Artemis Entreri was walking around the slums of Midgar randomly, searching for a place with a dual purpose. One, to give him some work to take his mind off of current matters. Two, to get something to drink. He needed something to whet his thirst, and the other reason...
He thought back to the man who threatened his very existence simply by speaking his mind, and telling the man flat out his way was the wrong one. Then beating him to show it firsthand. It irked Entreri severely to think that this practical paladin could beat he who trained daily to keep up with the demands of his line of work.
It was an impossibility he cared not to dwell on. So, Artemis Entreri walked into the first bar he found. It happened to be 7th Heaven, or so the sign said. Looking around, he noticed it was rather small. The smallest of places sometimes conceal the most vindictive types. They happened to be quite good business.
Entreri saw an open spot and was seated. He wasn't about to call the bartender over simply to serve him, so he decided to wait. He noticed someone seated beside him but made no move to start conversation. Usually, someone else started conversation with him. And when they did, he would reply nonchalantly. It was a repetition that he had savored.
But no longer. The repetition that he had so loved was cruelly taken from him by the challenger he so hated to his very core. The paladin had thrust him into a perspective where he was not in control, and that was unacceptable. There was nothing that Artemis Entreri hated more than the control he so coveted being stolen.
Sighing, Entreri waved the bartender over. It would be a long day today, and he was not quite certain he was looking forward to it.
