His fingers tingled with the cold dirt they touched, the earth moving slightly beneath their pressure. He pinched his fingers, taking a little dirt in his hands and rubbing them together. He loved the smell of the earth, loved to take in its scent and know that the people of the past were living and breathing in it. He stood, eyes taking in the forked roads before him- one led to darkness, the other to the coastal city of Daguerro, a place where the people were warm, the food rich and welcoming. It sounded pleasant, the wind in the grass beneath his feet almost whispering at him, enticing him to go to the city and rest, drink, and be merry. His eyes turned up to the sky as he took a deep breath, his lungs filling with the crisp, clean air of early morning. The sun had just peeked over the horizon, and was casting its glow across the earth in welcome.
Oh, how he longed to rest his feet, to sit and trade stories with the locals.
But he was here for a purpose, and he would accomplish what he came for.
He stuffed his hands in the pockets of his jacket, the fur around the rim blowing gently against his face. He wished he could feel it, to let it glide through his hair. His pants were different- baggy, but not really jeans. They were perfect for leg movement and gave him a balanced area in combat. His shoes were snug and warm- he had dressed for the cold, but prepared for the worst.
He bent, picking up what appeared to be a small backpack, carrying some food, supplies, and clothes. He took another deep breath and began walking down the path to the left, off toward the wilderness. He had come, alone, to investigate a rumor of magic and possibility, of exploding white lights and dead legends. He was prepared to find whatever this legend was- for the soul purpose of continuity. He needed power and abilities, dead languages and items to breach his way through the overbearing, corrupted ring of world government. He would do this for himself, to be sure, but in the end it would be for the greater good. And, even if there was nothing for him in the end, and its just something powerful trying to cause havoc- well, he would still save the planet, as it were, and could continue on down the path he had set before his feet.
He reached up, removing the glasses from his eyes to clean them before placing them back on his face. He knew it was unlikely that anyone would even see him, so he could in fact remove the glasses, but he would rather not take the risk. You never knew when someone could come from no where. also carried with him his brass knuckles, which could mold and shape themselves when word- for instance, into spikes gliding over his knuckles. He rolled his shoulders, approaching what most of the people on this continent refferred to as "The Wild land" or "Wilderness".
Whatever you called it, he could feel the danger there, yet still his footsteps led him forward.

Only a rumour had brought you here but what a powerful rumour it had been, if only the words of a stranger could draw you to this god forsaken place known as the lost continent then the rumour must have some merit. You were prepared as best as you could be but you had no idea of what you could face on this journey, this place was lost to what people would call civilisation only merchants on their travels and some small villages were here. There was such a deathly silence around the area it was unnerving but you had the feeling you weren't alone, the wind gently blew through your hair almost suggesting which way you should travel first.
"You know being out here alone isn't the best idea."
Her voice came out of nowhere suprising you, turning around you were greeted to the sight of a woman. Dressed in a long white dress with long ringleted blonde hair that bounced off her shoulders as she walked towards you. With her blue eyes she looked directly into yours, she was slim and slender almost petite really but there was something else about her.
He stopped, planting both feet rather gingerly on the ground- it was surprising, to say the least, that a woman could sneak upon him without making so much as a sound, but not unlooked for. He half pivoted left, so his left side would be facing this new, enchanting young face. His eyes played over her quickly- not that she could see him doing it, as his head didn't move. He assumed several things right off the bat. For one- she came from a place that apparently had money, her hair and dress not seemingly fashioned for travel. Two, she spoke as though she knew the roads well, and judging by her light footsteps she had been watching him for quite some time. Not that it mattered where she was from, he would always play the casual host, and though to welcome her on his journey.
"Mmm, so I'm told." He glanced around briefly, pushing back his hood so as to open his field of vision from tunnel to peripheral. Nothing as far as he knew...He looked back to her.
"But i guess if its good enough for a lone woman, its good enough for me." He used the hand not holding his bag to gesture to her in question. "Then again, i can't see you coming here all by yourself- there are others nearby, aren't there?" It was his experience to always expect the unexpected, and having this fine dressed, thin, beautiful girl come from the wind for a simple warning was not likely- either she was with a traveling caravan, or was a demon of the isle. Either way, he was on edge, prepared should she happen to be the bait that lured unsuspecting travelers and men into a trap that would lead to certain death.
He cracked his neck.
If, by chance, she smiled or nodded at his inquiry, he would take a deep breath.
"Well, why don't you tell them to join us instead of watch us from afar?"
Again, he made plenty of assumptions, but he knew it wasn't likely she would come here all alone, and the individuals she was with could be anywhere...hell, they could already be with her for all he knew, so, though he appeared relaxed, inside he was tense, and he waited for the reply he knew he probably wasn't going to like.
If, however, she claimed to be all alone, then he would give a slight grunt before delving a bit deeper.
"Really- well then, tell me. Why would someone who looks and dresses as you do appear from nowhere to warn someone who looks and dresses like me?" His voice was not cold or harsh, but simply accepting, as though his fate had been decided long ago. He would not accuse her of anything, and perhaps she was just trying to be kind, but suspicion kept you alive and he definitely planned to see the dawn. So, instead of keeping quiet or trying to outrun her, he would accept whatever she came to do. Even- even if she meant to rob him.

The woman's face scrunched up as you persistantly made the assumption she wasn't alone, her long ringleted blonde hair waved gently with the breeze. There was almost hurt in her eyes as you kept questioning her but there was something else...perhaps confusion. She took a few steps towards you her long white dresse wrapping around her slender legs, her slim arms held behind her back.
"Ummmm....who else are you talking to?"
The woman looked around the surrounding area trying to spot who you assumed she was with, it was all silent and nothing stirred apart from you and her. That deathly silence still hung in the air clinging to your ears, maybe she was just on her own here. There were still many unanswered questions about her like her name, what was her reason for being here? Did you care about any of that? Or was your reason for being here greater than you human nature?
"I think maybe you are a little confused with travelling, my name is Larina by the way....are you looking for someone or something."
Her insistence that she was alone only made him far more internally suspicious of her, his guard flaring the closer she came. He was no fool, and her own words caused mixed thoughts in his head. He caught her name, running it over carefully in his mind. He didn't remember anyone by that name, at least not anyone who could still be living. He wasn't confused, though he did feel like calling her out on a few issues in her logic. For one, there were only a few small villages here, and maybe one city, but most or all were far enough away that he walking here in a dress that was totally untainted by the wild was unlikely. Second, she gave her name, then immediately reference to his hunting for something which caused him a little worry. Luckily for him, he wore the bandages and glasses, for his facial expressions were utterly hidden.
"Micheal- and i'm looking for the flash without shadow."
He grinned.
The flash without shadow happened to be a reference to a rather brilliant light that had flared some time ago, a massive amount of energy pouring from an area of this lost civilization. Most would expect him to just avoid the topic she was obviously referring to- and likely as not, she would probably feel the same. However, he had no need to hide his intentions from this woman- she would either be evil and try to kill him, in which case he would welcome the challenge, or she would wonder at his sudden bluntness. He tilted his head a little.
"So, now you know my purpose- what is yours? You say your alone. There are no cities nearby, and your dress is hardly travel worn- how is it that a woman who looks as you do could make it all the way out here without so much as breaking a sweat?" He shrugged. "Thats just one observation- perhaps your just incredibly clean. Regardless of that, however, i still wonder as to why your venturing this far into the wilds, and why you would approach someone who...looks like i do?"
Yeah...to him, he had good cause for being wary, and so far she had done nothing to assuage his suspicion.

"Why wouldn't I approach you? You are hardly the strangest or scariest creature I have met in my lifetime, and just because my 'dress' does not seem travel worn it does not mean I have not travelled before. As a matter of fact this place...this world is my homeland."
Her voice had changed from quiet and friendly to a more stern and serious tone, Larina crossed her arms over her chest while looking at you with an unimpressed expression. The wind picked up slightly moving the dirt around the ground and rustling your clothes, perhaps a storm was on its way but that still wouldn't change why you were here. Larina on the other hand seemed entirely focused on you her blue eyes stared at you with no intent of moving away.
"Well Michael I doubt you can find your way around this place on your own...so I suggest you start being a little more trusting to someone who as been friendly all this time and who can lead you to a town for supplies and rest."
Quite blunt and to the point for someone she had just met, maybe your first impressions of her were completely off. Still, there was a lot to learn about her and it seemed that she wasn't about to leave.
The sound seemed to move inside his head, a grunt that was thought without sound. He smiled a bit, though again it wouldn't be seen. She seemed to be either genuine, or a very good liar. He took a deep breath, running over what she had said in his mind. This world was her home- so that insinuated several things. Either she had lived in several different places and was actually very used to travel, or she was a spirit of the planet, in which case he would feel horrible for offending her. Either way, he was sure he wasn't about to find out soon, and being the patient individual he was, he would accept that she seemed to be stuck with him, for what purpose he was unsure. He tilted his head a little, acknowledging the fact that she hadn't responded to his claim of purpose, but instead of drawing attention to it, he would let it slide.
He sighed, almost resigningly, looking off into the area around them once more before turning his gaze back to her face.
"Very well- my apologies, im new to this continent, and so far everyone i have met has caused me to be wary and overly suspicious of everyone."
He did mean what he said, however his suspicion was still present, and he had no intention of letting his gaurd down around her. He reached up, scratching the area of bandages that was his chin before speaking.
"Well. I can't say im eager to head for any towns, as im currently hunting for something." He paused. "I heard rumor of a bright light, flashing from an area everyone seems reluctant to talk about. Do you know about it?"
He knew, in his head, it was foolish for him to reveal such information, but in truth it was nothing you couldnt hear on the street. So, unless she meant him harm, she wouldn't care if he was looking for it, and she might actually be able to help him. He heard a snapping, like someone stepping on a stick, and before she could answer he held up a hand.
"Shh."
He stared out around them, trying to pinpoint where the sound had come from. He constantly felt on edge here, like someone was always watching and stalking him, and it made him uncomfortable that the girl had been able to come up behind him. None could do that, at least as of yet in his life. Perhaps she had just appeared there, but what kind of individual had that power? He lowered his hand.
"Sorry- again, im on edge. Perhaps we should talk someplace else, or at least while we walk."

Larina looked around the area when you shushed her, it wasn't ideal to tell a woman to be silent but in this case Larina let it slide. Her hand went towards her weapon which you hadn't really noticed before, looking more closely you could see that attached to her back was a bow and arrows. Ah perhaps a huntress of sorts maybe that was what she was doing out here, normally it was the men that hunted but of course in this day and age men and women could do each others jobs.
"I think heading to a town would be a good idea for you, that is if you want to find the Gateway."
Walking towards you Larina lightly grabbed your arm and began to gently pull you away, it was then you both heard it.Quite a loud growl from behind you, Larina closed her eyes letting out a quiet groan. Turning around she opened her eyes which were greeted by a pack of Alpha Wolves. Much bigger than ordinary wolves and even more dangerous, with red fur on their heads and tails they snarled bearing their sharp teeth and fangs. Slowly pulling her bow around and taking out an arrow Larina glanced to you and then back to the wolves.
"We have company....let's use this time to get to know each other better."
He sighed as they stopped, the growling behind him indicating exactly what he feared. He turned, his left side now facing his adversary as he stared from behind the goggles. These beasts were fierce, terribly opponents, and he appraised them admirably but without fear. They were gorgeous, and he had not seen one for quite some time. He understood them, and their ways, and so he began walking toward the one in front. Thier name was aptly given- they were dominate among their kind, and they were proud. They treated an enemy with respect before they killed them, and so he would do the same. He would give them a chance to flee before he tore them to shred, literally with his bare hands. He cracked his neck, unzipping his coat and letting it fall to the ground. He took off his shirt, revealing a heavily toned but utterly covered-by-bandages frame. He stopped, staring down at the animal with a mild curiosity.
"Run, proud wolf, and save your pack for another day."
With that, he let his aura sla down around everyone present, spikes of blue behind his goggles shining from his irises and into his opponents emotion.
((Activation:Resolving Aura-This ability causes a sudden amount of pressure to crash in around his opponents, making them very aware that he is both hostile and actually approaching. Think of it as Gravity increasing to a massive extent, making you feel like something is slamming down on your shoulders, and the earth is pulling you to the ground, or trying to. The purpose of this is to instill fear in his opponents, and to causes awareness. This causes Micheal's iris' to glow blue slightly, and increases the amount an individual must post to counter. Effect: Causes Micheals iris' to glow blue, giving him a regal look. When activated, His body seems sketchy, sort of shaky.
Effect: Fear on opponent. Cannot be eliminated, but can be controlled by amount of CA or MA owned. If 2 are owned, can be relatively controlled. If more then that amount, can be kept under total control (Due to level 1 status).
Consequence: Micheal's presences is known when he does this.
Consequence: Due to effect of Gravity pulling on individuals body, and pressure crashing around them, individuals speed is slightly lowered. Enemy recieves +10% increase to post count to counter.))
He would stare down at the monsters, waiting for them to wisely run away- if, however, it stood and growled, or even attacked, he would return the favor with a blunt force. If assault from this beast was eminent, his hands would whip from his pockets, brass knuckles with spiked ends slamming up under its jaw, burying two inches into its skull from below. He would turn with the force of its jump, whipping his arms around to hurl it off into a field before preparing to start in on the other wolves with a grin of malicious and evil intent- he would kill them all.
"DIE, DOGS!"

Placing her bow back on her back Larina bit her bottom lip as she looked you up and down, turning slightly red she quickly turned away from you. It was begining to get colder as the day wore on and you were still no further forward to reaching your goal, you still had the feeling you weren't alone. Larina didn't seem too bothered though as she began to walk slowly away from you.
"Well......come on if you want to get to this town before nightfall, I don't suggest you stay out here in the dark it's not safe."
Larina then turned her head back to you as she walked winking with a slight smile on her face, you thought for a moment she let out a giggle but that would only be assuming. It would be best to head to the town following Larina, otherwise you would be looking for a needle in a haystack.
