Karrl, knowing he had to get stronger, if he wished to be skilled enough to take on the Coven, requested that he could have a short time away. When asked why and what he was planning on doing he had told the Headmaster that he wanted to get stronger, and he was going to hunt for the Eidolon, Lich. He did not know why he was going after it, over then gaining more power, but, when he thought about it, his mind told him to go.
It was strange really; he had started to feel, once he had obtained the Bomb Summon a while ago, that, the Eidolons, they seemed to feel right, having them at his disposal. So, with permission to leave he headed off for Esther, the known location of Lich. He had done his research on the location of all the known Eidolon, and what they were. He did not know if it would be enough to defeat them, but, it could not hurt to know his foe.
He had just arrived at Ispen’s Castle, the known location of Lich. He stood there in front of the castle, just looking at it. He seemed to be calm, in control, which, as of late, seemed to be rare for him, when he could smell a battle so close at hand. However, like his instinctual feeling of knowing the Eidolon and himself were meant to be partners, the feeling of a battle between them, excited him, but, not in the way that the beast inside was roaring to get out, in fact, it seemed, like Karrl, to be happy about that fact.

Considering the Eidolon you were going for this castle could very well end up being your resting place if you weren't careful and strong enough. You had travelled all of this way and it would be a waste to turn back now without even checking out the structure.
As you entered the castle a strong gust of wind blew through slamming the door shut behind you. The entrance hall was covered in cobwebs and dust as though no one had passed through here for years. The faint noise of footsteps caught your ears. Appearing at the top of the stairs in the centre of the room was a young long haired brunette woman. She was dressed in a light purple negligee that only really covered the bare essentials. Her shoes were flat ballerina shoes with long silk ties which criss crossed up her legs. They helped to hold up the purple flowery stockings she had used to finish off her ensemble. She looked down to you and without speaking walked down the stair. Once she had reached the bottom you could see her facial features a bit better, she looked quite youthful and her eyes matched the colour of her outfit. Her long brown hair fell over her shoulders with the rest hanging loosely down her back.
"Huh....no one else is supposed to be here. It's not like many people come here for a break away."

Karrl took a deep breath, “It’s time to get this done.” With that he started to ascend the steps. He had noticed they were reasonably steep, but nothing Karrl could not handle. He did not even break once from his quite, swift and agile strides up them. As he made his way up he wondered what kind of obstacles he would face when in the castle. He remembered he had to take down quite a few smaller bombs before coming face to face with the previous and first summon he had obtained, the Bomb Summon.
Since this summon was a one of darkness, and, from what he had read, an undead creature, maybe he would face something along those lines, like skeletons or zombies, maybe even vampires. He did not know what he was going to face, but he was stronger than he had ever been before, and was, thanks to his mission in Timber one of the few that could claim to hold the highest rank with Balamb’s Elite Mercenary Group, SeeD. He knew he could do it, well, he believed at least, as he finally made his way to the top of the stairs.
Not stopping for a second he moved from the steps into the castle itself, it was then he stopped as he passed through the doors. He looked around and was a little surprised, it seemed a lot larger from the outside. He kept all of his extremely well trained sense on anything that could come. However, when the wind blew and the doors slammed shut he instinctively drew his twin sabres, the Shuang Dao, out and got into a ready position. Something was not right; he knew that, he could feel the presence of something coming closer.
All of a sudden he heard faint footsteps coming from the top of the stairs. He looked up and kept himself ready for whatever was coming. However, what he saw was a little surprising, a woman, a beautiful one at that in quite a saucy outfit. His eyes, which were currently hazel, kept trained on her. He had to admit, if it was any other time he would try something with her, but, he was there for business, so, it was no time for idle flirting. When she spoke he stood there for a moment before speaking himself, “I’m here to battle Lich and to show him I am strong enough to be his master.”

She looked back to you as she took a few more steps closer to you, her hips swayed from side to side as she approached you. A cheeky smirk crossed her face while she placed her hands on her slender hips
"His master? There's your first mistake."
She reached up and slowly stroked your cheek trailing her thumb nail across your skin. Suddenly she slapped your face pretty hard before taking a few steps backwards. Her eyes glowed a bright purple before she out stretched her arms to the side.
"Your second mistake is thinking you will even be granted an audience. Biana was right about you....you're just a punk kid."

Ok, he knew the term his master might not have been a good choice of words, but, he was unsure how else to put it. He knew, if he was to get stronger, he would need the aid of Lich. However, he also knew, if Lich chose to join him, he could be summoned at Karrl’s will, so, maybe master was a good way to put it, never the less the woman in front of him did not seem to like that term for Lich.
When she stroked his face he watched her, unsure what was about to happen, however, what did happen surprised, and angered him. When she slapped him his head jerked, turning to one side, away from the slap, but, just as quickly as his head moved one way he jerked back into place looking at the woman, with the anger on his face. He did not like being slapped, but he was not react properly until he knew why she had slapped him.
Then came a word and drove anger through his body as if it was a railroad spike. At the mention of the witch Biana and the fact this woman worked with or for her his eyes turned instantly to red. However, due to the amount of time he had spent in a bestial state he could control himself quite well, it was when his eyes would turn silver that he was losing control. When she had finished speaking on of his blades came shooting out and was placed near the side of her neck.
He stood there watching her trying his best not to loose control, which he was going quite well. He was slightly to the side, even though his head was turned towards her. After a few seconds he turned to face her fully, his hands steady and his voice calm, well, calm enough to show he was in control, “I will get an audience with Lich, and if I have to carve my way through you, all the better. But, if you want to flee do it, but tell Biana this, one day I will come for her, and the last thing she will taste is my blade. However, if you want to be a good little witch and take to Lich, so be it.”

Suddenly she backflipped and landed on her feet holding two daggers at her side.
"It's actually quite humorous that you actually believe you will get a chance to take Biana on....poor misguided SeeD. She has no time for lost little boys who willingly hurt the one they supposedly love."
She let out a cackle like the witch she was which echoed around the entrance hall. You could see from the glass windows that darkness had now began to fall. Her purple eyes seemed to glow with malicious intent as she raised one of her daggers to point to you.

Karrl watched with anger and disgust as she licked her tongue against his blade. All thoughts of flirting or the fact she was in fact doable were out of his head. The only penetrating he was going to do with her would by his blade into her gut. He continued to watch as she winked and back-flipped drawing two daggers. When she did this he turned to face her fully and twirled his blades, getting ready for whatever was about to happen.
When she commented on how he was still a boy, and a lost one at that, as well as the fact Biana did not have time for him, he could stomach that. However, when she brought up him hurting Erinna his eyes flashed silver. He closed his eyes and took deep breaths, he would not loose control, he would keep his emotions in check, he would not let the beast inside that control. He managed to do it, but, he did not dare speak, for it might anger him even further and he would let his control slip.

Floating past you is the Lich, it glides and hovers just where the Coven female had stood. With its scythe it points it directly at you. You hear a giggle from the Coven member as she prepares herself to watch the battle.

Karrl was focused on the witch, ready to fight; however, all of a sudden a cold shiver ran down his spine. He looked at the witch and saw her back off with a smirk on her face. Karrl understood what was happening, Lich had come to fight. Karrl turned around and saw the darkness enveloping the room and he steeled himself for the fight that was to come.
Most people, at the sight that was in front of Karrl, would be afraid, however, the look in his crimson red eyes was that of focus. However, when Karrl looked at Lich a flash of silver ran through his eyes. The look on his face was hunger, a hunger for battle, but, at the same time, resolve and focus. It was like the human side of Karrl and the bestial side were working together, both sides knowing this would be a fight greater than any he had faced before.
As he stood there he spun his blades a couple of times forward then backwards, pumping himself up. As he did this a strange feeling washed over him, and he knew magic was at work. He had felt it before, he had been doomed by this undead creature, but he would not let that stop him, he would fight, he would survive, at the least the time he would either beat Lich or fall to the magic just cast on him. He smiled, the hunger for this fight growing inside of him.
When Lich came for him he took a stance readying himself for the attack. As the scythe came down he brought his Shuang Dao around to intercept the instrument of death. When the weapons clashed his twin sabres held in place. He looked at Lich, the smile still on his face and, as he struggled slightly to hold the reaper weapon in place he looked at the creature and spoke, “I will prove myself worthy Lord Lich, or die trying.” With that he forced the scythe away and took a couple of steps backwards, spinning his blades like before.

Karrl looked up at lightning and knew it could not be good. He had enough resistance in him to handle most low level magic, and even some mid level. However, the power he was getting from this spell he knew it was no low level or even mid level spell, it was high, and powerful.
He had not wanted to use this skill so early on in the fight, but, there was no go about it. If he got hit by the spell that was coming it could spell the beginning of the end for him. He sheathed his blades and clutched his hands together with the first to fingers of each hand pressed together and pointed up, as he closed his eyes and began to chant.
As he chanted his body started to glow a slightly strong tint of white. It did this for a number of seconds, as he chanted some more, before it started to shift and bend around him. All of a sudden his eyes opened just as the comet came towards him, and he started to move at blinding speed, short, burst like steps, dodging the comets. It was over quickly, and he had not been hit.
He sudden realised where he was, since that skill was one of the most draining he had, and saw Lich coming towards him. Karrl did not like play the defensive, but, something told him, for the time being, it was all he could do, to survive, since, he suddenly realised, this foe, this creature, may be too much for him to handle. He tired to bring his blades about, but, due to the draining effect of Burst Step he was too sluggish and got struck with the weapon staggering him backwards. He gritted his teeth as he took a few steps back and drew his blades again.
However, as he drew his blades he saw his chance for an offensive strike. He was not sure how much damage he could do, but, he knew he had to try this skill, it would mean, if he pulled it off, that it would make his chances of survival that much greater. With that he sheathed one of his blades and raised his free hand up with his first two fingers raised upwards and the rest closed.
He closed his eyes and began to chant once more. Yet again as he chanted his body started to glow white but the glow was slightly fainter than before, showing it was not as powerful a skill as Burst Step. All of a sudden the glowing shifted and moved to his throat until it was all concentrated around the middle of his throat. He took a deep breath and, as he opened his eyes he let out an ear splitting screech aimed straight for the Undead King.

Karrl knew he could not take too many of the strikes before it would finish him off. He stood there and watched as the creature smirked and he realised, there was no chance in hell of him beating him. However, much to Karrl chagrin, his body, spirit and pride would not let him run away.
He spun his blades around once more, making sure he followed the movements of the Lich, hoping, if he could survive the fight he could show his strength in other ways, or, at the very least, come back when he was stronger, a prospect he rarely had to think about. He did not like it, but it beats being dead.
When the Lich went into the air and performed the first strike of his strike Karrl took to one knee at the same time as the Undead King went up. When the scythe came down he brought his blades up into a crossed position to stop the weapon of the reaper.
Unfortunately Lich did not step back and Karrl had barely any time to react to the second of the attacks. Karrl rolled backwards in a diagonal motion bring himself up. However, he was a little too slow to turn around so he brought one of his sabres over his shoulder and, luckily enough, it was enough to block the second attack.
Having time to turn around he had prepared himself for the next series of attacks. However, he was well aware the witch was still there, and seemingly enjoying every minute of this. If he survived this fight he would make sure to hunt the bitch down and bury his blade into her gut.

As Karrl saw the comets coming he sheathed his blades once more. He did not want to have to use this skill, because he knew, with his present ability in it he would be able to use it again for fear of it tearing his body apart. He knew he could try and block it, but, something told him to use the skill.
Clasping his hands together with the first two fingers on each hand resting against each other pointing up he began to chant once more. As he began to chant something in his mind started to awaken, use the power Karrl, you the power you vowed never to use. Karrl tried to push the voice aside as he continued to chant. When he opened his eyes his body was glowing white and his movments, like before began to move far beyond human ability as he dodged the comets.
However, as he was moving in such a great speed the voice sounded again, use the power Karrl, you the power you vowed never to use. Karrl spoke within his mind, no, that power killed my parents, and I will never use it. The voice responded, the power is not evil, only the user is, use the power Karrl, you the power you vowed never to use, use it, or I will. Karrl knew exactly what he meant, and, in such a tough battle, he did not want to loose control.
Suddenly he staggered back, and, at first he was confused, but, he realised Lich had struck him once more, the argument with the voice inside of his head taking too much of his concentration. Suddenly he looked at Lich and a flash of silver went through his eyes and his body began to glow once again. He held his hands in the same position as before. However, his body was glowing black, like the darkness within Karrl was erupting from him.
All of a sudden he pulled one hand back, “Taste the darkness within me Lich.” With that the glowing black energy moved into his hand forming a ball of dark magic energy. He let out a roar and threw it, however, as he threw it, it was not the form of a ball anymore but a beam of magical energy. However, something else happened, when he was using it, it was like something inside of him came alive with a massive roar, and, he felt, complete, like magic completed him

As Karrl brought up his blades to protect him, he managed to deflect the first attack fine enough; however, the second attack knocked him to one knee. Karrl was feeling it, the mixture from the onslaught from the attacks from Lich, plus the doom spell slowly taking hold of him. He had faced many fearsome creatures over his travels throughout Gaia, but, Lich, the Undead King was something else. With every other creature he felt like he had a chance of defeating it, but, not this time around.
However, outside of his skills, his strongest trait when it came to battle was his never say die attitude. Even though Karrl believed he could not defeat Lich, he was not stop, he would not be defeated himself. He would continue to fight until either he got lucky, or the Doom Spell finial took him. He looked at Lich, the resolve that had been in his eyes, despite the fact he was wearing slowly out, had stayed just as strong as when he had started to fight, and he would show his strength.
He suddenly noticed something, something that might prove helpful or detrimental to his fight and possible victory against Lich. The witch, she had been standing right next to the King of the Undead, yet, it had not even taken any notice of her. He suddenly thought of something. What he had planned was not the bravest of acts, but, even if he did not win, it could mean there was one less coven member in the world. As he turned his blades he started to side step.
As he moved, quite quickly he started to move around Lich. He was not trying something so obvious as to try and get behind him, he knew something like that would never work on such a powerful foe, however, it was more like he was trying to sift its attention. Moving around Lich quickly he was also stepping away as well. He made note of where each person was, any other things that might help him in the battle, and so on and so forth. When he finally got into position he was not directly behind the witch, but, there was no doubt, if Lich had followed him, it would see the coven member.

Karrl did not like this, the only move he could have really done, in his current opinion, did not seem to work. Lich had only been momentarily distracted by the witch but soon went back to attacking him. He did not know why this was happening, ok, he knew, Karrl had challenged Lich, but, why would the Undead King barely even acknowledge the Coven member.
However, those thoughts were soon interrupted when he saw Lich was attacking him again, and the magic he felt from the attack, it was immense. He knew he could not use his ability to elevate the speed of his movement, the energy he had for that move was spent, all he could do was block and hopefully defend himself against the onslaught that was to come.
When the spell came he took a stance and brought his blades over him in a crossed pattern. However, when the magic struck him it felt like the world was spinning, and before he could do a damn thing the Lich came for an attack, which, luckily enough, he managed to block, however, it seemed that was the very last of his energy, he had lost.
Standing there for a moment or two his head began to spin and spin before he fell to his knees. He looked up at Lich with a smile on his face, “It seems I aint strong enough, you win, but, I had fun fighting you, you are truly a worthy foe.” With that, from his kneeling position he fell forward onto his front. As soon as he lay there the world went black and, he passed out.
