----Character Biography----[/u][/i]
Name:
Elena
Race
Human.
Age:
Elena’s age isn’t given directly, but seeing as how she was in High school before the events of Final Fantasy VII proper, her age when she joined the Turks would probably be estimated to be around early twenties. But, a lady never reveals her age, does she?
Gender:
Female.
Profession:
Elena is a newly recruited member of the Turks, a sub-division of sort off of the corporate dominating ShinRa. They work in shrouded secrecy most of the time, dealing with espionage, assassinations and kidnappings where work is concerned. High ranking in the ShinRa class, a Turk is something to be feared for sheer power and physical strength, let alone their ranking in the company’s food chain.
Class
Elena, as a Turk with no specific weapons skills, would most accurately be described as a martial artist. Her training has covered firearms and minor close combat, but her main skill would be in martial arts.
Species Skill
“Quick Learner: A 10% discount to Upgrades on magic and abilities.”
Organisation:
A loyal employee of ShinRa.
Alignment
Lawful neutral.
Home Continent:
Midgar Continent
Personality:
Elena, while being one of the few female Turks and only Turk in her current unit, represents a sort of delicate feminine essence, she isn’t so much of a pushover as one might think. Elena is dedicated to her work, and takes pride in keeping her work on a more serious level than say, Reno does. While she may be close to being “one of the guys”, Elena is very much in her own class as a newbie, which is often pointed out by her slipups. Often having to be told by Reno to “grow a backbone”, she keeps a certain naïve nature about her, and even shows reluctance in being aggressive and confronting a target. Reno constantly reminds her of her position as a Turk, thus making Elena out to be not far from the high school life she left behind. Harboring envy towards her older sister, “Gun”, who was a successful Turk before her, Elena is both following in her footsteps and trying to fill them as well as outdo them. It seems she has a long way to go, though. Reno and Rude are far more effective in combat, and while she tries to maintain a constantly professional nature, her crush on the Turks’ leader, Tseng, sometimes clouds her thoughts. In whole, she’s a girl fresh out of the pigtails and pleated skirt stage trying to fill a crisp uniform of a woman beyond her years. She’s not as good at her job as she’d like, and is far below the level of Reno and Rude, but tries her best to be as professional as possible, even if it means overcompensating for lack of skill with sheer eagerness to bring to the table.
Appearance:
Equipment:
Elena doesn’t carry any strict weapon to use as exclusively as Reno and his EMG rod, given her rookie rank, but she does carry a small handgun. Other than that, she relies on her own combat skills, or several small grenades.
Other equipment noteable: Minerva Band Woman's Armlet nullifies, Fire/Cold/Gravity/Holy, also increases defense by 8. Magic defense: 57 and defense of 60.
Combat Abilities:
Slots are determined through race and class. If class or race doesn't add any additional slots then the base number is 1. Combat abilities are abilities that deal physical damage ( minus strike) or weaken the opponent in some way ( power break). Combat abilities are created by you. At the start you may only create a level 1 combat ability( ies) - unless you are a Lucavi-. Each level of ability is stronger than the last. Level 1 being light damage, Level 2 being Medium, and level 3 being strong. Level 2 and 3 abilities can only be obtained by upgrading your current ones with gained experience.
Level 1 Slots:
-Blaze: From a distance, Elena peppers the field with small, firecracker-like grenades to deal a small amount of damage to the opponent(s). These are in limited supply (aka, a ‘how many can you carry’ type of deal) and she can only use them twice, three times maximum. The grenades don’t deal a lot of damage by themselves, but enough together cause a somewhat significant amount if the target is hit.

Level 3 Slots:

Magic
Magic is the power of the ancients, the ability to use the powers of the planet to heal or even to damage. Unlike combat abilities magic abilities cannot be made. Magic is premade and is listed under magic. At creation each character starts with a single magic slot, this is increased depending on race or class. A list of available magic’s is in the appropriate thread. Level 2 and 3 magic abilities can only be learned if you have the corresponding lower level spell.

History:
Elena was born to serve Shinra. Or rather, was expected to. Little is known about her past, other than she must’ve come from a bit of money. Her father taught at the ShinRa military academy, where her older sister attended and was recruited for the Turks based on her outstanding marksmanship techniques. For this, Elena, a high school student at the time, resented her. She received a certain amount of pressure to join the ranks of ShinRa, and when news hit home about her sister, Elena became resentful. Not only had the sister soon to be known as “Gun” become a ShinRa employee, she was a Turk, which stood out above all. From that day forward, the two constantly clashed. Swearing revenge in the form of performance, Elena attended the same military academy and attempted to outdo her sister in performance. Sadly, she never lived up to her expectations, and lived in envy of her older siblings’ new life. She had seen Turks before her sister of course, and the crisp navy blue uniform and tie, clean cut appearance, they had all seemed so perfect. Exactly what she wanted. Something dependable, respectable. The girl eventually made it to the trainee stages of ShinRa employment, and vigorously worked and trained night and day to achieve somewhat of a respectable position even in her rankings. Luck befell the girl one day when a Turk member, Reno, had been injured in a clash with the terrorist group known as AVALANCHE. A replacement was to be picked, and sleepless nights and tiring days of bookwork and physical conditioning finally paid off. Elena was selected as a temporary replacement for the injured Turk. After Reno’s recovery, she was successfully inducted, having proved herself to be a note able member of the team, keeping the mission as professional as she could and following orders to a T, despite how much she did or didn’t like them. It was from that moment that she took scissors to her long, girlish blonde hair and re-invented herself to be Elena the Turk.

[[Total poop, but I’ll give it a shot.]]
“…Grow a goddamn backbone, Laney!” Caramel-colored orbs flitted about the room to eventually settle, and narrow at their target: a certain Turk with hair the color of hellfire and a tongue to match. “It’s no wonder you don’t get many dates, Reno, if you talk to women like that!” her tone was half comprised of a whine, the remainder a protest for him to cease and desist. Honestly, there were only so many times she could be called ‘Laney’ in the same day and NOT go insane. He only referred to her as ‘rookie’ or ‘newbie’ out in the field, but this was downtime. Or rather: sitting at a bar in the seediest section of Midgar after being on their feet for eight hours straight constituting as downtime. Crisp navy blue pleats and seams were something to stare at here: here being a place with a greasy wooden countertop and foggy glasses, some with lip prints still in tact from whoever took the last swig.
The sight of so many unhygienic people all staring at them, giving them dirty looks from behind dirty faces was enough to make the woman cringe under her layers of starched fabric, kept clean and away from the grime of the city.

Honestly, of all places, why did Reno have to pick THE seediest bar in the area? One glance across the counter told her all she needed to know. The bar-matron, a shapley young twenty-something girl with doe eyes and an inviting smile had a habit of bending down forwards to refill Reno’s drink, skin and curves bursting from the low neck of her unbuttoned collared blouse. Elena couldn’t resist an eyeroll at the situation, especially as Reno gave his slurred reply, letting his head lazily loll to the side to make eye contact once more with the female. “But I ain’t talking to women, rookie, I’m talkin to you.”
How disappointing could off-duty time be? Maybe Rude would sympathize with her---no, behind the omnipresent sunglasses, dark eyes were transfixed on the exact same thing Reno’s half-lidded ones were. “Oh, for crying out loud…” she hissed, holding up one gloved hand as if to hide her identity from the world, wanting nothing more than to not be associated with the two Turks who were supposed to be her superiors.

“This isn’t how Turks act!” her words came out in a frustrated sigh, or at least she thought they did until the level of noise in the bar took a dramatic downswing and the uncanny feeling of dozens of pairs of eyes burning into her back became noticeable.
A hot scarlet rose to color alabaster cheeks, Elena sitting up to survey the situation slowly. Apparently a Turk sounding like an idiot wasn’t too amusing, and the patrons soon went back to gambling, talking and laughing about their own business, thankfully. But Reno didn’t. Instead, he let out a series of half-sustained laughs, in various ranges and pitches before hiccupping and letting his head rest against the dust-ridden surface in front of him. Elena could’ve sworn she heard him say “rookie” amidst his drunken laughter.
