Nephia stayed quiet as once again the new person to their merry band asked questions. Mostly due to her own ignorance in the topic than that she had no idea why it was they walked. Her mind was wandering back to the orders she had found on the leader of the troopers back at the temple. Thinking about the possibilities of a full scale battle she tightened her hands into balled fists. She knew a full on battle would be bad as the Empire from what she has heard is rather powerful in their area and rules it with an iron fist.
Her ears perked up at the noise of Adiona's voice speaking on the topic. Hearing about the trials and about her death that she swore of inevitability. Shaking her head she kept her mouth shut and fist tightened around her spear handle. She continued to place her spear before her as a walking stick as she walked ahead of the group keeping a weary eye out for anything out of the ordinary.
Lucius listens to Adiona as she answers his question and honestly he hoped that she was right about the final Aeon revealing itself to the summoner once they arrive in the ruined city, otherwise it was a big long search through the ruin and the rubble to find the Aeon's resting place, And shortly after Jace is replied to by Adiona he responds to him since the man had obviously never set eyes upon Zanarkand.
"The ruined city of Zanarkand is extremely large place probably bigger than Bevelle is"
With that short explanation he turns to look at Adiona and moves closer to her smiling at her warmly before patting her shoulder gently.
"No need to thank me for coming with you, I'd have it no other way it is an honor and a pleasure"
Jace blinked hearing all of the new information. She was really expecting to die from this encounter? no wait it was actually a part of her pilgrimage? He blinked suddenly feeling like an idiot, but nothing about the situation felt right to him. At the core of his being he knew that he wasn't the type to make an all out sacrifice for anyone else. He wasn't a hero, and their was no profit in death, and yet he was now escorting this woman too her grave.
"I am sorry. I did not realize the words that I spoke." He spoke quietly walking with a much more concerned step. He suddenly realized just how poorly he had spoken and his words left a bad taste in his mouth, but at the same time his mind was now on the why? He shook his head this was not his place and it was clearly too late in the journey for him to suggest that they leave, in fact he almost assuredly knew that would only get him thrown out of this party. He shook his head confused for a moment as he leaned on his walking stick. "either way we will find it."
He honestly didn't know what he could add to the topics at hand, he felt like his words had already offended everyone else, and well he was easily the weakest person here. He shook his head, none of it felt right to him. "Has anyone tried to take down sin... without the final Aeon?" It was probably a dumb question, but he didn't really keep up with the events of spira. "Sorry, my old job kept me in the veldt I am actually still very new to this continent, and well its hard to keep up with events and traditions while on a boat."

Adiona glanced to him and nervously smiled while slowly pulling away. She wanted nothing more than to feel his touch but it wouldn't be long before she was not of this world. Her whole life she had prepared for her pilgrimage it was all she knew, except for other places she had read about during her studies in Bevelle. Adiona looked back over to Jace and smiled lightly.
"No I suppose no one has tried to take down Sin without the Final Aeon. It is a suicide pilgrimage either way, Sin is very powerful and the only way we know how to stop it is to obtain the Final Aeon."
It was a valid question to ask if you were not from Spira, Adiona looked back to Lucius and Nephia before glancing back to Jace. They were making good time walking and at least three of the group had a strong purpose to get to Zanarkand.
"It is tradition and....as a summoner of Spira I must keep in line with tradition."

Continuing to walk in front of the group she listened to the idle chatter amongst themselves. Closing her eyes she kept her pace yet reached out to the planet around them. Listening to the ebb and flow of Gaia around them. In her mind she began to talk to the planet after opening her eyes to watch where she was walking.
:: Mother Gaia... Guide this one to her fate. I will take whatever comes my way and defend the woman behind me. For she is a hope for the people of Spira. A hope for a hard fought peace. None shall get in my way... Be it this Gethalian Empire or Sinspawn... I will fight and die if needed. ::
As she spoke out she was mumbling lightly to herself as she closed her eyes one last time before bowing her head to release a silent prayer for those killed in Bevelle the day before. Raising her head back up she made sure to be in front of the group as they walked.
Lucius recalls a story he had heard several times before, mostly in places outside of Spira so he wasn't sure if there was any truth to it, however with Adiona saying no-one had ever tried it just jogged his memory of the story.
"I've heard that there have been a few attempts over the centuries to deal with Sin without using the Final Aeon, none of them have obviously worked seeing as we still have to deal with Sin now, but I think the last attempt was a small group of Al-Bhed teamed up with either the Gesthalian Empire or maybe with a Shin-Ra team to take down Sin with machina and magic but all it did was cuase the complete destruction of the tools and the people involved. I know for a fact that the Maesters don't spread such stories around becuase it would most likely only cuase more panic and trouble across Spira."
With that Lucius turns to look at Jace smiling faintly.
"If there is another way, it would probably be something that would cuase even more issues in the long run for Spira and Gaia."
[STYLE=width: 281px; background-color: #876c9c; text-align: justify; float: right; filter: alpha(opacity=45); -moz-opacity: .45; opacity:.45; padding: 10px; overflow: auto; height: 300px;] Adiona glanced to Lucius as he retold the story he had heard and in the back of her mind she knew she had heard it also. She cursed herself for not being able to return certain events in Spirian history but lately her mind had been wandering to other issues. She looked back to Nephia for a moment and briefly smiled to her before she began to jog on ahead. This was the last time she would see her home and she didn't want to look back...
The troubled summoner kept quiet for most of the journey to the Calm Lands but once she approached them she broke into a sprint. A bright smile spread across her face as the sun shone down onto her bare skin warming her up almost instantly. Packs of wolves roamed together across the lands as did other creatures. Amongst the wildlife was an Inn near the centre of the Calm Lands, it would prove to be useful she thought as once they left for Mount Gagazet there would be no turning back and no more Inns. Adiona felt a little impulsive and as she turned around to her guardians she flashed a cheeky smile while looking to Jace.
"Hey Jace watch this!"
Adiona pulled out her summoning stave and began to twist and twirl her stave in circular motions as the Yevon symbol started to flash underneath her feet. The sky suddenly started to cloud over with thunder and lightning accompanying it, the clouds lit up with more of the Yevonite symbols as in the centre flew down the legendary aeon Bahamut. With his wings black as the night he broke through the clouds at break neck speed. Adiona held her stave by her side as the giant dragon landed a few feet away from her side. Adiona covered her eyes as the dust and dirt flew up into the air once he landed. She looked up to him and walked over holding her hand out to stroke his face and neck as he got onto all fours.
Jace nodded at their stories, it seemed that without these Aeon's sin would live essentually forever. Near indestructible from what he was hearing even when a nation threw it's best weapons at it. He blinked unsure of what to say to all of that, in fact if anything it intimidated him to the point where he didn't really want to be on this journey, having joined up seemingly at the last leg of the race. Well at least thats what they were saying first the calm lands (what ever they were,) then a mountain, and then zanarkand that didn't leave a lot of time.
Lost in thought he didn't hear the lady summoners words until he felt the colder air as the sky darkened and looked up to see a giant black dragon fall from the sky and land beside the lady... summoner... so that's how they got their names! he blinked looking at the dragon. It was both beutiful and destructive, he hadn't seen anything like it since... he gave a shudder remembering a train yard. "Impressive." he said allowed but mostly to himself. he honestly didn't know how to respond to a giant dragon dropping down in front of him.
"That's... I mean...." Jace suddenly felt very small and aware just how along for the ride he was. When the woman he just met and swore to protect could summon a dragon... he could already get the feeling of just how small he was on this adventure. Still it gave him some hope, at least he would be along side the woman who could summon a giant dragon, not against her. "Very impressive."

Nearing the Calm Lands as they where made her nervous. Being so close to the supposed stronghold the Gesthalian Empire had on Spira made her nervous. Yet outwardly she would not show it as she just kept up her cold and clearly determined face. Hearing of the other stories she just kept her thoughts to herself. As Adiona moved in front of them and grabbed her stave from her back Nephia's eyes quirked and she watched each movement of the summoner.
A smile came onto her face as she saw the large behemoth of a dragon that was Bahamut descend from the sky and head to Adiona's side. Nephia moved and stood a few yards farther down the road. She was going to continue being her usual self keeping her gaze down the road.
Lucius lets out a whistle as he uses a finger to lift up his sunglasses to stare in awe at the sight of Bahamut, he had heard tell of the aeons intimidating form, he wasn't sure if he was recalling if it was also known as the king of dragons but he could believe it if his memory was correct. The large dragon at the beck and call of the summoners of Yevon was an impressive sight to behold and it was unmatched against any other summon creature he had seen before.
"So, are we flying to Zanarkand on him? Or can we get him to blast a direct path to Zanarkand for us?"
Lucius says as he grins and turns to look at lady Adiona.
[STYLE=width: 281px; background-color: #876c9c; text-align: justify; float: right; filter: alpha(opacity=45); -moz-opacity: .45; opacity:.45; padding: 10px; overflow: auto; height: 300px;] Lady Adiona smiled brightly as she placed her hand onto Bahamut's leg, he stood up tall with his arms crossed over his chest. Lucius then made a comment of possibly flying on Bahamut. Adiona stood for a moment before she looked up to Bahamut and then back to the others. She didn't know that much about Lucius but he seemed to speak sense in some of the situations they had been in.
"I don't see why we can't fly all the way to Zanarkand....Bahamut is strong enough to carry the four of us on his back."
The young summoner turned to face Bahamut, she began to rub his leg with her hand while humming the hymn of the fayth.
"What do you say big guy? Fancy stretching your wings a bit more...will you carry us to the holy land of Zanarkand?"
Bahamut lowered himself down onto all fours slowly. Adiona took that as his way of saying yes, she smiled and clumsily climbed onto his back. She looked to her guardians and held out her hand for one of them to take.
Jace blinked for some reason the idea of flying via air control just feels wrong. When he had made that comment not so long ago they had berated him, and yet now they were more then willing to fly across country to zanarkand, but rather then on a ship it was via this creature. As impressively built as it was it was no where near as sturdy as a ship. It was most certainly counter intuitive, but he wasn't really in a position where he could say anything more on the matter, well aside from it would have been nice for him to have a little more time before having to deal with all of the evil of zanarkand.
"If that's the way you wish to travel." He said taking Adionia's hand. He had thought he would have had some more time to actually meet with and understand this group a little more. He planted himself as heavily as he could onto the dragon, holding on for dear life. "I guess it's too late to explain that I don't like flying much." Jace would rather have taken an oceanic transport, then an areal one.
He looked at the others... giving a small sigh he couldn't imagine what he had just agreed too, this seemed like it violated his biggest rules, and yet part of his gut was clenched on just how awesome and terrifying riding an actual dragon would be.

As Lucius spoke about using Bahamut to fly to the Calm Lands she smirked. It was a brilliant idea and she knew it. As Jace walked over after Adiona climbed up onto the back of the beast she followed waiting for him to get situated on the dragons back. Hearing him complain about not liking flying made her chuckle a little.
"Well I hate riding on ships... Yet I would do it so my mission is a success. "
She shut her lips and stood beside Bahamut for a moment before climbing up and sitting behind Jace. Feeling the sheer power beneath her made her a little awe struck by it. Patting Bahamut gently she closed her eyes and listened to the others.
Lucius chuckles as his cheeky suggestion was accepted by Adiona, he then turns to look at Jace as he admits to not being a fan of flying, his grin covering the lower part of his face before he speaks up.
"If its the idea of falling from a height I'm sure the big guy could give you an enclosed room to fly in, although it would most likely be warm and damp in his mouth, you might even need to hold onto his sharp teeth. If it makes you feel any better, the chance of a dragon crashing is pretty low becuase unlike an airship, its alive and aware of whats going on around it so it can avoid dangers and react as well as move quicker."
With that Lucius takes one step backwards before he leaps up ontothe back of Bahamut before he scales up his back to try and sit near the floating wheel thing on the back of the aeon.
"I think thats everyone Lady Adiona, lets get Air Bahamut off the ground!"
[STYLE=width: 281px; background-color: #876c9c; text-align: justify; float: right; filter: alpha(opacity=45); -moz-opacity: .45; opacity:.45; padding: 10px; overflow: auto; height: 300px;] Adiona could feel her cheeks warm up as Lucius managed to get onto Bahamut. Their only moment of emotion, well mostly hers was witnessed by Nephia and he seemed to keep a professional head on with the odd comment there and there. Adiona turned back around and leaned down onto Bahamut's back wrapped her arms around him as much as possible. The great dragon was warm...she could feel the strength radiating from him as she closed her eyes.
"Time to go big guy..."
As quickly as Lady Adiona opened her eyes, Bahamut had began to flap his large multicoloured wings. He pushed off from the ground and began to fly high above the Calm Lands towards Mt Gagazet. The young Summoner hoped her guardians were keeping a tight grip as Bahamut began to pick up his flying speed.
"Not so rough now!"
{Shall we end the thread here and I will create one for arriving at Zanarkand.}
