The kiss of the flames
Rubicante's cloak was one of the fabled items that grew alongside its weilder, its identity being one with the owner. In the case of Rubicante', this made the cloak begin in earnest, protecting him from the flames he loved so well, rendering him immune to them merely by wearing it.

History:
Rubicante' was not always called such. He was once a man, a human wizard of no small skill. He had a wife of great beauty who was covetted by more than a few in the village where he lived. His passion for her was only matched by his passion for the flames, a fact which went noted in multiple quarters.
One of the men of his village secretly plotted to have Rubicante's wife for his own, and so he contrived an elaborate scheme of deceit to make one of the other village mages accuse him of dark, underhanded dealings, and once the trap had been set, the man burnt down his dupe's home with him still in it.
To the townsfolk the evidence was too clear: Rubicante' was arguing with the man and then his house burst into flames. He had clearly committed arson and murder, and so was set to burn at the stake. Rubicante', being noble and forthwright, went willingly, and met his death on the stake.
Some time after the execution one of the village denizens made off with what was left with Rubicante's body, and delivered it to Zemus, who returned life to him in exchange for a vow of service. Thus Rubicante' was born, and thus he was presented with his cloak, marking him as one of the chosen champions of the elements. His honor was still intact, but his heart was now somewhat embittered towards those who resorted to duplicity.
RP sample:
Rubicante' was adjusting to his new existance, the pain of being burnt alive still lingering inside his mind despite the body being made whole by his new master. For a moment his mind went to revenge, to returning to the town and finding out who was responsible for the false allegations, if anyone at all. He suspected it, obviously, but without returning there was no proof, and returning, at least in person, wasn't an option. Not because they would recognize him if he did, but rather because he would never be able to live with himself if his wife saw him like this.
So it was that the fire fiend was resolved to figure out a way to rectify his situation. He knew he couldn't simply go to a town as he was far from natural seeming, so it was that he made his way through the wilderlands of the Veldt, intent to make the most of his situation.
As time passed Rubicante came to realize that some of the creatures of the Veldt didn't wish to antagonize him, and a few almost outright revered him. Thoughts of his master proclaiming him a Lord of the Dancing Flames sifted into his mind, and thus it was there, in the middle of nowhere, that Rubicante' began to plot, and to ponder.
