Minara walked accross the vast grassy planes of Veldt, the wind blowing behind him whisking his hair out infront of him. He enjoyed the quiet times he could spend in beautiful places and he considered this a rather beautiful place. There a was grass for miles in every direction, and far off in the distance to the left were mountains, just barely visible from where he was. Minara decided now would be a good time to sit and enjoy his time in this peaceful place before going onto the next town which would probably be very busy and noisy. Minara sat on the grass, his knees tucked up and rested his head on them.
Minara took a deep breath and sighed, he loved to be outside, there was nothing like it to him. His wings were spread out as to block some of the sun that was behind him, it was still very early in the morning, the sun had only just risen above the horizon line and was making long shadows everywhere. Minara brushed the grass with his left hand, as if stroking a pet, then he decided to write down in his diary about what had happened to him yesturday. Not alot had happened to him yesturday except that he had come across a very strange animal, it looked like a horse with a curved horn that reach almost the back of its head.
Minara hadn't know the name of the animal but he did like to look at it and it didn't seem to mind him being there. But it had walked off after a few minutes after hearing a sound which didn't seem to frighten it. Minara had assumed that it was more of the animal calling for it but he wasn't sure of that either. Minara had even included a little sketch of the animal in his diary so that he could ask someone what it was called. Minara's eyes scanned the horizon, seeing nothing he returned to his diary.
Most people probably would have though of having a diary was pointless but this was his diary, he hadn't been travelling for very long and he wanted to write everything down he wanted to remember, including how long it had taken him to walk, or in some cases fly, from place to place and the route he had taken. Minara was feeling extremely happy about today, he thought it would be a good day. Minara yawned a bit, he hadn't been awake very long and was still on the verge of sleep. He closed his eyes and pictured some of the things he had seen, before he knew it, he opened his eyes and the sun was directly above. How could I have fallen asleep?
