Slow careful footsteps, not getting in anyones way, yet at the same time not bothering at all if he was. Galbadia at the moment had been in the centre of some serious cause of unrest between itself and the rulers of the Midgar continent, Shinra. So, here he was, in the city of Dollet, from here he would make his way to the capital, he was low on funds so he'd follow the train tracks to the city rather than take the direct route with the trains. He looked out onto the beach, some what solemnly. This place would be good for a frontal assault on Galbadia.
But then again, thats precisely what he was wanting to avoid. The creature that had destroyed his world may have been overcome by these Gaian's. But they had still got a lot to learn. As his brother always said. " Monsters are dangerous, but my neighbors even worse". He flicked up one of his SOIL bullets, each single one contained the essence of those who had passed away. Such gifts weren't to be taken lightly or spent frivolously. He flicked itween his fingers and then returned it to the alloted place on his belt. His eyes moved up the base of the cliff Dollet was situated on.
" A communications dish....".
Another advantage to the attacker. Cutting off communications within this region of Galbadia would give an aggressor a significant tactical advantage. Already things wern't looking good for Galbadia, Kaze had to wonder just what they were thinking. Stealing from perhaps the most aggressive industrial nation on Gaia. Discounting Esthar of course, however they'd become more placid ever since the sorceress had been ousted and the President was stuck into play. However, there were rumours flying about that there was a sorrcerress aiding Galbadia, and thats where their new moxy had come from. Believing that even Shinra's legendary SOLDIER unit wouldn't be able to match wits with a mistress of magic. He shook his head, it wouldn't be pretty, but in the end SOLDIER had the numbers, and of course. Sephiroth. The dreaded man with the silver hair. A swordsman so great no man on Gaia could stand against him and come out none the worse. Kaze looked under his cloak for a moment at the Ma-Gun strapped to his forearm. Would even his weapon stand a chance, as mighty as it was? Probably not. But then again...Galbadia couldn't be that stupid. He shook his head and closed his eyes.
" Which means they've got something else up their sleeve...and I intend to find out what...".
Kio sighed as he walked around Dollet. He was heading back to Balamb after visiting the Galbadia Garden on “SeeD Business”. In reality, he was pretty much a decorated delivery boy, and it was badly irking his mood.
The man was used to being picked on because he was originally from Galbadia, Balamb and it having had a long standing rivalry, but when he was specifically chosen for missions just because of his origins, it annoyed him. “Its your home, you would know your way around better and not get distracted by those who haven’t been there before.“ Excuses… It was like personal life mixing with work, something he hated when it happened, but… It was his job, he had to do it.
Going there, he had dreaded it, constantly, due to the looks he knew he would be getting from his former peers in his SeeD clothing. The whispers of them letting a “Demon” into the group wasn’t going to help its reputation in the world… Let alone the fact that he was certain it would piss him off within a few minutes.
Thankfully, Matrine had been expecting the man, and while he had indeed gotten looks while the two walked through the halls, Fir’s mind was primarily focused on his old mentor and able to ease itself through the glares and glances.
The two talked about their lives and their schedules, things that had changed and stayed the same, and it really did feel at home for a short while, but soon enough, business called and Matrine gave Kio an envelope in exchange for the one Cid had intended for him. As he left the Garden and Matrine behind, the man did feel a lot better, but as he moved through the Galbadian Continent on his way back to Balamb, the stares once more ensued and his feeling was slipping.
He eventually made his way to Dollet and was currently walking around as he awaited the boat that would take him home. It was over an hour late, but he expected this. Balamb was barely a more hospitable home than Galbadia…
The man sighed and pulled at his collar. How he hated wearing his SeeD Uniform… It was so tight and constricting, like a suit made of snakes…
Glancing around him, he noticed a cloaked man staring at the communication tower, the main center of Dollet, before checking inside of his cloak. His eyes suddenly focused as Kio became obviously unnerved, slowly backing away from the man and moving to a building and leaning against it, watching him. There was no stealth in the move, uncaring if he was seen, but seeing as the man was distracted by his own thoughts, there was a good chance he wouldn’t notice the move.
He couldn’t make a move without good reason, he refused to “prove” the reputation of him being a bloodthirsty beast. For now, Fir just waited, he would watch and see...
“ Hey you what you staring at”. The voice came from the alleyway, a couple of Galbadian soldiers seemed to be slacking off in their duties on Dollet. Officially this town was neutral ground, however recently they’d been subject to a take over, not war like, that would have sparked off something early that they wouldn’t have wanted. Kaze’s eye looked over to them, they were slacking off, but that was because they were soldiers, trained to fight not guard. They were itching for combat, and that meant they would be framing a lot of people for this they hadn’t done.
And there was no doubt most of these people framed would likely appear as becoming violent in their reports. One approached, they were both dressed in the lower class of the blue uniform. The one that came close shoved him lightly on the arm. “ Hey, I think this guy is a bit sneaky looking…I think we should take him down for questioning….eh….you got any problems about that?”. Kaze closed his eyes, not moving. The man shoved him again.
“ Wise guy eh?”.
The other one smirked lightly, his hand lowering down to the stun baton at his side. Still however Kaze didn’t move. They then turned aggressive. The man reaching down for his baton, however he only met with Kaze’s fist, and was sent hurtling backwards. The other drew a pistol from his side and started shooting, the black wind dodged and ducked and hurled himself behind a wall on the side. Suddenly…there was a pulse…a movement from the ma gun. His eyes looked down, as one of the diamond inlays on the side of it shimmered. “ It moved…”. He walked out then, fear gone from his mind. The soldier started laughing. “ You’re a dead man”. Once more Kaze was silent, studying the man. Judging his crimes. Choosing his fate, and just as his partner got up. It was decided. “ The SOIL charge time to use on you has been decided!”. He pointed, and unveiled the Ma Gun. His hand swept down and grabbed a SOIL bullet from his ammunition belt. He removed a single shell and showed it. “ The grime that will eat away at rocks…..Shark Grey”. He flicked the bullet, and it slammed into one of the gun chambers. The chamber automatically closing behind it. He removed another “ The SOIL that drains thirst……water blue”. Once more this round was loaded into his gun, finally he removed a third. “ And finally…that which forbids the birth of life….crusher white…..”. The gun began to react with energy. He raised it up “ Destroy!......Bombardment!”. He pulled the trigger and the ammunition mixed. It shot into the sky, and then split up into tiny different pieces, all shooting downwards causing small explosions, sending rock flying. Kaze turned, and then looked at the Seed member. Was he looking at him?. It didn’t matter. Things were going to get heated here.
Kio watched the two Galbadian Soldiers walk up to the suspicious man, and though he supposed they had a good right to ask him if he was up to anything, their conduct was… abhorrent to say the least. The man looked at them blankly, it was the same look Fir could feel upon his face, which ironically brought a small smile to his lips.
At least he wasn’t the only one who thought they were idiots.
Unfortunately, the pair started getting a bit abusive, and Kio wasn’t exactly a fan favorite of such tactics. Pulling himself from the wall, he decided to intervene, but at the same time, the cloaked man revealed a weapon and began taking out bullets from his belt, casting a spell.
Even though it was obvious what the man was doing, Kio couldn’t help but gawk. Were they that stupid? The man was talking and arming his weapon, but they just STOOD there? How…retarded. Passing up such a perfect opportunity to attack…
Leaning against the wall again, the SeeD watched as he aimed his gun to the sky and fired the bullets, causing them to separate as they raised, then descended to the earth, resulting in numerous explosions easily killing the pair of men and thankfully none came near the buildings to endanger the citizens. Noticing his gaze turning back to Fir, the man smirked.
”A rather…inefficient way to fight, isn’t it? Having to call out all those words to fire off ONE Spell, please tell me such a weapon can be used as a simple gun?” Asked Kio.
The man was not taunting, he wasn’t mocking, he was actually dead serious. The question merely needed answering, especially as a siren set off, alerting every Galbadian Soldier in the area who hadn’t already seen or heard the explosion. As several teams of them began to arrive around the man, Kio sighed and raised up his hand, moving towards the guy.
”Excuse me, excuse me. SeeD Agent here.” Called out the man, waving it a little and revealing a SeeD badge. ”This guy was attacked by a couple of monsters that had snuck into town and had to defend himself, unfortunately a couple of Soldiers got caught up in it, I saw it. Please see to help the two men and I will deal with the man.”
Watching them closely, he scanned from face to face. Some of them knew him, some didn’t, those that did would likely not believe him. Those who didn’t might simply for his SeeD rank, one of the highest authorities in the world. It all came out to what won; his reputation or SeeD’s reputation…
The bombardment blast had indeed done its job, however it had attracted more soldiers, including the Seed member who had been staring at him before. He looked him up and down, the man seemed rather uncomfortable in these surroundings, just his posture and the facial expression gave away that much. However what was the unlikely suprise of the day was that this Seed member actually bailed him out of trouble when the other soldiers came a knockin. Next came the questions, but for now Kaze was completely silent, simply staring at him. He was at this point regestering whether or not the Seed member could be considered a threat, and woulld he try and stop his own personal investigation into the matters of Galbadia? At this point he just shrugged, it was unlikely. Seed were really just mercenaries, however respected they wer. And mercenaries were bought and sold for frivalous ammounts of gil. Holding no alignment one way or the other. He closed his eyes before answering the mans question.
" Of course it does....However sometimes one spell is all thats required.....But to each their own".
He was silent now, not about to tell this stranger about the inner workings of the ma gun and the SOIL bullets The soldiers who had been contemplating the issue of whether to let him go or not simply nodded. " Leaving it to Seed seems like a good idea....hell I don't want to do the paper work concerning this...". Kaze shook his head at their incompetance. Still it was that incompetance that would lead to his survival. But it also added to his own personal report about how well Galbadia could defend Dollet against a foriegn invader. Unfortunatly if they couldn't get their soldiers to do simple things such as this and keep up regular patrol sweeps then the Shinra military would easily take this town in one fell swoop, especially if they had Soldier members leading the charge. It would be a complete and utter massacre. Already he heard the sounds of air raid sirens and the screams of women and children as they were cut down by the merciless blades of Soldier. He had seen them fight before....they were....monsters. No human could fight like that, not without some kind of intervention. But that was the mako treatment he supposed. But there was something else in there as well....he just could shake the feeling. There was more to these Soldier than met the eye. And thats what Galbadia had risked war to steal. A stab in the dark at making the ultimate warrior. He opened his eyes and looked up at the Seed.
" Do what you wish with the soldiers...I have business with Galbadia...".
