History:
Beis was created and worked in a small, hidden town called Bran Bal on the world of Terra. He did as he was ordered everyday and he knew nothing of the going-ons of the world, Gaia. And to be honest, he had absolutely no interest in it. Sure he had been told of the world but it held no need for him. After all, he had been informed the moment he was created that he was simply a vessel for the souls of Terra. Nothing more. So his days were filled with creating more Genomes.
But it seemed that as time went on, the more Beis worked on these new vessels, the more he wondered if it was all worth anything... It seemed that the Fusion would never come and the Soul Cycle would never be completed... A life without meaning seemed hardly worth living at all... So maybe he shouldn't stay within Bran Bal... There was a portal that they were told never to near for it lead to the world of Gaia... Perhaps... That was where the Genome would discover his purpose.
Beis packed up all that he owned and left, leaving the village and his world behind. Stepping through, he found himself on an icy glacier and close by was a city upon an island. Perhaps that was where Beis would find transport. Though reaching the island proved difficult without any boat to use. Remembering the twin Orichalcum daggers he had brought with him, Beis removed them from his pouch and carved a makeshift raft and oar from the abundant chunks of ice. After about a half an hour of rowing, Beis found himself in the city. As he traversed though it, he noticed odd stares from the townsfolk. Either it was his small stature or his tail that drew their leers, but the Genome decided to ignore it.
Beis boarded an airship and left the city, which he learned was called Esto Gaza. He did not meet any people on his travels but he did become more adept at fighting, thanks to the monsters that seemed abundant in this word. He simply kept walking or traveled by ship, with no real destination until he reached a large city. He walked into a very rundown area that the locals called the Slums. He asked some people there he was and was informed that he was the city of Midgar.
Beis had not much to his name but his blades and some gil. He used the gil to put up a job ad in the market. As for what he would do, he didn't really have a specific field of expertise. He decided then to become a jack of all trades, doing what needed to be done, be it clean or dirty. After completing a few jobs, he had enough money to buy himself a small house in the Slums. This would be his headquarters for work as well. He also used the money from the jobs to buy novels to read. He used these for his experiments on how to express feelings. There was one that stood out above the rest. The name in itself expressed him well enough. It was an epic called "Loveless". There was a hero here who apparently loved reading it as well...
After the war began, Beis found it harder and harder to leave the city. He was unsure how long he will be able to keep getting jobs. Yet life went on... While working on one of his jobs, he went to Balamb Gardens to deliver a package and met someone he did not expect. It was a Genome named Asher who, unlike him, seemed to have a personality and, dare he say it, feelings. The Genome asked him if they were brothers and, thinking of the process that makes people family, agreed with the statement. After all, brothers are those who are created by the same beings and since Garland created them both. As Beis spent more time with Asher, he began to see things differently. He discovered a bit of humanity that lay within him…
One day, when Beis visited Asher in Balamb Gardens, he was not greeted by a loving brother but instead by cold hard eyes. He accused Beis of lying to him about their being brothers and even as Beis tried to explain, Asher didn’t believe him. The Genome ran off but Beis did not go after him. He instead went to help two people he had just met. And ever since that day, he regretted doing so… Since then, Beis began to travel around all of Gaia, searching for his brother but to no avail.
He returned to his home in Midgar a year and a month later. Along his journey, he had discarded the Orichalcum Blades for Dual Dagger Duelers, two handguns that doubled as twin blades. With no hope of finding his brother, Beis decided to return to the work he had started before of simply doing any work that came his way. Who knew… Maybe Asher was closer than he realized…

Beis sat beneath the shade of a tree by the entrance gate of Balamb Gardens. He brought an apple to his lips and bit off a piece and chewed. Asher was supposed to return today after his trip. After spending a few days in here, Beis felt as if he knew the place like the back of his hand. Perhaps not having emotion made him more observant. Beis stood, his tail flicking around behind him and walked out into the sunshine. He stretched his back and gazed up into the blue sky. Up in the air there was an airship, much like the one he had arrived in Balamb in. Beis smiled slightly. Though he had been a bit apprehensive at first after meeting Asher, he had become quite attached to the Genome. Sure he was extremely energetic. EXTREMELY energetic... But it made him more appealing to Beis. And the innocent way he looked at the world was fresh compared to the pessimistic view of others. He wondered if he would be able to look at the world in the same way after he solved the mystery of emotion.
Beis then looked high into the air and noticed a black speck falling from it. His eyes narrowed. Had something broken off of it? Perhaps a monster was attacking it? Well whatever it was, it was gaining speed and fast. He then heard a sound that brought a smile to his lips as he took another bite of the apple. A scream of joy rang through the air from the falling speck. And Beis recognized the voice. That was his brother alright... Sure Beis wouldn't be foolish enough to jump from an airship, but then again, he didn't have teleportation powers. He began to count down the seconds until Asher made his estimated landing.
"Twenty... Nineteen... Eighteen..."
As he grew closer to the ground, Beis noticed that the speck was too big to be just Asher. Was he carrying... Oh no. He had dragged someone along for the ride. He pitied whoever had gotten dragged into the reckless Genome's thrill seeking. The last one Asher brought along on his joy rides stayed locked in his room for the entire next day, afraid to leave his dormitory. And Asher said he had no idea why the boy was acting that way. Well if you're playing Chicken and forget to take your friend with you when you teleport, you can't really blame him for being terrified out of his skull. Beis would have to chastise Asher after this... He also had to recalibrate his estimated arrival time. Consider the added weight and the effect on the speed...
"Five... Four... Three... Two... One..."
Asher appeared on the ground in front of him and was lying atop a person Beis had never met before. Beis began to clap as he heard whoops from students behind him. He must not have been the only one who had noticed Asher's high flying antics. Beis decided to walk over as Asher began bouncing up and down on the stranger while the two were in a very awkward position. He grabbed Asher by the back of his shirt and lifted him up into the air with a sigh.
"Come Asher. This man has been through enough trauma for today without you scarring him mentally... Though I don't know if you can anymore after dropping him from an airship.”
Beis plopped the Genome onto his stomach on the ground and helped up the man who Asher used as a cushion. He dusted off the gentleman while giving him an apologetic look.
"I apologize for my brother's behavior sir. He doesn't seem to know that people would prefer to step off a ship instead of falling thousands of feet."
After the man seemed clean, Beis took a step back and bowed to him.
"My name is Beis. What is yours?"
