Ryun looked the creature dead in the eyes, the Fenrir, VS the Behemoth. He was adamant he would not fall, not this time, not ever when it came to protecting the Queen. This he had vowed, and this vow he would keep, since, from his current memory, was the first and only thing he had ever vowed to do.
His eyes did not leave the creature’s not for a second. Ryun held a great deal of respect for Fenrir’s power and ability, but he would not let his respect for the water wolf stop him from protecting the Queen, not even for a second had this passed his mind.
However, it seemed that the creature had finally noticed that the only one within the group who had been dealing damage to it was Ryun, and he knew, that could only spell trouble. Ryun knew, if he fell it could spell the very end for the group, since, it seemed, that he was the only one who was strong enough to actually deal any damage to it.
He did not doubt that both Ice and Shizuma were powerful in their own right. However, Shizuma’s strength did not seem to be enough, and where Ice seemed to be a powerful healer she seemed to have not offensive magics to speak of. He respect the two other, even though he had only known them for a short time, but, their offensive capabilities were not enough that.
The giant finally knew that it would down to him to finish off the creature. However, his strength, it seemed to be waning. He knew that is he was to finish off the creature he would have to do it soon, or, even if he was standing, even his strength would not be enough to defeat it. He hated the idea that his strength would not be enough, however.
Ryun was not arrogant, not by any means, stubborn, strong minded, independent, but not arrogant. The truth was, Ryun, he knew there were stronger forces out there than him. However he only hoped that this day would not be the day he found one of those stronger forces, and he could defeat Fenrir and protect the Queen.
When the attack came he knew there was not time to go through the preparations he had gone through from the last attack. However, something told Ryun that it would not be as strong as the last time, and he hoped he had enough time to deflect or block it.
He took a couple of steps backwards and held his hands out forwards ready for the attack. When it actually came he grunted from the strike as it hit his hands. The force from it actually sent him backwards, skidding across the floor. He knew, if he did not deal with it soon, it might actually hurt him.
So, with every bit of strength he could muster he pushed forwards and threw the water away from him, and the others, making sure, at least that attack, would do not harm. He knew it would not be the last of it, but, at least he had enough chance to attack the creature before his strength depleted.
Without even saying a word he ran at the creature as fast as he could, knowing he did not have the time to do his usual build up. When he reached the creature he slammed into it with a massive right left combo, as he normally did, he doubted it would be the end, but, he hoped the end would come sooner rather than later, because if it was later, he might not be able to win the fight.

The cruel darkness that clouded his vision as he fell to the ground, coupled with the immense pain his whole body was reeling from had incapacitated the young knight. He couldn't equate the feeling to anything as his body became numb up to a point to spare his mind from trying to comprehend what his frame was going through. His last thoughts were solely of being unable to help his new comrades further in their tough battle against the large wolf.
A few short moments later, his eyes shot open as he suddenly found himself waking up from a nightmarish sleep. Being extremely disoriented with a body still writhing in pain, Shizuma's vision began to become clearer as he could see the young Queen looking down at him. It was slowly coming back to him how he got into the state he was currently in, but he was more relieved that she seemed to be in good condition, despite her appearing worried for him. He wanted to say something but it was hard for him to try to form a sentence in between his ragged breath and wincing from the shock of being brought back to consciousness. He made an effort to try and flash a gritty grin to reassure her though, but even smiling came with it's price it seemed.
He could feel her hand was resting on his chest and moving in a tight slow circular motion over his heart. Soon a bright light began to temporarily blind the youth's vision again, but as the light faded he felt completely refreshed as if nothing had happened to him at all. The Kamira clansman's eyes fluttered for a few seconds as he began to breath normally without wincing from any sort of discomfort. He almost had a look of disbelief as his body was in complete agony a few minutes ago, having been saved by the healing touch of the royal he was trying to protect.
Shizuma's cheeks became flushed as she leaned down with a smile and hugged him, leaving the youth at a loss for words at the turn of events. They reddened even further when he realized he was resting in her lap, but he returned the embrace by lightly grasping her shoulder as he rose his upper body up. His question if the beast was gone was answered as he could hear it howling in the background from it's own troubles against Ryun's attacks. As his voice was coming back to him, he humbly thanked Ice for bringing him back as quickly as she did and apologized again for being an inconvenience.
Letting her shoulder go, the youth rose to his feet and rubbed the back of his neck as he tried to gain his composure and calm himself. Once he turned back to the young Queen he held out an extended hand and a warm smile, silently making a vow to himself that he would work hard for the compassion she generously expressed his way.

She wouldn't have stood a chance on her own but she had to thank Gaia that she had been rescued by two gentleman such as Ryun and Shizuma. Monster :: Fenrir
The Beast howled out again, rolling a bit and rubbing at the spot that was just attacked. Growling in pain more then before, blood started to show on it's wound. It would thrash around a bit before regaining it's self enough, water pouring from it's body some. It focused on the whole ground as it set back a bit, crouching as if to pounce, the only difference this time was the water that was pooling around it started to raise and swirl around the beast quickly. It forming a small dome over the creature as it would open it's muzzle, a small light and far more dense ball of water starting to form in it's jaws.
Ionic Pulse Charging :: Defence up :: 1000 words needed to do half damage
As the giant, Ryun, stood there he was breathing heavily. He spat on the floor as he continued to stare down the creature as he suffered from the onslaught Ryun had given it. He did not know how much more strength he had left, but, at the same time, he felt the creature weakening as well, and he knew the battle was coming to an end. With that knowledge he would, somehow, bring up what he needed to end the fight. He knew he needed to use all of his strength to win the fight, but, he wished he could feel that vigour, that spark which would make this fight end without him passing out from overexertion. He looked at the creature in such a way that would make even the most hardened warrior stop for thought, knowing, that that look could spell their very end.
All of a sudden he felt a warmth wash over him. It was a strange feeling, it was like he had felt it before, but, he was unsure where he had felt it, or why he had. Never the less, it was a welcomed one. He looked down as saw a white light wash over him, and the vigour he needed, he wanted, came to him. His body, which seemed to be slouching before, showing signs of fatigue, was no longer there, as so he stood proud, and strong once again. However, he was unsure why. He looked over his shoulder and saw the reason, Garnet, she had used a healing spell on him, well, he assumed so. He was grateful to the young monarch, and he would show that gratitude by defeating the creature in front of them.
He may not have been injured, but the warmth and strength he got from the spell was exactly what he needed. As stated before, the strength and vigour he needed to win the fight came back to him in such an intense way, it actually moved him. As spent a few moments looking at the queen a rare thing happened, he smiled at Ice. The smile was slight, but it was clear it was there, and, in a way, it was both sweet, and charming. The smile did something that also rarely happened. His usual harsh and almost emotionless expression left him, and he when he smiled, the fact he was still a youth, only eighteen years old, became perfectly clear.
After he smiled at Ice, Ryun turned back to the creature. His entire body had not moved; in fact, the only thing that had turned to Ice was his head and his shoulders slightly. So, when turning back, it was still slow, but, menacing and almost mechanical. The expression his face, had gone from a youthful, and sweet smile but it his harsh and somewhat emotionless expression. Ryun, as stated before, rarely smiled, and even when he did smile, it was only on his face for a few moments. That was the reason why, when people saw Ryun smile; they were surprised about how youthful he actually looked.
He looked at it as it was just gathering itself. The way the creature had been reacting seemed like it was going wild with rage and pain. Ryun could understand, the creature had pushed him as hard as Ryun had push Fenrir. Never the less, it had seemed the last two attacks had really done a number on the creature, which answered his question about why it had not attacked. Fenrir had been trying to gather his senses, for what Ryun could only assume was his next series of attacks. Ryun knew he would have to do the same, if not, if he let up even for a second, it would be the end for him and the people with him.
However the next thing that happened made Ryun realise something. Water seemed to be pouring from the creature and more so there was a massively dense ball of water forming in its mouth. The creature seemed to be building up for his next attack, and Ryun knew, within the next for moves, this fight was going to end, one way or another. He knew, if that water hit them it would be the end of the fight, and not in a good way. Ryun was determined, he was certain about what he had to do. He would not lose, not to this creature, not on that day; he had fought too hard to lose to it. He took a stance, getting ready for his own finishing blows.
The stance he was on was one of determination and aggression, with his legs shoulder width apart with his right foot in front of his left. His knees were bent slightly, so, when he had to, he could launch himself hard and fast. His fists were raised similar to that of a boxer with his strong hand by his head and his weaker fist out in front. His fists were massive, boulder like, and sported the blood on the creature, as did his face, as the blood had spattered onto it. This was him in a true fighting stance; this was him getting ready for the battle to finish, one way or another. He was not a skilled fighter in the way he knew hundreds of moves, but, he knew how to fight. It was not fancy in any way, but he could use this way to defeat creatures like the one in front of him.
Without a word he charged in. He moved with as much speed as he had, which, in retrospect, was not much, but for a guy his size he was moving like he was lightning incarnate. When he got into striking range he aimed a massive left hook, smashing it into the side of the head. Within seconds he brought around his right hand for a right hook on the opposite side of the face. However, he had not brought his hands back. With his hands on the side of Fenrir’s head he grabbed it by the ears. He the pulled his neck back and brought his head forward smashing it against Fenrir’s. When it connected, it sounded like a cannon going off. He staying in that position before stepping backwards a few steps, his heavy breathing returned. (Word Count: 1,055)

Turning his focus onto Fenrir, Shizuma looked on as the beast seemed to be really taking a toll from their mostly silent ally, Ryun. It was staggering about, howling as it desperately tried gather itself and work through the pain that was obviously affecting it greatly. The Kamira clansman knew what was to come though as he leaned forward and narrowed his eyes at Fenrir's movements. He knew when such ferocious creatures realized they were being backed into a corner, they usually would make a last ditch effort to lash out at their would be captors.
The water that seemingly flowed around the large wolf was beginning to accumulate to a much larger degree, but there was more to it. It seemed to actually begin coating the beast's fur as a protective shield which made the swordsman clench his teeth. He had difficulty beforehand trying to get in an attack and failed due to the power difference between them. It went without saying he couldn't even get close now, but he was more concerned with how Ryun could respond to this. He seemed to be the only one who could effectively damage the beast and if he couldn't break through that barrier, they would all be in trouble.
Not only was it bolstering it's defenses, inside it's jaw a small amount of energy was beginning to grow as it was most definitely charging. Shizuma began to measure his breathing to relax his frame, this was the attack that he was expecting before. Fenrir was definitely getting ready to call on its trump card and now it was only a matter of time before it could unleash the attack.
Watching Ice heal Ryun in a similar white light that helped get him back on his feet, he looked on as the tall warrior rushed forward and performed a successful series of strikes to break through the water barrier their opponent set up. With a powerful three-hit combo ended with a deafening headbutt, Shizuma's eyes widened as he wondered if that was enough to put the beast down finally.

{Turn 1: She was tired. Garnet could feel that her legs were starting to weaken under the pressure of the battle. Tiny beads of sweat had formed on her forehead and across her back, she glanced between Ryun and Shizuma who were preparing for the next attack. Garnet knew her defense against magic was strong for someone of her age and experience but there was that chance the attack would be physical. Since she wasn't a physical fighter Garnet crossed her arms over her chest and pulled her body in tight. She would do her best to defend herself agaisnt what ever the creature was going to through at them. Garnet tries to block - Defence doubled 200 Def.}

Monster :: Fenrir The beast was ready to fire the pulse it was gathering when Ryun came at it once more, it thought little of the attack that was impending until the hits barely broke through. When the headbutt caught it across it's forehead, it's body would seem to stiffen. The water covering it's form rippling some as the highly compressed orb it held in it's mouth would break down, water pouring from it's muzzle and across the ground, the watery dome that it had surrounded it's self doing the same as the warm liquid would wash outwards across the ground and over their feet.
The portals would start closing one by one with small pops sounding to the air, The largest one that Fenrir had come through to begin with would go last, but not before a cloaked figure stepped through it. Ignoring the trio as it moved to Fenrir, placing a hand on it with a shake of it's head. The figure would step away, wandering back to the portal it had just come out of as Fenrir's own body began melting away like the water it controlled. This new figure though paused long enough to look at the trio, taking in their faces before stepping through the portal just as it would close.

Two Fang's of Fenrir were left behind from the beast, both laying on the ground. Who gets one is up to you three, and may be used in a later thread.
Ryun watched as the following events unfolded. As normal, he did not say a word as he watch the beast, Fenrir, the creature that had pushed him to his very limits, and, if Ryun was even the slightest bit weaker, would lost to, stiffen and finally fall. He felt sorry for the creature, but, if he had not fallen Fenrir would have killed Ryun, Garnet and Shizuma. He was honoured to fight such a powerful creature. Along with that, Ryun knew he had to become stronger, if there were any creatures out there stronger than the one he had just faced, he would not be the victor that time.
When a cloaked figure stepped through the large portal Fenrir had come out of Ryun’s eyes darted and locked onto the figure. His eyes did not leave him for a second, hoping the man was not there to fight them, because, Ryun had little strength left after his fight against the water wolf. However, as the cloaked man placed his hand on Fenrir and shook his head he wondered, was this man the powerful creature’s master? When the man walked away Ryun felt a wave of relief hit him until the cloaked figure stopped and looked at them. When the man’s eyes were on him Ryun did not look away, he would not show fear, or weakness.
However, the man finally stepped through the portal and the water wolf melted away. When this happened, as soon as the large portal was closed Ryun fell to one knee and his breathing was heavier than it had been. When he knee hit the floor his muscles seemed to shrink. True, they were still larger than most men could hope to have, but they had noticeably lessened in size. He wiped his brow and slowly got up, his legs a little shaky from the amount of energy and power he had used to fight the thing. He slowly turned around to the other two, “It is done.”
Watching the beast reel back after Ryun's final blow, Shizuma clenched his right fist and grinned at the trio's victory. He knew he hadn't helped too much in the long run of things, but he felt his magic helped give his allies the edge this time around. In the back of his mind though, he wondered if he spent too much of his stamina to do so. He had hardly any magical energy left to spend, but then again he knew magic wasn't exactly his specialty either when it came down to combat.
As Fenrir crumbled to the ground, water dissipating from it's form, Shizuma looked towards the young Queen and nodded with a smile before beginning to walk over to Ryun to thank him for the tremendous effort he put forth to get them out of that jam. It seemed each of them had their own strength, although the gunblade user found his own rather lacking when it came to his actual expertise. It was a hard thing to accept still, but he would decide to keep the memory of their fight as a reminder of why he pushed himself to become stronger. Perhaps the next time he could stand on the front line alongside warriors like Ryun, but for the time being he would have to bide his time and play the supportive role.
As the Kamira clansman got closer to his silent ally, he took note of all the rifts that had appeared with the wolf were disappearing one by one. He wasn't sure what to make of it just yet, but he hoped that was a good thing as he stuffed his hands in his jacket pockets and breathed a slight sigh of relief. It was a new sensation for the youth as he almost felt like he was just along for the ride that was leading in a place he never expected. He couldn't remember traveling like this before, but there was a lot of other things he couldn't remember as well. The closer their journey came to reaching the memorial, the more Shizuma began to feel anxious as if he were falling into some sort of trap.
He knew the dangers of triggering his memories could backfire on him, making him relive something his mind may have blocked from his consciousness on purpose. Yet, he couldn't shake that vision of losing his childhood friend, his determination to never feel that way ever again about someone he truly cared for. He hadn't known his current traveling companions for long, but after fighting a tough battle as he did, he had grown to appreciate the opportunity he had ahead of him. No matter what he might discover, the knight that pledged to lend his services to the new Queen. That he knew he would definitely do, making sure she would get safely back home, but he wondered if that was truly his place.
Doubts began to creep around the edges of his mind, whether he was worthy of the honor to complete such a task. Would his companions be as accepting if they saw the things that haunted him and knew he was responsible for such atrocities? He didn't know for sure if he had committed those murders, but he couldn't rule out the possibility that he did either. He had to remember that they knew just as much about his past as he did, and were willing to accept his help for now. In reality he could have a clean slate and start over, but he knew it would bug him if he didn't push onwards. Making the decision with all the facts known would put him at ease, one way or another.
Once he made it to Ryun, the last portal that beast crawled through remained open as a strange cloaked figure made their appearance as well. The youth narrowed his eyes, but kept his hands in his pockets as he watched the figure make their way over to the fallen creature and placing their hand on its head. Multiple questions began to run around the youth's brain as he wondered what they were up to and their relationship with the wolf, but whatever was going on the trio seemed to be out of danger's way.
It appeared they were giving their farewell's to Fenrir, but they paused at the gateway to stare each of them down as if they were taking mental notes. Shizuma couldn't say he was pleased with the vibe he got from the stranger, but he had no choice but to accept it and watch them go back to wherever they came from.
As soon as the final gate closed, the swordsman noticed Ryun drop down momentarily to catch his breath. He didn't realize how much it took out of the silent warrior as he even seemed to lessen in size a bit. The man of a few words commented on their situation which made the youth place both of his hands on the back of his head and let out a small laugh.
"Great teamwork everyone! Good thing that weird guy left all with those portals, not sure if I could handle three battles back to back." the youth commented himself, grinning with a bit of sarcasm. By his expression you could almost swear he wanted to go another round, but he dropped his hands and placed them on his hips with a solid nod.
Scanning the area, he noticed there were some decent size objects left where Fenrir had been slain and walked over to them. Crouching down to expect them, his eyes widened at seeing the beast had lost two of its fangs. Shizuma scratched his head and wondered just how hard Ryun had hit the beast to knock these things out, but it didn't matter seeming as the warrior seemed to be recovering alright. Picking them both up, he walked back over to his companions with a fang in each hand and shrugged his shoulders.
"Anyone want a souvenir for our troubles?" he asked looking between Ice and Ryun to see if they would like a memento of the beast. He had no problem with handing them over, but if none were interested he definitely would take at least one. It could end up being useful later on, for at least a keepsake if nothing else.

Garnet let out a loud sigh and relaxed her body once the danger to their lives had vanished. She noticed from the corner of her eye that Ryun had collapsed to one knee. Without even thinking about it she ran to his side scooping up her white and red cloak. She placed a hand onto his shoulder as he returned to his feet. With an almightly leap she did her best to place her cloak over the tall man's shoulders.
"Oh Ryun are you alright?"
Garnet felt geniunely distressed for Ryun and even Shizuma. She had to bring him back to life in essence and that couldn't have been an easy transition to go through. Garnet stepped back and looked over to Shizuma who had offered one of the beast's fangs as a memento. Her face scrunched up and a look of disdain washed over her small face.
"Oh...I think I will pass but thank you Shizuma. Both of you...thank you for your kindness and protection. I will see that you are rewarded for your troubles. Let us carry onto the Sorceress Memorial."
She looked back at Shizuma and quickly looked away. The young Queen felt so many different emotions coarsing through her that it was hard to keep under control. Her hormones were starting to go a bit haywire since she was only sixteen. She placed her weapon back in its holster on her back. The Sorceress Memorial wasn't too far away but it was still a decent walk. Maybe it was nonsense that the memorial could possibly hold the key to gaining back her summoning powers. Or just perhaps it could be the one place she may get them back.
Ryun looked at the young queen and nodded as a way of saying thanks for her concern, but he was alright. The robe on him actually looked quite funny, the item of clothing which covered her entire body barely covered the area on his back between his shoulder blades. However, not wanting to insult her offer of kindness, he wore it none the less, no matter how ridiculous he looked, or felt, wearing it..
When she set off he was about to, but soon stopped and looked at Shizuma. The items he was holding, two of them, were quite interesting in appearance. Since Ice did not want one he reached over and took one for himself. That site was quite funny as well, since his hand pretty much engulfed both items and Shizuma’s hand as well. He looked at the other would be protector of the queen and gave him the same nod of gratitude he gave Garnet.
After he had nodded at Shizuma he opened a small, well, small looking compared to him, pouch and placed the item in it. There were three more items in the pouch, one was a few gold gil, the second one was a potion. However, the third one was a bit odd, it was, if someone took a close look at it, and knew about the area he came from, a sphere. Ryun did not know how to operate it, and believed it to be broken, however, he kept it, hoping one day it might lead him to regain some if not all of his memories.
With the fang stored in the pouch he turned to Ice who was already ahead of him. He followed her and with three or four strides he was by her side again. He remembered what she had said about being rewarded, and, something rare happened, he spoke more than two or three words, “Ice... There is no need for a reward... Protecting you is a reward in itself... However... If you wish it... I would like to become one of your knights... I'm not sure why... But something in my blood demands it of me.”
Post by Shizuma Kamira on Oct 13, 2012 18:42:14 GMT
The young swordsman nodded to both of his companions as Ryun opted to take one of the wolf's teeth while the queen decided to pass on having the other. He didn't question her wishes, but he certainly felt a bit guilty for making her worry and bringing about a face of dissatisfaction in the object he offered. Taking the available fang, he placed it under his red jacket and patted it down.
When he looked up he noticed the Queen had moved on ahead and Ryun rushed after her to continue onto the memorial. Shizuma paused for a moment, turning his head to look back in the direction of the city to reflect or at least try to remember something that would ease his mind of what he could discover ahead.
The nightmares he had and the visions he would occasionally get upon making contact with certain people and things, would they all begin to stop? That question ran through his mind as he studied the skyline of the technological metropolis, but he wondered at what cost. The notion of not liking what he might find or maybe not even finding anything at all bothered him, yet he would make the attempt to stay positive. He knew he was in a different place now and he had a chance to correct things to be how he wanted them.
Turning back to his companions who had made a decent advance, Shizuma hurried to join the other side of the young monarch. Reaching behind his head with both hands, he casually walked as if he had no care in the world, a faint smile tracing his lips. However, his eyes spoke a different story as they seemed almost in a dazed state. Each step was a further push into unknown territory, but keeping himself focused on guarding Ice with Ryun would hopefully keep his mind preoccupied from unwanted thoughts.

She stuttered for a few moments as she tried to find the words to respond. It was true they had only know each other not even a few hours but if he felt this strongly about becoming a Knight of Alexandria then who was she to crush someones wants and possibly dreams.
"Then once we have observed the Memorial we shall make haste for Alexandria, Shizuma may of course accompany us if he has no other plans."
Queen Garnet bowed only slightly to acknowledge Ryun and then Shizuma. She shot them a bright smile before walking at some pace in the general direction of the Sorceress Memorial. If you squinted your eyes you could see the building from where they stood. It really was a fool's hope to think that the Sorceress Memorial held the key to gaining her summoning powers once more. As she walked to the Memorial Garnet began to hum that all too familar tune she knew from her past. Her mother didn't sing it to her and nor did her father. Garnet then looked back to Shizuma and Ryun and smiled. Two very capable and quite cute guys at her side. She slapped herself mentally for letting her thoughts run away like that but...oh why couldn't she just have a normal life.
Ryun nodded in thanks. It was true what he had said, he wanted to become one of her knights. He had no idea why, but, something in his blood, no his soul, demanded it off him. It was like his strength, his vast, and unyielding strength, was not meant to attack, but to protect people.
He saw the Queen, she was strong, in her own right, but, something about her wanted Ryun to do nothing but hold her and take any attack that would come her way, to protect her, even at the cost of his own life. He found it strange, he felt like that, but, at the same time, it felt right.
Walking along side the Queen, in his usual silence, he kept his eyes open. True, he suspected that the worst of it was done, after defeating Fenrir, but, at the same time, he would not let them fall, not since they had come so far. However, when she commented on the fact she found the structure strange he spoke, "All things foreign seem strange at first."

With the memorial coming into view as the trio made their advance and gained some distance towards it, Shizuma could feel his heart begin to pump faster. He only got that feeling normally when he was getting ready to join a battle or perhaps do something very dangerous. It made him gulp hard at the feeling he was getting and exhale slowly to try to gather himself. Was this a sense of fear that was overtaking him or perhaps just some previously unnoticed nerves? Either way the swordsman didn't enjoy the sensation in the slightest...
He could hear his companions discussing something and all he could do was merely nod in agreement, his eyes remaining fixated on the structure ahead. It was like he was in his own world as his eyes still had a glazed over appearance to them, almost as if he were sleep walking. His arms dropped to his side as his carefree pace began to slow as if his boots had filled with sand, until he came to a complete stop.
The youth tilted his head down with a pained visage as if he were trying to fight off a migraine, slowly raising his gloved right hand to his forehead to move away a few of his bangs. Slightly rubbing his head for a few moments, the Kamira clansman attempted to shake off the sleepy state he was falling into and rose his head again. The memorial ahead had a blurry appearance as if it had become shrouded in darkness. The more the youth tried to blink his eyes, his vision became worse as the pitch blackness ahead began to blanket everything. His eyes widened with fear as he remembered this particular event happening, but only in one of his more vivid nightmares.
To his companions the youth just seemed to be frozen in his tracks, with his arms at his side, breathing normally, but just standing abnormally still. In his mind, Shizuma was frantically looking for the queen and his silent ally, hoping they were okay until that haunting voice began to call out to him from the darkness that had swallowed his frame whole. It was a voice he had come to detest in his time of being within Esthar, although he couldn't remember who it belonged to and why it shook him to his core. One thing he did realize was it belonged to someone powerful, someone he felt he had no chance against in a one on one situation, maybe even with the current group he was with.
Within the darkened world he found himself within, Shizuma began to walk forward looking side to side for anything or anyone to appear. The voice that had called his name had died to a whisper, until two large hands seemed to grab both of his shoulders from behind. He desperately wanted to break free from their grip, but he couldn't move one inch nor could he speak any coherent words as he tried to make whoever it was announce who they were and what they wanted with him.
Almost if on cue, the being that held him still began to laugh mockingly and menacingly behind him. The Kamira clansman swore he could feel their eyes burning a hole into the back of his head as they did so. He could sense them kneeling down as they pressed upon his shoulders and tightened their grip to make the youth grimace in pain, knowing he was helpless at this point.
"I will never let you forget about me..." they spoke in a threatening matter, emphasizing it by intensifying their claw-like hands that felt as if they would tear into Shizuma's skin any second.
Within an instant the youth had been released from his trance and quickly gripped his left shoulder with a pale face of horror. His whole body was shaking from the experience, as a cold sweat began to roll down his back making his spine tingle. When he was within the city he never had an experience like that which felt so life like, and so he could only conclude that where he was going was unfortunately the right place. Whoever they were that had a hold on him, whatever strength they had seemed to have an connection with the memorial ahead, that was the only explanation he could formulate that made sense.
His teeth clenched as a look of fiery anger began to show in his blue eyes, taking a few steps forward towards his companions and their destination. He wasn't going to let them bother him any further than they already had, that he would stake his life on. It was tough as it was not knowing what happened to him, but he was determined to not let his past rule his future now, not without a fight.

For a split moment she forgot the danger they had all endured and that she wasn't alone. Running off on her own wasn't the best idea but there was something about the Sorceress Memorial that pulled her to it. As the young Queen approached the doors she looked up at the structure.
"This is....quite the structure. I wonder why there are no guards here..."
Garnet could feel her heart beating in her chest, she placed her right hand over her crystal necklace and closed her eyes. Her mind became awash of the past events and why she no longer could summon Alexander the guardian of Alexandria.
"I can...sense that a lot of magical power has passed through here.."
As Garnet started to move quicker, so did Ryun. However, when she moved into a sprint, he kept at a reasonable pace. He was not going to try and run with her, but, at the pace he was going he was making sure of two things. The first of these things was that she was within eyesight at all times. The second thing was that, if he need to, he could get to her to defend within a few long strides.
Ryun was not paying much attention to the structure itself, his mind was preoccupied with both making sure Garnet was safe, and, if they had to make a hasty retreat, making sure he remembered where they had gone, and where to turn and which way. He did not know why, but protecting the queen just felt right, like he was meant to protect, if not her, then someone.
However, as Garnet, and therefore, Ryun slowed there pace he looked around. He had to admit, as Ice commented on the structure, he had to agree with her. It was a magnificent structure. However, what she said next, about guards, or lack there of, got his back up a bit. He agreed, he also wondered why, and found it strange, the there were no guards in sight. However, instead of wondering why, a strange feeling washed over him.
With the strange feeling he walked up to the side of the queen to make sure he could protect her, just in case his bad feeling was right, he hoped it was not, but, he rather be alive if his feeling was right. He looked at the queen for a moment before looking over to Shizuma. The look on Ryun’s face was that of concern, and he hoped Shizuma understood that he should be on guard as well. Like stated before, he rather be alive if his feeling was right.

Keeping a steady pace moving forward towards the large structure, Shizuma kept his teeth clenched with a determined glare. He watched as the young queen rushed on ahead to the memorial with Ryun following in hot pursuit after her. Although the swordsman was keeping a steady pace, his boots felt like they were filled with lead upon every step. That vision he had just experienced crossed the line for him between what he thought would only occur when he was dreaming, not while he was clearly wide awake.
Once the Kamira clansman caught up with his companions, he could hear the former princess bring up the interesting topic of the lack of security. Shizuma was expecting someone or something else to be within the vicinity, but as she said there seemed to be nothing around to greet them. He wasn't sure if he should be relieved at that or disappointed, slightly grasping at his left shoulder and rubbing it gently upon being so close to the memorial. He could tell that Ryun was on edge too, mostly for his concerned look as he watched over the young maiden they both swore to help.
As she broke the silence again, commenting on the fact that she could sense a large amount of magical energy had come through this area, Shizuma began to furrow his brow at those words. This place, he knew he had studied it before as part of his training and only now was he slowly making connections. Looking down at the ground and trying to think back to what he had learned about from his past, he finally latched onto what the structure was called in the first place. A memorial for Sorceress's, beings that had extraordinary magical capabilities and were feared for their prowess in the arcane arts.
Stepping closer to the structure, Shizuma let go of his shoulder and touched the monument with his right hand as he closed his eyes and began to concentrate. As if releasing a dark seal that had been blocking his memories, the Kamira clansman began to remember it all so rapidly. He began to recall growing up as an orphan in the Garden of Balamb with his friends that he cherished and losing the one he cared for the most on a significant day in his life upon joining the ranks of SeeD. It was amazing to him that so much of his life was sealed away, but as he kept his touch on the memorial his history became even clearer as to why he left Balamb and ended up in Esthar.
Opening his eyes and looking directly up into the sky, Shizuma fully realized who had been tormenting him and what he had done and become in their service. He stayed silent as he came to grips with those visions of dead Estharians he saw, innocent people he had slain for the sake of himself and his partner who had to take service for an evil tyrant. Despite justifying it at the time as a survival decision, Shizuma knew once he had gone through with that raid on the place he had considered home for so long, fighting former friends and betraying his Headmaster, he had become just as corrupt as the individual that was still imprisoned in space now.
"....Adel...." was the name he spoke softly aloud, lowering his head and taking his hand off the memorial and slowly backing away from it.
A cold sensation overtook the blond's frame as it made sense why he had an Estharian patch in his possession along with such a unique gunblade that oozed magical enhancement over technological. He had done such unspeakable acts for power, the power that killed his best friend and effectively changed his life from that point forward. He gave his heart to evil for a selfish ambition of vengeance, eagerly wanting to learn from the Sorceress who gave him an opportunity to become stronger under her guidance. He remembered how he got to this Esthar, falling into a trap designed for the one he swore his allegiance to, and his heart became heavy as he wondered how his partner from Balamb was faring still stuck there. He had committed such atrocities initially to keep the both of them safe as he knew they were no match for such a powerful being on their own.
He didn't realize how tightly he was clenching both of his fists thinking back to those events, feeling powerless in his current situation. The probability of finding a way back to his partner's side to make sure she was safe was slim to none, which was unsettling and possibly a big factor as to why his mind sealed off those memories. He felt he was no different than a cold-blooded murderer now though, the exact opposite of how he had intended his goal of becoming a SeeD to be. A sigh escaped his lips as he hung his head for a moment after speaking the Sorceress' name and then rose it to face his new allies.
The only thing Shizuma could take solace in was the fact that he was fiercely loyal to protecting those he cared for, that was something that had not been corrupted by following in Adel's wishes. The blood on his hands would never wash off, but he could work to redeem himself by trying to follow a benevolent leader like the young Queen that stood before him. The thought of going back to Balamb was no longer an option in his mind at all as it would only remind him of the cruel past that he led.
The Kamira clansman wanted to be done of this place as soon as possible, having finally come to terms with his past. However, he had to acknowledge that he only came here originally for Garnet's sake. He might not have even made it this far without running into her and Ryun back in Esthar, perhaps a further sign that his new companions could lead him off the dark trail he had been following. Rubbing the back of his neck with a sheepish smile, he slowly felt the burden of his past slipping away at the thought of truly starting anew.
"I'd like to lend my strength to you officially as well once we get you back to Alexandria safely. That is if you'll have me and we find what you're looking for here first..." Shizuma firmly nodded with a confident eagerness in his tone.

She jumped back a little but took a deep breath and stepped inside. It was dark inside as though it had been abandoned. Esthar surely wouldn't let a place like this go into ruin. As Garnet made her way inside she looked upon a device in the centre of the room.
"From what I have read in books....this place is used to imprison women who are Sorceresses. Or dangerous ones..."
That was a sad thought that perhaps innocent women had been imprisoned here in the past. Garnet shook her head and looked to Ryun and Shizuma. It struck her at that moment that Shizuma had spoken to her earlier and she had ignored him. Garnet turned to face him with her cheeks still a bright pink colour. Shizuma was invoking something with Garnet that she wasn't sure of as did Ryun. Both men offering their protection to her even though they had just met.
"I would be honoured to have you by my side Shizuma.."
Ryun stood there as the doors opened, seemingly by themselves. This unnatural thing made the half giant’s hand clench into massive, boulder like, balls. He did not like this, however, Garnet wished to learn what was inside and he would not stop her. However, he would also not let her get hurt, not as long as he drew breath. It suddenly dawned on him, how much he wanted to see her safe, which he found a little strange considering he had only just met her.
Thoughts of the past, well, lack there of came to mind, but something struck him, a memory it broke through. It was blurry, and slight broken, but, that word, Sin Spawn, it was heard. He was standing on a boat with two other people by his side. Then he looked over his shoulder and saw a woman in strange Garb holding a staff. What shook him was, the woman, she looked awfully like Garnet. However, the memory stopped there.
Shaking his head he suddenly realised that Garnet had entered the main chamber. He pushed to memory to one side and followed her in. As he got in he heard what she had said but did not reply, feeling he did not need to, or, at least, it was not his place to make a comment. Looking around he saw the giant machine and something slipped out of his mouth which surprised him, “Cursed Machina.” He had no idea where that had come from, however, he pushed it aside.

As the youth dropped his arm from the back of his neck after offering to enlist as a Knight of Pluto along with Ryun, he watched the young Queen touch the memorial which immediately reacted to her. Shizuma was a bit shocked at first at it moving to her touch, but it was more so for how sudden it was. Was it because she had such strong magic capabilities? After all, her nation had been attacked because of that very fact wasn't it?
With his memories returned, he remembered the words of his former Headmaster informing him of this place and it's function. It was also part of the written exams he used to take back in the Garden in order to qualify for the final field exams. One had to know a decent amount about each continent as a SeeD in order to be effective, but the blond swordsman knew his time as a mercenary of Balamb was far over. He couldn't see himself returning there ever again, especially with the purpose of SeeD being to combat Sorceresses. In that eternal struggle, he had made his choice to side with Adel, although for a valid reason of survival for him and his partner, it was clear his allegiance with the Garden had been shattered when he personally led a raid against his former home in the Sorceress' name.
As he followed Ryun and the Garnet inside the structure, he listened to the young maiden's words which confirmed his teachings on the memorial. He nodded in agreement, with a disgusted smile on his face as he thought of the most dangerous being he had came into service of. He felt momentarily conflicted if he should inform the Queen that he had been associated with someone like Adel. His expression however quickly changed to a more cheerful appearance once she actually looked his way and responded to his offer.
He heard Ryun speak something odd as he moved ahead to check to see if things were clear for the one they both wished to protect. Rubbing his chin with his left hand, he felt his larger ally wasn't too far off about this memorial. It obviously still had some lingering effects from the beings that passed through here once they were imprisoned as he felt that first hand.
"I have no doubt that this place has bad vibes about it, but hopefully it's safe since it appears relatively unguarded..." Shizuma commented, letting go of his chin as he began to look around himself.
Even as the trio had made their way to the monument, the memorial that supposedly detained many a strong sorceress. It took a slow few seconds though as the door they had entered slowly slid shut, once closed fully and sealed with a low thump sound filling the air. Darkness engulfing the interior of the main room as silence held the area as well, in the darkness a small light would glow in the center of the room illuminating a small circular area as it would grow dim the brighten once more repeatedly.
The air within the room would slowly start to warm up, a new scent filling the area of tree's almost as if a forest was surrounding them all. The marker in the center of the room continued to give off it's pulse of light softly, but as it fell dark once and lit again the light cast around shown grass having grown thickly around it. Another two minutes would pass in the darkness with only the monument to light the area, Suddenly light filtering into the room but showing a forest to be surrounding them all. The light seemingly from the sun above even if it was false, a very good illusion pulled off in the best fashion had taken the area. Tall tree's with bases roughly 12 feet in diameter seeming to stretch to the stars hidden above, as well as into the distance around them for miles upon miles. The crunch of some underbrush would be the only other break in the sound of the forest that they seemed to have been transported to, the one causing the noise stepping from behind a tree to look directly at them.
Ah.. hello and welcome! You seem to have stumbled into my forest.... for that do you have but a small token for passage through this realm? After all I take stance to guard against the possibility of some beings who should never be set free... and you three... most certainly have off set the balance by comming here....
The Fox like male would hold out a hand towards them, as if waiting for some form of payment to be bestowed to his flesh, but his eyes never leaving them as his tail would sway slowly behind himself.
Do be quick, I do not have all day to play with you trivial beings..

She looked around and noticed that they weren't in the monument anyway or at least appeared not to be. Once the young man....well fox like man had appeared from behind one of the trees Garnet jumped slightly bumping into Shizuma. Her cheeks flushed briefly before she shot her attention back to the man. In an almost indirect way he appeared to be quite authorative especially when he held his hand out. It was almost like he wanted some sort of payment...
Queen Garnet cleared her throat and took several steps forward. She was scared yes but she knew she had to take charge as the most senior person amongst her group. Her regal status may actually hold some ground...wherever they were.
"We do not mean to cause any upset here, we are unsure ourselves as to why we have been transported here. I am Queen Garnet of Alexandria and if it is gold you seek I am afraid we have none to offer. We mean you no harm..."
Ryun stood there as the darkness, came, even though he looked calm and collected, his mind was racing, making an attempt to see anything within the darkness. He could only see Garnet and Shizuma, but anything else, if there was anything else, could not be seen. He was worried, he was still suffering from the battle with wolf creature, and he did not know if he had to strength to fight something that powerful again.
However, when the darkness went he saw they were in a forest terrain, and his eyes darted around to see if there was anything. He knew that powerful magic was involved in this, well, he assumed. Ryun was strong and tough, but, his ability at fighting magic was limited if he had any at all. He hoped whatever came out would not wish to harm them, or, at the very least, only mischievous but not malicious. He doubted it, but one could only hope.
When the man, who seemed to share features were a fox step into view Ryun’s eyes fixed on him. His hands did not clench, he did not trust the creature, however, just in case fighting could be avoided he did not want to do anything that could provoke it. Then he asked for a token so they could pass through his forest. He stood there and was about to step forward when Garnet did instead and spoke herself. However, what she said made him smile, something told him that the fox spirit was in interested in gold.
He was not sure what the fox creature wanted, well, at first at least. It suddenly dawn on him that it might be the fangs he was after. However, he remained silent, not making a move. He would not make a move to his bag. If by chance the creature wanted the fangs he was giving the other two, Shizuma to be more exact, the chance to realise this. He had shone in the fight against the wolf creature, he was giving Shizuma the chance to shine that time around.

Having overcome a lot so far just to make it the memorial, Shizuma found himself in another tough situation with his companions inside the structure. Not only did he see the door they entered shut behind them to temporarily put them in darkness, he now found himself in a forest-like area with a strange male with fox-like ears wanting some sort of payment. His hand was out, waiting impatiently for something to be put in it.
The young Queen questioned if it was gold that the fox-eared male would want, which by his face it didn't appear that way. Looking over to Ryun, it seemed the two guardians had an idea of what it was this being was looking for, which he hoped was the fangs of the giant wolf they had all defeated. Although that would be convenient, Shizuma wasn't sold on what the being was telling them.
After all, they hadn't intentionally wanted to come to this realm in the first place, it just seemingly happened out of nowhere. Would he be some sort of guide through this thick forest the trio found themselves in or would he leave them stuck here? However, he realized that time was not on their side as the fox-like being seemed very impatient.
Stepping in front of the Queen after nodding to Ryun, Shizuma brought out the fang he was carrying underneath his jacket, but didn't place it in the beings hands. Instead he held it tightly at his side with a serious look. He wanted to confirm something before just handing over the potential token of passage.
"We have at least one more of these fangs to give you for safe passage for all of us through this...forest. Would that be an acceptable exchange?" the Kamira clansman questioned with a raised brow. He made sure to emphasize that all of them would come under no harm, yet he was hesitant to demand more out of the fox-like youth. It was hard to swallow, but he had to admit to himself that the three of them were once again in a tough spot.
He wasn't against parting with the fang, but not if it meant that someone had to be left behind or that all of them would be stuck in this new realm without a way of getting the Queen back home safely. They had just came from a tough battle and if they could avoid another that would be great, but it would mostly be dependent on this fox-eared gatekeeper.
He could guess that they didn't realize they were still within the monument, his tails flicking some as the princess stepped forward and began to speak up first. explaining that they didn't know why they had been transported to where they currently were. When she went onto mention that they had no gold to pay for their passage, he'd chuckle a bit, a grin on his lips. His eyes roaming over her somewhat then to the two Guardians, the larger of which not seeming to take a stand in the conversation with his own words more then stepping to make sure the princess was unharmed. He dropped his hand, stretching as his tail flicked lightly behind himself, reaching the hand up to run through his hair when Shizuma began to speak out as well, seeming to pull out an item to pay for their passage through the realm.
Hrmm Fenrir Fangs.. magical usually used in producing fine blades.. but.. in their current state, not much of any use to myself. I'll take that as meaning you don't have any payment otherwise to be free from here... Very well then, we'll go with testing you all..
Tilting his head with a few noticeable pop's filling the air he was still grinning as he eyed the three of them, having taken note of the two males and how they held a more protective stance an aura over the young female. He had to guess they were very fond of her, or charged to protect her. Either of which would make this an interesting test.
So shall we set the stage for this test? Who shall go first?
As he mentioned setting the stage for the test, the entire region would shift, darkness causing the light to flicker out before it returned as if shown down upon by many lights. They were soon enough standing in what looked like an arena, still an illusion but the stands were empty and Garnet when the lights returned, was placed behind caged bars. little rune like lights flashing along the ground around them and seemingly attached to the cage.
I'm to assume this little Lady means quite a lot to you two.. but to what lengths are you willing to go to for her and her safety? would you go so far as to having to injure each other, or even her to be able to save her?
He walked around the cage putting himself between them and it, ears flicking but that grin still holding to his features.

Her tiny frame bounced back and forth while trying to pull the bars back, she squinted her eyes and cried out when her attempts at failed. Garnet dropped her hands back to her side and listened to what the kitsune had to say. He was cocky sure enough and being young and still quite impressionable Garnet responded as a sixteen year old girl would.
"Don't you dare harm them! Ryun! Shizuma! Don't fall for any tricks of his!"
The last thing that needed to happen was Ryun and Shizuma to hurt themselves trying to protect her, this was not the reason she came to Esthar for. Queen Garnet closed her eyes and took a deep breath before stepping forward. She pulled her magic staff from its holster and held it in one hand. She opened her dark hazel eyes and looked directly to the stranger. In her most serious and professional voice she addressed him.
"As Queen of Alexandria I order you to release me from this cage, if you do not the Alexandria army will be set upon you and your land because of your actions today!"
Ryun stood there in silence, as he almost always did. So, his belief the fangs would appease the fox creature was false, that he did not like. All of a sudden the area went black again, soon after it had mentioned tests, he did not like this, however, he kept silent, but at the same time, he kept on his guard, just in case anything did happen.
When the area was light again he found himself in an arena style setting, quite fitting, if his belief about the tests were right. However, when he saw what the fox creature had done to Garnet his eyes showed emotion, a flash of anger passed through his eyes, and his fist clenched, his knuckles cracking as his hands closed.
As Garnet and the fox creature spoke he was preparing himself. He knew, he would have to take the first test. If they wanted to test the water truly, and see how hard these tests were going to be, the strongest fighter would have to go first. True, Shizuma was strong in his own right, but the strength difference of the two fighters was insurmountable.
After the two of them had spoke he looked at Garnet and nodded his head for a moment before turning to the fox creature. True, there was a fair bit of distance between the two of them, but Ryun covered it quite quickly with his long and powerful strides. When he reached the fox creature he found himself to be much larger than it, as he spoke, “I will accept you challenges, but, if harm comes to Garnet, I will break you.”

Once the offer was put on the table and seemingly dismissed, the youth clenched his teeth in frustration and begrudgingly placed the fang back underneath his jacket. He was really hoping that it would be enough to suffice considering it wasn't everyday one ran into large beasts like Fenrir as the fox-eared male explained that's what the fangs came from.
The idea of being tested was something that the Kamira clansman was used to, however he hated when he was in situations with a group. All his mind could revert back to were all the times he had grown close to others and had to make difficult decisions that would end up with him breaking off ties elsewhere. The smile that the male had showed he was going to enjoy putting them through something most likely terrible for someone if not all included.
As he suggested who would go first, the area became surrounded in pitch black darkness once again, but this time they seemed out of the forest and an arena. Shizuma's eyes narrowed as he tried to adjust to the sudden change and situation that he and his companions were going under. Was this all this strange guy's doing and were they really still within the Memorial? The ex-SeeD could only imagine what kind of magic it would take to create such an atmosphere, but if there was ever a place to harness large doses of magical energy, the memorial was it.
Looking to his side he could see that Ryun was fine, but when he looked further back to see Garnet stuck in a cage, Shizuma's eyes widened with rage. As the fox hybrid carried on, easily suspecting the relationship between the trio, Shizuma knew whatever he had to say was nothing good. The possibility of battling against Ryun or even possibly hurting the Queen to save her as tests were unacceptable. The Kamira clansman could easily guess that the fox gatekeeper would love for them all to be weakened in someway, either for his sick entertainment or to take advantage of them himself if they were to go through with his 'tests'.
Either way, Shizuma didn't have much of a chance in his current state in either of those situations, still shaken by the battle against Fenrir. He recognized he would have to rely on Ryun just as much as he had to rely on the one he wished to protect, thus he was stuck in another tough dilemma of how to proceed.
Clenching his fists tight as Garnet addressed the fox-like youth and then watching Ryun approach to accept the challenges, Shizuma tilted his head down to the side. Although part of him wanted to follow suit right behind Ryun to be cautious for the Queen's safety, the Kamira clansman instead drew his gunblade and tapped the dull edged of the blade on his shoulder as he approached the fox being.
"If you don't release her right now as she asked, you're going to find out what lengths I'm willing to go to for her safety." Shizuma calmly ordered in a tone dripping with venomous intentions.
He had no reason to trust the playful words of this being, especially due to the choices he so casually threw out to them as possible challenges. The Kamira clansman figured they had a better chance of working together now to take on this individual, rather than Ryun fighting solo by himself. After all, what was the guarantee this fox gatekeeper would do anything favorable for them if they did follow his words and succeeded? This domain seemed to be his playground to do with as he wished, which made Shizuma think putting an end to it now would probably be their only chance to take control of the situation to some degree.
