Appearance:
Lorenzo’s physical appearance is nothing extraordinary; being roughly 5’10” and of an athletic build. His hair is dark, styled in such a way that it is long in the front, falling loosely over one eye, but trimmed short and neat around the rest of his head. His face is what would be considered attractive, if it weren’t for several pre-mature age-lines, brought on by the harsher experiences of his life.
His clothing is a bit more of interest than his body; he wears a long-sleeved fishnet shirt and black slacks, under a long sleeveless brown tail-coat. He has metal pads on his shoulders, elbow, and wrist. Around his neck, he wears a medallion, an amulet, a symbol of his religion. And, etched into the back of his coat, embroidered into the cloth by his own hand, is a crude image of a pair of wings, another symbol of his religion. The best visualization of Lorenzo’s outfit would be similar to a more masculine version or Rinoa’s own outfit in Final Fantasy VIII.
Alignment:
Variant on situation. Fights in the name of good, but his idea of good and evil is skewed, to say the least.
Profession:
Witch Hunter
Personality:
The simplest way to describe Lorenzo’s personality would be “unhinged”. He was once a caring and compassionate boy, but with all that he has experienced, he has grown into a cold and uncaring man. Or so it would seem, anyway. In actuality he does still have a sense of right and wrong, and a pretty strong one, at that. However, his religion, his beliefs, color his entire personality. He may recognize when someone is in trouble, but according to his religion, the entire world will be remade upon the completion of his quest anyway. And, because of this, he will rarely go out of his way to help others in need. This would imply that he is a logical thinker. And he is. Though, this is where his unhinged mental state really comes in. He is highly logical, and will not needlessly waste effort on what he deems to be lost causes, and will only truly interfere if he sees some benefit in it. That being said, his sense of causality, his idea of relationships between two things, and his interpretation of personal benefit all vary on the situation. He will knowingly ignore someone in need, unless he somehow benefits, but at the same time, if he really wants to do something, he will somehow find some reason for him to do it. He will find the benefit where there is none, and hide behind his analytical stance of “only doing what needed to be done”. Similarly, he has been known to completely ignore entirely viable options for himself, based on emotional uncertainty, or perceived threat. He claims he will stop at nothing to reach his goal; and it’s true, his resolve is unwavering. But his next step always seems to be the one that suits him best. When faced with a decision, his responses are unpredictable, being jaded by his own twisted logic, and faulty reasoning, and it is almost impossible for others to truly understand what he is thinking. But then, that is just how it is when you’re freaking insane.

Equipment:
-1 Ether -The First Sorceress Knight’s Journal (authenticity questionable) -The Legend of Vascaroon (children's book) -Amulet of the Devout (useless piece of jewelry) -"Miraculous" +10 Mag (an ornately designed spear, and weapon of choice). -Gáe Bulg: +400 Atk, +100 Mag Additional Effect: Lorenzo can spend 100% of his Max MP (no reductions allowed) to allow his next attack to be a guaranteed hit, ignoring evasions and half of the target's Def. -Odine Bangle: +200 MAG
Character Abilities:
“Shell Shield” [Lvl 1, Passive] – Named for a mythical piece of equipment, this ability refers to Lorenzo’s natural defense against magical energies, which is substantially stronger than most people’s. Lorenzo has a semi-permanent shell status. If this shell status is removed for any reason, it will automatically renew itself three turns after it's removal.
“Draw” [lvl 1, Support] – An ability pulled directly from the FFVIII game. It allows Lorenzo to pull any spell from the target’s repertoire and use it immediately, even while silenced. At level one, this ability allows Lorenzo to use level 1 spells that the target knows. He can only make a TOTAL of three castings of any spell(s) that are not his own per battle. MP Cost is factored in normally.
“Bathed in Light” [Lvl 1, Passive] – Lorenzo’s faith and self-submergence in his religious relics have granted him a certain taste for all which is considered Holy, and a closeness with his God. Lorenzo is now resistant to Holy element damage.
“Manafall” [Lvl 1, Offense/Support] – Lorenzo targets an enemy and forcefully removes their magical energy. At level 1, this will simply cut the target's MP by half of their max MP. Costs 300 MP to use.
“The Eye of Hyne” [Lvl 1, Passive] – Lorenzo's constant hunt for the Sorceresses has granted him the ability to sense extremely powerful magical individuals within ten metres of him. Now the sight of any Sorceress, or powerful mage, is accompanied by a blue haze not dissimilar to the effect of the Detect Life spells from the Elder Scrolls series (meaning it works through walls as well). This effect applies to all ‘Sage’ class-evolutions, Wizards, Clerics, and, most importantly, Sorceresses.
“The Sorceress’ Font” [Lvl 1, Supportive] – Lorenzo is now able to tap into the vast pool of magical energies that are normally only accessible to Sorceresses. On the turn this ability is activated, Lorenzo cannot take any other actions. On the following turn, Lorenzo can use a single spell or ability at 0 MP cost, however Lorenzo will not be able to use that same spell or ability for the remainder of the thread. This effect cannot be used on abilities that already have a restricted number of uses, such as Manafall or Draw. In addition, this ability can only be used once per thread.
“Hyne’s Lifeblood” [Lvl 1, Supportive] – As much as Lorenzo knows about the Arcane, and as powerful a spell caster as he is, the fact remains, he is a Knight. He simply does not have the natural aptitude to magic that some mages have. He has to work hard for every speck of power that he has. This ability was the result of Lorenzo digging a little bit too deep during a training session, and hurting himself in the process. Using his own flawed logic, he came to the conclusion that, if he could sacrifice his health to power his spells, then perhaps the reverse could also be true. And, as is usually the case when he jumps to conclusions like that, he was right. He can now convert MP directly into HP at a 2 to 1 ratio (2MP => 1 HP).
“Mirror Mail” [Lvl 2, Passive] – Named for a second piece of mythical equipment, this is the upgraded version of Shell Shield. Lorenzo’s semi-permanent shell is now replaced by a semi-permanent reflect. If this effect is removed for any reason, it will automatically renew itself on the third turn after it was dispelled.
“Draw” [Lvl 2, Supportive] - An ability pulled directly from the FFVIII game. It allows Lorenzo to pull any spell from the target’s repertoire and use it immediately, even while silenced. At level two, this ability allows Lorenzo to use level 2 spells that the target knows. He can only make up to three castings TOTAL of any spell(s) not belonging to him per battle. MP Cost is factored regularly.
"The Eye of Hyne" [Level 2, Passive] - Lorenzo's constant hunt for the Sorceresses has further honed his ability to sense magic. In addition to sensing those of specific magic-based classes (White Sage, Black Sage, Red Sage, Cleric, Wizard, and Sorceress), Lorenzo can now see the full magic list of individuals in those classes as well.
“Bathed in Light” [Lvl 2, Passive] – Now Lorenzo can successfully negate the Holy power around him, granting him full immunity to Holy attacks.
“Opal Ring” [Lvl 3, Passive] – Named after a third piece of mythical equipment, this is naturally, the third level of Shell Shield and Mirror Mail. Lorenzo’s body, and his natural magical defense, have reached their peak, and now turns towards the offensive. At this point, Lorenzo is capable of bypassing the Reflect status, ensuring his spells always hit their target.
“Draw” [Lvl 3, Supportive] - An ability pulled directly from the FFVIII game. It allows Lorenzo to pull any spell from the target’s repertoire and use it immediately, even while silenced. At level three, this ability allows Lorenzo to use any level 3 spell that the target knows. He can perform a TOTAL of three castings of any spell(s) that do not belong to him per battle. MP Cost is factored normally.
“Bathed in Light” [Lvl 3, Passive] – Lorenzo is now one with the Angels, allowing him to Absorb Holy attacks.

Twenty years ago, Esthar was a very different place than it is today. It was still the technological envy of the world, true, but it was not a peaceful sanctuary like it is today. At one time, Esthar was ruled by the mighty Sorceress Adel. Esthar history books are a bit unclear on the subject, but at some point during the Sorceress’ reign, she became power-mad, and sought to conquer the world. This resulted in a war with the country of Galbadia; who Adel had deemed to be the largest threat, and thus the ideal place to start her conquest (keeping in mind that this was still before the invention of Mako Reactors). The war raged. Galbadia may have had numbers on their side, but Esthar had the superior weapons, and superior magic; and it seemed as though the results of the war was decided before it had even started. But appearances weren’t everything. Things may have been going wonderfully for Esthar on the battlefield, but closer to home it would seem as though Adel’s insanity was growing further. Paranoia seemed to take over, and she began kidnapping young girls from all over the land. Raids were made upon the citizens, the girls were taken, and any parent foolish enough to fight back was killed. It was the holocaust reimagined, Hell on Gaia. This is what happened to Lorenzo’s family. Imagine, if you will, a small boy, barely seven, hiding in a closet as his parents and sister are taken from him, never to be seen again. Adel’s insane obsession created a new insane obsession within Lorenzo. He was driven by revenge, and this drive led him to discover as much as he could about the Sorceress. Years passed, he grew up, in an orphanage, it was here that he first heard of the Legend of Vascoon, and The Great Hyne; both of which were common children’s stories. These tales touched him in a unique way, and for the first time in years, he understood why his family was taken from him; why Adel had kidnapped all these young women. Adopting these legends as his own, he continued on with his life, growing older, and living as normally as possible for someone in his situation. As time wore on, these stories evolved into a full-fledged religious belief, and eventually Lorenzo’s motivations changed as well. Time heals all wounds, after all. No longer was he driven by vengeance, but rather the idea that the god Hyne still lived. Hyne was the father of all Sorceresses, and he had only vanished from this world when the Sorceresses came to be. So, it stood to reason that, if Hyne’s power, locked inside the Sorceresses, was to be freed, or reunited, or something along those lines, then Hyne may yet return. And, with this thought in mind, Lorenzo has set forth on his quest to destroy all Sorceresses, not just Adel. That being said, even to this day, when he imagines the face of his enemy, it is always Adel’s ugly purple mug that comes to mind.
“Shell Shield” [Lvl 1, Passive] – Named for a mythical piece of equipment, this ability refers to Lorenzo’s natural defense against magical energies, which is substantially stronger than most people’s. Lorenzo has a semi-permanent shell status. This shell status will renew itself every three turns, even if dispelled on a previous turn. Belzera's Thoughts: Right, the auto-ability is fine however the fact that it auto restores itself is an issue as only some evo's provide autos that can't be taken out properly by Dispel. Either remove the restore part or at least make it so that it restores after so many rounds of it ending.
“Draw” [lvl 1, Support] – An ability pulled directly from the FFVIII game. It allows Lorenzo to pull any spell from the target’s repertoire and use it immediately, even while silenced. At level one, this ability allows Lorenzo to use level 1 spells that the target knows three times a battle. MP Cost is factored in normally. Belzera's Thoughts: I'll only allow this if, and only if, you draw a specific spell from the target and can only cast the spell you've drawn. This is the same for the rest of the levels.
“Bathed in Light” [Lvl 1, Passive] – Lorenzo’s faith and self-submergence in his religious relics have granted him a certain taste for all which is considered Holy, and a closeness with his God. Lorenzo is now resistant to Holy element damage. Belzera's Thoughts: Fine
“Manafall” [Lvl 1, Offense/Support] – Lorenzo targets an enemy and forcefully removes their magical energy. At level 1, this will simply cut the target's MP by half of their max MP. Costs 200 MP to use. Belzera's Thoughts: Make it 300MP cost. Also I would treat this as a spell, so reflect would work on this.
“The Eye of Hyne” [Lvl 1, Passive] – Lorenzo was once injected by the notorious Professor Hojo. The injection was a solution made from skin cells found in an ancient shrine to the god Hyne. Thanks to this alleged God-DNA within him, Lorenzo gains the ability to sense extremely powerful magical individuals within ten metres of him. Belzera's Thoughts: Honestly... The Hojo part is my major issue with this.
“The Sorceress’ Font” [Lvl 1, Supportive] – Lorenzo was once injected by the notorious Professor Hojo. The injection was a solution made from skin cells found in an ancient shrine to the god Hyne. Thanks to the alleged God-DNA inside of him, Lorenzo is now able to tap into the vast pool of magical energies that are normally only accessible to Sorceresses. As a result, Lorenzo’s MP is set to infinity for the turn following the activation of this ability. This is only usable once a thread. Belzera's Thoughts: Haha.... right... infinite MP... as a level one? At least its not completely the same as what you had... Right, if you really want something like this you need to have a major drawback to it. Such as using this disables your MP use for the rest of the thread. As for the effect, at most I'd allow for doubling of MP at level 3 or 4, but I'll tell you what consider making this half mana cost in the next round and making it use up 2 actions to use and then make it cost you mana use for at least the rest of the battle.
He has since learned from his mistakes, and has managed to refine this into a convenient ability he can use at will. Now Lorenzo has the ability to convert his own HP directly into MP, and vise-versa, at a 2 to 1 ratio (2 HP => 1 MP and 2 MP => 1 HP). Belzera's Thoughts: Honestly, higher ratio, cos honestly you cold easily have infinite mp using this and cure. Like 50HP to 1MP [cost you 500HP to get 10MP]
“Mirror Mail” [Lvl 2, Passive] – Named for a second piece of mythical equipment, this is the upgraded version of Shell Shield. Lorenzo’s semi-permanent shell is now replaced by a semi-permanent reflect, which automatically recasts itself every three turns, regardless of whether or not it has been dispelled previously. Belzera's Thoughts: A) You need Reflect, B) See the previous comments.
“Draw” [Lvl 2, Supportive] - An ability pulled directly from the FFVIII game. It allows Lorenzo to pull any spell from the target’s repertoire and use it immediately, even while silenced. At level two, this ability allows Lorenzo to use level 2 spells that the target knows three times a battle. MP Cost is factored regularly. Belzera's Thoughts: See previous comments.
“Bathed in Light” [Lvl 2, Passive] – Now Lorenzo can successfully negate the Holy power around him, granting him full immunity to Holy attacks. Belzera's Thoughts: Fine.
“Opal Ring” [Lvl 3, Passive] – Named after a third piece of mythical equipment, this is naturally, the third level of Shell Shield and Mirror Mail. Lorenzo’s body, and his natural magical defense, have reached their peak, and now turns towards the offensive. At this point, Lorenzo is immune to Silence, and is also capable of bypassing the Reflect status, ensuring his spells always hit their target. Belzera's Thoughts: The basics are fine. I'd prefer if you remove the immunity to silence though.
“Draw” [Lvl 3, Supportive] - An ability pulled directly from the FFVIII game. It allows Lorenzo to pull any spell from the target’s repertoire and use it immediately, even while silenced. At level three, this ability allows Lorenzo to use absolutely any spell (including level 4 and unique spells) that the target knows three times a battle. MP Cost is factored normally. Belzera's Thoughts: See Previous
“Bathed in Light” [Lvl 3, Passive] – Lorenzo is now one with the Angels, allowing him to Absorb Holy attacks. Belzera's Thoughts: Fine.
--I edited the Shell Shield and Mirror Mail abilities to renew three turns after being dispelled, rather than every third turn of combat. This guarantees the opponent a window of opportunity to attack. As for Mirror Mail requiring Reflect, sadly, removing Mirror Mail would also remove the level 3 CA; Opal Ring. So, with your permission, I’d like to leave the CA’s as is, under the condition that Mirror Mail simply not take effect until Reflect is purchased.
--Draw has been reworded, I think there was some confusion with how it was originally written. Lorenzo can’t cast each spell three times, but rather can make a total of three castings of spells that do not belong to him. These three castings can be three of the same spell, or three different spells. They could also be from three different targets. But, regardless, he can only do this three times per battle. I believe the way it was worded suggested that he could use each spell three times, and that is not what I intended at all.
--Increased MP cost on Manafall, as directed.
--Eye of Hyne also edited, as directed.
--Sorceress’ Font has been edited, instead of infinite mp, it now allows for a single action at 0 mp cost, and I added in a lot of restrictions as well, that will hopefully limit this ability enough to get it accepted.
--Hyne’s Lifeblood has been edited as well. It is now strictly a one-way conversion, changing mp into hp. This eliminates any worries about abusing this with the Cure spell to get unlimited mp.
--Opal Ring, removed silence immunity.

One thing though, the weapon choices are one of the following 3 options.
Alrighty, Draw 3 edited, as directed, and the spear now grants 10 mag, rather than spirit. Other than those changes, I think everything checks out. Anything else?
