It had been a pretty easy trip back to Midgar, Elena supposed; there had only been a few attempts for their remarkably obvious ShinRa 'copter to be shot out of the sky, but with Reno's swift maneuvering, they had managed to avoid a total disaster. Rude's injuries hadn't been fatal either, a bit too deep to treat with simple bandages, so Elena resorted to using a Cure. It may have been a bit wasteful, but they could be called up for anything, anytime, couldn't they? Besides..the sight of blood made her sick to her stomach, wrinkling her nose in disgust.
After a relativley smooth airborne journey, the Shinra building was finally in sight, hard to not recognize amongst small buildings and ant-like bodies scurrying along the streets that desperately needed paving but went ignored. Helipad in view, Elena tried her best to cling to that damned sample and her med kit and not look down. Look anywhere but down.
Trying not to control her stomach's lurching at the rather un-graceful landing, Elena scrambled for the door the first opportunity she could, opening it before the helicopter's blades even stopped spinning and stepping onto the roof, more shakily than she'd like to imagine. Word Count: 214

Rufus Shinra stood atop the building, awaiting the return of his precious minions. He was livid with his father for sending them on this meaningless errand in the first place, and was rather pleased to be getting them back. He watched as the helicopter descended, a half-smile pulled across his lips. He pulled it hands out of his pockets to give them a cheery greeting... or as cheery as he could be, anyway. It was a good thing he did too, because as the helicopter landed, the doors flew open, and Rufus' favorite minion stumbled out. He caught Elena by the arm and helped her steady herself. "Congratulations, you survived. Welcome home." He spoke blandly, underselling just how thrilled he was to see that she was alright, though the awkward pat on the back may have given it away.
He turned to the copter. "I trust the others are alive and well, also?" He called to the open door, awaiting a response from within. He turned to face Elena once more. "You can put that thing down now, it's safe here." Rufus' words held truth, but that wasn't why he wanted her to put the experiment down. He knew that whatever was in the box would be perfectly intact, but he also knew that the science department would make a fuss over it regardless. In actuality, by telling Elena to put to box down, he was really just trying to press Hojo's buttons. A smug look crossed his face, and he wondered for a moment whether he should let his beloved minions in on his little cross-department scrimmage.
