Ilkith swept cobwebs from in front of his face as he stalked through the ancient monastery. Curse the bedamnable fool, getting himself stuck in such an unholy den! How in the name of Bahamut did he manage to get himself this far in? He doesn't even have a real sword! If there was anything to be thankful for in this place it was that the patina of dust and grime left clear trails where any physical presence had passed.
Of course, Ilkith reflected as he followed the trail the young fool had left, that didn't necessarily help much, given the proclivity of large groups of undead to be equal parts physical and ethereal. ************************************************** Ilkith had been passing through a village on his way back to Mysidia when he happened to overhear a conversation between a few young women (of which this town seemed to have a more than ample supply) regarding one of the (relatively few) young men of the town. The gist of it seemed to be that one of the young women had convinced a slightly dense would-be suitor that there was a nigh-perfect gemstone in the center of a ruined monastery some distance to the east, infamous in the area for disappearances and haunting shrieks. He had offered to go retrieve it for her and torn off eastward wielding nothing more than a padded waistcoat, a slightly rusty dirk and one ear full of fanciful tales of valiant deeds.
Ilkith, ever the reluctant benefactor, had sighed inwardly and strode into the inn, asking for and receiving directions to the ruin. The innkeeper had even tipped him a wink as he left, saying, "That ol' monastery's been spittin' out ghoulies since Oi were naught but a sucklin' lad. Never had a 'Ero grow up ou' here, so it's never been cleaned ou', neither. Prolly some damn fine loot ta be go'en out there fer the canny adventurer." ***************************************************** Ilkith rubbed at his left temple as he walked, a nervous habit picked up from his old master, Girif, back in Mysidia. It tended to come out whenever he couldn't light up to relieve stress, and he was perfectly aware of the dryness of the air around him. Anything flammable would burn hot and fast, and, as the supports for this old building were wooden, he'd decided against having a smoke.
Being served smoked to whatever forest scavengers might decide to explore a smoldering ruin for food was not on his list of preferred deaths.
If he got in a fight...well, he'd just have to hope he didn't have to get in a fight. Both of his spells generated quite a bit of heat, albeit for a very short period of time in the case of Thunder.
His dark robe swept the dust up behind him as he stalked the old halls, hunting for a foolish teenager, caught up in delusions of love and grandeur. Ilkith sighed again. Why must I always try to save fools from their folly? ************************* Post Count: 510 Thread Count: 510
Leliana found herself back into the town what was once called home for her. What brought her back to this old town of her was a precious item that would show her the path of her own true destiny. This item is known as a gemstone, a client of hers had asked for this specific gemstone in an old ruined monastery somewhere in the center. She began to listen to all of her thoughts about power and herself she forget she was talking to her Client in the forest. "Hello....Hello....seriously...ill find someone esle! A young male spoke trying to get Leliana's attention.
Leliana drew her self back from her thoughts and looked at the young man and gave a small evil grin, "Im here, no need to repeat yourself. I'll have your gemstone, you just have better have my information when i bring the gemstone back here or it will be your life at risk! Leliana spoke very calmly toward her client, as she lifted her right hand and opened her hand to show a dark orb of darkness forming. Lifting the orb in the air she tossed it into the nearest tree as it exploded on impact.
The guy sure was spook and nodded quickly making sure he would give her the info. Leliana pushed the guy away and began to walk out of the forest. "Time to start work! Leliana spoke as she placed her black robe over her body. Her face was now almost covered from the hood of the robe over Leliana's head. The air was still as she walked through the town and ended up on a path outside of the village.
Few minutes passed Leliana found herself a few feet away from an ancient looking monastery. Looking up and down she knew this was the place that the gemstone lies deep in the center. "All right, now all i gotta do is find the gem! Leliana spoke to herself as she took off the hood from her head and walked up to the door which looked like someone must have already entered the place.
Stepping foot inside the monastery she felt cobwebs go straight into her face. The feeling of those webs sickened her and she immieditly shook her hand to take off the webs off of her face. Inside the monastery it felt very cold and almost like death, smiling she almost liked the feeling in this place. Walking a few more steps she saw stairs that lead up to another level of the Monastery. Thinking of the information she was given she would have to go up if the gem was in the center. Moving her body she walked up the steps of the old stairs that gave a screech noise after lifting the foot off the ground. As she found herself up the stairs she heard someone talking to them self which ment that she wasn't alone. "Time to play is it?" Leliana spoke silently to herself in a cold hearted tone. As she lifted her arm, her right hand soon began to create a small purple orb of darkness floating above her palm.
Amalthea walked through the small town, she had been hired by someone to come to the town and try to rid them of some evil spirits in a monistary near the town, she couldn't pass up an opportunity like this, a chance to use her shrine maidens training for SeeD, this was something that she would gladly do for little money, however, they hadn't asked her directly and had paid Headmaster Cid more than they should have for such a job. The headmaster, knowing Amalthea's area of interest was spirits and demons summoned her to his office and had told her of the mission, before he had even said where the mission was to take place she had accepted and was ready to leave.
Amalthea didn't know what her client looked like and didn't even know their name, all she knew was that they would be waiting at the center of the village for her. For a change, Amalthea was wearing her SeeD uniform so that it was easier for her client to recognise her, she had her normal clothes in her bag and would change into them at the first chance she got after meeting her client. Amalthea got to the center of the village to see an old woman sitting on a bench, the woman waved Amalthea over and gestured to her to sit next to her. Amalthea did as she was told, but before she sat dwn she gave a small bow to the woman.
"Tell me deary...are you the member from SeeD who that garden sent to help deal with our little problem?" The old woman spoke with a quiet and polite tone which made her seem younger than she was. "Yes I am ma'am, and can I take that to mean that you are the client who ordered this mission? Amalthea spoke with an authorative tone that stated her position of this mission but also in a tone that said she didn't like to order others around. "Yes, thats right, you will find the place in question down that road, you can't miss it" the old woman pointed down one of the roads that lead from the village.
Amalthea stood up, gave another bow to the woman and walked off down the road, just outside the village, Amalthea stopped and changed into he normal clothes, she prefered them to her SeeD uniform. Walking further up the road, Amalthea saw the old monistary, it was covered in moss with a great deal of cobwebs all over. Amalthea walked up to the front door but it was open, looking around inside she saw multiple footprints leading into the monistary but none of them coming back out again. Drawing her bow from her back, Amalthea walked into the house with a determined stride, following the footsteps trying to catch up to whoever was in here and to make sure they were alright, she held some of her spirit charms in her spare hand as she loaded an arrow into her bow. ____________________________________________________
Ilkith felt the pulse of magic even before he heard the creak of the stair. Dark... he thought as, with little more than a rustle of cloth he slid his wand out of his sleeve and pulled the Grimoire out of the inner pocket in his robe. During this, of course, he kept walking forward and muttering to himself, so as to slow the reaction time of whomever his pursuer might be. If they were hostile, they were in for a nasty surprise when they attacked. If they weren't, well, it was better to be safe than sorry.
Ilkith flipped open the Grimoire, the words of Thunder's incantation springing into focus. Two lines glowed with a dark light that, despite clearly illuminating the words for Ilkith, was nonetheless completely invisible to anyone and everyone else. Ilkith thought, not for the first time, that he would eventually have to do some research on this mysterious tome he'd picked up in one of the mountain caves of Mysidia.
Putting thoughts of future research out of his mind, Ilkith changed his muttering. It began to pick up a cadence and his steps began to match the rhythm of the incantation. If a listener was adept at hearing, they might have picked out the following words as the young mage's voice rose...
Bright as a lamp, quick as a flash Counter the damp, now, Thunder, Crash!
At this last, Ilkith spun, his wand snapping down to point directly at the source of the dark magic he had sensed, a bolt of lightning jumping out of the tip. ********************************** Post Count: 267 Thread Count: 777 <-----That's pretty cool. And totally random.
As soon as Leliana had created her orb of darkness she heard mumbles from a far. As Leliana focused through the air and the mumles she could hear only one word. Thunder! It was the magic spell aiming for her this very second, grinning to herself she tossed the orb of darkness straight toward the bolt of lighting. The orb of darkness hot the bolt of lightning. In matters of seconds a loud explosion was made as smoke formed around upstairs. Leliana rolled onto the ground to the right of her and open her left and right hands, soon two more orbs of darkness were being created into the palm in her own hand. "Time to play!Leliana spoke coldly to herself as she tossed the orbs of purple pure darkness toward the area that the bolt of lightning came from.
Another noise was heard and that came from down stairs which seemed to be yet another person to worry about. Closing her eyes and stood up and quickly stood by a wall to wait for another attack from the black mage that stood in this old rotten place. "I know your here. Might as well show yourself. Maybe i won't kill you if you show yourself?" Leliana shouted out so that who ever casted the thunder spell would hear the words of her order. Though the downfall of this order was going to be giving the person down stairs the wrong idea of her, but she didn't care at this moment. Because the only thing that stood in her way of this so called gemstone was a black mage.
Amalthea started to walk faster, suddenly, she heard an explosion from somewhere just ahead of her. She could see smoke and could her a woman's voice but couldn't quite heard what she was saying. Amalthea started to chant as she stepped round the corner.
"Powers of magic that ebb and flow, I call you now as for now I know, Bring with you the powers of sea, Power of Water, come to me!"
As Amalthea finished chanting, water started to wrap itself around the womans legs and was working its way up. Amalthea was always fast to action and quick to judge and this was no different. Amalthea had guessed that it was this woman that caused that explosion a few seconds ago.
Even though Amalthea had no clue why a woman would do that without reason and didn't know her reason for being here, Amalthea couldn't let this woman risk her life and the lives of anyone else who happened to be here, there was also the fact that if the building fell, Amalthea would fail her mission and she didn't want to be yelled at by Cid. Amalthea shot an arrow at the woman and quickly loaded another, ready to fire at a moments notice. ____________________________________________________
Leliana turned her head toward a female voice who chanted something with water. As she notice an arrow came straight at her, luckly for her she had her staff on her, quickly taking it out she twirled it around the front as it knocked the arrow coming straight toward her to the side. Of course as the arrow fell to the side, the girl soon reloaded and was about to send another arrow at her. This was going to be a pain in the ass Leliana told her self. As she was about to create another orb of darkness down stairs another figure came into the picture. Of course the male had annoing remarks about sleep and how loud it was, her mood quickly changed to calm to point black annoyed.
"All righty then let the games begin! Why not bring another 5 more strangers to come in here. What ever I don't mind the more I can just destroy and take their life away! So the more people that want to come and break this party up come at it because im ready!. I have tricks up my sleeve. Leliana spoke angry at the girl and guy who had just entered the Monastery. Right after that she shouted out a chant that seem to make her auror glow dark purple, "Dark Soldier of the night come out and play. Attack these two enemies with your might!". With her left hand an orb of darkness was being created as she tossed the orb downward at the ground. The orb soon began to form into a human shape but pure darkness. The purple energy of darkness formed like it was a human, and had a blade of pure darkness. The soldier was known as one of Leliana minions as Dark Soldier. The human shape soldier charged at the female with a steady pace as it lunged its blade of darkness toward the female who was being covered in water. Right away it, with out thinking it hit its blade on the ground as it sent a pulse of dark energy toward the male who had just entered the room.
Leliana then lifted her left hand as she sent a blast of orange magic toward the two visitors. The attack would hit one person in the line of fire, this spell was known as Slow. Once it hits it would circle around the target like a clock to slow their actions down. Grinning to herself she drew attention back toward her current target in front of her who she has not yet seen.

(Ok The dark soldier is attacking ama with its blade then sending a pulse of energy toward val. It takes 350 words to defeat it. Check my profile to see the description. Its an ability that creates a form of darkness that will transform into a human shape soldier.)
Amalthea listened to the voice that was shouting from the door, it sounded familiar but she didn't know why...Amalthea focused her attention on the woman again. Amalthea, even though she was this close, didn't catch what the woman said but watched in amazement as the woman threw darkness down in her direction and was shocked that it stared to take on a physical form. Well, this is more than I signed on for but I guess I'll just make this part of my mission and write it in my report later. Amalthea aimed an arrow at the shadow creature and fired, diving to one side behind a wall as it advanced on her.
Amalthea pulled out several spirit charms and loaded yet another arrow into her bow, she was well prepared for spirits and demons but she didn't even know what this thing was. Amalthea started trying to think of a plan of action when the creature rounded the corner and swung a blade at her. Amalthea jumped backwards away from it but was a bit slow and had a gash down her leg. "Now you have done it!" Amalthea yelled this in a voice so loud it seemed to make the house shake and her tone was no longer sweet but fierce.
Amalthea ran towads the shadow creature and slammed her hand onto it, placing a spirit charm on the body of the weird creature and it instantly slowed down from her Spirit Charm Seal. "The only problem I have with indoor fighting is that I can't use my most powerful move..." Amalthea said this in a whisper then started chanting the spell for water again as she took a few steps backwards. The bell on Amalthea's clothes jingled loudly as if as a warning and her hair whipped up as an invisible force flew past her.
Amalthea saw a flash of orange light fly past the place she had been standing a few seconds before as she finished her spell. The water started to surround the creatures arm which held its sword and was moving fast to cover the rest of it before it could attack Amalthea again.
Amalthea was quick at moving and before her water spell could reach the top of its arm, fired two arrows in the direction of the thing's chest, if she hit or not she didn't know cause at that moment she turned to see who the person at the door was but could only see a shadow from where she was although it did seem like she knew the persons voice but it must have been from someone she had only seen once. ____________________________________________________
Damn my altruistic nature, thought Ilkith as he dove behind a conveniently intact stone pillar that fortunately wasn't supporting anything important. Like the ceiling.
"Oy, if you're going to throw spells around, try to aim with them. I'd rather this place didn't come crashing down about our ears. Care to explain your purpose in attacking me? Or rather, preparing to attack me? And if not, I'm going to assume you're hostile and, moreover, evil, and act accordingly. That is, terminate you. With extreme prejudice." Ilkith reflected that threats made in a high tenor tended not to be very convincing, especially when said tenor was cracking and shaky from disuse in a dry environment. I need a glass of water... he thought.
Suddenly, there was another surge of magic, this time from further down the stairs, Water magic to be precise. A sardonic chuckle escaped Ilkith's lips as he reflected on the irony of such a spell being cast just as he thought of his lack of that particular element.
Even further away, back down towards the entrance, he heard a male voice yell at them to keep it down as someone downstairs prepared a Blizzard spell. His eyes crinkled in an even more sardonic smile, appreciating the humor of the newcomer.
Hearing and feeling the casting of both Slow and a corrupted summon spell, Ilkith's face twisted in a grimace. That was not a pleasant form of magic, whatever else it may be. This attacker was almost certainly an individual that, were he employed at Balamb Garden, Lord Cid would be paying him to get rid of.
Nonetheless, he was here for a reason. He didn't have time to play for long just now, his mission here was less than complete. Seeing a clear path through the wreckage, conveniently leading roughly along the path his quarry had set out along, he decided. He needed to keep moving, because if a ghoul got ahold of the fool, there would be hell to pay back at the village, admittedly not for himself, but he hated seeing women in distress.
Readying another shot of Thunder, Ilkith's eyes managed to pick out an ancient oil lamp in the gloom directly above his head. A plan sprung to mind as he grabbed it and opened the top. Phew...yeah, there's still oil in here, thought the young mage as the pungent odor of lamp oil hit his nostrils. He considered his chances of setting the place alight and decided it was worth it.
"CRASH!" Ilkith threw the oil back along his path and flicked his prepared Thunderbolt after it with his wand, hoping it would hit something.
Dropping the now empty lamp without waiting around to see if his plan would work, Ilkith ran down the corridor, sliding the Grimoire back into his robe as he did so, but keeping his wand out. When he felt relatively safe, he sat against the wall for a second to catch his breath. Then, placing the tip of his wand against his left temple, he focused inwards momentarily, breaking the seal he'd placed on his nerve bundle temporarily. "Sixteen words a second..." he muttered as he stood back up. He reflected that reading at that speed tended to put undue strain on his eyes. He was probably only going to have two casts with it since he hadn't been using it much lately, though he might be able to stretch to that to three if it became necessary.
Still, the extra speed would come in handy. He moved off down the corridor, more quickly now and less worried about undead, his eyes flicking from corner to shadow to doorway, searching for the boy he'd come to save. ******************************************** Post Count: 633 Thread Count: 1410 Please note that Sixteen Words A Second is in effect for his next three spell casts. Check his bio for details. Also, he's far enough forward that you will have to catch up before you can catch him.
Leliana grinned back at the male who shot the thunderbolt at her. He had said a remark about aiming correctly she found it funny as she begin to laugh. She wasn't aiming at him for she couldn't see him directly so she had tossed a few orb in the direction hoping something would hit. "If only i was trying to aim at you, you would have already been dead....Now now why are you running away....now look what you did your going to catch this whole place on fire! Leliana shouted as the man had taken a lamp and threw it on the ground and sent a thunderbolt toward the ground. Oil was in the lamp and with the strike of the thunderbolt fire was created. This Leliana was not expected, why would a fool send fire into this old ancient place like this. She had yet to learn any counter spells, unless you counted Comet which would just destroy this place in seconds. Grunting she turned around and looked downward from the stair case and saw a door that lead to the same way the man with the magic went. Nodding to herself she leaped off the stairway and flew in the air, landing on her feet.
As the form of darkness went to atttack it was soon defeated in just few minutes as both the visitors came to attack it. As much as it wanted to attack more, its strength soon faded with each attack it was hit by. Maybe if the slow chant that it was hit with would have missed it would be able to go on longer. Soon water was hitting its body and yet more arrows were being shot at the solider. As it made its last breath it fell to the ground it utterly defeat but the fight was yet to be over. The dying form of darkness looked back at Leliana and nodded it soon felt a erge of last strength and blew up. The form of darkness expanded and sent a dark power that exploded which felt like fire when being hit. With that being done Leliana knew the two visitors would come after her, "As much as i want to stay and chat with the two of you, we have a fire on our hands. So girl with the spirit charms you might want to use that water magic and save us from the building collapsing. Leliana spoke in all kindness took her staff and darted behind her. As she came to a door she used her lower strength of her body and kicked the door open.
The fire would indeed send a warning to the undead that lurked in this place so she knew she had to be on her guard as she made her way through a hallway on the lower part of the monastery. As much as she would like to cast her strongest spell she couldn't due to the area she was in and it would end up killing her in the process. But she knew that once she was outside she would use it to destroy this old rotten place, hopefully when she is outside the rest of the people inside would die along side the building.
Leliana sprinted down the hallway, her heart pumping faster with every given second. Door along the hallway were seen closed which would soon lead to a room which ment no buisness to Leliana. She found herself near the end of the hallway only having minutes to decide to go either up the stairs or to the right of her which lead down another hallway of great length. As soon as Leliana saw stairs she knew that was the way she must go to find this black mage that as casting magic. With her feet stepping on the steps of the stairs she could hear a strange sound of agony and moaning behind her. Turning her head she notice a few undead zombies slowly walking behind her, sighing to herself she felt her magic formed in her left hand. Opening her hand a small amount of darkness was soon forming into a medium size orb. Smiling she tossed it toward the front of the two zombies. This would slow them down and hopefully the visitors behind her would run into them before it would catch up to Leliana.
Taking the distraction she used her speed to run up the stairs, with each squeek from the old staircase as her foot lifts up from the ground. As Leliana found herself at the top of the stairs she moved her body around as she found a hallway that would hopefully lead her to the black mage. Placing her staff on her back she walked slowly as she produced a small amount of darkness in her palm of her hands. Two orbs of darkness were now being created, in seconds they were a size of a basketball. "Come out! Maybe we could work together? Im in need of an item that was left here long ago. Its a precious item that was in my family for ages. I have come to achieve it back and place it back into my family name. Leliana shouted out into the air. She made up a lie about the gemstone being in her family as she walked down the hallway.
Amalthea had been lucky and had managed to gain a bit of distance from the shadow creature before it exploaded. The explosion sent Amalthea flying into a wall but other than that she was fine. Amalthea had heard the woman yell at her telling her to use her magic to put the fire out. Amalthea ran up the stairs two at a time to get her there faster. When she reached the top of the stairs she saw a blazing inferno infront of her, she wasn't sure if she would be able to do it all in one go but she started to chant again, a slightly different chant this time.
"Oh heavens, please hear my plea, Help me with the rage of this power, Bring your peaceful power to me, Help me quell the rage in this despirate hour!"
As Amalthea finished her chant, a ball of water appeared in her hand and she threw it into the air, she shot it with one of her arrows and it exploaded, causing water to fall all over the hall, quelling a large part of the fire so that they were not in instant danger of burning. She an off down the hall as fast as she could, following the footsteps in the dust after the burned and chared floor.
Amalthea turned a corner and saw a spectral being infront of her, it looked like a small girl with pigtails. The girl was see though and, for some reason, she had no eyes, her mouth was wide as if she was screaming even though no sound came out except a very quiet wail of pain. Amalthea heard the sound, she felt unnerved by it, pulling out one of her spirit charms, she placed it on the little girls head and she seemed to disintigrate.
"Well, that is one of the spirits taken care of, I hope they are all as easy as that one was." Amalthea started opening doors along the hall, but she didn't find anything except a small object wrapped in a cloth, she picked it up without thinking and slid it into her bag, she thought that someone had maybe dropped it. Amalthea had to admire some of the objects in the rooms she went into, there were ornate wardrobes in alot of the rooms on this floor.
Amalthea even looked inside a few of the wardrobes to see magnicifent clothes that looked like they belonged to people of the upper class. Amalthea also saw alot of mirrors around the house, most of which were either cracked, smashed or covered with so much dust you could polish them for a week and still not see a reflection. Amalthea felt the presence of a spirit coming from behind a door, but this one felt as though it would be trouble.
Amalthea opened the door slowly and saw a rather large spectral animal, it looked like it was a cross between a bird and a cat. It had large wings, a beaked face and feline body and tail. As soon as she had seen the spirit it pounced at her. Amalthea instinctivly slammed the door shut but the spirit just lept straight on through although, seems she had been so close to the door, it had also passed through her.
The spirit turned on the spot and lunged again. Amalthea pulled out another spirit charm and managed to place it on the spirits forehead and it disapeared with a very loud shreeking sound. "OK, why couldn't all these spirits at least be human, I hate mutated spirits, they always cause trouble!" Amalthea walked on down the hall, feeling the faint aura of magical energies nearby. ____________________________________________________
((OoC: Apologies then. I kind of tried to type something as fast as humanly possible this morning before I had to leave for school and skimmed the posts before me. I will not make that mistake again. As for now, I am clicking the nice little "DELETE" button and I'll work on a different post.))
Gerrick awoke to the smell of smoke and the sounds of battle, two things he didn't like hearing in the morning, but rather enjoyed later on in the day. He yawned loudly and crawled out from underneath the bed he was sleeping under (he supposed he WAS a monster of sorts), scratching his back as he did so. The brightness of the sun made him wince briefly before his eyes adjusted to the harsh light.
"I... I don't want t-to die..."
Gerrick frowned and pulled himself to his feet, looking at the shaking wreck before him. Whoever it was, he had done a horrible job of concealing himself. One of his legs was sticking out from the box he was hiding under. Glaring at the box, Gerrick lunged at it, pulling the leg out from underneath it.
Unfortunately, there was no body attatched to the leg.
Confused, Gerrick looked around the room looking for the source of the whimpering. A drop of blood fell on his head and Gerrick suddenly had an epiphany.
During his travels the night before, Gerrick had come upon this abandoned house sometime around midnight. After showing the ghouls in the house who was the alpha-dog (in other words, he tore them limb from limb and then threw said limbs into the cellar), he found a small bedroom and decided to hole up for the night. He didn't get to sleep for very long though, as his sleep was rudely interrupted by a very stupid-looking young man. The kid asked him if he had seen a gem of sorts and Gerrick kindly responded by removing one of his legs and stringing him up on the ceiling. He then crawled under the bed in the room and was lulled to sleep by the man's cries of terror and pain.
Gerrick decided now was a good time to look up and saw that the man was still alive, but very very pale and probably dehydrated. Sighing, Gerrick cut the man down from the ceiling and glared at him angrily. "Kindly shut the hell up. Unless you want me to remove your voice box." The man simply continued to cry and whine and piss and moan (he really did all of these things... especially the third one).
"I warned you~!" Gerrick smiled evilly as he tore out the man's voice box. The kid gurgled incoherently for a moment longer before finally bleeding out on the moldy wood floor. Wiping his bloodied hands on the man's shirt, Gerrick picked up the body and kicked open the door to his room with a resounding bang!. He felt that this man should be put with the other corpses in the cellar. He walked past the wall of fire and the strange man who was sitting against the wall a distance away, without giving either of them so much as a glance. He then proceeded to kick open the door to the cellar and throw the corpse of the man down it.
Turning on his heel, Gerrick decided that now would be a good time to leave the burning, probably falling apart building when a splash of water hit the fire before him. The oil fire before him. As anyone knows, oil fire spreads when hit with water. Gerrick found himself on fire, although he didn't seem to feel any pain from it. He briefly glanced down at the flames licking his clothes, stepped a few feet away from the fire and then stopped, dropped and rolled until the flames on his person were extinguished. Picking himself up from the ground and dusting off his bloodied cloak, Gerrick continued on his merry way, waving jauntily at a creepy-looking mage who gave off waves of malicious energy.

OOC: i just want to say good entry post, i think the only thing you got wrong was the fact that oil in contact with water only makes fires worse when the oil is on top, not the water so the fire would go out, just want to be helpful
((-sigh- You can thank Ilk for that one XD He shouted while I was at his house that water would make it worse (-_-) I apologize then... should I fix it?))
Ilkith froze as he watched the strange man throw the body down the cellar stairs. As the man walked away, Ilkith stood and went to the door, opening it and looking down. Getting a good look at the boy's face, Ilkith smacked himself in the forehead, dragging his hand down his face and sighing. Well. Fuck. The body down there was definitely that of the child he'd been sent to retrieve.
Resigned to his failure, (and not particularly bothered by it; it wasn't his fault, the child had wounds such that he'd likely been nearly dead since last night) Ilkith began to close the door and turn back towards the entrance.
And would have done, had he not caught the stench of moving death below.
Closing the door, Ilkith power-walked back towards the front. seeing the man who had thrown the body down the stairs he walked up to him. "Hey, guy, how many ghouls did you toss down that stairwell? 'Cause I'm pretty sure you hit critical mass down there. Undeath is not pretty, given it's propensity for regeneration in dark, dank environments. So we should be seeing or at least hearing a very large...
There was a loud crash behind them down the corridor Ilkith had just come from. Looking over his shoulder, Ilkith shook his head slightly. Patting the man on the shoulder, Ilkith walked past him towards the exit, calling back "Good luck with the Grand Ghoul you made! It's allergic to fire, just F.Y.I." ******************************************* Word Count: 273 Thread Count: 1683 *Wikipedia on Oil Fires Yes, if you have enough water in an enclosed spot, you can deprive an oil fire of oxygen, but the safe thing to do is beat it out with a cloth. That article is about oil well fires which are traditionally put out by setting off a large explosion right next to it, depriving the fuel of oxygen to burn.
The smell of death would soon perfume the air, the ground below them would shake as the undead began to twitch their bodies began to like together, the sound of flesh tearing sickeningly the sound of bones clicking and snapping as they were pushed upon. The brain matter began to slowly slide together and link, creating a more artificial intelligence. As they could hear the roars of the dead as they fused, the sound of bones cracking as they snapped like twigs, the sound of nails gouging into the ground and the world around them. The smell seemed to fade slightly before it came back intensifying as the excess skin would begin to decay and rot as slowly the sound of something coming up the stairs could be heard. It moved swiftly though unlike many undead before many could blink it was standing at the top of the stair case it truth it didn't even look dead they had taken a form they had all once seen it was their killer a man would be stnding there and smiling. Slowly it stepped forward it smiled his name was Namakubi.
Their eyes were a soft golden hue there were only two, while he had a single form, he looked human almost but the ammonut of muscle had had condensed was revealed as he punched the wall splintering it violently. It reached into it's mouth spitting something out slowly a long silver sword was visible. It had been within one of the corpses. It rang as it swung it. Slowly it took a step forward. It's hair was long and moving like there was a wind when there was none, it was long and black, while the skin was bleached white. As they smiled it revealed rows of teeth which had been evened out by sudden flows of acid giving it a child's smile, as it slowly it's skin and bones condensed further giving it the appearance of a child of ten. While it wore a tight black suit, which had a few holes and a snug black cape. A monocle was visible. As he adjusted a small top hat it had created from the flesh giving it a leathery form. It would take the form of something no person could truly kill. As it slowly took a step forward raising it's hands.
"I call upon, the cold essence of death, the piercing tears of the broken heart, the true color of death rain from the sky. Blizzaga"
As the icy orb formed it was tainted red and black and exploded sending splinters towards them all while the child would move among it trying to get close enough to one of them while it swung a sword with enough force to cleave into bones and shatter skulls.
