Today was nothing special. Autumn had already done her deeds for her father and helped create some herbal remedies with her mother. It was only two-o-clock in the afternoon, and there was nothing of dire importance that she needed to do. She just sat at her desk, reading up on the history of magic (something she's read countless times), just waiting for something to happen. Some sort of action... Like an explosion! Or a raid from evil bandits! Something she can do actively and protect the people from. Or, perhaps she just needed a reason to go out...
Staring at the book and realizing she wasn't even reading it anymore, Autumn had this sudden urge to just go out and see something new. What was she going to see? She didn't know, but she needed a change in lifestyle. She can't just be dormant all day and expect to become a great adventurer.
Taking a small satchel with an apple, a water bladder, a loaf of bread, and some cheese, she burst through the door without saying a word to her parents and decided to take a stroll through town, possibly in the business district where he r parent's shop was. There, she could explore the different types of people or perhaps even meet a new friend.

Snoring. Well more like squeaking, since the noise itself came from a rather small moogle with a blue pompom. However he was moving. Not on his own of course, he had fallen asleep laying on the back of a large white chocobo. The bird wandered aimlessly through the city, carting the courier about without a care in the world. Now the large bird was since recently Marko’s travelling companion. The bird also tended to get rather motherly toward the little moogle.
Marko turned over, and as he turned he slipped off of the chocobo’s back. He landed on the street with a thud (though remained asleep for now) facedown, his pompom the only thing that caused people to walk around him. It took the white chocobo a moment or two to realize that her passenger was missing, before she turned around, warking very loudly as she walked back toward the moogle.
The bird leaned down, placing her face right down next to Marko’s and opened her beak. With a deep intake of air the oversized bird let out a very loud “kweh” causing several people to stop and stare at what the heck the bird was doing. Marko rolled over again, pulling his ears down as he muttered “five more minutes…”

Most people shop for fresh goodies and food early in the morning, while the afternoon shopping is more for items such as armor, weapons, potions, or things that don't need to be taken care off or used early on in the day. She had some spare gil from working in the shop, but she really didn't have enough for anything significant... Perhaps a few pouches of dried fruits or maybe even some nice small articles of clothing.
However, before committing to any type of purchase, she noticed something out of the ordinary in bazaar... Something was sqwacking, and it was getting rather annoying. She turned to her left and saw a white chocobo... and a moogle. Together... And the moogle seemed to be laying on the ground, almost half-dead. Autumn quickly rushed over to the little moogle and took out her water sack, trying not to spill any as she passed by strangers.
"Hey! Hey wake up! Are you alright?"
It was a rather warm day, and she was scared the little moogle must have gotten heat stroke. She held the sack and splashed water in the moogle's face, trying to wake him up and make sure he was conscious.

As the cool water splashed in his face, Marko jumped up in surprise off the ground only slightly higher than the woman stood. He was yelling things in his still sleepy stupor but that was brought to a quick halt when the white chocobo grabbed his pompom in her beak to hold him about eye level with the red mage. He blinked, looking at the girl and seemed a bit annoyed. “Hey! What’s the big idea splashing me with water?! I was having a nice nap!” His attention shifted, sniffing as he tried to brush the water out of his fur with his hands. He looked at her, as his eyes started to water from the mint. “Ooh…this smells nice!” He swung himself around and up. The white chocobo let go of the pompom and Marko landed after a quick backflip on the bird’s head.
He shook his hands out and held his right one out toward her. “Hi, I’m Marko!” he told her happily, introducing himself as if none of the events from a very short moment ago had even happened. He had a huge smile on his face, was he just really friendly? Or was he masking some horribly appropriate revenge plot that was formulating in that little noggin of his?

"H-hi... Sorry... I thought you passed out from the heat..."
Embarrassed, she tried to explain further why she did what she did, but the moogle seemed to ignore her babbling and commented on her water.
"Haha yeah... My mom puts mint in the water to make it taste fresher. Want to try some?"
She offered the moogle a drink as well as holding her hand out in a friendly gesture. Her mother likes to make different types of water that help Autumn in small ways. Mint water was today's special, since mint helps you focus and refresh your body and since it was a hot day, she would need to keep focus and be awake, and mint was perfect. Other days, it would be other things such as lemons for really dry days, or a small amount of sugar for days where Autumn is sad... Anyways, she held out that mint water as if it were a gift to Marko.
"I'm Autumn. Nice to meet you Marko!"
She giggles as he had a really wide grin. It lightened up her day and her mood. She enjoyed meeting new people, even if she just splashed them with water.
"So, what are you doing here in Lindblum? Unless you live here... I just moved here recently, and I don't go out much."

“You thought I passed out?” The moogle paused. “Hahahahahaha!” He fell back and rolled down the neck of the chocobo to start rolling around on the bird’s back. The bird fluffed up her feathers and swung her head around, picking the moogle up before plopping him down on the ground in front of Autumn. She also gave a rather disgruntled wark. Marko blinked and looked up toward Autumn still smiling.
“Oh that’s a cool idea!” he said, taking the water from her to drink while shaking her hand with his paw. He took a gulp and let out a very happy and refreshed sigh. With another motion he walked around a bit, over to the chocobo’s side where his bag hung. He reached inside and pulled out a bar of chocolate to hold it out to the girl. “Here you go Autumn! ‘Cause you shared with me!”
He was definitely being friendly, and in his head since she shared her water he could forgive her for waking him up so suddenly. Not like Autumn would ever had known he was until now (for that extremely short time) planning to get her back.

"You don't have too... I couldn't accept this. Besides, you never know when you might need it for something else."
Smiling, she glanced over at the chocobo and pondered for a few moments. "Say, where did you get your chocobo? He's really pretty~" She always liked the color of white chocobos, because they were just like clouds of fluffy cuteness. "Do you mind if I pet him for a bit?" She looked to Marko for permission, as she knew it was rude to just do things to others' pets without their say so. She was a polite person, after all. She didn't want to offend anyone.
Autumn stood up and looked over her shoulder, to make sure she wasn't in the way of anyone's path. Even though it was a busy time of day in the markets, most people are considerate and avoid colliding when they could easily avoid it. In this respect, Autumn was glad she met someone new. Its refreshing to not have to just deal with her parents or the shopkeepers.
"Hey, if you need any general goods, I am sure that my parents could give you a discount on things. I help run the store, so I am sure you could, if you needed anything of course." Inviting him to her parent's shop, she pointed towards where she came from. "It's just down there if you want to go, so just let me know~."

“But you gotta!” he whined, flat out placing the chocolate bar in her hands. “I have plenty!” he said, giggling slightly as he shook the messenger bag around his shoulder a bit. “Oh! Before I forget” he muttered, pulling out another chocolate bar. He unwrapped it and tossed it over in front of his chocobo. The bird’s eyes lit up and it warked happily as it snatched the chocolate bar from the air. The bird swallowed the candy in one gulp and let out a very loud and very happy kweh, its eyes sparkling slightly.
Marko laughed and looked up between Autumn and his bird. “See, Popo likes chocolate too.” He had a huge goofy grin on his face as he spoke. Though if you wanna pet her you gotta ask her he stated flatly, glancing up at the bird.
‘Popo’ blinked and looked at Autumn, leaning down to stare the girl directly in the eyes. The large white bird nudged forward, placing its beak against Autumn’s nose before quickly drawing back. Popo the Chocobo drew in a deep breath and basically yelled in Autumn’s face. “Waaaaark!” she said, before laying her head sideways on Autumn’s shoulder.
Marko looked at the bird and his jaw dropped, though it didn’t last long as he started to jump up and down. “Oh, oh, oh! That means she likes you!” he stated, that grin still on his face. “But…I don’t think I need anything” he said, answering the girl’s question.

She giggled as the white chocobo laid her head on Autumn's shoulder. She thought chocobos were rather cute and cuddly, and having one as a pet would be super funsies! Although having a pet would be a bit of a struggle, she probably would get some sort of supportive one, like a fairy or something, so that it could help her in battle.
"So, where'd you get your chocobo? She's adorable!" She corrected the gender this time around, seeing that Marko mentioned Popo as a girl.
She then quickly diverted the conversation. "May I also feed her chocolate? I am not a huge fan myself but... You know, she seems to like it!" She smiled as she looked over to Popo. She gently put her hand on the chocobo's head and petted it slowly, trying to make sure that she could snap her hand back at any moment if Popo were to snap at her.
She, for some odd reason, felt happy and at peace on the inside. She felt like she was having fun! But she definitely didn't want this to end. She wanted to see if she could join Marko on some quest or journey of amazingness, as she always dreamed of being an adventurer. Having places to go and things to do is one thing, but going out in the world is just... Too exciting. However, she decided that she just needed to calm her nerves just in case Marko would decline when she asked or if he wasn't even going. She had to be subtle... but she didn't want it to be too vague. How was she going to phrase it?
"Say, are you going to stay in Lindblum long? Or are you just stopping by?"

The chocobo let out a rather contented sound as Autumn petted her on the top of the head. Popo even went so far as to rub her head against the hand affectionately, gently pecking the girl on the side of her arm to say keep doing that.
“Uhhhh…maybe in a little bit!” Marko exclaimed with a smile. “If Popo has too much chocolate within a short period she gets really hyper and loud.” Of course his smile remained the whole time he spoke, though as he talked about her, the white chocobo fluffed up her feathers and turned her head away from Marko as if she had just been grievously insulted. Then again, if anyone knew the words hyper and loud it was the young moogle.
It just meant if he was calling someone else either of those two things, it was really bad. When Autumn asked her question he stopped and thought about it, holding up a finger. “One sec!” he said, jumping with his bag up onto the large bird’s back. He started going through his stuff and then looked up to her. “Nope! I don’t have to stay for much longer!” he smiled still. “I had to deliver some mail but I did that not to mention I was lost before even getting here so now I gotta figure out how to get to a place called ‘Balamb Garden’.
He made a face, like someone had just poked him in the side. He hated actually admitting he was lost.
"Well, I will save this for later then, hm Popo?" Autumn smiled at the white chocobo and tried to reassure that she'll have some chocolate later. This just means they have to stick around together, so she could give the chocobo chocolate.
"Oh, well, I mean Balamb Garden isn't a place I am familiar with..."
Autumn felt slightly out of place, as she didn't really know where/what Balamb garden was/is. Perhaps she could ask him his reasoning for going there? Or maybe even if she could join? She had to ask him sometime, but it was just a matter of timing and sensitivity, like hunting prey... She was going to do it. She was going to ask him.
"Well, if you don't mind, we could stop by my house and look at the maps I have to see where it is from Lindblum. My house is just down the street, so it wouldn't be long before we found out."
Autumn felt like her heart was going to explode. She wanted to do this. She wanted to go on an adventure.. But... Will he ask her to go with him? She couldn't bring herself to actually ask him... But maybe during the map session if they had one? Maybe... Just maybe...

The white chocobo rolled her eyes and pecked him on the top of his head. “Popo, what was that for?!” he whined, clutching the area where he had just been pecked. The bird put her head right next to his moogly ear and let out a loud and obnoxious “WARK!” Marko moved away from her slightly and grumbled.
However, when Autumn mentioned about chocolate she had Popo’s attention. The white chocobo did a little dance and spun around in a circle before picking the blue pompommed moogle up from the ground and tossing him on her back. “WARK!” The bird said.
Marko groaned and looked toward Autumn. “I think that’s her way of saying lead the way” he said, barely audible. He was starting to get a headache from this bird. “I gotta figure out where it is quick or I might get fired” he admitted, making sure he had his bag before the bird followed the girl. “Really important delivery and I already think it’s quite a few days late!”[/style]

Excited, she dashed off to her house. With footsteps like lightning bolts, she smashed the ground and ran between villagers and other people. She couldn't wait to get to her house! Well, it was just to look at a map, but still. It was exciting. This was a whole new thing for her. She wasn't even invited to the journey yet but she just couldn't contain her self. She always let out a fangirlish squeal but held it in for the real thing.
Upon reaching her house, she ran through the door (or so it seems) and dashed past her mother and father, who laughed as they knew that something exciting sparked Autumn's nerves. She giggles and ran towards her study, where a bunch of maps, books, scrolls, and pretty much anything with writing on it was stored. Everything was neat and in order, but still, Autumn had troubles finding the map she needed.
"Where are you..."
She searched up and down her bookshelf, still nothing. She searched under her desk, and not on it, because why would it be on her desk (except it was on her desk). She continued searching the room for the map, which was actually right in front of her.
