the young boy he met nine years ago was finally ready for a weapon that suited him. Handing the object to Zeak, he removed the cloth, and in Zeak's hands was Guildari, the first ever bow-spear. Peor went on to say how each member of the group would get their own special weapon, Zeak's would be first.
After that, Zeak was taken out of the active mission group to learn how to use his weapon, he stayed inactive until his 25th birthday, when he was once again called into Peor's office. They spoke briefly and Peor stated that it was time for Zeak to take a break from PSICOM, to see the world. He was giving Zeak a two year absence from PSICOM, but he could come back at the one year mark if he wanted. Peor said he wanted Zeak to see the world outside Cocoon, and that if he spent his entire life in Eden he would regret it. He wasn't happy at Peor's decision, but he had to follow orders, so he packed his bags, and left the PSICOM unit. Going home to talk to his mother about these events that unfolded.
From them on he decided he would take an airship from Cocoon and see where the wind took him. He had a year minimum to see the world, it was time to go sightseeing.
Roleplay Sample:
”This is completely insane, literally, I don't know what you think your doing, but it's stupid. I can see that much.” Zeak said, practically yelling at the crew of the airship. The trip from Cocoon had been good so far, but a dragon had been spotted off in the distance, so the ship had to stop and ready it's emergency responses. Weapons were primed, and citizens were moved below deck. Zeak had simply shown his PSICOM spec ops badge, which he wasn't supposed to even have. The crew members had instantly ignored him. After all, a black man dressed in all back had a way of disappearing when people stopped paying attention. A large roar sounded off in the distance. Resting diagonally across his back was Guildari, Zeak slowly removed it from its restraints, holding it in one hand, letting the tip point slightly towards the ground.
A large gust of wind began to rock the ship, Zeak felt butterflies begin to form in his stomach. Then all was quiet. A few of the deck hands began to look around before the dragon came screeching out from the left side of the ship, spewing fire and looping around. Zeak grimaced, this was new. A few of the deck hands began shooting cannons and spells at the monster, hoping to kill it before it could land on the ship. While it was flying around, Zeak pressed the button on Guildari, letting the two sides fall out, holding the spear level with the ground he spun it so the blade was right behind his neck. He then began to pull the string back yelling, “Get inside!”. He was able to get it to the second notch when the dragon started to really buffet the ship with wind. Noticing a few deckhands slipping near the edge, and seeing one fall made Zeak sigh, he told them twice to stop. Pushing the bottom of the spear into the deck he pushed his foot onto one side of the bow, using that as a anchor to pull the string back even further, to the final notch. Looking up he tried to find the dragon, luckily, it stopped flying around the ship so it could get a good look at it's remaining targets. Seeing his chance, Zeak raised Guildari and pressed the button. A loud thwack emanated from the bow as the long silver arrow shot towards the dragon.
The arrow slammed into the dragons left wing joint and it began to lose it's stability. It began to roll in the air, and it let out one last scream before going below the ship. Brushing his hair through his dreadlocks, Zeak looked to the nearest deckhand, giving him a, 'Your welcome, can we get on with this now?' look. The ship began to lurch forward, and Zeak but Guildari back into it's casing, no need to scare civilians. He moved to the ship's bar to get a drink, he had never fought a dragon before, he was lucky it went after some of the deckhands and never noticed him, if it had attacked while he was readying the bow, it could have been troublesome. He sighed, maybe Peor was right, there was much to learn in this world outside Cocoon.
