Dante stares out upon the strangely inviting little place named, Kalm Town. It was a very nice day. You could tell from the amount of people on the streets. All the restaurants and cafés seem to be full of people dining outside in the restaurants seating areas. “Where to start?” asks Dante ask stands against a wall looking out at the city. Then, he feels a pain in his stomach. Maybe I should get some food he thinks with a decisive expression on his face. Should I go to a grocer or a restaurant? Thinking it over, he quickly decides grocer. Starting toward the grocery store he notices a strange bunch of guys hang out around the store. Mulling it over, he decides to ignore them completely.
Entering the shop, Dante is greeted by Mrs. Winn. He has known Mrs. Winn since he was four. This was the only grocery store that his parents bought anything from. “Hello Dante!” greeted Mrs. Winn with a smile. “Hi, Mrs. Winn” replies Dante with his head lowered and eyes only concentrating on the beautifully colored apple before him. He quickly moved around the store collecting the things he wanted. At the register, he places four apples, three pears, and 3 peaches on the counter. “Ten twenty-five,” states Mrs. Winn. I hands her the money.”Thank you,” she calls out me as I hurry out of the store while putting the fruit in his backpack.
With plenty to eat and plenty to decide, Dante makes his way to the train station three blocks away from Mrs. Winn’s Shop. The train was small compared to what Dante had always envisioned a train station to be. It was in a small brown bricked building with KALM TOWN EXPRESS printed on the top of the building. Trying to enter the building Dante sees a lot of things indicate that he will not be traveling by train today. The first was a big sign on the door that read, “CLOSED TEMPORIARYLY.” The second being the absence of people in and around the building. “Well I guess I will walk,” says Dante with a sigh and a laugh.
Dante starts walking down the road marked “Midgar ->.” The sun isn’t as high as it was when he entered the town. Judging the time from the sun it must really close to eight o’clock. Dante decided that walking with no direction in the dark might be a bad idea. He stops along side of the road to set up camp. Taking the sleeping bag from backpack, he starts to lay it down far enough from the fire so it wouldn’t burn but close enough so that it would keep him warm. Dante lazily slumps to the ground and lays flat on his back. Staring out into the sky, he starts to see first few stars forming in the sky. “This is nice,” says in a clam relaxed voice.
Slowly drifting off the sleep, Dante begins here strange noises coming from right. “I bet it’s a rabbit,” says with a little fear and a lot of sleepiness in his voice.
