It was so cold! The place had the feel of cold and the wind was so strangely chilly, he'd traveled far wearing the same clothes he had when he left, it hadn't been long since he left but it was enough time to make him feel alone again. He would buy a coat now when he could, the desert was NEVER this cold even at night. He glanced down to Sync nestled in his bag asleep very comfortable on his rolled up sleeping bag 'well at least someones happy' he thought, sighing and glancing around, it was a lake and lots of undergrowth but it was silent, he shook his head "i should have bought a map" he muttered stupidly looking around at the darkened place 'oh well at least there's water and i can stop here to rest' he thought, then suddenly springing to mind 'dinner! there doesn't seem to be any animals around at all... looks like fruit' luckily he had put some in his bag before he left and was only using them for emergency situations.
He put his bag on the ground and left Sync inside so if anyone picked it up Sync would go for them, he looked around for sticks anything to use as firewood, after his feet getting soaked and a lot of snapping he got some damp firewood and put them in a pile. 'ok here goes' he sat and thought strongly and tried to remember what he was meant to do pointing his fingers to wards the branches "come on light" he muttered but nothing happened "ARRGH i give up!" he shouted kicking a rock into the water 'oh ye the fire comes when I'm in the house' he thought sourly opening his bag and bringing out a flint and he started to scratch it with a rock, soon enough the branches were alight with warmth and he was drying his feet. He stared at the fire his red eyes glittering, he always thought he could see shapes moving in the fire, they were beautiful always so free.
Sync woke with a screech and the sun was just starting to go down "OK mate i know your hungry" he reached into his bag under the hawk and got out a little bag, he pulled at a tail to reveal a dead mouse and held it for his friend who flew up onto his arm and took it flying to the ground and devouring it. He watched him and laughed "slow down or your gonna getting a stomach ache" he joked. He leaned back on his arms his feet near the fire as he looked to the darkening sky and thought 'i wonder how far till the next town... i wonder if we'll make it that far i haven't any money at all... guess we'll survive with my cleaning services' he shook his Head hating the thought already. He ran his hand through his grey hair shaking dew from his hair, he then suddenly span round, he heard something move he was sure of it, but slowley turned back to the fire relaxing again.
The patch he was in was luckily dry so he got out his sleeping bag rolling it on the floor and he laid down staring at the sky once more, for some reason something didn't feel right, as the fire danced into the sky it seemed quiet still too quiet. He laid there awake until he felt syncs beak push his face he looked at him and petted his head gently as it settled next to him. maybe he was just being suspicious.

The nearly most hated person in the Universe walked through the mud and whatever ungodly things laid there as he made his way through the undergrowth that insisted on growing right here, right here where he needed to be! Shinra be damned! If they didn't exist he wouldn't be here, digging into some dark hole for a creature that presumably had escaped, with or without help of someone else. His upper-lip pulled up lightly as the corners of said lips twisted down. It was disgusting, utterly disgusting! He couldn't curse them enough, not enough at all.
His long fingered hand was buried into his pocket, trying in vain to keep it warm as he tried to keep at least his weapons at hand. The vials there reassured him more than anything else could, but it wasn't enough, never was. He shook his head lightly then, scowling more "Blasted cold.." He muttered for good measure, maybe it would take the hint and allow his surroundings to become warmer. It wasn't going to happen however and left him sour and damning Shinra further as he made his way further. The sight of water could have cheered him up.
He only kept looking at it dirtily. His dark gaze traveled upward, before they looked around. He didn't spot anything instantly, but when he did his eyes came alight with a curious light. He took a small step forward, closer to the man and his.. creature. Hojo's lips twisted upward now. This day maybe would become better now, if he could make subjects out of them. He was researching a way to combine animal DNA with humans after all before he was interrupted and send here!!
This seemed like the best chance he would get in a while. He pulled his hand out of his coat and releasing the small objects there. He placed them behind his back then and slowly blinked "Well..." He mused out loud, it didn't mean that he was interested that he would play nice "I didn't know that Shinra had send out another lap-dog.." There wasn't much reason for anyone else to be around here, so he automatically assumed this. He would be damned if he was wrong, though.... he was damned already, cursed many times by many people as they loathed him, just like he loathed them.
The bag was a curious thing as well, what could be hidden in there? His eyes slowly turned to it, keeping one eye on the two living beings. He realized that he indeed had to convince them, or not... it depended on if he liked them. To become his test-subjects, they would get a nice live. The combined creature, or what was left of it would be threated as a nice puppy-dog. Sadly, he hadn't much patience for them, if they would get in his care he would either put them down or experiment with those.
He had finally started drifting off sync keeping him company in his sleeping bag, but suddenly sync saw something and cawed flapping its wings but not getting up knowing bay wasn't full awake but of course that woke him up making his half asleep limbs immediatly yet clumsily jump into attention jumping out theslepping dagger his hand by his pocket where his dagger was snug ready to be unleashed he was crouched ready for an attack but instead 'a creepy guy in a lab coat?' he thought looking around. He seemed to be alone, he wondered why, but that would mean there had to be a town enarby! 'hey maybe this isn't so bad he thought at first but him mind quickly changed at the guys tone let alone what he said "who you calling a lap-dog old man!" he snapped well that was quick. Sync flew up onto bays shoulder and cawed at the stranger feeling the tension and anger towards him already sync new he couldn't be friend.
The heat by the fire behind him gave him the feeling of being trapped with his back against the wall but ofcourse that wasn't actually what was happening. His rbaeths were steady "whats your name? what do you want" he stated deciding he'd rather get lost again rather then take directions from this guy, the way he was looking at him was making his blood boil, the way he looked DOWN on him. he glanced to his back moveing towards it just incase, he knowna few thieves to disguise themselves as eomthing else to make you calm then jumped you.
His hair was a little dewing and his arms and legs a little grubbing from the dirt of travelling. Sync however was a healthy clean and well fed bird, flying most of the way obviously hadn't the probelm with dirt. But it cawed at the professor again. "i don't like you so leave" he said straightening out moving his hand away from his pocket slowley moving down and picking up his sleeping bag and rolling it fast putting it into his bag, the hawks eyes not leaving the professors for one second, Bay had left his dagger but was no where near relaxed his guard was way up. So much for a peaceful nights sleep.
His eyes zeroed on the other male once more "What should your other purpose be then?" He questioned, the sneer on his face and voice more apparent and then the old comment. He was maybe old, but not That old yet! He also appeared younger than he really was, thanks to the Jenova cells really. He walked closer slowly, the coat moving lightly in the wind "If there's another to begin with." He really would've hated if he was Shinra, but seeing the denial, or not so denial of the other. He hesitated.
His eyes blinked slowly from behind those glasses as that question was aimed at me "Me?" He spoke, voice raising lightly in pitch "I am Professor Hojo." His eyes narrowed "And you better remember it, kid.." He was angry enough to resort back to 'kid', although he never used it. The only one he had used it more than once with was Sephiroth and then it was only to be used in cursing. He had started to loathe the word, like he again loathed a lot. They never left him alone!
It wasn't asked for too much was it? His thoughts where interrupted once more as the younger male spoke. He laughed shortly "Leave?" He spoke, really sounding as if he thought it ridiculous from the start "Oh no." He then continued speaking "My job here isn't quite done.." He looked ready to laugh again as Bay thought that he would leave like that, hah! What a joke. He shook his head lowly and closed his eyes, moving his hands, one took off the glasses and one pinched his nose-bridge.
A curious thing, he didn't speak that long with the other and he was already pissed. He still had to ask that oh so important question "Say... are you interested in a job, kid?" It wasn't so subtle as he always did, but this looked like someone that preferred right out what he meant. The kid was also spoken as if he questioned the other for his name, but that he didn't want to ask That right out and preferred to let the youth give it from his own willing mouth. He wouldn't be so unwilling anymore if he finished with him!
'purpouse? whats with this fruitcake?' he thought standing properly again "my 'purpouse is to get some sleep before more travelling thank you" he said sarcasticly. Sync flew up and landed in a tree watching him closley. Bay snorted "proffesor lunkhead if you ask me" he muttered picking up his bag. The way he replied he didn't like. He really sounded interested in him which was something he didn't like "look..." he stopped as he suddenly asked a question 'a job?' he crossed his arms and leaned his head back lightly as if checking himself "what is this job?" he asked.
'ok so maybe i could get some money out of this it would do for now.'"and whats the pay?" he asked, again smirking lightly "anyway what brought a brainbox like you into the forest? Not like you guys, aren't you meant to lock yourselves in a lab doing creepy experiments?" he laughed finding the thought pretty funny, these guys to him were just weird but stil it would be good to have a job for a little while. He had no feeling to say his name, why should he!? this guy could find him a bit easier then.
Sync suddenly lost it, maybe because of the tension or because he was being himself always causing more trouble he dived at the man in the lab coat cawing and aiming to give him a good scratch on his face but lifted a bit higher so he only just scraped the guys hair landing on bays shoulder. He was warning him don't mess with them, sync was more then a pet he was a loyal friend always watching out for bay, even if bay didn't realize sometimes.

He ignored the insults with practiced ease, the tips of his fingers coming to rest against each other. He wouldn't admit it, but his patience was running thin. He would have to find something to make him shut up, or at least make his voice grate lesser against his nerves. That annoyed him the most, the voice and the attitude, yes.. He would simple cut the boy's tongue out, that would silence him rather efficiently. His lips curled up in a rather wicked smile as he looked at the other still, at the questions asked however he looked up.
"What for work?" He questioned, as if not understanding the other. He then laughed shortly, the sound harsh on the nerves. He slowly shook his head then and took the glasses from his nose "Just doing stuff, carrying things and the like.." He replaced his glasses and adjusted them once more. His dark brown eyes gleaming with a wicked light that he couldn't hide. The delight that it maybe would work to get him as an experiment! He was snapped back however at the new question, he slowly blinked as if disbelieving.
"Payment?" He echoed slowly. He paused as if considering the question, how much would it give him? He finally decided on an answer, maybe not the one Bay liked to hear "That depends on how well you do your job." He finally spoke And on how well you serve me. He thought silently You will be my private gold mine, made for the kill and hired to men that can pay for it. He nearly chuckled again, it was a wondrous plan and he needed to do it and quick!
His eyes widened slightly as the bird flew to him and he cursed lowly Blasted bird, don't ruin it for me! He thought, quickly diving away, but it didn't help that the talons still clipped his hair. He scowled and his eyes focused once more on the human "I was send here." He spoke softly, sounding rather irritate, because of that fact. It seemed that the other was somewhat true, he indeed liked the scenario of the creepy, cold laboratory better than this swamp that dirtied his shoes! A disaster! A simple disaster!
He looked at the other harshly, maybe as if trying to use some mysterious force he didn't have and try to convince him somehow. His eyes still burned with the wicked flame, his hands clasped beneath his back as he sank further into the mud with his shoes. The breeze still blowing ruffled his -already tousled by the bird's claws- hair. He made a rather horrifying scene, not that one would have dared to admit it if he was still in Shinra, but this was the outside. He found that no one knew him. It would change soon..
'hmm well i suppose thats ok... but something really doesn't feel right " he thought inwardly watching the mans movements they were oddly freaky but considering he was broke he didn't see too much of a problem however he could feel tension radiating off sync. he didn't like this man and bay always trusted him 'ok i'll only work there for two days then we'll move on' he decided nodding to himself deciding he'd let sync fly around adn find some food while he did some work wasn't so bad.
"well then i guess working there for a few days will be ok then" he said but you could see he was still a little on edge this guy just had something wrong with him the way he smiled, the way he put his fingers together, the way he laughed, Bay decided to ignore his feeling and decided he'd follow him back and start some work early might as well get it done and over with right?
Bay glanced up at sync "hey cool it buddy" he muttered and as if on que the hawk flattened its ruffled feathers and relaxed on his shoulder. Bay stroked his chest feathers and picked up his bag "considering i haven't got a map would you mind showing me the way?" he said hating to ask but knowing for once he really had to ask for help. Bays eyes were a rbight red, a fire burning behind them with no vengance or anger however, even though his parents were dead he didn't find any reason to be, they fought till the end like they wanted, against sin yet he didn't feel any anger to that creature either, he often thought of sin as a creature brought into this world and eventually driven amd, humans often made there own enemies. But those enemies often lasted a very long time.
He looked reading to go, the ground was lighter where he'd put his sleeping bag and moved next to the guy "are we going or what?" he said moving ahead of him so he didn't feel as helpless following him.
He chuckled lowly again as the other was eager to depart He wouldn't be so eager when I've finished with him.. He thought lightly, inwardly delighted. He moved his hands lightly, the fingers bending almost in an unnatural way. He already could see himself experiment on this fine body of the specimen. He turned his eyes briefly to the sky, trying to guess the time without looking at the watch on his thin wrist "Not so fast." He finally decided to speak "I still have to finish here.." He smiled thinly once more.
He turned then and walked deeper into the mud, not that he really liked it. He should and would finish his task. He wasn't someone that stopped experimenting of a sudden, only Vincent Valentine -another fine specimen- was stopped, because of Lucrecia. He loathed her now, although seeing now it actually had worked. He was sure that the man would die, but she managed to bring him back to live, somewhat. The man hated him with a passion, thinking that he had stolen his precious Lucrecia from him! Hah! What a joke, really. He shook his head lightly and dug into his pocket.
He searched for the map that the other had asked. It wasn't out of niceness that he did this, but then the boy would go to Shinra and he would have to ask his assistants to keep him there as he finished up around here. It was a rather good plan, he had to say so himself. He finally pulled the paper out, small rips and bit of dirt clearly told that it was well used. He folded it open and without a care placed it on the ground. He looked around briefly, searching for the Midgar Continent.
He finally tapped his finger on the paper, the continent quite far away, especially seeing how far it was from the Shinra building "You can wait for me there, or come with me." He spoke, offering it. It would be more handy if the other decided to go there of course "But remember that I can't pay you directly here, I think that's the most important thing.." He first had to convince Shinra actually, to give him money so that he could actually experiment on the other.
Bay frowned 'oh come on!' he thought sourly. 'This guy really likes pushing it doesn't he?' he thought and crossed his arms "but don't i have to wait until you get tehre if i get there before you i'll have to wait ages!" he almost whined 'considering the old geezer probably only walks a mile an hour.' he thought rubbing his head and syn flew up again, sync didn't like this human he didn't feel right he had a horrible look and every movement was twisted and wrong. He had a evil glint that made syncs feathers fluff. He cawed looking over them and flying aorund.
Bay grounded lightly "look i need some cash to get on a boat ok but i havne't got time for this so either you want me to work for you or not i'm not waiting around" he snapped he hated waiting let alone waiting to work he just wanted to get on with it be payed then leave. He need money as soon as possible in the enxt few days would be good so that was it, he could find work elsewhere he was a trained blacksmith but with no kiln or enough metal it was no good for a decent weapon yet. He rubb d his head and pushed his fingers through his pretty greasy and stuck up hair.
"how long will your work take i'll help you with it if you want but only if it will make you speed up" he said simply if he said no then Bay would walk to the meeting spot wait for three hours then leave anyway. He wasn't patient but he was pretty tired only having about two hours sleep.'better be damn worth it' he thought before yawning.

He shrugged his shoulders "It's your own choice." He spoke and contradicting what Bay had said he walked away. It wasn't the one mile a hour thing, it was a lot quicker, surprisingly. He would have been one mile a hour, but he wanted to be done here as quick as possible and if he kept dwindling he had to stay longer and get his shoes dirty. A soft irritated growl escaped him as the boy tried to push him into some direction he didn't want to go Think again, boy. He hissed in his own mind.
He kept stalking through the mud and low shrubs that tended to grow around here. His coat was fluttering around him and made him that creepy-guy-with-a-lab-coat again. The glasses on his nose nearly fell and he took them off, once more to pinch the bridge of said nose. He hated such people and he wanted nothing more than to sew their mouth shut; they had to shut up! Didn't they understand that!
He finally found what he was searching, it was rather quick. He was surprised himself, but also suspicious. There would be some kind of monster around, or some protector of this. He took a step forward, testing the ground. He had the first task of the boy and chose to address him again "You can earn your money already by picking up that stone." He ordered. He looked briefly at the other and smirked, using a 'kick beneath the belt' "After all, I'm only an old man.." He looked at the stone again.
He hoped that it would be worth his time as well. It would be better that he could use it after Shinra was done with it. His dead heart would pump with excitement and a chuckle escaped him again.
He just couldn't wait.
He nearly snapped at the other to hurry on. He didn't want to be caught in whatever protected it, if there was something. His hands twisted in themselves and he clasped them tightly behind his back once more, his eyes narrowing behind the glasses.
The breeze didn't help to ease his worry. His gaze fluttered around quickly, but at seeing nothing his body wanted to relax. Only it wasn't allowed to do so. He remained tense and ready for anything that could attack him and that.... boy.
Bay had followed him fora while pretty much ignoring the look and the usual pinch to his nose. Bay was surprised by the mans pace really eh could keep up and was probably a little faster but not by much this guy was speeding along 'must be important' he wondered looking around boredly. He was a few inches from walking into him whent eh guy stopped, he looked around and then when asked he looked to the stone "we came all this way.... for a rock" he said rubbing his head 'oh mans o much for interesting' he groaned moving over to the rock and picking it up and turning to him "here you go old man one useless rock" He obviousl hadn't clue a what it was and didn't really care he yawned and started moving over to him when he felt the earth shake slightly and wizzed around "did you hear that?" he said suddenly on guard. Sync screeched and flew up.
He looked left to right but didn't see anything then the rumbling stopped thinking whatever it was had gone away he began to walk on again and handed the stone over "we got your stupid rock can we go" he said frowning.
Post by Professor Hojo on Dec 6, 2009 20:14:17 GMT
He felt the rumble and tensed lightly So I was right. He thought, when it was handed to him a nasty, too happy, smile spread over his lips "Finally!" He said, voice louder. It appeared a stone at first glance, and he didn't suspect otherwise but at a second glance and a better look it seemed more like some kind of metal, gleaming oddly in the light that still shone down. He had found it! Yet, he had to first hand it to Shinra, that blasted company! He swirled it between long fingers for a moment, before pocketing it and turning. He didn't offer a word as he walked away.
He just hoped that he would be quicker than whatever had made that sound. He could use it in his experiments as well, but first he had this boy and bird to deal with. He walked in the general direction from which he came, hoping that the boat and the men that brought him where still there "We can go indeed." He finally spoke, a safe distance from that place where they collected the stone from. His muscles where uncomfortable tense. Not that he would have expected otherwise, it seemed that he always had stress this days.
Bay didn't care about a rock so didn't even bother looking at it again, he didn't want to look at the guy more then he had to. His smile was just the creepiest thing he had ever seen! Bay was starting to think this guy had hoped wateever had rumbled would get him and that had put him on edge slightly however he attempted to keep his posture loose and relaxed even if sync had his feathers fluffed up watching the scientist like a hawk. Not taking his eyes off him for a second. Somehting was wrong but Bay tried to wave it off although a question was playing in his mind "why of all people would you ask a stranger you found in a forest to work for you?" he said not hiding his suspicion, well wouldn't anyone feel a bit weirded out offered a job from a total stranger.
shortly hearing the ocean beating against the soft sand he felt relieved it wouldn't be long before he would be in a warm building doing a basic job and hopefully getting some money. He saw a boat and few gruff looking guys that he immediatly didn't like they looked well payed for there work, he'd give them that but they just had a glint he just didn't like however he walked on following the scientist ignoring the glares and unsure looks he was getting. Sync relaxed slightly and flew out in the open sky loving being free to fly above them with no trees in the way. 'well at least someones happy' he thought smiling lightly.
Post by Professor Hojo on Dec 8, 2009 11:51:18 GMT
He turned his head but didn't stop walking as the other asked him the question. He raised an eyebrow in a 'are you really asking me that' way. He then shook his head lightly in an annoyed way, he really had to shut him up "Do you see someone else around here?" He finally questioned ironically, not expecting an answer on that question. He then huffed as if he still couldn't believe the stupidity of mankind. He decided to pull a mean trick "Besides, you didn't need to accept it, the lesser money given away..." He trailed off.
He nodded his head briefly to the man and seeming at an unspoken agreement they moved to stand aside. They seemed respectful to him and he had to hide a secret smile Aahh, the power of modifying.. He thought, almost gleefully. His feet hit the deck and he looked around, seeing if everything was still as he left it. Otherwise he would have to punish a few, not that he minded too terrible. He would throw them into his lab and do some testing on them, then they still where useful in some way.
His jaw suddenly clenched as he saw that something was indeed moved and his gaze, narrowing sharply, swept around. They all cowered before him and tried to avoid his gaze "Who?" He forced out, barely containing from erupting. It wasn't really important that box, if the stone didn't give some annoying aura off that seemed to seduce him, trying to force him into things he didn't want to. He suddenly hated the stone, he would be HAPPY if he was released from it, let Shinra keep it! He didn't want it anymore!
He forced his thoughts briefly away "Get... that... box...here." He hissed out, most of the men ran to comply and he turned to the man again "Are you ready?" He questioned, almost sweetly as a grin crossed his lips again.
Word Count: 349 Note: This is the moment to decide if you want your character experimented on or not [sorry if I first should have asked you for permission admins!] If not, he can escape NOW, later there won't be a chance anymore. To warn You as the player, he would sedate him the instant he hit deck and when they're far enough from the shore.
Something wasn't right, the immediate look of the boat, he stopped and just stared for a moment, he looked to the men they were staring at the guy in the coat like he was incharge, which he was probably paying them but no. This was different it was like fear, the way they watched him like the guy was going to get out a knif and stab them at any second. He faultered in his steps then shook his head 'why am i being so ridiculouse this guy wouldn't have a chance even if he tried something besides i need that money miumi needs me to meet up with him at a different island so stop being stupid' he thought looking to sync who looked back to him, sync looked worried eve for a bird and he flew up hovering above the boat.
He then stepped on he ahd been thinking to hard to notice the scrambeling the boat rocked genty and he stepped on "ye lets hurry before the wind changes" he said moving to the otehr side of the boat and leaning on the side looking out 'maybe if i think of miumi this journey will be shorter' he thought shaking his head. Feeling the boat begin to move he gripped a little harder onto the boat and watched teh waves gently hit the boat he felt claws on his shoulder and sync rubbed his beak agaisnt bays cheek as if feeling his tension Bay just ahd this feeling, it was making him feel sick, or that could be the boat. He wasn't sure, he glanced behind him "i don't suppose you guys have any water?" he asked turning around only to feel a punch to the face and he fell to the deck "what the hell was that fo..."
His head suddenly started spinning as he felt his shoulder it wasn't a knife worse, a needle. He attempted to clamber back but whatever it was, aws hitting hard and fast "you... yo..." he didn't even manage to think nor mutter a sentence before his eyes closed and that was it, he was unconciouse. Snc was on his chest cawing and hissing at them flapping his wings but unable to truely help Bay eventually flew up into the sky. It looked hopeless for him.
Note: This will be fun! for you and me ^_^ will there be a new thread or just carry on in this one?
