Journal of August Krasnow: In Search of the ‘Gateway’.
”After encountering that creature in Lindblum, I begun researching through my various tomes on ancient history of Gaia in hopes of uncovering something that would suggest the origin of the beast. My research lead me to the same result, a passing reference to a ‘Gateway XXVI’ and the word ‘Remnants’, however the trail ends cold there. What I did find out was indications that the Lost Continent was the source of these rumors and obscure references – so that is where I went. I know not what to expect, but I won’t let the opportunity to find out more information about the beast pass me by without at least attempting. Perhaps I can write of it later, and shed further light on the matter for anyone that may come after me. On top of all those noble aspects of this trek, a beast of that caliber must have behind it some incredible powers and just perhaps, there may be some of that for the taking through this ‘Gateway’, whatever it may be.”
The Hijrah came to a rest outside Wutai, one of the few major spots of civilization in the region. August believes that perhaps someone here, among these so-called ninja’s and ‘honorable’ thieves, may know something of this ‘Gateway XXVI’. He entered into the ancient town with Kane beside him, who is carrying the Eastern Star clandestinely inside a black case. What August finds in the town are few people who either don’t speak the common tongue or ignoring August as a strange outsider, some peculiar creature they are unsure about. He somehow should have expected this, isolated places like this were always the same. The town wasn’t very large either and it took only a half hour to cross its entirety, and he still found no information concerning the Gateway – just a few tourist shops with overpriced novelties being peddled. Come here and finding nothing, August decides that he’ll at least make the stop worthwhile, so he decides a hike through the nearby Da-Chao mountains would be a pleasant end to an otherwise failed expedition.
After a short climb of about an hour, up the winding path, through the lower junction and left hand of the carved monolith, August comes to a stop on the far right hand for a quick rest, overlooking the tiny town of Wutai below. “You know, from up here, the town actually looks quite lovely, not nearly the decaying tourist trap that it at first appeared. So Kane.” He turns to face is assistant. “Where do you think we should go next? My idea has seemed to fail, so lets try yours.” Kane just stands there, static as a statue, not saying a word. “Ah, your insight is always so valuable. You know, if I wished to hire a mute, I’d of hired a mute. Fine, fine.” He turns back to the cliffs edge. “I’ll think of something then.”

A small fragile was sitting within the resturant, she was snaking on something it seemed but suddenly a burning voice flowed through her ears, causing hr to look around the room they weren't in here they were farther, closing her eyes slowly the very world around he began to flow away. She saw the way to the mountain, the very path the other had taken while Mihr, sat within the restaurant silently as she saw the other his voice was frustrated but she heard isolation and lonelyness. As she just smiled. This was the angel of friendship she went by the alias of Mitsukai, which meant angel within this land. As she smiled softly and placed some gil down upon the table. As she slowly rose upwards she had a tiny body, once she had been a beautiful curvy woman, but that was her curse, she was taking the form where friendship seemed to the most. It was that of a child one who had always been alone. She was still beautiful but childish. As she slowly walked towards the exit of the resutrant. She smiled at the server and they seemed to lose track of the world and crashed into someone else. This was one of her abilities charm and cuteness. As she moved there was something that was different about this child, she had tattoos flowing along her back, they were tears, and the marks of the angels that she had once been friends with, each formed a symbol which rippled like a panther when she moved.
As she moved the soft sound of her geta's clicking against the ground, her yukata clung nicely to her body and her weapon in this form that she had willed it was a paper latern which glowed gently. It's true form no one knew quite yet as she began to run pushing off the ground leaping far higher then any normal person should of been capable of. The ground had actually cracked slightly where she had pushed off. She had surprising strength and speed due to her lack of using the art of deception and magic. Soon her glowing lattern would be within the view of the other as she stepped gently along the view of the other before smiling softly. As she sat infront of the statue and stared at him her gaze was soft by caring.

Almost immediately Kane took a defensive posture as this strange little girl appeared before them in a most peculiar manner. She seemed as if a child, innocent and lonely yet something strange about her, her mannerisms, the authoritative manner in which she spoke and the audacity she had to confront two grown men such as August and Kane. August stops Kane from confronting the little girl with a slap with the back of his hand to Kane’s chest. “Down boy, it is just a lonely, lost, little girl.” He looks to the young girl and approaches in a friendly manner; he kneels down to better look the girl in the eyes, unthreatening.
“You are quite cheeky, approaching two scary looking gentlemen such as ourselves all alone.” August’s eyes scan the girl, looking her over carefully, taking in all her intricacies. This, he concluded, was no ordinary girl, not in the least. She was something supernatural, a being not of the mortal realm yet not a demon or devil. Perhaps, he concludes to himself, she is something from the other side of the celestial spectrum. “I am looking for answers to questions unknown. To find that question which leads to all answers, known and unknown. The truth in whispers spoken on the breaths of ghosts from ages past. You know where I can find such questions so I may ask the answers I seek?” He decided to be vague in his response, to see the entity’s reaction. This ‘Gateway’ is riddle in of itself, therefore, the questions are assuredly riddles in of themselves. If this entity is indeed tied to the riddle of the ‘Gateway XXVI’.

As she approached she watched as the other seemed to take a defensive posture, Her one hand closing along the string of the cloth covered lantern, she was ready to brandish her true weapon if needed. She wasn't a novice when it came to killing despite being the angel of friendship. Some friendships came to a bitter end, a tragic death an accident it was all a lie. It was the work of an angel who realized that friendship was just another lie. That man known as Kane looked like he was about ready to lunge until she heard the dull sound of something thudding against the other man's chest so they were a bit abusive to one another but it ceased the fight that could of happened. As a soft breeze flowed through the area, Her deeply blackened hair seemed to flow gently and spiral around her body ever so slightly giving her the appearance of a living shadow. While she just stood there and stared at them as her overly large yukata sleeves seemed to flicker within the gentle wind. As she stared at the one man he wasn't like the other. They were all quite wierd. The words the other spoke made sense unfortunately she didn't know the way but the path towards it.
"I know the path, but not the location of what you seek. It is a long journey are you willing to follow me into the darkness and even the light and fight to defend me as I act as your guide?"
August nods, knowing full well the extent of such endeavors undertaken with entities not of this world. The situation surrounding this contract was indeed weird and strange; the creature appeared seemingly from nowhere and offered it assistance to find the ‘path’ towards illumination on the matter of the ‘Gateway’. Wherever it may lead, it did not trouble August, he’s fought demons, he’s battled monsters the size of towers and is not above doing what he perceives needs to be done to achieve the his desires and goals.
“Then guide me, peculiar child. I have already transverse through the darkness that stride from world to world and the light does not strike fear into me. Lead on and show me the way, we will protect you.” August stands then, turning back to Kane, assuring him that everything is within order and not to fret over the budding situation. “You don’t mind assisting in the protection of another, do you Kane?” He smirks, “I’m sure it’s not above your abilities.”
He turns back to the child and nods approvingly, “I am August, August Krasnow. What is it I shall know you as and where do we begin?”

This child before him smiled as she focused slowly her tattoos rippled and her wings slowly began to break from her skin as if they were always there while these wings had various stakes which had engravements of the demonic language upon them. She showed no shame as they emerged and turned and would begin to walk away. But as she moved something could be heard it was one of the emotions that everyone had it was JEALOUSY. This was a creature who was known to keep hunting their prey no matter how far they ran as she braced herself from an attack. She hadn't expected where Jealousy came from. Jealousy burst from the earth in a shower of metal and rock sneding the child flying back head smacking the ground pretty hard as she landed at August's feet. Her eyes were open until she hit the ground her eyes closed and her body went slightly limp. She was unconsious as indicated by the small trickle of blood flowing down her one temple. A rather hyena like laugh filled the air. It sounded so gentle but was laced with an undeniable malice as the figure emerged completely from the ground the view of something was shocking. The creature was beautiful almost enchanting but it was a twisted creature. As when it spoke that soft aluring voice filled the air but there was a constant edge of hatred and rage. It was drawn out as she remained to the shadows waiting for them to make the move.
"Awwie damn she ruined my fun.... guess your next."
