"How pitiful.."
His presence was noticed by several of the slum's inhabitants. Though he had already adjusted to having everyone stare at him, directing their hatred towards Shinra onto him. It bothered him slightly at first, even to the point where he had almost acted out. Over time he managed to cope with it, seeing as how staring was usually always the extent of their actions, all of them unable to take action against him for fear that he might bring retribution from Shinra.
Letting out a sigh, he continued to walk through the various areas of the slums. This place was overcrowded by people, homeless and poor alike. In response to the large, vulnerable population of the slums, several monsters had also gathered around here. It was difficult to imagine what would happen if they had suddenly decided to take over the slums completely. He would kill a few possibly, if they decided to intervene on his walk.
Currently, he was armed with his revolver hidden inside one of his suit pockets. He had been wearing his suit casually, tired of wearing formal clothes for only the occasion of committing crimes. This would make people aware that he was a Turk, which is why they had responded accordingly with their stares of hatred.
Shinra was still a good thirty minute walk away from his current position, assuming that he kept pace.

Things hadn't been going too well for Shinra ever since their defeat at the hands of the Galbadians earlier in the week. However, despite the common hatred of the poeple in the slums, none of this was any of your concern. Being in the turks your job consisted of masses of paper work combined with espionage and possible kidnapping. Or really whatever the hell the Shinra Executives had in mind for that particular time. It was a tough job. But it paid well. Damn well.
Recently the turks had been given a special assignment, you'd know the basics of it. But hadn't yet recieved any orders to act on it. At the moment it seemed Reno and the others were taking care of it for the most part. There had been explosions in Midgar on the day of the fight. Shinra had placed the blame on Avalanche, at least the terrorists were coming in handy for something. But in reality it wasn't them. Al Bhed infiltrators had set the bombs.
Al Bhed. All the way from Spira. Just what were they planning? Some kind of weird insurrection? Or maybe they wanted Shinra's coveted mako technology for their own? Who knew.

Walking alone in silence was beginning to get to him, unable to comprehend why he wasn't assigned help for his recent assignment. It was simply information gathering, but he would have liked assistance. It wasn't unheard of to be sent alone on an assignment, seeing as how most of the Turks were either busy or working on the "special" assignment. Sky placed his hands into his pockets, adding a kick in his last step as a way of ventilating his anger.
"I should be working with the others right now, but instead I'm here in this damned place."
Taking another brief look around, he couldn't believe that just three months ago, the DC virus had been released. Several causalities occurred on both sides, simply for the sake of Shinra's mistake. It seemed as if recently, a lot of large-scale events were happening involving Shinra. This included the bombing from Avalanche, the group of terrorists who opposed Shinra through obstruction of property and equipment through bombing and such. It was rumored that their hideout was somewhere in Midgar, but that wasn't Sky's duty to find out.
The amount of idle thinking he had been doing kept him occupied for the next few minutes. With the distance he had covered, Shinra was now only fifteen minutes away. A sore feeling was beginning to build up in the bottom of his foot. Normally this would have been ignored, but it seemed as if everything was out to irritate him today. He would take out his anger on whoever decided to bother him next.

Getting out of Midgar wasn't easy if one were to take legal means to escape the technological hub. If one were to attempt to leave ILLEGALLY, he'd probably get shot and thrown in jail for his troubles. So- Vale decided to take the hard way out and fill out all of the paperwork and various computer forms in the middle of one of the most dangerous places in the world for him (aka, Shinra). He didn't look like he normally did- dressed in his red cloak and his hair every which way.
Today, Vale bought a nice suit, some blue contacts, some hair gel and a sort of harness to hide his wings so he wouldn't be recognized by the behemoth corporation. So- he walked with no weapon, wearing a black pinstripe suit with his hair gelled back. He wasn't overly worried about the monsters- after all, he had enough magic in his arsenal to put any fiend foolish enough to attack him in an early grave.
To be perfectly honest, Vale didn't really want to leave. Sure, he lived in the slums and didn't have a very nice home. But it WAS home... something he hadn't really called anything in his original realm. And now he had to give it up because he kept on throwing in with the wrong crowd... or right crowd- he wasn't sure which. Anyway, if things weren't bad enough when he was kidnapped with the psycho bitch and guy-who-got-eaten, Vale had to go and make things worse just because Belzera had wanted him to fight with Galbadia. Which was cool and all... and it paid well... but now he was basically one of the biggest public enemies in the area. And nowhere in Midgar was safe.
About ten minutes away from the Shinra building Vale had the luck to run into none other than a Turk. Taking a deep breath, he walked right next to the man (because if he were in front of him he couldn't see what he was doing and if Vale were in back of him the Turk might assume he was trying to kill him and shoot Vale)- nodding carefully at him as he did so. Vale didn't recognize him, which was a good thing considering all of the other Turks had seen him at some point or another (whether it be on video camera, at the battle between Galbadia and Midgar or some other time).
He sighed with relief at this fact- there was little to no chance that the Turk would recognize him... Vale just hoped he wasn't in a bad mood or something. Turks usually took out their anger on whoever was in the closest vicinity to them when they were in a bad mood.

((Note- read Transfer to Midgar and Setting Sun for details on Vale's relationship with Midgar- if you are interested. Luca- The City of Opportunity is another one with a bit of history, I think.))
