"Its strange how just one simple misunderstanding sparks a series of events that lead to the deaths of thousands...if not millions....the first day of the Galbadia Shinra war was one such day....tensions had already been increasing over the two world military superpowers....With Galbadia's last move, stealing one of Shinra's secret projects...things had been tense and on edge for awhile....but as the sun set on the marshes outside of the mithril mines...something happened that lit the fuse under the explosive pile the two nations had been building".
" Galbadian military personel were becoming a common site on the Midgar continent, their excuse over this was that they were there to see over the trade routes and ensure that their cargo reached Galbadia without complications. And true enough to their word, most soldier came and went with the cargo. However...others. As Shinra noticed. Seemed to go missing. Spies were a common work between to rival nations. But it didn't help to ease the pressure. However despite all this it was a mistake that ended up setting off the war.".
" A Galbadian military convoy were escorting their cargo through the marshland. They had been warned before hand that if they didn't move quickly and quiestly through the marshes, they would become prey to the deadly monster that lived there. The Midgar Zoloom. However, the Galbadians, whether through sheer ignorance or arrogance. Failed to take the advice of the locals. And not only took their time about crossing the marshes. But were loud about it, shooting every monster that crossed their paths. The end result of course was inevitable. The giant snake tracked them down, and set upon the soldiers. Overwealmed they were forced to retreat, taking heavy losses. "
" Embarassed, and afraid. The Galbadians instead told of how they were set upon by bandits, and how they had lost the cargo of Mithril in their retreat. The Galbadians, in response reported this to Shinra Soldier, who did dispatch a team. However this team reported that there were no signs of Bandits. Perhaps suggesting ( in truth) that they had been set upon by the Zoloom. The commanding officer was enraged by this, thinking that Soldier took his men for incompetants ( with no idea, that this was exactally what they were)....events began to escalate...guns and swords were drawn....communications broke down between both groups. Galbadia were warned to move their armed forces out of the marsh area. However they did not comply. Rather, reinforcements were sent from Galbadia to strengthen their hold on this. Shinra took this as an act of war. A Galbadian invasion. Soldier units, along with freelance warriors were sent to deal with this. No one knew just how bad this battle would get..."
Description: This is the first battle in the Shinra/ Galbadia war. Galbadia are in the North, holding their position near Chocobo Billy's farm. They have no particular leader that is known. Midgar's forces are near Kalm, using the village to help supply the army. The Midgar forces are led by several Soldier first class. Including Sephiroth. Unknown to both sides, and unknown force is creeping up from the south east.
Area:
Joining either force: Literally anyone can join this thread, regardless of where your characters are. Giving you a chance to shape the plotline of the site. Even become a hero of the war. You may join the Galbadia or Midgar forces if you have no organisation, or if your organisation isn't involved in the conflict.Obviously however if you are part of Shinra you won't be fighting for Galbadia. An Admin will constantly be updating this thread, and it WILL move quickly.
Rewards This is a HIGH reward event. Meaning that other than the reward of being imbedded into the history of the site. You will be given high experience awards at the end of the event.
Controlling NPC's You may control soldiers on both sides. Allies helping you, and enemies you kill. However I don't expect you to be wiping out millions of soldiers on your own. Major NPC's like Sephiroth will be controlled by the Admin.
Belzera's wings ached as he looked down at the red haired Sorceress he carried beneath him, she was a stubborn woman that was for sure but she was strong and rather annoyed at events that had unfolded here in Midgar. Belzera's could see the mass of Galbadian warriors now below them and smiles as he releases Blue down to the ground, not even checking to see if she lands safely before he flies up higher into the sky spinning around and breathing in happier now he had gotten rid of her extra weight and with a smile he chuckles and swoops down over the Galbadian forces towards the front lines and stops in mid air his wings softly flapping keeping him high in the air with a grin as he spreads out his arms widely and looks down at the mass of SOLDIER beneath him before he lets out a awe inspiring roar.
"Hear me SOLDIER, the Sorceress and her knight have arrived, let me show you our power"
He grins and then holds his arms up above his head as purple mist forms behind him, and starts to curl up into small purple orbs, ten in fact each of which quickly forms into a copy of his weapon, Adonis and Belzera grins.
"Dodge them if you can, otherwise it might be painful"
Belzera starts laughing before he flicks his arms forward and the ten Blades fire forward towards the ground that the warriors where stood upon., the initial blast that flies them forward forces belzera back as the blades break the sound barrier and crash into the mass of the SOLDIERS stood upon the ground below, the few that dodge the volley of Adonis's however are worse off as the sonic boom blasts them back through the ranks. Belzera leaves his arms in front of him, smiling at how well the ability works against large numbers of foes and continues using his Demonic Barrage firing volley after volley down at the warriors below him and laughing more than he would, as he was putting on airs giving them something to be afraid of.
Blue lands on one knee her hands against the ground as she looks up to see Belzera flying off towards the front lines and chuckles faintly to herself before she stands up and looks around surrounded by many of the fools that had started this conflict, however punishing them wasn't her goal right now, they had started this and she was going to finish their little mess even if she had to personally snap every enemy leaders neck. She Stood up straight and then breathed in deeply before she shouts.
"I want the fools that are in command here right now so I can win this little conflict the fools have started"
She then crosses her arms and turns towards the front lines where she could see the demon hovering high in the sky unleashing his barrage down upon the ground that the SOLDIERS stood upon, hopefully killing at least some of them. She curls her lips for a moment in a manner that was not her own as she gently speaks in a cold tone that no one but she could hear.
"Not quite how things should be going but if they can win now it will make my goal so much easier, the less resistance the quicker I can find that girl."
((All right! I'm up for this... but do you think I could simply have my character hired by a force instead of actually joining one? And Shinra wouldn't make too much sense for me, I think, especially with the whole Transfer to Midgar thread? Belzera could probably convince my character to join Galbadia, but it's up to the admins, I suppose.
So! I'm up for either Midgar or Galbadia! It just depends on who wants me more and who will pay me more (in character, of course XD). Also, one last note, if one side has a significantly larger force, I'll go to the smaller one.
((I suppose that I will post soon too, I know Rufus will be involved, the question is how will I explain Sirxeko's involvement. He doesn't like battle much. I need to think on that one.))
OOC: I dont like to fill up a thread with OOC's but guys its not hard, think like your character.
Blue joined becuase her soldiers fucked up and she is cleaning up the mess Belzera joined becuase he has an arrangement with Blue
Would Sirxeko join to help out his countrymen or for money, you said he's not one for a fight so how about he isn't here at all, just becuase its a big event it doesn't mean you have to join.
and to Fool, would he work for money alone or would he choose the side that he knows? becuase Belzera is a very big marker in the sky for the Galbadian forces. so both of you just step into the characters mind its not that hard, even Sly could do that. Although he was in even freaking major event back in the group days......
The Demon Belzera's barrage attack had killed a small number of the soldier troops, and had injured a few more with the sonic boom that soon followed. Moral was shooting up on the Galbadian side as warriors shouted their battle cries. Knowing that they had the sorceress and her demonic knight here with them, that they would step forward and become the worlds premiere super power. Among the Midgar forces the opposite was true, after Belzera's barrage they were begining to worry, word spread that the sorceress herself was here to see that the forces of Midgar were put to route.
However, members of the elite force began to move aside, as did Shinra grunts. There was a cheer, starting from the back of the Shinra forces, moving up to the front as this one man passed by. He stopped in the middle of the crowd. Indistinguishable from the rest of the army. That is, until he drew back his blade and sliced it forward into the air. A blast of blue energy shot outwards heading towards Belzera. The slice would be a confirmed hit, however it was not designed to be a strong hit. Rather more of a forceful push, knocking the air out of this sorceress knight, and returning him swiftly to the ground. A tactic to shame him. And in turn the soldiers he fought with.
The silver haired Soldier stood out now from amongst the crowd. An arrogant smirk crossing his face. He wasn't a man of many words. His mere presence alone was enough to bolster the soldiers moral to critical levels. However, it wouldn't be this man Belzera would be interested....rather the one behind him. It had been said there were three soldier first class members on this field of combat today. One Sephiroth. Two. A black haired youth wielding a large sword. And the third. He was the one who turned to speak. " Soldiers....this Sorceress is nothing more than some Galbadian mage who got too big for her boots!....Lets show them what happens when you pick a fight with Midgar!". Kigal. Soldier. First class.
There were several things Vale could be doing with his time that would be better than going to war. Building model boats and trains, playing children's card games and volunteering his time to various charitable organizations all seemed to be better than going to war. Nevertheless, when he ran into his old acquaintance, Belzera, Vale was swayed by the demon General to join forces with Galbadia (for a nominal fee, of course. No matter how little he helped, Vale usually expected a fee for his work).
Sitting on top of a recently purchased Chocobo (which he had decided to name Chocoboh, because it would be easy to remember) Vale watched as the Lucavi general launched some sort of purple attack at the rival forces. Why does everything have to be purple with him? Vale wondered as he shook his head to the oncoming death screams of the Midgar forces. He supposed it was his turn to get to work.
The demon's hands formed odd gestures as he began to utter an incantation for a Flare spell, which he promptly lobbed into the enemy forces. Thank the gods accuracy wasn't an issue here, or else his spell would never hit at the distance he was at. He leapt off of Chocoboh and flew above the enemy forces, continuing to launch several Flare and Thunder spells from the skies. Cries of death soon reached the demon's ears and he returned to his original resting place on a small outcropping in the southwest corner of the farm.
Vale had, unfortunately, spent more time in the sky than he had anticipated (he had a knack for losing track of time while he was casting- it seemed to go faster probably due to the adrenaline rush he got when he casted) and his recent hiding place had been discovered by a SOLDIER and a few (three) grunts. Vale promptly launched a Blizzard spell at one of the footmen and dropped into a nearby tree. The two other soldiers looked about, confused at what had just occurred. Only the SOLDIER apparently knew what was going on and began to stalk towards the tree Vale had decided to hide in. The demon cursed under his breath and mentally went through his options.
1) He could leap out and try to take the three by surprise and probably get shot down. 2) He could run away and probably run into more enemy forces and get shot down. or 3) He could stay where he was and wait for the SOLDIER to get close enough for Vale to cut his throat with his shiny new short sword. And probably get run through by that ridiculously large sword.
Rumors, they darted around the battlefield, from one soldier to the next, each time, the rumor would get more distorted as they passed through the mouths and ears of the warriors, sorcerors, and others. It was a common thing in the field of battle, they panicked, stories emerged, and the armies foolishly believed these rumors, despite the fact they often sounded ludicrous to anyone with a sane mind. But, those who entered the battlefield often lost that sanity, if only temporarily, to the screams of agony, the clashing of steel, the sounds of explosives, and even to their own beliefs. It was a somewhat odd phenomonon to witness, even though many men lost their lives here, more lost themselves to the ravages of battle, forgetting who they were when pitted against their foes. Their primal instincts took over, and like ravage animals, they wanted nothing more than to rip each other apart and feast on the spoils of war that they had so rightfully earned. Sometimes, when under an excellent commander, they did it in a dignified, orderly manner, neatly positioning in pre-assigned ranks, firing and attack only when commanded, the commanders that were able to do this held true skill. More often than not however, once the fighting truly commenced, the ranks dissolved, the commander's words fell on deaf ears, their men to lost in their primal urge to slaughter each other, they were nothing more than a disorganized mob with hi-tech weapons in that scenario. And one of the biggest weapons that helped create those mobs, was fear, and fear often had a funny way of making itself known through rumors, which once again, tended to sometimes range from the sensible and possible, to the flat out ludicrous rantings and ravings of desperate soldiers.
So, what was the rumor of the day for this fancy little skirmish, what was the rumor that caused the strongest warriors to falter, and the truly inexperienced to fall into a rut of desperation, the most desperate even flat out deserting? The answer was that a shadow had taken to the field, a shadow neither Galbadia nor Midgar had tamed, the rumor being he had an invincible suit of armor, and could summon millions of blades to skewer his foes. This however, like most war rumors, was also a massive exaggeration on the part of the soldiers, doing what they could to keep themselves alive, to keep themselves from becoming just another victim. However, this "shadow" was an apparently known assassin by the name of Nightmare Darklight, or, at least that's what they said his name was, some doubted it was his actual one, others took it for a sign of a demon, one that could crush both forces under his thumb. One thing was certain however, fear began to rise amongst both sides, this demonic figure had risen to smite both of them, and one by one, the forces would fall to his blades. The soldiers who heard this, both Galbadia and Midgar, would feel paranoia rising, only those who were the most experienced could see through the legend, having known what the rumors of war could do. To Nightmare Darklight however, he knew that the sides knew him, knew what he was, what he could do, they had witnessed him in battle, and were terrified of what they heard, but he knew that both sides knew of the Assassin.
And that was BAD.
Nightmare was an assassin, he wasn't meant to be known by the world, while infamy was desired by the criminals and other assassins, Nightmare knew it to be a bad thing, a very very bad thing. Despite the thought that recognition of prowess made people fear you, which in all honesty, was true, it was as much a curse as it was a blessing to those who examined everything before them. Yes, it did give you the element of fear, but it also encouraged the adventurous, the lawful, and those who just wanted to prove themselves, to attack you in an attempt to end your life and gain their own recognition. They would gain their recognition if they killed you, then someone else would rise to kill the one who ended you, beginning an endless cycle, fueled by the foolish desires of mortals. Not only that, but an assassin worked and thrived in the shadows, his kills quick and silent, never leaving a mark or any trace of their presence so they could be tracked, or even worse, stopped. The fact that Nightmare was a known entity was a very nasty thing, proving that somewhere along the way, he had slipped, and left a trace of him, but when was this screw up? The truth was, it had actually been in this little skirmish, some soldiers, both Galbadian and Midgar, had witnessed him taking out infantry on both sides, and fled back to their commander, from there the rumors started, churning out more and more ridiculous stories.
Yet, despite being a professional assassin, Nightmare worked in such an odd way, that it was actually incredibly brilliant to some when they thought about how he went about doing things, some insane, some odd, some stupid. Nightmare seemed to find refuge in audacity, stealth wasn't a factor, it was this that made him so dangerous, unpredicable, and yet so unlike the conventional assassin that few truly expected it. They all thought he was harmless, posing no threat, after all, what kind of assassin would clearly make himself known to the target they wanted to kill in the first place? The truth was, it was Nightmare who did this, he had learned that there actually was some strange amount of truth to the phrase "So stupid it's brilliant", as odd as one might think it to be. He had used this tactic so many times, and time and time again, the target would fall for it, expecting the assassin to be stealthy, quiet, and doing whatever they could to remain hidden. It was this expectation that made them such easy targets, as they kept their eyes so focused on their idea of an assassin, they had no idea one was often right beside them, the one meant to kill them. But, it seemed more or less, the soldiers hadn't learned of his tactics, and were only panicking because of the afore mentioned incident, that was a relief.
But, of course, the stupid also felt a need to prove themselves on the field of battle, this was once again shown by a SOLDIER, an elite of Shinra, charging towards Nightmare. While they were the elite, they were trained, they were experienced, but Nightmare had one solid advantage that would absolutely guarentee his victory over the attacker. His mind was calm, the adrenaline of war hadn't set in like it seemed to with everyone else, thus, he was able to make more rational moves and actions, though perhaps his view of rational could be drastically different. Either way, he knew he'd win over the elite, but what class was this-- oh wait, blue uniform, so he would either guess 1st or 2nd, he had never really SEEN a 2nd class, per se, only 3rd and 1st. He never understood that, well, anyway, he had to focus on the one trying to end his life, he'd guess he only would have a few seconds before his head would roll. Thankfully he and this SOLDIER were the only one around, everyone else seemed to run off to watch a battle between a Sorceress and the legendary SOLDIER, Sephiroth. That would mean no one would see what he was about to do to this poor sucker, which was a blessing in disguise, Nightmare didn't need more people knowing of his own existence.
The SOLDIER swung his blade, and Nightmare dived in, completely unarmed, Silversnake sheathed at his side, it was a stupid move to most, but Nightmare knew just how to make it work, it was his own personal touch after all. The assassin's right arm shot out, the forearm smacking against the SOLDIER's own arm, blocking the blow from finishing, just as he had expected earlier. The foe was surprised, caught off guard by the fact such a ludicrous move had succeeded, and that was all Nightmare needed to ensure his victory, this fight was as good as over. With a grin, Nightmare's left hand flattened, being swung towards the attacker, using the surprise to the advantage, the SOLDIER never saw the judo chop against his neck coming. With a quick snap, the man crumpled to the ground, no one would ever see his sacrifice, or his loss, he was just another victim in this war. Now, to enact the second part of a plan he maaaaay have concocted up a few minutes ago, after all, he could think on his feet if he wanted, it had worked before as well.
Knowing no one was around, Nightmare disrobed, stripping the fallen SOLDIER of his uniform, he was going to disguise himself as said SOLDIER he had just killed, making sure to get deep inside Midgar. Now, he had no intention of fighting for Galbadia, but once they realized he had killed a SOLDIER, disguised himself and snuck right into the heart of their base, they just might hire him. Once again, it was refuge in audacity and the ridiculous, but he was sure it would pay off, just like it had before, and just like it likely would again for the unconventional assassin. Why would he choose to do this for Midgar though, why the home of the massive corporation known as Shinra, would he choose to fight for? The truth was, it paid the most, not to mention, that deep down, in his soul, perhaps he still held some of his primal feelings, an urge to kill, and urge to battle, an urge to fight the best. Perhaps in his own way, he wanted to know what it was like to battle Sephiroth, to truly see the merit of SOLDIER, of Shinra, perhaps he wanted to see what it was like to battle one who could control their adrenaline like he could. Legends spoke of the man as if he were a God, legends were now speaking of Nightmare, a demonic shadow neither side could contain as well, a clash of the titans perhaps?
With his new uniform in place of his old clothes, the helmet covering his head, Nightmare smirked, moving towards the command center for Midgar. He knew his disguise would fool the grunts of Shinra, but the SOLDIERs would want proof that he was the real deal and not some imposter. Well, he didn't have blood on his uniform, that would help the illusions, he was also highly experienced, another known trait of SOLDIER. Even if that failed, he also had one last trait; charisma, the silver tongue, the ability to negotiate, and convince so well, that some would think you were blessed. If that failed, then it failed, he just had to get out of there and live to fight another day, he had messed things up before, and he learned from them. He learned from his mistakes, improved upon his craft, and simply employed his new tricks next round, and now that he thought about it, he could just try and confuse them. As ridiculous as that sounded, it had worked before. An officer once tried to arrest Nightmare for a murder that he did commit, when asked if he knew who the victim was, Nightmare burst into this long winded explanation, complete with confusing words, large ones, and often words that held the same meaning as other words he had used in the same sentence. While Nightmare had essentially said "yes" to the officer's question, the officer was so confused that he just told Nightmare to keep an eye out if he noticed anything. But for now, it was likely best to just try to impersonate the SOLDIER.
He couldn't help but grin though, any moment, and he'd be going into the heart of the command center in this field of war.
OOC: Just a little note for people. I noticed quite a few of you are using collective totals for your total word count. Now this hasn't been a problem before, but someone has brought it up and I agree. Using this makes it harder for Admins to tell if thats really the number of experience you got. So rather than using the collective word count. Please have an individual total for each thread you are in. And post an update at the end of each thread. It makes it easier for Admins, and causes less confusion.
Blue turned around dropping the briefcase to the ground and kicking it open before she returns to address the Officers.
"We are out numbered and out classed, correct?"
She didn't wait for an answer instead she pulls out hte large doll that looked extactly like her and places her hands onto it and then one onto herself.
[shadow=yellow,left,300]Festinatio[/shadow]
She muttered and they both flashed blue for an instant as the haste spell infected them both, she then returned her attention to the officers once more and then smiles.
"Its simple all we need to do men is fight brutally and without concern for our own lives or for the idiots out there for every man we lose I want them to take out five of the enemy, I want the gunners to fire into the enemies mow them down and who knows if we win I might just order Belzera to start reviving our fallen."
She smiles faintly and then turns around, the doll does too in perfect sync with her as she steps forward and starts dashing through their lines as she was nearly at the front she saw a blue flash of light hit Belzera engulfing him for a minutes, however the effect on the troops would be worse if he fell, she Bit her lower lip and then bends her knees and then leaps over the front line of the Galbadian forces pulling her fist back, the doll mimicing her in perfect sync she grins spotting three elites.
"Hey nimrods!"
She shouted as she started to approach her landing point right on top of Sephiroth.
"Say that to my face or are you too scared"
She laughs as both her and the Dolls Attacks landed smashing into the ground as the SOLDIER elites had been given enough time to evade however the stoic unmoving ground didn't stand a chance and between her and the doll their punches shattered the ground as if it had been hit with a sledge hammer. Seconds later both Blue and her identical doll where stood up clearly in a fighting stance as she looked at the SOLDIER Elites, in her eyes wasn't fear or arrogance but pleasure and excitement, she wanted this fight since while she was a sorceress, she was also a brutual melee fighter.
"So what will it be men? scared?"
She chuckles and waits for their next move her voice echoing the excitement she felt and she knew she could easily lock one of them in combat between her and her doll.
Belzera smirked and brought his arms up to gaurd against the energy blast from the sword and he steeled himself agaisnt the assualt expecting something brutual from the Soldiers but the blast hit belzera and it was weak, weaker than the demon had expected so as the energy engulfed him he started to luagh and he did fall from the sky holding his sides as he luaghed out crazily as he stopped hovering and only seconds after blue had arrived at the front lines to confront the SOLDIERs Belzera had hit the ground and his luaghter could be heard through the front lines as he pulled himself up onto his feet and wiped away the tears from his eyes as he slowly moved to confront the Elites.
"ha-ha, sheesh and I was ha, expecting, hahahaha"
Belzera puased for a moment pulling his hand onto one of the Galbadian forces shoulders as he pulled himself together. He waves to the Elites as if to forget his luaghter as he quickly got it under control.
"I'm so..."
Belzera holds back another laugh as he walked up beside Blue and puts his hand onto her shoulder.
"sorry, but I expected more from the three elites of SOLDIER"
He pointed to Kigal,
"The son of the Ancients"
then to Sephiroth,
"The Son of the Calamity from the skies, and"
he points to the black haired man who held a sword he recognised as belonging to Cloud Strife and then scratches his chin for a moment trying to recall who the third one was, but he came up completely blank and then shrugs
"a nobody, or at least a nobody that knows Cloud Strife"
He smiles and then holds out his left hand infront of Blue and smiles faintly as he calls his blade Adonis to his hands and it appeared forming out of a purple mist and into a long sleek black but strangely shaped blade that looked almost like a key, he then swipes at the air for a few seconds, the 10 swipes were extremely fast and after he had done that he looks back to Blue and then to the Elites.
"Oh sorry I'm disrupting the rhythem of this battle aren't I?"
He chuckles to himself and then points the Keyblade towards Sephiroth and with a grin.
"Tell me you've been to Nibelheim and found out the truth behind your Birth no? because if you haven't you might as well I'm sure your monster of a mother would love to meet you in this world too."
And as Belzera finished speaking a Hecto-flare was fired from the tip of adonis and with incredible speed it shot forward and hit Sephiroths shoulder breaking through the clothes and the skin before hitting the bone and then exploding under the skin attempting to render the warriors sword arm useless.
Icarus stood beside Ken Amada, surrounded by galbadia soldiers on all sides. Icarus looked over at Ken and spoke in a low voice, "So, shall we show them what we can do?" Asked Icarus with a large smile on his face. The green haired youth grabbed his short sword and began to swing it in the air. He watched as the one known as Belzera began to fight the strongest on the other side, he wasn't going to let him have all the fun.
Ken:
Ken looked at the one he was to protect, "This is not your fight, Icarus, but I appreciate the help." Said Ken speaking more like and adult then a child since the situation called for it, "Follw me, Icarus, we stay together. Just because we left Spira does not mean I will not protect you." Ken looked very serious as he walked towards the front lines of the fighting, Icarus following right behind him. When they arrived at the enemy, Ken stood in his battle stance with just his gloves for his weapon. Three midgar grunts stood in front of Ken with smiles on their faces as they held their swords towards him. Ken closed his eyes and as they opened they began to radiate white. A variety of voices began to emit from the youth's mouth all at once, all the voices speaking in unison, "We may have fallen to your forces in the past, but no more. We shall have our retribution." The voices echoed as the three grunts looked at Ken in confusion. Without much thought, the grunts charged at Ken. They each attacked Ken from the front, each attacking at the same time. The youth activated his aero spell, jumping over right over the enemies, flipping in the air to face the grunts. After landing, Ken moved his open palm and hit the back of grunt in the middle. A blast of wind shot from the palm of Ken and sent the grunt flying. The other two grunts jumped back as the strongest of them had been defeated so easily.
Icarus:
The green haired youth watched as his guardian began to fight with the midgar forces. He was not to sure why he had such a grudge against them, but Ken was his friend and guardian, he would fight beside him without question. Icarus followed and stayed back as Ken fought the first of the grunts. As Icarus watched, his amulet began to glow as his knees bent as well. As the two lesser grunts jumped back from the attack, Icarus launched forward at the grunts and slashed the one on the left across the stomach then dashed over to the other and slashed him across his chest. Icarus, still bent over from dashing, stood up straight and waved his sword in the air, taking the blood off of it. He looked towards Ken, who was currently in his trance, with a little concern, "Not sure exactly whos in control, but lead and I will follow." Said Icarus showing his full trust in Ken.
Blue's eyes widen in surprise as Belzera speaks to the three Elites, he knows them!? ran through her mind for a moment seems like we picked an interesting knight. Blue then lowers her head and smirks faintly before shaking it softly in sheer disbelief and whispers slightly to herself
"who extactly are you Belzera?"
She then raised her head and fixed a steely glare at the three Elites as Belzera started into his little talk about Nibelheim to Sephiroth and she rotates her forward hand from its upwards cup clawish shape into a more salute / pointing form which was aimed towards the trio of elites and she closed her eyes and within a moment she felt the energy rise once more and with a faint whisper she speaks the common, the timing was perfectly in sync with Belzera's attack upon Sephiroth.
[shadow=yellow,left,300]Caecus[/shadow] The trigger unleashed an enchantment that was meant to blind the three elites, then she would with Belzera's aid proceed to rip them to shreds infront of their soldiers, with any luck at least. Once this is all sorted I think I need to have a nice long chat with Belzera she thought to herself as she prepared to attack in sync with her chosen Knight, the demon lord belzera grimoire.
Blue's Word Count: 216 Blue's Exp: 85.9
OOC: Thought a quick post before mal's next update was in order she needed to react to a few things before I could really move on lol.
Also I am using latin for Blue's casting if anyone is wondering.
Things wern't looking good for the Midgar forces, Galbadia although smaller in number seemed to have more experienced warriors on their side. The Soldier members of Midgar, were of course far more well trained, but their numbers didn't match up. And the bulk of the army was made up of grunts and machine fighters. The three leaders of the Midgar forces looked up at the sorceress's Knight. Kigal remained cool under the words, as did Sephiroth. But the thoughts began to dig in. Just what lay in Niblehiem?
As for Zack. He raised an eyebrow. " Cloud?...what about the little guy?". Sephiroth looked back " Don't let him distract you...puppy...". That was of course when Belzera's attack hit Sephiroth's shoulder. At first the warrior grabbed his ar. Was it a success? The silver haired devil looked back, tearing off the shread of cloth that hectaflare had broken. He merely grinned and drew back his sword. The blade began to glow with a blue heu that was similar to the intial slash that had knocked Belzera from the skies in the first place. He then slashed forward, cutting the air. There was a strange silence in the moments afterwards then suddenly a direct line was cut through the Galbadian forces. Men and women alike fell as an invisible force cut through their bodies arms and legs. If one was looking at it from a birds eye view, they'd see that Sephiroth's slash had cut a straight line down the Galbadian forces following the line of his original cut. No thicker than that. Zack grinned. " Com'on guys, lets get them!". The Midgar forces charged. And Sephiroth began to slowly walk towards the Galbadian forces. To him....time was nothing.
---BOSSES ADDED--- On each side there are bosses. Defeating these bosses will give your side an edge in the battle. If all the bosses on one side are defeated, then the army must retreat. Defeating bosses will gain you additional experience. Bosses usually require high word counts to defeat. So you may think about teaming up against a boss. When teaming up the experience will be divided among the party equally
---PVP COMBAT---PVP is inevitable in this war.The rules for PVP in wars are similar to in normal rp combat. The only difference being that you cannot kill your opponent. If a person is defeated in PVP combat during a war, they must retreat. Or alternatively, wait for a person with healing magic to cure them.

((Hmmm... can I put myself up for PvP as well? I know I'm not integral or anything to the Galbadian forces, but I'm always up for some PvP stuff.))
Sweat beaded on Vale's brow while he waited for the SOLDIER to discover his hiding place. Seconds stretched on to feel like hours as the experienced Shinra recruit searched through the various available places of concealment. The Lucavi mumbled what he believed to be his last words, prayers to some unknown god or goddess from his original realm.
However, at that point a large, invisible force rippled through the battlefield. This was enough to distract the SOLDIER and his two goons- a turn of incredible luck for the demonic adolescent. He swiftly dispatched the SOLDIER in front of his with a quick thrust of his sword to the back of his head. The two grunts (who were more worried about figuring out where the huge wave of energy came from than noticing their now deceased comrade) were still oblivious to the boy as he launched a Thunder spell at one of them- which caused the other to finally notice the existence of the demon. The foot-soldier spun around, firing his machine gun wildly; it was only by pure chance that Vale was not hit by the errant bullets. He quickly finished off the last guard with another blast of Thunder and slumped down near a nearby tree.
Casting multiple spells repeatedly after one another was always a major concern for Black Mages, such as Vale. One spell too many and you could find yourself more enervated than a person in a coma. Vale had obviously crossed his boundaries- he had felt it coming on too, but desperate times called for desperate measures, and he was forced to surpass his limits unless he wanted to die.
Vale, luckily, was always prepared for such things and carried a small arsenal of ethers on himself at all times. He quickly removed one of the concoctions from within his cloak and downed it in a single gulp. Power rushed back into his body and he leapt back to his feet, stowing the empty glass container in a small pouch on his belt. Thank the gods for little things like this...
The Lucavi sprinted back towards the Galbadian forces that had hired him (for significantly less than Midgar was offering... but it was hard to turn down a hulking purple demon who could easily kill you in one attack; not to mention if he saw Rufus or any guard that had survived the encounter at Shinra after his arrest... well, it was better he was on the Galbadian forces) for a more defendable position than a small grove of trees.
Vale, if it wasn't obvious already, was particularly good at getting himself into bad situations. He had been farther into the Midgar territory than he had originally thought, and, as a result, managed to bowl straight into the frightening-looking Sorceress who had been near Belzera as he hired Vale; sending both the young demon and the woman (who was no doubt infuriated) sprawling. The three elite Midgar SOLDIERS looked on, amused as Vale managed to detangle himself from the woman and mumble an apology as he helped her back to her feet. He then turned to what he thought were simply three somewhat odd (look at that hair!) enemy SOLDIERS and nearly wet himself. Sephiroth, Zack and Kigul... Vale cursed his ill luck for the millionth time in his life and took a few cautious steps backwards. He was considering attempting to do what you were supposed to do when a bear was assautling you: play dead- but he assumed the men were slightly more intelligent than your average grizzly and instead opted to take slow steps backwards while he kept his eyes on the men.
To be completely honest, Vale was only especially worried about Sephiroth. He had only briefly heard about the other men, and, as far as he knew, they weren't as insanely powerful as the silver-haired SOLDIER. However, he did know that Sephiroth was, among other things, merciless and wouldn't hesitate to cut down an opposing enemy recruit. The only thing that was keeping Vale from immediately turning around and sprinting the other direction was the fact that he wouldn't be able to see the fabled SOLDIER draw his sword and that Sephiroth would probably enjoy killing him all the more if he thought Vale was a coward.
So- as a result, Vale stayed near his two commanding officers (but not too near) and began to mumble his Flare spell- though his hands were hidden beneath his cloak to hide the gestures (and the hand-glowing that accomanied the use of Magicks of any sort) and, to the enemy Elites, it would appear as if he simply went insane from seeing the three of them in the same place and was mumbling excitedly to himself. Vale waited for his superiors to make their moves before he executed his own and continued backpeddling slightly. In his mind, he prayed to whatever gods or goddesses he worshipped once more, this time hoping another ally would join the fray and get him out of this mess. Preferably a White Mage or something like that- if he lost a limb he could at least reattach it then.
A faceless warrior. A soldier of fortune. He had travelled from Spira mainly based on the fact he and Adiona needed cash to continue the depths of the pilgrimidge, both sides were offeringly lots. However Midgar had offered the most for the service of freelancers. And had the largest army. So naturally Zero had decided that Midgar might have been a better choice, unfortunatly as things turned out in the begining he couldn't have been more wrong. The intial start to the fight had seen the leader of the opposing force unleash an incredible attack. Luckily the guardian had been far enough behind for the ranks in front to absorb the blast of the attack. This had continued until the leader of the Midgar forces had stepped in. Sephiroth. The silver haired warrior. And as word had it possibly the most powerful fighter on all of Gaia. There were mere skirmishes at the moment, the entire army wasn't moving. Most of both camps were held up at the bases. Midgar's had been at Kalm. And that night there had been a big party.
He remembered sitting there staring at the fire as the soldiers of Midgar danced and drank merrily. He had seen Sephiroth. The warrior was doing the same thing he was. Sitting down, and readying himself for the battle that was to come. Preemptive victory parties usually led to defeat. And the truth of that was seen now.Half the men on Midgars side were likely suffering from last nights hangover. Thinking that soldier and more advanced machina technology would win the battle for them. He knew that they did not know the sorceress herself and her knight would be leading these forces.
Otherwise he was sure that Midgar would have sent not only a much larger force of Soldier ( the elite unit of Midgar) but would have also drew in naval support from the local city of Junon to bombard the Galbadian forces from the back. Things began to mmove, Zero had heard about Sephiroth's power. But when he saw the man's slash cut a line directly through the oppositions army, he knew that all tales of power could not bare witness to the real thing. His unit began to move forwards, he was stationed with several other merenaries. Men of skill, but disposable none the less. For they held no loyalty to their employees. Only so much as the gold flowed as quickly as the blood. And Shinra certainly had a lot of wealth behind it.
He jumped into the battle, drawing his sword, flipping it reverse style and then unleashing a spinning slash, opening the throat of one of the Galbadian warriors. Arterial spray launched out like a fountain, covering all who stood. Turning his sword back up to vertical motions he kicked aside the useless corpse of the opponent and then stabbed out, impaling another Galbadian on the edge of his sword. From the corner of his eye he saw a blade strike out, his arm immediatly went up, his gauntlet absorbing the hit, moving down his arm towards his hand. He grapsed the blade in between the metal talons of the gauntlet claw, twisted the blade and with that the man let out a shriek of suprise and pain as the sword now moved into Zero's possession. However it didn't stay there for long. He caught the blade by the hilt and drove it down into his opponents knee cap. More screams. More blood.
With that Zero's eyes narrowed as he span, his sword sliced cleanly through skin, flesh, cartalidge and bone. Cleaving the head from the Galbadian soldier. He looked up at the clearing into the battle. Things were slowing down, the inital momentum that had carried them into the enemy ranks had began to fade as the Galbadians prepared a steel wall of defence. By the looks of things the members of the Soldier unit were split out, with the 3 elite members, the first class soldiers in the middle, by the looks of thing they were doing battle against the leadership of the Galbadian forces. That meant the sorceress. There were good and bad points to this. It meant both sides wouldn't be able to utilize their strongest forces.
So in the end it would come down to experience, numbers and all other conventinal tactics of warfare. The air was cut, and Zero only just managed to dodge a sword slash from a galbadian, he grunted drawing his sword back and ramming it through the soldiers chest, then kicking his useless body aside he proceeded to butcher more of the enemies troops who stood in his way. As his anger built, a crimson aura began to surround his gauntlet claw, he cut and cleaved. Impaled and sliced. His face dirtied and blooded gave him the appearance of a mad berserker. He drew back his claw. Straightening the talons, and then swiped it forwards horizontally. The end result was an arcing blade of energy that raced several ranks deep into the enmy forces. Cutting down bodies like a scythe through the harvest.
This in turn, created a gap, allowing the forces of Midgar to flood in slightly. The line breaking briefly. Zero's eyes turned to the centre of the field. He gritted his teeth and let out a war cry, rushing forward and then jumping into the air. He landed upon a machina weapon, one of Galbadia's He jammed his sword through a box at the top, which he took for a navigating piece. Whether this was correct or not didn't matter, within seconds, the buzz of electricity sounded and the machina went mad charging forwards through the forces towards the centre of the conflict.
He removed his sword after the machina had got close enough, this additional damage seemed to have done it as the thing crashed to the ground. Zero using the momentum seized the opertunity and jumped into the air, claw outstreched he smashed into the crowd, gripping around the sorceress knight's face knocking him to the ground and dragging him across the mud before flinging him forwards. He looked at the man, now closely. Purple skinned. He was clearly of demonic origins. Did that scare him? Not in the slightest. " Come on then...get up...I expect more than this!...".
OOC: Its ok dude, everyone is up for PVP combat when they enter this. Bel and Blue are just on that list because they're counted as bosses on the Galbadian side
[Ooc: Okay if its not too much trouble I would like to have Cloud fight Biggs and Sarutobi fight Wedge. Seeing as this is my first post for this thread I just want to make an impact.]
Upon seeing the demon general, Belzera Gimoire, getting his face smashed into the ground, Vale decided it might be a good idea to retreat to his fallen commanding officer and help him out. So- he turned on his heel and almost ran away. Almost.
He remembered the Sorceress he had just ran over and turned back to her. She may be incredibly strong, of that there was no doubt, but there was no way in the Nine Hells she could ever fight off all three ShinRa Elite SOLDIERS. And Vale kind of owed her for bowling her over- so he left Belzera to his own fate, a decision he did not make lightly.
In the process of watching Belzera get pummeled into the ground a fair distance away, Vale had managed to lose concentration with his spell. While this wouldn't normally be too much of a problem, Vale WAS facing three uber powerful men with only one uber powerful woman to back him up. And Vale didn't even consider himself slightly powerful in comparison to the four greats in his presence. Nevertheless, he still held his ground and began to recast his spell. He tried to make himself appear more menacing- casting off his cloak to reveal his wings and mixing the runes of his Thunder spell with his Flare spell to make it appear as if it were a more powerful attack than it was. He even managed to deepen his voice and sound slightly nefarious and powerful, despite his inward worries. Hell, he had even managed to make the air before him ripple slightly (think Dragon Ball Z). All in all, Vale appeared as if he were an entirely different person than he actually was.
"So... is there a plan or do we just blast the hell out of them?" he whispered to the Sorceress as he continued to cast.
Belzera didn't flinch under Zero's assault upon him, although he did sigh heavily at the fact that someone just had to interrupt him just before he got into a fight with Sephiroth, and he pulled himself up slowly to his feet and then looked the man over slowly, recognizing the fool instantly and then sighing before raising his palm up calmly and closing his eyes slowly as a purple mist appears behind him.
"You know Zero, I can tell your not from the old world, I can tell you don't know me that much, but let me tell you something I know at least ninety percent of what you were capable of and lets just say right now you don't match up to the undead Spira hating monster you became after Spira betrayed you, and more to say someone who I respected a great deal even if you where dead, so either get the hell out of my way or help me for a handsome price."
The Purple mist then, without the demon really waiting to hear for an answer from this alternate Zero, on the mark of his words flashed into multiple copies of the same shape, which was easily recognizable as each was exactly like his strange long and purple tinted key like blade that he held in his hand, Belzera's eyes also seemed to show determination strong enough to fight the seasons themselves and then the Demon Barrage fired towards its target, Zero, the air exploded just as the keyblades where fired and Belzera leapt into the air backwards flapping his wings gracefully and rolling over onto his front and then flipping over Zero as the Keyblades went for him, their sonic booms would at least prevent him from stopping Belzera's 'retreat' as it seems, but that was only because he had a different target to follow. His eyes darted about the battlefield, the Galbadian forces where slowly holding their own he could tell, there! he thought as he saw Sephiroth slowly walking towards the combat his sword having caused alot of damage to Belzera's side however Belzera wasn't deterred and with a single flap of his wings he fired himself past the Elite SOLDIER, the elites of the elites in fact, or at least in the old Gaia that was true. Belzera corkscrewed and then rolled in the air before standing infront of the Legendary SOLDIER with Adonis pointed straight at the mans throat. Belzera breathes in deeply, his grip slowly tightens upon Adonis, upon his very soul as he looks deep into the man's eyes, he could see the seed of curiosity that he had instilled into the man and smirked to himself before he gives Sephiroth a very eccentric bow while keeping Adonis pointed straight at the walking SOLDIER.
"I'm sorry but I'm afraid you'll not be going any further without first besting me right here and right now."
A Purple mist formed around the Demon as he rose from his bow, it was safe to say that Sephiroth would see the determination within the Demon's eyes and such a legendary figure could see into the truth of alot of Belzera's mannerisms and see that this Demon was someone who had survived harsh trails and knew every inch of his body as no movement was rarely a wasteful move, everything had a purpose and the fact that Belzera didn't give off any signs of fear or show that Belzera infact cared about his opponents reputation. Belzera smiles as Sephiroth stops infront of him, he gives of a faint laugh before he steps forward, it was a light step and his next one saw Belzera jump slightly into the air as ten blades formed in the air behind him. Belzera twisted and pushed himself backwards slightly in the air as the Keyblades where fired towards their target, aiming for the limbs once again in order to paralyze and cripple, again the air exploded as they fired, they quickly broke the sound barrier as they moved towards the Legendary warrior, but Belzera wasn't even started yet and as he spun in the air his empty hand was open, palm outstretched towards Sephiroth. The Demon aimed and another flash emerged from his palm as he loosed another Hecto-flare at the warrior just below him, to be precise it was aimed at where Sephiroths head would be before the sonic boom hits, so even if Sephiroth is knocked back the flare would still hit apart of his body with the split second difference between the two attacks, yet this still wasn't enough for the demo as his pushed himself forwards towards the Legendary warrior, his free hand now gripping the hilt of Adonis as he follows in the slipstream of his own barrage, behind him once again form more blades, however there where more of them this time as he prepped them his eyes fixated upon the legendary warrior.
"Lets see if you can start defending yourself yet"
He whispered as he swung Adonis down across where Sephiroth was as the Barrage behind him was loosed upon Sephiroth, this blades didn't break the sound barrier but the distance between them and Sephiroth combined with the fact that Belzera hadn't relented in his attacks yet meant that there full force would be something the Legendary SOLDIER would need to withstand and Belzera also started talking.
"Most people fear you because of the rumors of your skill and feats, yet I cannot bing myself to fear you after knowing what you are 'son of the calamity from the skies' to know that all you are is much like hmm, what where the names in those files Genesis was it? A Child that some shin-ra scientist messed with for his own silly greed"
Belzera's left foot touched the ground and he smirks before he flips backwards, his right foot flying up at where Sephiroth's body should be, then Belzera twisted in the air with a handy nudge from his wings and brought his left foot around in an Attempt to smash Sephiroth into the mass of SOLDIER's that surrounded them and Belzera kept on talking.
"Most people would fear you if you knew the truth you know, after all I'm aware of what would happen if you did find out who your mother was and I'm sure Kigal might be interested too seeing as he is one of the few remaining ancients"
Belzera smiles and lands holding Adonis in a defensive position as his eyes dart around to look for Sephiroth since he hadn't been paying full attention to whether his barrage of attacks actually hit the Legendary SOLDIER.
"You'd be surprised at what gets left unguarded after certain Events happen and what you could learn if you just spent time looking, hell I know Rufus kept a very detailed log about you as did Hojo the greedy fool"
Belzera grinned faintly waiting for Sephiroths next attack as he kept on talking, and the words that came from Belzera's mouth didn't all sound insincere, infact alot of them where perfectly formed in the demons mind.
"I wonder is he still working for Shin-Ra in this world? cos I'm not completely sure since in this world you didn't find out the truth in Nibelheim, which is also the reason I guess that the Nobody still has the blade I guess and why you weren't killed in Nibelheim by that useless fool Cloud, hmm there is so much about this world thats different"
Belzera smirked again and looked up at the sky faintly, his ears listening for any signs of Sephiroths counter attack that he knew was coming for him.
"Although I doubt Kigal has changed that much, he was always the good spy, ever since he lost his wife because of Shin-Ra, I wonder if that happened here too, heh couldn't tell from our little meeting. although that Nobody, now I'm sure he is a good SOLDIER Elite but the fact that I don't know of him means he was most likely involved with you in Nibelheim too, so I guess you must of killed him after finding out the truth. Oh dear"
Belzera smirked again before grinning widely.
"I could just tell you what I know about the truth of your birth, after all I'm sure JENOVA would thank me for releasing her Son and I guess Hojo would too, but then again I never cared for the fool, ah but Kefka on the other hand,"
Belzera pointed up into the air slightly smiling faintly at the memory of the crazy clown.
"There was a crazy bastard I could like AND Respect, that little clown was creepy, even for me but he had goals and ideals that any self respecting demon could love."

Cloud had been observing the whole escapade spiral out of control since the start. He had been talking to a couple of the third class SOLDIER that had been assigned to check out the marshlands. Things had only got worse from there. Every day the young grunt had heard more and more confirmed cases of injured Shinra members.
Galabadia was indeed a strong military force, but in all truth Cloud didn't really support either side. It seemed that both leaders were incredibly selfish and greedy people. President Shinra was probably the perfect example of a man driven by greed and ignorance.
The sorceress on the other hand was just a tyrannical ruler with an obvious bloodlust for Shinra. In Clouds opinion he was just choosing the lesser of two evils..not that it made him feel any better about what he was doing.
Cloud had been talking to Zack previously, the black haired SOLDIER had informed him on all the orders that the various ranks of SOLDIER had been given. Apparently a lot of the first class soldiers had been asked to take part in the mission. For some reason Zack had been ordered that a lot of the info he had been given was strictly confidential.
The blonde haired grunt wondered just how far Galabadia were willing to go to reach there ambitions, it scared him a little to think just how many people might get killed in the process.
'I don't even know why I'm here...who can I save..I can't even save myself.'
These were the kind of thoughts running through the young mans mind at the time, his bright blue eyes reflected the last rays of the sunlight as he pushed him self away from the wall he had been leaning on for some time now.
He had been told to simply keep an eye out for any would-be criminals that might be trying to take advantage of the chaos. So far no citizens had attempted any burglaries or anything of that nature. He had been assigned this mission with one other grunt, who had taken it upon himself to have a nap.
"Typical."
Cloud slowly took his helmet off, he began to wonder just what he was fighting for. He felt as though he had no real purpose in this world anymore. He was with such a corrupted group of people that it seemed like he was more of a terrorist than Galabadia. At least Zack was out playing the hero and saving lives, what was he doing? watching a street for petty theft...
It was then that the young grunt received an urgent transmission over the radio, he was hearing numerous, scrambled radio frequencies requesting backup from a...demon?
"I knew they're leader was a sorceress...but demons?"
Cloud stopped his muttering, he shouldn't have been surprised. Cloud quickly placed his helmet back upon his head, with that, he ran straight for the area of the commotion. Cloud didn't look back once, sure he was disobeying orders but he would rather be fired than be the reason for potential deaths. He had to at least try.
A few minutes later and Cloud was there, the sight that greeted him was a shocking one. Literally, there were piles of grunts and what appeared to be third class soldiers lying there. Cloud wondered what possibly could have committed such an atrocious act, it was then that he saw him. The hulking figure of an inhumanly tall man, he had a strange complexion, like no human the young grunt had ever seen.
His blue eyes stared at the huge wings that were attached to the creatures back, it reminded him of the young Lucavi he had met at the train station. This man however, looked a lot stronger. The look within his eyes spoke of hundreds of battles, when he looked at him it reminded him of the feeling he got when he stared at the likes of Angeal.
"Who the hell is that..?"
A SOLDIER had overheard Clouds mutterings, for some reason he felt implied to inform the blonde haired young man.
"From what I've been told, his name is Belzera. A lot of the troops have been calling him 'The sorceresses knight. Hes been plowing through out troops."
Cloud nodded and stared at the first class SOLDIERS that had been sent to deal with the situation. Zack was there, Cloud wanted to talk to him, but now was hardly the best of times. A young man called Kigal also appeared to be present, Cloud had heard some truly impressive stories about this man. Although he had never personally met him, he hadn't imagined he would look quite the way he did.
Then there was him, Sephiroth. Cloud gulped just by looking at him. The sheer look of power that he gave of was truly intimidating, he had been Clouds reason for joining Shinra, and it was no wonder. Numerous other troops simply stood there staring at him. He was truly a living legend.
Cloud tore his gaze away from the silver haired swordsmen, he needed to try and make a difference and fast. Cloud began to try and formulate a plan, he wasn't quite sure what he was going to do, but he was going to do it now. Cloud pondered for a moment, it was then that inspiration struck the young troop.
It was a brash move, but someone needed to set the plan into action. He was sure there was a possibility that some Shinra tactician had already been planning this, but Cloud couldn't afford to waste the time consulting.
Cloud addressed the SOLDIER which had informed him on the current situation once more.
"Hey, are there any grunts posted near the entrance to Kalm?"
"Yeah sure, there just keepin' an eye out for any Galabadian troops trying to get in. How come ya ask?"
"Sorry, no time to explain!"
Cloud immediately broke into a run, he knew what he had to do. With great haste, the young lackey ran past the ferocious battle of warriors to make his way to the entrance of Kalm. It wasn't long before he found the troops stationed there.
"Hey if it isn't little Cloud."
The grunts looked at him, most of them just ignored him upon his entrance, a couple of them where on good terms with the guy. These were the ones that listened to him.
"Okay, this is going to seem like a pretty sudden decision, but I've just been ordered by Vice president Rufus to take a squadron of grunts out to the area surrounding the marshlands. There's a chance we can push them back into the marshlands, and you all know whats there. Only problem is, they've got a couple of strong Galabadian officials posted there. So, my plan is take these guys and there troops out. Then we can proceed to call for backup and push them back!"
During his little speech, the other grunts has began to listen, most of them seemed to buy it. However, there appeared to be a couple who found the whole 'ordered by Rufus' scenario a little unlikely.
"How do we know your not lying?"
Cloud looked at the grunt who had spoken, Cloud was lying through his teeth. The plan was also bordering on suicidal, but he had to try this. He was tired of being a nobody. Cloud cleared his throat and addressed the grunt calmly.
"Why would I lie about something like this..do you honestly believe I would to run into enemy lines with only a handful of men?..before you answer it, that was a rhetorical question."
The men scratched there heads for awhile, but it appeared that they had brought Clouds little plan.
"Okay okay blondey, we can take the truck."
Cloud removed his helmet, things were going according to plan.
The group of grunts piled into the back of the truck, in total there were sixteen of them excluding Cloud. They weren't all that strong, but they were handy with a rifle. Including Cloud, a couple of of them had experience handling materia.
Within minutes, Cloud and the squadron were speeding through the Midgar planes, they were rapidly approaching the destination Cloud had spoke of. In the next five minutes, they would reach the Galabadian outpost near the swamps.
Cloud sat in the back of the truck, he had remained in silence for the whole journey, quietly in thought.
"Whats the matter blondey? startin to feel nervous?"
"No."
A couple of grunts laughed, even if Cloud had planned this situation, he was still far from the brave commander, more like a messenger boy.
The wheels of the truck screeched loudly to a stop, Cloud let out a calm exhale of air. Clearing his mind of doubts, he picked up his gun and hopped out of the back of the truck. The troops all began to load there guns and check there materia, Cloud had done this minutes ago.
"Okay heres the plan-"
"Hey blondey, just cus we signed up for this little mission, that don't make you our leader."
"I know but-"
"Now shaddup, heres what we're gonna do.."
Cloud looked to the floor, the man began to gesture loudly and try to tell the troops whats to do. The two grunts who knew Cloud a little better spoke up instantly.
"Hey, meat head."
The man speaking stopped, looking to the two slightly angry looking grunts he would give them his attention.
"What?"
"If anyones gonna give us a battle plan, its Cloud. He was the one who risked his neck to get this message to us. He was the one who suggested we take this route and he was the one who is gonna give us the battle plan."
The rest of the troops nodded in agreement. Cloud rubbed the back of his head, feeling a little embarrassed. Maintaining a calm look, Cloud began to speak once more.
"Okay, from what surveillance has been able to tell me, the camp up ahead is split into one main tent, for the commander and tacticians. There are twelve separate, smaller tents for soldier supplies. There are a number of Galabadian trucks stationed here as well. The trucks are parked at one end of the camp, the main tent at the other. Intel has told me that there has been no sign of the sorceress yet, however due to the fact that Belzera and his accomplice are currently in Kalm..that leaves only two higher-ups to contend with. In terms of troop to troop strength, I would saw that each of us has more than enough potential to take a on the majority of the ground troops posted here. "
Cloud closed his eyes for a momentarily, mainly to choose his words, he would speak up.
"Theres only one problem I can see, with the likes of the commander, they will have been given a much greater level of combat training than any of us. This is why group tactics are needed, if my calculations are anything to go by, the commander will be in the main tent. There will be a much larger number of troops posted by the trucks and small tents."
The grunts nodded, each one hanging to Clouds words."
"This is what I propose, we will split into two teams of eight."
Cloud quickly went about picking seven men to stand by him.
"e will attempt to breech the main tent from behind, by making our way around the camp on foot, we can attempt to take out the commander and whatever troops have accompanied him. Whilst we do this, the other group will take the truck and barrel roll it into the group of trucks parked. The ensuing explosion will cause a great number of injuries in there numbers. This team will then clear up any remaining troops, once done, they will meet up with my team once more."
"What if the commander is among st the trucks ant tents?"
"If that is the case, then I will need you to radio me, or one of my team to inform me of this situation. We will then proceed to try and overwhelm them with large magic based assault..I am correct in assuming each one of you has at least a basic first level materia, right?"
Each one of them nodded, it appeared that the young Cloud Strife was showing his true colors now. The men all appeared rather shocked at this sudden change of character, regardless of this, Cloud still had the same calm and slightly cold way of speaking to his men.
"Any further questions?"
The troops remained silent.
"Okay then...move out!"
With this, Clouds group broke into a run heading for the fields to the side of the camp. The second group hopped back into the truck. Each one of them appeared very much ready to fulfill there individual roles. The grunt driving cracked his knuckles, with a cocky smirk he would start the truck.
"Ready boys!?"
A chorus of 'yeahs!' roared from the truck, the large vehicle stormed across the field in seconds. A Galabadian soldier turned his head to see the truck speeding towards the camp."
"Its the ene-"
The shinra grunts lept from the truck at the last second, in a huge explosion of fire and smoke the Galabadians screamed. It had begun.
Meanwhile, Clouds group had made god time in heading around the camp. It would only be a couple more minutes until the reached the back of the main tent. Clouds spiky blonde hair blew wildly in the wind as he ran towards his destination.
The flames of the destroyed truck quickly spread, about half of the smaller tents had been engulfed in the flames from the shinra truck. The three Galabadian trucks had been knocked onto there side and burst into flames upon impact. All that remained now was a heap of flaming metal garbage. A large number of Galabadians had been either killed or heavily injured during the incident.
The shinra troops rushed in, as soon as they held there guns ready to they saw it. From each of the six remaining tents emerged about five troops. They had taken as much ammunition from the tents as they could, in total, there were about thirty of them. That was about triple the number of grunts.
"Give em hell boys!"
The shinra grunts stood in line and let off a barrage of bullets, each one aimed at a small huddle of Galabadian soldiers. The soldiers grunted in pain as there bodies became riddled with bullets. The remaining troops dived for cover, the remaining tents had been engulfed in flames now, the only ammunitions and health equipment were what the Galabadians had on them now.
The main tent was safe..for now.
The soldiers seemed to try to engage the troops in flanks, a group of say five to a wave of Galabadian soldiers would attempt to get close enough to take the grunts out. Each one carrying a crude, rather undeveloped sword with them. The grunts split up, eight in total, each one took a different position, raising there assault rifles, they would let off a barrage of shots each time. Never staying still for too long.
Within minutes, the group of eight had endured close to no injuries. It was now a eight on ten brawl. The eight grunts hid behind the remains of an already exploded truck, low on ammo and stamina.
"We can't keep this up guys..they had a hell of a lot more ammo than us in the first place.. not to mention theres more of em."
Each one of them looked at one another, within seconds they charged out, what greeted them was three large silver disks under there own feet. Land mines.
"Cover!"
Five troops made it to safety, unfortunately three were blown to pieces. The ten remaining Galabadian troops made there way into view now, confident that this little scuffle was over. The main problem was, amongst the typical blue and silver uniforms, was the hulking figure of a man dressed in a red uniform, his arms as toned as any mans could be. Wearing his gun-arm attachment with pride, he was commander Biggs. He was the reason that victory was within grasp for these men.
The five remaining shinra grunts looked on in shock. One man attempted to reach for his radio, a barrage of bullets ripped his radio and waist apart, only four remained now..
Cloud and his team stood no more than ten meters from the back of the tent, Cloud made a quick hand gesture. With no more than a seconds pause, two of his men stood in front of the tent, each of there gloves began to glow. A ball of fire erupted from each of the mens hands. The main tent was set ablaze instantly.
"Now!"
Cloud and his men burst through there materia keeping the tent up, letting off a spray of fire straight away. About half the men in the tent were gun down instantly.
It appeared Clouds plan had been a success, as he began to see victory however, he heard the tortured cries of the other half of his squad. He heard gunshots and fire blazing, but it appeared when ever someone tried to radio for help, they were gunned down.
"Shit."
As Cloud listened to his radio, he failed to notice eight sword wielding Galabadian soldiers remained, they were charging straight for his group. In such a small area they had a slight disadvantage, Clouds troops let fire immediately. All but one of them fell, a man who had been charging in behind the seven others sprung forwards. As he landed in front of Cloud and the others, he would quickly and accurately slice in a series of arcs at the grunts. Within seconds, there was only one man left standing with Cloud.
"Your no normal soldier.."
"Thats right, names Wedge, and after what you just done. I better get paid double for this."
Cloud knew he was in trouble now, by now the team that was supposed to take the trucks out was probably dead, the only upside was that about 90% of the Galabadian troops were now dead. However, Biggs and Wedge still remained.
Cloud rolled to the side, looking up in horror he would see the one remaining troop impaled instantly.
"B..Blondey."
With a cough of blood the man died, Cloud looked on, enraged. Cloud would quickly grab his assault rifle in two hands, within seconds he had dived out of the now flaming tent, the scene that greeted his eyes was shocking. He could see the remains of the trucks, and a single man, Commander Biggs. It appeared his men had taken out the last of the troops...the only problem being that they had left Cloud to deal with Biggs and Wedge alone.
Biggs laughed.
"You dead meat boy, you really think one grunt can take out the two of us..me and Wedge here are a deadly team."
Wedge walked out of the remains of the main tent grinning.
"Thats right, you better believe me and the Commander aren't gonna get revenge for your little stunt. Shinras as good as done for, the sorceress is gonna rule this continent!"
"I couldn't give a damn about your sorceress or Shinra..all I know..is that somehow, I'm gonna take you both down."
Clouds calm expression remained, however, it was more of a bluff now.
Elsewhere...
The lone figure of a young man headed forwards the flaming wreck of the Galabadian camp. This came as a great suprise to him.
"Well well..seems like someone beat me to it."
This man was the samurai for hire, Sarutobi Asakura. He was a ronin, a man who for the right price, could be hired for by anyone. Even the corrupt group that forced him from his own homeland. Sarutobi contemplated his situation to himself as he headed for the campsite. He had been forced out of Wutai because of the growing conflict between them and Shinra, yet here he was, fighting for the very group he so hated.
He had been ordered by some guy called Kigal to take out the small intel camp on the borders of the swamplands. However, he had now encountered a problem. His job was being taken care of by someone else. He had a quite a bit of info on his targets though, as well as the Galabadian dunderheads that awaited him there, he also had Biggs and Wedge there.
He had heard stories of these two, nothing impressive, other than a couple of Galabadian goons with slightly above average fighting strength. However, they made a formidable team.
Saru touched the tip of the hilt of one of the two blades kept in the specialized single sheath. His duel blades, Kage and Mizu had been itching for a good fight for awhile now. In other words, Saru was growing impatient.
Sarutobi pushed a little of his hair from his face, the smell of the smock traveling from the campsite was growing thicker now, he was getting a lot closer. The campsite was in plain view, one question kept rolling through the young samurais mind however, just who set fire to this place anyway? Was it SeeD? A rebel faction from Midgar? There were too many possibilities right now, Saru would just have to judge with his own eyes.
Cloud flew backward as the heavy metal arm of Biggs smashed into his chest. Cloud coughed up a little blood as he hit the floor metres away from where he had been standing originally. Flames had engulfed the entire area now, all entrances and exits had been blocked off.
Cloud attempted to stand up, noticing the ammunition wheel on Biggs arm begin to spin, rolling to his side, the blonde haired grunt would life his arm to release a ball of fire. The spell would be slightly off course, however, the flame would blind Biggs view for a few seconds.
Cloud lept to his feet quickly, Wedge charged in swinging his sword with deadly accuracy, Cloud ducked down quickly and slammed the butt of his rifle into Wedges side. The resulting blow would wing Wedge momentarily. Cloud quickly rolled backwards, with this he would let off the last of the ammo in the clip he was using. The bullets would head straight for Wedge, however as the dust settled, a large magical shield covered the man in blue. He had cast a protect spell at the last moment.
"Damn it..I didn't expect that one."
"Of course you didn't, your nothing but the bottom of the barrel scum that Shinra has sent to dispose of us...ou severely underestimated us boy, did you really think a handful of grunts could take on a camp full of soldiers and a commander?!"
Biggs started to laugh, Wedge made an annoying cackle in a lame attempt to mimic his commanders cruel words. Cloud gritted his teeth, this wasn't good, he had very little ammo left. He had used most of the juice in his materia..as well as that he was pretty badly injured..was this it?
"See you in hell shinra scum!"
Biggs would raise his gun to shoot, as he did this a roar of flames from behind Cloud caught everyones attention, the flames had actually been split in two for a moment. During this time, the figure of a lone swordsmen had walked through the flames.
"Oh...oh my god commander Biggs..th..THEY SENT SEPHIROTH!!"
"Not quite."
The black haired swordsmen stepped in front of Cloud and pushed a little black hair form his own eyes.
"Well how about that...here I was wondering just who it was that had caused this little Galabadia sabotage..and it was a lowly employee of Shinra. Well I tell ya what, I'm impressed."
Biggs and Wedge looked on with confused expressions upon their helmet covered faces. This man wore neither the uniform of Galabadia, Shinra or even AVALANCHE.
"Your from SeeD aren't you!! you dirty mercenary bastards!"
"Hardly."
Sarutobi smirked. Looking at Biggs and Wedge, he would keep one hand loosely on the hilt of a single blade.
"Where I'm from..is neither of your business. Know this though..the last thing you see..will be the tip of my blades."
The two men smirked, Wedge raised his blade standing in battle position. Biggs steadying the aim of his gun arm with his other hand. Meanwhile the flames had grown to enormous levels, both sides only had a handful of minutes.
Cloud looked at the man, standing to his feet, he would quickly load his final clip. Keeping his eyes on the enemy, he would address the mysterious samurai once more.
"Just before we do this..mind telling me who you are?"
"I'll explain later."
Sarutobi rushed forwards, the sheer speed of the man was unbelievable. Biggs gasped as Saru practically disappeared before his eyes. Looking up the figure of Saru would come falling towards the ground. Holding a blade in each hand, he had somehow unsheathed his weapons and was heading straight for the commander..all in the space of seconds.
As the commander appeared to be distracted, Cloud took this opportunity. Diving to his left, Cloud would steady his aim with the utmost care. Cloud pulled the trigger, within a split second Wedges arm began to spray with blood, Clouds careful aiming had disarmed him. Seizing the advantage Cloud dropped his gun and ran forwards, tackling the man to the floor he would bring his fist back. Wedge attempted to stop him, but by the time he had raised his own arm, Cloud had already punched him in the mouth and jaw numerous times. The blonde mercenary may not have had access to his whole face, due to his helmet, but with enough force and punches he had managed to knock out the mans bottom row of teeth.
Cloud stood up, Wedge now appeared to be unconscious, Cloud shook his hand a little. The force of his punches had probably sprained his hand..totally worth it though.
Meanwhile, Sarutobi had landed from his aerial strike, faking a direct head cut he had ducked down. Biggs swung his gigantic metal arm forwards, attempting to club the samurai. Sarutobi quickly raised one of his blades, keeping the large arm at bay. Without so much as a split second of hesitation he used his other sword to quickly cut into the torso and chest of the commander. The man grunted in pain and moved back, blood trickled down his red uniform, quickly blending into the color of it.
"Just die!!"
Biggs let off a barrage of bullets at the man, as he did this, a fireball from behind Saru would hit the man square in the helmet. The resulting magic attack blinded him temporarily, if only for a couple of seconds.
Sarutobi had been waiting for this, throwing of one of blades forwards, Saru would burst forwards with incredible speed, kicking off of his own blade he would land directly in front of his enemy. Twisting on the spot where he stood, he would the open palm of his un armed hand not the stomach of his enemy.
"Soul threat!"
A purple surge of enemy would erupt quickly, the resulting surge would send Biggs flying backwards, it didn't look as though he had actually sustained any real wounds.
"What just happened..?"
Cloud asked this with sincere curiosity, it was indeed a strange site. Whilst it seemed that Biggs had also been knocked unconscious, from looks of it, by taking Sarus special technique directly..he didn't actually look like he had taken any physical damage.
"That technique is called Soul Threat, whilst there is no exterior damage..it does deal a lethal amount of damage internally.."
Cloud simply nodded at the mans words.
"Look we need to get out of here..do you have a radio?"
Cloud nodded, both the men quickly proceeded to dive out of the fire covering there faces. Once both men were away from the fire, Cloud began to speak into his radio.
"This is Cloud Strife, requesting backup..repeat.Requesting backup."
Sarutobi stood there watching the blonde grunt, as Cloud finished his message he would speak up.
"What exactly did you think you were going to accomplish. Because of you, fifteen men are dead, I'll admit because of you about thirty to forty Galabadian soldiers had been defeated plus Biggs and Wedge are probably going to be consumed by that fire."
As Sarutobi finished his sentence, the roar of a Galabadian chopper was followed by the chopper itself speeding off towards the main Galabadian base of operations.
"Seems like they're aren't dead after all...pity."
Cloud sighed, he realised he was going to get a lot of grief for this. He wondered what Zack would think of him though, after all Cloud had never done anything this extreme before in his life.
Sarutobi pushed a little hair back and looked into the distance, towards Kalm.
"Well we've got a few minutes before your reinforcements arrive, so I might as well tell you who I am. The names Sarutobi Asakura, I'm a hired sword of Shinras. Don't get me wrong though, I'll take any job for the right price. In all honesty, I hate Shinra and all they stand for, can't say I'm too fond of Galabadia either though.."
Saru smirked a little, Cloud had been listening but his mind was else where. He wondered what Biggs would say once he got back to the main base, he wondered how Galabadia would retaliate...would they send Belzera? What would happen, it was indeed a mystery. For now all the blonde haired grunt could do was hope for the best.

[Biggs and Wedge DEFEATED. Biggs= 3000 words, Wedge= 2000 words.]
The ability to fly is an amazing thing. Flight instills fear in those who cannot fly, that was apparent by the troops reaction to the appearance of the great purple demon. Though the ability to fly didn't increase your offensive ability. The demon's flying sword attack would have been just as effective if he had launched it from the ground. The only advantage that flight gave was a clear view of the battlefield, and honestly, can one really say that that is an advantage? One should be focused on one's own fight, not the fight of the people near by. But for some reason, seeing something dangerous looming over you always gets people's hearts racing.
That is why a helicopters are so useful. It has nothing to do with their effectiveness. It is merely because a fleet of helicopters is an intimidating sight. There was a V shaped formation of the machines flying low over the battle field, and behind the wall of helicopters was another helicopter. Obviously the original formation was there for defensive reasons. Why? Because that particular helicopter held a rather important passenger. The helicopter was filled with people in suits. The pilot was a man with red hair pulled into a loose pony-tail, odd tattoos on his cheeks...and a blue suit. The copilot was a muscular man with a shaved head and overly dark sunglasses...and a blue suit. The man sitting behind the two had shorter dark hair pulled into a neat and tidy pony-tail...and a blue suit. The woman seated near the back of the vehicle, with on hand braced against the wall and the other over her stomach, at the moment she looked rather pale, she had chin-length blond hair...and a blue suit. Then there was another man, leaning against the wall of the craft, his arms crossed, his hair thick and black, a unique-looking gun strapped to his thigh...and a blue suit. And finally there, standing in the center of the small crowd, tall and amazingly steady in the jostling aircraft, was a sixth person, a man with short blond hair a stern look...and a white suit.
The man in white was Rufus Shinra. He was Vice President of the ShinRa Corporation, and thus he was the second most powerful man on the continent, or at least that's what he liked to think. Now he was just making a scanning run over the field. Using the only true advantage that flight gave them, Rufus was taking in the entire battle field so that he may better strategically place his reinforcements. He looked around at his reinforcements, the other people on the helicopter. The Turks. "Some reinforcements," He thought to himself. The turks weren't intended to go to war. They were masters of espionage, and while they were given training similar to a SOLDIER's, they still didn't hold the same level of skill and ability on the battle field. But what other options did they have? All of their SOLDIER members were either on the battle field already or out of contact. The Turks were their last available fighters, and even if they couldn't match a SOLDIER's skill, they were a hell of a lot better than most ground troops.
They were approaching the front lines. Rufus turned and walked across the uneven floor of the vehicle to the door. He opened it wide and looked out at the chaos bellow. There was fierce movements and gunshots everywhere. And just off of the front lines, slightly cut off from the rest of the battle, there was a showdown. There was the leader of the Galbadians, the most powerful foe on the enemy side, the Sorceress, facing off against three SOLDIER members. And not just any three SOLDIER members; Sephiroth was down there. The strongest member of the Galbadian side was fighting the strongest member of the Midgar side.
Rufus didn't want to get in the way, especially not in a conflict that was this pivotal in the battle, but that little opening was the only place that the helicopter could land...without crushing anyone underneath it anyway. And so that is what they did. The helicopter came in for a landing. There was some really generic words shared by the Turks; "Be careful", "Keep your eyes peeled and your finger on the trigger", "come back alive", useless sentiments if you asked Rufus. Finally the aircraft landed and immediately the Turks flew out the open doors, silently dashing off in all directions to join their own battles. "The Calvary has arrived!" Shouted the eccentric red-haired pilot. Rufus rolled his eyes, before jumping out of the vehicle himself, his shotgun slung over his shoulder. "Calvary indeed. Still," He thought, "you can't beat that bad ass entrance."
He glanced around, and his eyes found his first target. A young demon boy had appeared to aid the Galbadian Sorceress. The demon looked vaguely familiar, but that was of little concern to Rufus, all that mattered to him was that this lad was attempting to help his enemy, and the friend of his enemy was his enemy. Period.
Upon seeing the formation of helicopters followed by the appearance of the men (and one woman) in dark blue suits followed by the appearance of the man in the white suit behind the three elite soldiers; Vale had only one thing to say.
"Sunnova fuck..."
There wasn't any possible way to defeat all of the men at once- two against three was bad enough. Two against somewhere around ten was simply completely impossible- no matter how you looked at it. So- he did what he figured was best: grabbed the sorceress (rather unceremoniously at that- he carried her bridal style) and ran the other direction. If he weren't a Lucavi, he'd have been lucky if he kept the action up for more than a minute, however he had demonic strength on his side. Not to mention wings.
Once he was a decent distance away he leapt into the air and began to fly back towards the Galbadian base if for nothing else than another minute to live and a couple of reinforcements. No doubt the Sorceress was beyond pissed at him now, but Vale was beyond caring, personally. He glanced behind him at the men who were, no doubt following him and thanked the gods (again) that they had met some resistance.
Once he reached Chocobo Farm he promptly dropped the Sorceress onto the ground and collapsed himself. Despite her slim frame she was actually quite heavy- a fact that Vale would never ever say aloud since she could burn him to a cinder if she so wished. So- instead of complaining, Vale lay on the ground heaving and trying to think of what exactly to do next.

((Sorry for running, Xeko- but the odds were insanely against us. Next post I'll be sure to bother you again.))
With those imbeciles fighting amongst themselves it was the most opportune chance. Or at least, that was what the machina clad warrior thought as he sat atop his mighty steam billowing steed.
Metallic hues glittered with a horrifying excitement, one could call it as predatory. A gauntlet clawed digit carelessly brushed aside a strand of fiery orange and the wicked smile adorned on his face widened to frightening proportions.
They scurried like ants, these idiots fighting for a worthless cause. They were too caught in their own madness to know a greater threat was slowly encroaching around them. Simply delicious...
"Um...Leader?"
Eyes of liquid steel shot below to the left. A scrawny excuse of a soldier squirmed under the vicious gaze, stuttering silently. He swallowed, feeling his face burn with embarrassment for his cowardice, then spoke up.
"As instructed our troops have been spread throughout the city, and we have reports that our covert group is ready." He swallowed again. "All we need is the word sir..."
Looking down silently at the man, the Leaders strong face was overtaken with thought. His brows furrowed in a contemplating expression, as if remembering something he had long forgotten. Immobile all the foot soldier could so was stare. He jumped once his Leader broke from his trance and slammed his machina fist on his machine.
"Where is Darmer?" He questioned, expecting immediate response. "Is he still in the city?"
The soldier shook his head then gestured to his right at the distant encampment they had stationed. "He returned not too long ago," he informed. "And he brought someone back with him. He said she's Al-Bhed, but she's not one of our enlisted members. A straggler most likely."
The leader tilted his head bringing his fleshed hand up to stroke his stubble of a beard, eyes lit with intrigue. "Is that so... Tell him to bring her here." His word was absolute, and without a word the soldier stumbled off to retrieve that prized Alchemist.
Within minutes a familiar stalk of onyx locks peek above his line of sight followed by a pair of thick goggled cradling his cranium. There was a strained look on the man's face and the Leader soon saw why.
In his grasp was a rather feisty female attempting to wrench her arms free from his vice-like grasp. Orange tinted glasses nearly flew off her face from how wild and sharp she whipped her head around, voice escalating from the outrage of her capture.
"Let me go right now!!! Fucking release me!!!" Her leg reared back like a defiant horse and struck true to the Alchemist's groin. But he didn't falter. Despite the surge of pain in his crotch he held her fast and if anything, ushered her faster to the awaiting Leader.
Eyes ablaze with pain and anger, he threw the wild woman to the titan of a man as he descended from his machina. The slender female saw her chance for escape and took it, quickly gaining her footing and nearly lept clear away from the either male. But she wasn't fast enough.
A steel grip latched onto her shoulder and held her still. A Swift kick to her back legs knocked her to her knees. Seething pain shot through her knee-caps, and all she could do was gasp with pain, eyes slightly stinging.
And eerie chuckle sounded behind her, causing the rowdy woman to meet the gaze of this flame headed male. She snarled as he continued to laugh, and soon the Alchemist followed suit.
"Where did you find this one Darmer?" The leader roughly pat the woman on the head, his hand nearly enveloping her entire head. She continued to silently seethe.
The Alchemist ceased his revenge laughter and straightened himself before replying. "She was near the train station, sir. I found her yelling at something before she tried to make away. She didn't speak Terran so it was a dead give-away she wasn't supposed to be there." He glanced at the woman and smirked. Her own stupidity got her caught. Their eyes met but she did not grant him the satisfaction of looking defeated.
Only the chuckle of the Leader tore their eyes from each other. But as his mouth opened, another softer voice rang above his own. All eyes turned to the lanky Lieutenant. He flinched, but spoke his piece. "S-Sir...everyone is awaiting their orders. Shall w-we begin?"
Silence fell upon the group. All eyes now directed toward the Leader. His face was calm and stoic. Not even a flicker of facial muscle. And then a smile encroached upon his face, a toothy anticipating smile.
"Yes....let's begin. Darmer, do the honors will you?"
In a fluid move, the Alchemist reached into his chest pocket and withdrew a phone and flipped it open. Pressing a single number he placed the phone to his ear. An eager smile donned on his face. "Yea...push it." The phone was slapped shut. Giving another glance to the annoying female, he abruptly turned then headed back toward the camp.
Utter silence followed. Even the Leader said nothing as he released the Al-Bhed female and mounted his machina once again. Steam bellowed from the beast as its conductor commanded the monstrosity to move. The earth quaked under its weight and soon the earth began to tremor. But not from a single machine. From the camp, a horde of steam spewing, creaking beasts emerged from their confines, each with its own or a pair of conductors. All with the same war-mongering grin on their faces. The leader cried above the creak of machinery with a voice as powerful as she machina he rode.
"Take them down!!"
A chorus of shouts followed as the machina army marched on the company of Midgar.
From the Galbadian rear a ruckus began as well. A company of Al-Bhed soldiers and machina marched on the unsuspecting army and mirrored the battle cry of the comrades on the other side.
And from the City of Midgar, explosions rang through the air.
Sephiroth had listened to the demons words, but ever the cold professional warrior he didn't take them in, nor let them effect him. The demons attack came forward, but he didn't even move, letting all of the swords hit, and then let the sonic boom come. As the smoke began to clear. But it wouldn't have time as the silver haired devil rushed through the cloud swiping his sword upwards. From this single slash, emerged multiple blue blades of energy slicing into Belzera as if they were individual blades.
" Your words mean nothing..."
He raised up his hand, the ground below them began to tremble and then rushed upwards, the earth cracking and groaning as Sephiroth cast the earth based spell. Thats of course when the Al Bhed began to attack. Sephiroths attention was diverted momentarily when the shouts began.Zack and Kigal looked on however as Vale made off with the sorceress...raising an eyebrow as they watched him run. Zack turned. " This isn't looking too good...whoever this 3rd force is they're heavily armed and they've got us both by the balls...". Kigal grumbled. " Maybe we should make a tactical retreat...".
