----Character Biography----[/u][/i]
Name:
Auron
Race
Unsent, formerly Human
Age:
35 (25 at time of death)
Gender:
Male
Profession:
Former Guardian of High Summoner Braska
Class
Knight
Species Skill
Farplane's Breath: An unsent is immortal. And as of such can only be truly defeated when a summoner sends them. Not to say that they cannot be defeated. Unsent are able to be defeated like any other living person through normal means. But they will not die. Merely escape to regenerate.
Farplane's Gift: An unsent is granted an upgrade to one of their magics or abilities upon Ascension.
Organisation:
N/A
Alignment
Chaotic Good
Home Continent:
Bevelle, Spira
Personality:
Auron is a man of typically few words who conducts himself in a direct and to the point manner, often allowing what he does to speak louder than what he says. That said, he is willing (if not exactly forthcoming) to share the benefits of his experience with anyone he feels to be worthy, though he does even this in his usual no nonsense fashion. Though he is quite sentimental about his days spent travelling with Braska and Jecht he hardly ever talks about either of them unless it is relevant to the person he's speaking with. He holds both men in the highest regard and tolerates no slight against either's memory.
Since the conclusion of Braska's pilgrimage he has held the Church of Yevon and the Maesters in particular disdain and he shows little to no regard for them at all. While he still regards Wen Kinoc as a friends of sorts he has long given up any tolerance or reverence for Yevon or its precepts.
Auron has dedicated himself entirely to the complete eradication of Sin and so strong was this compulsion that it prevented him from passing in to the Farplane following his death. Even so he has an unflinching sense of justice and will not turn away from anyone in trouble even if it serves to delay him, since his quest is less about personal revenge for Braska, Jecht and himself, but more about redeeming Spira by destroying Sin. Everything Auron does is geared towards that goal and he will ally with more or less anyone with the same motivation regardless of extraneous factors.
In battle he is a fierce fighter and deadly tactician, years of experience allow him to assess and take command of any given combat situation, he shows a great deal of focus but is not beyond becoming enraged when sufficiently outraged. He has a strict sense of honour and will usually show his opponents a measure of respect unless they transgress that sense of honour, in which case he is almost entirely without mercy. Being that he is an Unsent, he is more willing to place himself in danger to protect his allies, though this was true of him even before his death he now shows little to no regard for his own safety if it means protecting his allies.
Appearance:
Equipment:
Katana – Auron's greatsword despite its name more closely resembles a zanbato, being much longer and broader than a regular katana, it is clear however from its appearance that it uses the same forging method. Auron carries the blade everywhere with him, balancing it on his right shoulder and is rarely seen without it.
Jug – An item which Auron carries with him at all times, a large tan jug inscribed with the word 'Nog' in Spiran script, he keeps it topped up with rum as he travels across Spira.
Combat Abilities:
Level 1 Slots:
Power Break: Auron's first 'break' attack in which he forgoes physically damaging the opponent in exchange for crippling their attack potential.
Effect: Once struck the opponent takes 0.5 damage, but any attack made by them (not just to Auron, but to anyone) now require -10% w/c to block. (Effect expires in 3 posts.)
Dragon Fang: Auron leaps into the air and thrusts his weapon into the ground, causing eruptions beneath all nearby enemies.
Effect: Auto-hit up to 3 surrounding enemies at close range for 0.5 damage, additional enemies can dodge as normal. (Can only be used once per thread.)
Guardians Aura: Their unbending will means that Guardians are far tougher than the average opponent. Because of this in pvp combat it will take 5 hits, rather than the average 3 to defeat them.
Upon the Fire: The guardian can intercept any blow intended for their summoner. However doing so requires them taking it upon themselves as an autohit.
Level 2 Slots:
Dragon Fang: An upgraded version of Auron's starting Overdrive, causing more damage to surrounding opponents.
Effect: Auto hit up to 3 surrounding enemies at close range for 1 damage, additional enemies can dodge as normal. (One use per thread as with Lvl 1)

History:
In his younger years Auron was a devoted warrior-monk of Bevelle, but he fell in to disrepute when he refused to wed the daughter of one of Yevon's high ranking priests. His friend Wen Kinoc was instead made second in command of the Warrior-monks while Auron fell almost entirely into obscurity. He might have been forgotten entirely were it not for Braska who enlisted him as a Guardian to help him on his pilgrimage to fight Sin, honoured by the idea and having no better prospects Auron agreed. Before they left Bevelle the pair visited the holding cells and were joined by Jecht in spite of Auron's protests to the contrary. He would frequently grow aggravated with Jecht's laid-back demeanour, but eventually came to trust and respect him just as much as he did Braska.
When the trio reached Zanarkand, Auron was outraged when the nature of the Final Aeon was revealed to them, believing that if Sin would only come back then their sacrifice would be worthless. His friends though held onto the hope that the Calm might be permanent, Braska consented and Jecht gave up his life to become the Fayth for the Final Aeon. Both of them lost their lives during the Final Summoning so Auron returned to Yunalesca, outraged by the folly of it all, in his rage he attacked her but was not powerful enough to fight her and was heavily wounded, blinded in his right eye. He fled down Mount Gagazet and rested in Rin's travel agency on his way to Bevelle, but collapsed not far outside the city to be found by Kimahri Ronso. Fully aware that he was about to die, Auron asked the Ronso to take Braska's daughter to Besaid and keep her safe before he succumbed to the wounds he'd received in Zanarkand.
Through sheer conviction to redeem his friends sacrifice and protect the people of Spira, he was revived as an Unsent and rode Sin out into the ocean where he was able to enter Dream Zanarkand to watch over Tidus as it had been Jecht's final wish. For ten years he watched the young boy grow and develop, usually at a distance though he would never refuse to offer help when he perceived it was needed. Recently Sin emerged in and obliterated the Dream Zanarkand and Auron was able to guide Tidus towards the creature, allowing them both to escape the dream and emerge into the real Spira.
RP sample:
After ten years he had come back. Ten years and nothing had changed, but then what had he expected in a place like Spira? There were no advances, no grand upheavals, no progress. There was only Yevon and Sin along with the stagnation and lies which the enforced upon an utterly ignorant world. As long as Sin existed, Yevon would exist and Sin would exist forever. As long as that was the case Braska and Jecht would have died for nothing, Auron would not tolerate that. Taking another swig from his jug he paused to pour a small libation over the edge of the pier for Braska and an even smaller one for Jecht... he wouldn't take it personally. In fact Auron reckoned he'd probably say it was a bad waste of good drink to begin with.
Luca was beginning to buzz with life in the run up to the Blitzball season, Auron had never found any interest in the sport, Jecht though had loved it and it never failed to evoke thoughts of him. Which might have been part of the reason why Auron was drinking so much and probably the main reason why he wasn't enjoying it so much as he ought to. Had he not been waiting for someone he would simply have moved on, but they had to come this way in order to reach the Mi'hen Highroad assuming that he was still alive and in one piece. Jecht would never forgive me... and that's all I need.
Somehow though Auron knew that he would cross paths with those two soon enough, Braska's daughter and Jecht's boy. If he were still a man of some belief he might have called it fate, but for the past ten years he had put no stock in fate, the only thing which Auron allowed himself to believe in now was choice. The freedom to choose a world without Sin and with some small measure of hope for the future. As it stood people were trapped by fear, by the past, by despair, the world had not moved one inch since Yevon had elected to take revenge on Spira by inflicting the disgusting abomination known as Sin on it. It could not move. Sin was the lock and Jecht, as it were, was the key.
With a sigh he hefted his huge sword back over his shoulder and turned away from the ocean view, striding back in towards the city. He had a feeling that soon everything was about to change.
Notes: I went ahead and assumed Auron would be allowed the Guardian skills as Jecht was, hope that wasn't too forward. Likewise I hope the upgraded Dragon Fang is okay since he's already ascended prior to the RP.[/size]
