Manny was enjoying Treno, it was turning out to be quite fun. By that of course he was finding it easy to get drunk.the pub he was in had a reputation, apparently nothing but thugs went there. Though after that one thug had tried to take Manny's bottle and left only with five bullets in his left leg, no-one had bothered him. they were all sat the other end of the bar. though that might have been the fumes off the bottle.
Manny had come to Treno on an important mission, not that he knew it was in fact because Treno was pretty darned far from Midgar. So Shin-Ra didn't have to worry about him for a while.
She didn't have to hide so much here since it was close to home and well everyone would recognise her regardless if she wore her cloak. It wasn't the first time she had been out and about in Treno and this time she had her knights with her. As per her usual style Princess Garnet had her long dark hair tied in a ponytail and she wore her orange jumpsuit. There was no special reason she was visiting Treno, it was just an off chance visit and her first as Queen of Alexandria. That was daunting in itself and it hadn't really hit home yet that she now ruled and she was only sixteen.
Garnet walked ahead of her knights whilst they kept a little distance so she could at least feel...normal if only for a little while. Treno on the outside look didn't appear to be a friendly or particularly safe place but here lived someone Garnet knew. She did intend to visit him but first she wanted to get a better look at Treno. As her new role as Queen she needed to keep on the ball and keep up royal front.
Manny's attention wasn't being filled and he was bored. Sure he loved to drink but nothing was happening, the most excitement he had had was with the brute who'd tried to take his drink. beyond that little had happened and the Turk needed more excitement. Slamming down the gil for his drinks Manny stood and stumble-strode out through the door almost knocking a random passer by over.
Manny continued to walk along, hardly showing more than a slight wobble now he'd found his legs again. The alcohol and the sunset began to affect his mind and Manny began to whistle a bit, a song unfamiliar to himself but sounding similar to the song, Melodies of life. He was in a good mood and the whatever he had been drinking was driving the urge to sing but no song came to mind. So the whistling continued til he found a place to take out his flute and play.
With some miraculous footwork Manny was able to walk towards the Card Stadium without crashing to his death. Before long Manny plonked himself down on the side of the road, legs over the side of the path facing the Arena, over an arch under which ran to the Stadium. He continued to whistle the melody as he took out his Flute and put it to his lips. As he blew the beautiful tune began leaking through the instrument, echoing around the area to anyone nearby.
Treno had come alive as Garnet walked through the streets, it was refreshing to see especially after the horror she had endured in Alexandria. The young princess walked through Treno with a bright smile across her young face. The citizens of Treno and any other land couldn't see that she was suffering, a brace face was needed in all aspects of her role. She let her eyes fall to the ground as she continued to walk not really noticing which direction she was headed, although her knights made sure she didn't walk into anyone or anything. It was then she heard a melody float softly into her small ears. It was beautiful....it sounded similar to a song she knew. Garnet looked up to see that she was near the the arena where a popular card game was played; not a game she had played before. Her eyes met those of a man playing the flute, she walked slowly over to him and began to hum the tune she knew.
"That's a very beautiful melody....it almost reminds me of a song I know. Though I don't know where I know it from..."
Manny was enjoying the sunshine and it only served to help his playing, almost losing all signs of his earlier boozing. he wasn't even swaying anymore. Like a flower growing in the sunlight the playing gathered strength from the warmth of the sun and refused to lessen, the few wrong notes soon fell into place as many played roughly a verse, becoming ever closer to the song it resembled.
Manny's eyes were closed, lost to playing, the calmness washed over him. almost working to sober his mind, of course it couldn't get rid of the alcohol it just stopped him seeming drunk.
The Turk picked up a humming to his side and smiled, the song was apparently beginning to catch, maybe he could set the whole of Treno awash with music. The Turk thought to himself forgetting for a moment how many people wouldn't hum for being stick-in-the-muds.
The Manny took a while to realize he had been spoken to, almost too long. His head turned away from the flute, though the song continued, echoing around for a few seconds. Then looked over to Garnet almost seeming to lose his balance as if to fall. But Manny wasn't that type of guy to fall so easily, instead he just wobbled slightly before speaking.
"Oh, hello princess, I do apologize, miles away lost in music" He grinned, slightly too much, though the fact he smelt fairly like he'd had a few drinks thrown on him did make it somewhat obvious he was a bit more than tipsy.
"My, my, my. I was told the Princess was lovely, but I never quite got the full story it seems." this would all probably have sounded better were it not the fact Manny wasn't actually a moron. The words were all short and they were an attempt to sound smarter than he was and slightly say he knew more than he should. Actually pretty much everyone knew how pretty the princess was. Its hard to keep pretty children hidden when you are a monarch.
While beauty was a blessing for the moral of people you ruled being pretty was the fast track way for Manny to try and "Pick you up" as he called it. In fact he tried so often that picking a girl up was becoming a well known phrase in Midgar.
The Turk looked at Garnet then back to the flute before flicking back to garnet"Would you like me to continue since you enjoy the song?" He offered, his kind side showing a little. She enjoyed his playing and was more than happy to play again.
Manny was flirting with royalty as if they were peasants, Tseng would not be happy, it was risky and Manny often upset people, it was like his thing to do so.
The melody stayed in her mind even though the older man had stopped playing his instrument, the two female Alexandrian Knights stood behind her with her hands by the handles of their swords. Her long dark hair bounced off the bottom of her back as she looked around at the immediate area. It was a wonderous building and not one she had really looked upon when she had visited Treno in the past. It was at that point the whiff of alcohol flew up Garnet's nostrils, her face scrunched up before she looked back to the man.
"Oh, only play if you wish to. I was just commenting.."
It was so familiar to her. A feeling of sadness washed over the young monarch but she had no idea why. Garnet looked back the man as he made a comment about her looks which caused her cheeks to flush a bright pink, Garnet had never been good in recieving compliments or knowing what to say once one had been bewstowed upon her.
"As Queen of Alexandria I know that I do not rule over Treno but I was hoping to speak to at least the self appointed ruler. Though I understand he has been missing for some time, do you happen to know the whereabouts of August Krasnow?"
Manny Laughed in the strange laugh he had, almost sounding like the animated laugh of Winnie the pooh but with a slightly deeper tone. "You don't have to worry about me wanting to play a beautiful song. If I wanted any other job I would join a performers Group as a Flute player to play such tunes." Manny said sighing happily.
He raised the flute to his lips. then paused as Garnet blushed, not quite understanding why for a second. Then she spoke to ask a question. Manny looked serious as he thought about it, he recognized the name she had spoken, he was a big wig, or at least so Manny thought, he wasn't too sure.
"Hmm, I'm afraid not, stranger here myself. He wouldn't tell me where he vanished off to, could be off on business, he's quite the busy bee I hear. rolling in honey too, he could buzz off anywhere." Manny said laughing again slightly trying to keep Garnet cheered up in spite of the bad news. Showing the some would say "over relaxed" attitude he tried to maintain. Manny stood and raised the flute to his mouth again and this time began to play a new song, equally beautiful as the last. (the Grandia 2 song "Romance at a windy isle", I'd link but sounds broken so can't promise a link'd work :/ sorry)
He played for a little while looking for a reaction from his audience, he was after all playing for a pretty lady, a princess no less he should have reminded himself. Heck seeing the guards should have reminded him fail all else but not an inkling of this fact passed Manny's mind. He was playing to impress her. The fact a cloud had passed in front of the sun sort of pointed that out. it was no longer the Joy of the beauty of the day that fueled his playing, it was the beauty before him.
A figure would approach the column of Pluto Knights. It was a dapper man in a full business suit. Taking a moment to let the two to finish speaking he would clear his throat and speak up.
"Queen Garnet? I was sent as a representative of K-Industries' owner operator August Krasnow. Would all of you like to follow me to the main offices?"
The man would bow to the Queen and look at the Turk with a slight glare in his eyes. It was evident he may know who the man was. Turning around he began walking toward the largest building of Treno.

For the first time in a long while her mother had not been on her mind, the wound was still fresh of course but time is a great healer as someone wise once said. Queen Garnet began to sway gently with the breeze as if she were ready to begin dancing. Her eyes snapped open as the voice of man broke the harmonious melody, he was dressed in a full smart suit which impressed the Queen. He spoke of August Krasnow which peaked her interest. With a small courtsey Queen Garnet spoke up in the most regal and professional voice she could muster.
"I see. Thank you for your assistance, my Alexandrian Knights will be accompanying me."
Garnet glanced back to her two female knights and nodded, they knew to stay close especially after what had happened at the castle. There was no where safe for her now and probably never would be. At such young age of taking over the throne many would try to take it from her by force...or worse. Garnet brushed back her long dark hair and then looked to the young man who had been playing the flute.
"The gentleman did say all of us so I can assume that your attendance is required as well sir."
Manny smiled as he saw the princess cheer up slightly and continued to play until the intruder cleared his throat. Manny slowed and quietened slightly as he spoke, then Garnet did so. He paused slightly, only moving to play different notes. The Turk knew better than most a suit was never the sign of trust worthiness and reliability it was said to be, quite to opposite. It was always a sign of someone not to trust, especially the ones most suited to looking trustworthy. This suit set of Manny's distrust immediately. The distrusting look the man returned just confirmed it. The Turk almost laughed but somehow stopped himself as Garnet turned round.
Manny flinched heavily and blew a flat note, breaking off the song as she called him SIR!. "Yes, most likely. I'm often called to attend official thing-ies. And please. It's Manny. You call old scholars with large noses and foot thick glasses Sir" The Turk said calmly and deadly serious. However after straightening his tie he seemed to relax again.
Manny wasn't happy with this situation, he was beginning to sober very quickly and because of the fact he was having to make an appearance as a Turk he couldn't drink anymore till this was over. He hated meetings. With a smile he indicated for the princess to go before him. "ladies first." he said kindly and smiling again. He was glad there were no more Turks here to make things worse.
"By all means Queen. They are allowed to follow you anywhere within the city limits. As our boss informed us as such..."
The steward spoke up as he stayed several paces ahead of the gathered knights and those they where protecting. He would stay several paces in front of them as they began to walk the distance to the main building holding K Industries.
{{Take as many posts as you choose to get there. Lemme know next post you need as Steward will be silent for the trip unless directly asked a question.}}

The cool breeze of Treno ran across her bare skin cooling her down somewhat, she hadn't realised until that point she had began to burn up. Perhaps it was the situation and her anxious nature since her mother had passed away. Again her mother was creeping into her mind, this couldn't keep happening not when she had regal duties to perform. The steward spoke up to calm her concern. To Garnet it wasn't so much of a concern but more of a statement. Her Alexandria knights would follow her to hell and back if required.
"I see..."
There was not much else to say to the steward but she kept her eyes on his back as she and Manny followed him to where ever he was leading them. From the way the steward had looked to Manny it seemed that he knew him or knew of him. Garnet looked to Manny and birefly smiled trying to make some conversation.
"What is your occupation Manny? From the way you are dressed it seems you have an important job."
Manny's eyes barely left the steward. It seemed to Manny he knew too much. Had this been elsewhere Manny may have challenged the stewards knowledge but that would mean him revealing his full hand to the Queen. That was not a good idea. He considered the options before speaking. The Turk stroked his chin and paused for only a second.
"I'm only a cog, a cog in a wheel. Important to the machine but mostly unknown. Nothing like r. Krasnow. Running his own company and all"" Manny said fairly stupidly, he barreled straight into the question then grinned oblivious, probably quite annoyingly too. He was beginning to get almost annoyed at the fact he couldn't drink. The booze urge was beginning to show to those who knew how to spot it.

She would glance to Manny when he answered her question and it was an answer she didn't entirely expect. The use of his analagy was interesting and quite apt depending on ones role.
"I see.."
He had mentioned August Krasnow again and her young regal ears pricked up. Through her dark hair she looked to Manny and smiled briefly. For all she was trying to present herself as the Queen of Alexandria she was still only sixteen. Still a child but with the weight of her country's troubles on her shoulders. A quiet sigh escaped her mouth as she shook her head.
"I must admit I do not know a lot about Mr Krasnow and with my sudden ascension to the throne there was hardly time to discuss with my mother about running Alexandria. Luckily I have very highly trained knights and advisors....are you alright you seem rather...agitated?"
Manny nodded. He didn't know much about royalty but whenever he saw Rufus, the only leader he knew, president Shin-Ra was always annoyed and grouchy. the reason was obvious to everyone but Manny who thought it was due to the pressure of ruling.
So when she talked about August and ruling he nodded. Well, 'e's quite secretive so finding much about him is damned near impossible." Manny said calmly. "Doesn't make you a bad ruler though. Not fully informed but not bad. It's what you do that makes what kind of ruler you are. Its how you treat them. Do well by your people and they'll be loyal. Ruling ain't about what you get but what you give. don't be afraid to listen to your heart. You have a good heart." Manny nodded, resiting from a book he'd read. He did add the bit about her personally though.
Manny had completely forgotten about booze talking to the princess though being sober wasn't usually his idea of a good time. it was then he said something else stupid. "Yeah, I think the president should think like that, Might do Midgar some good.* He said, mostly to himself. Manny was only loyal to the Turks. To be honest he'd like to see Tseng as president. Manny was sure Tseng had a better heart, even if he hid it to work for Shin-Ra .

As they were guided through the bustling, soot choked streets of the industrialized factory city – not unlike Midgar now in its disparity. It’s once pristine districts had become choked with the smoke billowing out from the factories which sprawled from the city to the mountains in the west to the cliffs edge in the east. The poor districts fair even worse than they had been under aristocratic rule, now driven to the most polluted and desolate corners of the city – those who were fortunate had found work in the factories and now lived in the crowded work houses and apartments all under the brand of K-Industries. Everywhere you looked was August’s hand pulled the strings from headquarters in the north, the towering symbol of uncontrolled enterprise wrapped in a paramilitary blanket.
In the outer reaches of the city and the within the walls of the wealthy estates you could still find the old police force, though now under the check of K-Industries, they represented a false sense of normality for those foolish enough to believe that the city still had independent oversight. The closer one got to the K-Industries headquarters, the more the ugly truth of the city emerged out of the gilded guise of progress. K-Industries personal security forces, a small well equipped military with an unlimited supply of new and frightening weapons all stamped with August’s approval. Men and woman, dressed in fine military style uniforms with long coats and peaked caps displaying the crest of ‘K’. They had in their possession an assortment of arms, from pistols to cumbersome rifles which glowed from the coursing properties of Mist.
Check-points and roadblocks dotted the road to the tower, protected by strange energy fields and detachments of these special security forces. While overhead, loudspeakers issued out warnings, laws, and propaganda. A mutt darted into the street, spooked by something and ran towards one of these energy fields unaware of the consequences. The moment its muzzle crossed between the electric transmitters, it froze and quickly vaporized to ash. However, when the group approached, the field was lowered for them to cross safely. From there, the headquarters was a brief jaunt away, coming to a final field gate flanked by high walls of thick stone and metal plates with even higher towers. Mechanizes suits lumbered along the sides of the street, though not as formidable or armored as Gesthals, they appeared quick and cheap to manufacture.
Beyond this point they’d enter a courtyard, heavily patrolled but at the same time teaming with the bustle of business activity. People in suits and work attire hurried along stone paths to various buildings darting the sprawling complex, carrying with them papers and work related devices. The place felt different then outside the wall, as if they had just stepped into another city. The sky was just as dark and dreary as anywhere in Treno, but the grounds had a semblance of life to them. Lights that felt as warm and soft as sunlight, fountains and tiny streams with water that was clear and fresh and here, the people at least appeared happy. A far cry from the depression that riddles the rest of the working city. There, the steward leads you to the large double doors of the center and largest building in the complex.
Inside, they were met with the sight of bustling rows of workers typing away at their desks. The air smelled heavily of ink and polished hard-woods with just a tinge of lingering tobacco. High ceilings gave it a cavernous feel from which the sounds echoes, distinguishing one from the next. Past this, down long halls lined with offices and choked with people, the steward lead all to a polished brass double doors, flanked by two more private security who, upon approach, turned two keys and parted the doors leading to a dark room and the moment you crossed through the door, they closed behind you leaving the Pluto Guards. The lights turned on and you find yourselves in elevator now ascending along with the steward. As you rise a bright flash of light bathes you for barely a blink and before your eyes can even readjust, the elevator stops and the doors slide open.
There, in a large room sat a huddled figure at a large desk facing you, scribbling away at papers and ledgers. Behind him, large windows overlooked the smoke choked city, the stacks from the factories extending out like a columned hall far off into the distance. An airship floats by, branded by the company of the one whose office you now find yourself. The room felt old yet sophisticated, old world charm with modern sensibility. Framed schematics of K-Industry hallmark products adorned the walls, some of these very artifacts even displayed prominently on shelves and tables. In one corner there was a drafting table, messy with all manner of instruments. In the other stood a large squared man in a bowler and black suit, in his hand, cuffed to his wrist was a large case. His eyes were watching both of you like a raptor to prey but he paid you no more acknowledgement.
The huddled creature never looked up from his writing upon your arrival, his sunken but sharp dark eyes transfixed to the ledger in his hands. Though he did pry an ear towards the sound of your arrival, yet continued writing uninterrupted. The steward approached first, politely bowing as he did so.
"Why is this girl here?" August inquired with a note of aggravation. "Sir, its Queen Garnet as you've requested." Replied the steward.
August looked up from his writing, glancing for a moment to the two before him then checked a pocket watch. He cocked his brow in surprise, "They're early, I see. Very well, you can go." He shooed the steward away with a wave of his hand. Waiting till the man departed through a side door. August closed the ledger, set down his pen and sat back in his high-backed chair. "Princ- Excuse me, Queen Garnet, what brings you to my city this day?" His voice hissed out.

There hadn't been time for that not after the sort of attack on Alexandria, issues needed to be sorted as soon as possible. The young Queen slowly walked towards the Burmecian and stood with her arms by her sides, her two Alexandrian knights walked up behind her with theirs hands near the hilts of their swords. They wouldn't attack without provocation especially if a move was made against her. Garnet looked to August and tried to almost lighten the mood by smiling but there was something about him...she couldn't bring herself to look happy.
"Good day Mr Krasnow. As my newly appointed position as Queen of Alexandria I have made my first point to visit each of the surrounding cities."
Not bad. Quite professional for a sixteen year old, but sixteen year old or not she was still the Queen of Alexandria. She knew there would be some that would call her up on her lack of experience and age. This didn't bother her too much...well more she didn't let it look as though it bothered her. She knew she still had a lot to learn but this was the best way to learn it. Instead of just sitting at her throne all day she wanted to get out and about.
"Since Treno holds some good memories for me it is my first stop on my travels. I want to make sure the communication between our cities remain open and friendly. I am also intrigued as to how you came into this position of ruling Treno."
Post by August Krasnow on Oct 17, 2012 23:43:24 GMT
August’s lips curled into a smarmy smile as the young Queen spoke – it was so quaint and formal, typical of the royals of her kind. A certain warmth from the old world charm lifted his soul, even for a greasy moment. It reminded him of the days at the social clubs, how the young socialites would address their senior. Those days seemed so long ago. This sentiment slowly faded as Garnet continued to speak.
“Ruling?” August scoffed as he shifted in his chair, “Do you see any gods or kings here? No one ‘rules’ Treno. What you see here, Queen Garnet, is enterprise on a massive scale. You see-“ He leaned over the desk, resting his elbow as he pointed towards her. “I had a vision, since I was a little spat of a boy, that the potential my family’s industry was untapped and needed the proper nudge. My vision would lead to what you see here today, a place where the best and brightest could come and achieve greatness.” He explained, “Everyone willing and with a drive and determination contributes here – what I do is merely give them the guiding hand and resources so that they can achieve theirs and the dreams of their forefathers. It just so happens that Treno proved convenient to fulfill this. No, the only thing that rules here is industrious thought. As for the sobs on the assembly line-” He sat back and shrugged off what he was about to say. “I suppose you could say I ‘rule’ them, if giving them wages and a chance at bettering themselves defines ‘ruling’.”
As he finished his soliloquy, August moved from his chair to the windows behind him and for a moment, gazed off at the city. “So you were saying that you wished for our two cities to remain ‘open and friendly’.” He reaches into his coat’s pocket and draws forth a device, a clicker. He presses the button, it beeps, and that which appeared to be a simple framed picture of a schematic flickered black before a shot of Garnet and the others in the elevator. Their bodies awash in white forms, ghostly, with metal and non-organic materials on their person outlined in startling detail. The image focused on Manny and the gun he carried. “Then perhaps you can explain how in Alexandria it’s consider ‘friendly’-“ The image zoomed in on the gun, where the faint embossed ShinRa brand can be seen scrawled on the gun. He turned in a snap, eyes narrowed on Manny like a predatory beast. “To bring a ShinRa agent into my office!” He snapped his hand to Kane, “Be a good chap and relinquish the…” He chuckled, “Turk of his sidearm.”
Kane approached, lumbering like a stone giant. “Unless of course you were going to turn him over to me, then I thank you for this kind gift. You really shouldn’t have.”
They say, "Evil prevails when good men fail to act." What they ought to say is, "Evil prevails."
Manny was becoming increasingly agitated. He didn't like being dragged out here. now Manny could handle himself but he wasn't just going into a spider's web but a spider's CITY and the head arachnid was August Krasnow. But he couldn't really back out now. He was in the man's damn office. No way out.
Manny watched the exchange between August and Garnet, not really seeing anything to do. he sighed and watched Kane slightly. August really made his teeth itch. The man was just like most of his breed, no regard for the lower men. It made him uncomfortable and the lack of any booze in his system wasn't helping in the slightest.
Manny knew just enough about August to know to be very wary. To the point of growing eyes in the back of your head. the man was clever enough to fight and win battles with WORDS a dangerous weapon to be sure. Then there was he Behemoth in front of him, Augusts bodyguard could have crushed grown men like they were grapes he knew already. But he was even bigger in person. As immovable as the mountains themselves.
Drawing his attention back August clicked a button which in turn showed ghostly images of the two. Himself and garnet, all their items shown with great detail. including what seemed too many bottles in his bag. It seemed to hold more than its size would have lead one to believe.
Then Manny saw his gun in the picture, the Shin-Ra logo on the handle drawing attention like a blackhole. Manny seemed oblivious though. Then as August glared at him Manny shrugged, completely missing the fact August wasn't pleased. With a slight sigh and a shrug Manny opened his blazer and pulled out the gun not touching the trigger and turned it in his hand so the handle faced Kane and handed it over.
"Charming, simply charming. Perhaps I should ask my next holiday be here too. To be greeted by one as great as Mr. Krasnow, what a treat. Eh, Your Highness?" Manny said sarcastically, he knew this wasn't going to end well. "Bloody bad place to send me for a break Tseng." Manny sighed pinching his nose. This was the last time he came to Treno. City of Nobles his ass.

She looked to the man named Kane as he approached them both. Instinctively Garnet slid in front of Manny and held out her arms to the side. She looked up to Kane and almost growled.
"Stand your men down this instant!"
The Alexandrian Knights unsheathed their weapons and stood at either side of Garnet, their resolve was absolute. Anyone who knew the Alexandrian and Pluto Knights knew they would protect Queen and country with their life. The all female Alexandria Knights were highly trained and a force to be reckoned with. Garnet stepped backwards so her back was almost touching Manny's chest. She looked over to August with a glare that could kill.
"You will not harm or take this young man anywhere. From this point on he is under the protection of Alexandria. I see the man beyond the company he works for. If any of your men come any closer I will have my knights who are highly trained physically and magically to end this conversation. Stand down Mr Krasnow I will not ask again."

“You have no authority here, girl.” August hissed. He showed no sign of intimidation, unflinching at the Pluto Knight’s aggressive posture. Their swords were nothing to him, relics of an age long past and buried. Their saber rattling with quaint, almost humorous, if it weren't intended to be so serious. He stood resolute, staring down Manny, Garnet and her knights. His hands clasped behind his back. Kane stood tense, like a dog waiting for the command to attack as the tension built to a boiling point till August broke the tension like a hot knife. “But I’ll respect your bravado – Kane, stand down.” August clicked the screen off, the image returning to a weapon schematic. Kane relaxed and stepped back. “You have an odd way to conduct a tour of friendship and peace.”
August returned to his chair, reclining back, relaxed and collected. “Don’t get me wrong though, I find it unsettling that a Queen would cohort with them likes of Turks. It makes me curious to whom else you’re now in bed with: Yevon, Galbadia, Geshtal? A word of warning, choose your allies carefully. These are interesting times, drastic change is in the air – I’d hate to see you left behind in the wreckage of the old world.” He then turned his attention to Manny, chastising him with a scolding claw. “As for you, count your blessings you fell into the good graces of her. I was well aware a Turk had been spotted in Treno and had you not been so lucky, Tseng and the rest of Shinra and her goons would have a fresh new job opening right about now. When you stumble back to Midgar, don’t let them think that my limited compassion is a sign of weakness. The next time any of the Turks cross my company or my path – there won’t be enough left to bury in a sardine can.”
August changed the subject, ruffling a few papers on his desk, giving the group limited attention. “Now that mess is over, are you here only to chat while making a mockery of my office or are you interested in business for Alexandria? Your knights are relics; I have some choice products that would put Alexandria back into the international game.”
They say, "Evil prevails when good men fail to act." What they ought to say is, "Evil prevails."
Manny was quite taken aback by garnet defending him. It was something Manny had never had to face and it worried him more that August threat had. Manny had actually zoned out lost in his thoughts. Then he finally decided that he quite liked this., she must like him. Not that he was entirely used to that ether.
Once he zoned in Manny realized just how close the Queen was and the first thing to enter his not entirely but mostly predictable mind was. Oh, yeah. sexy, sexy time is on. She really likes me. This is great. To be honest he had nearly forgotten August and was preoccupied with his own fantasy, grinning like a Cheshire cat.

She kept her eyes on August and slowly lowered her arms down, Garnet took one step backwards and bumped into Manny. She swiftly turned around and her cheeks flushed a bright pink.
"As Queen of Alexandria I shall do what is best for my country and my people. One person does not represent the whole company, everyone has their own thoughts and feelings. I would suggest in future you refrain from speaking to someone in a superior position the way you just have."
Garnet turned back around to face August. Her heart was beating like a salvation army drum in her chest, this was the most intense and scary moment she had found herself in. Even being held against her will by the Coven didn't compare to squaring up to Mr Krasnow.
"Alexandria could benefit from stronger weapons but I will not bring my country to its knees for you. If we do any sort of business it will be on cival and fair terms. Until that day I bid you a good day Mr Krasnow."
