Swords of Shadows (+10 Atk) – The dragoon has two copies of the same weapon that he gained after his fated battle with Dante. Crafted and enchanted by angelic blacksmiths, the blades of the weapons have the ability to fire away from the hilt and retract back like a hookshot thanks to a durable chain locked within their handles. They extend until they hit a solid object that the blade can get stuck into, effectively pulling Loki to where ever the blade part of either sword might be from their respective handles. At the bottom of their hilts are buttons that activate the hookshot feature in each, but Loki seldom uses that feature for battle as he prefers to use only one weapon at a time as a normal sword once fighting. He finds it easier to battle this way and it helps due to the fact that he could possibly leave himself wide open for an attack if he misfires one of the swords. They are mostly convenient tools for him to travel with by swinging about once airborne and alternating each weapon as necessary to move in the desired direction. Otherwise, they are effective one-handed blades in their own right.
Bone Armor – Loki wears a full-body lightweight armor for easy movement and protection which has a skeletal appearance. Underneath he has a skin-tight black body suit, which further helps to keep him light and covered. The armor is useful for hand to hand combat due to the fact that it has pointed edges at the elbows and sharp gauntlets that he uses to claw at in certain terrains or to use when unarmed. However the top of his armor is mostly hidden by a magically-placed short cape that wraps around his shoulders, courtesy of the valkyrie that dwells within him.
Character Abilities:
Dragon Shift – Having participated in many battles as even a child, Loki has developed instincts to know when to avoid danger and act accordingly to dodge. Gains one evade per thread.
Magic:
Drain – Saps the HP of one enemy. (+50 Mag Damage, -25 MP)

PAST
Loki was born under the guidance of the Dragon God, Balgus by being blessed with the scales of the dark dragon on his body. Since only one person from each dragon god would be bestowed such an honor every ten years, Loki was held in high regard, but also a bit out casted. Growing up on the Cetra continent in the Mysidia region, he learned the teachings and three main principles that Balgus stood for. Chaos, Death, and Negativity were the basis for which Loki began to see his role fit in the world of Gaia and he would make sure that he would make his ancestors proud by following in their footsteps to the best of his ability. The elders of Aisenfield, his hometown, made sure that Loki was kept away from the village while he was being taught, mostly in an effort to bring any crisis that the youth could create away from their homeland and elsewhere...at least until he was older.
He left the comforts of his home continent at the age of twelve to fend for himself in the harshness that Gaia had to offer. Honing his skills that he learned from his teachers and adapting them to fit his new lifestyle as an up and coming sword for hire, the dragoon found himself falling in love with the principle of chaos and the other two just fell into place right after just as his elders had expected would happen with the spirit of Balgus in the dragoon. His first major accomplishment came from attacking a small village filled with rather peaceful humans for the most part. With his fighting prowess and natural ability being better than most of the villagers, he was able to overtake them with a ruthless raid that spared no one. Although at the beginning of his attack there was only the elderly and a few women and children, he was able to take care of the men that came to see their small homes lit on fire and families and friends slain. His size and appearance made him seem weaker than he truly was which was a big advantage in getting the drop on his enemies. After that day, Loki was sure he could make a name for himself as a mercenary of chaos, however he was unaware how his killing would catch up to him later on in life....
Once the youth turned nineteen, he came to Midgar to enlist with the Turks as they seemed to be a group that was always being despised for their treacherous acts. An organization like that appealed to Loki who figured they too were big supporters of Balgus' teachings and he could finally belong to a pack of his own. Once he arrived, he passed the necessary test given to him easily enough, but it was his first mission to quell a rebel within Midgar that karma began to catch up with him. He came in contact with the demon named Virgil, a man he would grow a deep rivalry with, but also held in honor as a comrade too. It turned out over the years from many towns he showed up in and abruptly ended the lives of the villagers, he had killed Virgil's human wife. Something the demon would not forgive Loki for, but would eventually see past that to work alongside him at one point. Virgil was working as the rebel's bodyguard as mostly an opportunity to get even with Loki, but decided to spare the dragoon after easily winning their fight once his brother Dante appeared. The two demonic brothers emerging in Midgar brought Loki into a long feuded demon clan war. Although the two brothers didn't see eye to eye with one another, they still belonged to the same clan and eventually Loki was offered from the other side a chance to not only get more powerful, but to exact his own revenge against Virgil for defeating him so easily.
The demon clan Loki joined after leaving the Turks was the Shroud, led by three demon siblings. They were Remus the leader, Romulus his brother and the most powerful assassin in the group, Elektra who was their sister. Although Loki was not fond of working with demons, he figured he wouldn't be able to get the type of strength needed to win against the demon brothers without outside help. Going on missions for Remus, Loki helped the Shroud recover a powerful tool named Amducious to use against the group that Dante had gathered to counter them. However, once the final showdown began between the two groups and Remus went to summon the beast, Dante turned it against them and practically wiped out most of the Shroud except for Elektra. The city of Figaro was ruined thanks to that battle as the lone dragoon walked with the demoness in his arms out of the barren landscape. She had been horribly poisoned by the creature they had spent so much time trying to resurrect for their plans, and it was then where Loki began to see her less as a mentor in the ways of an assassin, but as someone he could become on equal terms with and fight alongside. It was a feeling he was unsure of how to respond too, but he knew he had to protect her until she could recover.
As he walked out of the destroyed city, he came in contact with a traveling devil and angel...literally. The pair went by the name of Alucard and Sywryn, and although Loki wasn't sure what to make of them at first he was surprised that Alucard knew of his ancestry Balgus, let alone that he had served one of his forefathers as well at one point. Taking to Alucard as someone he could learn from, while having someone like Sywryn to help him take care of the fallen demoness Elektra, they went traveling with one another as Loki hoped to find a way to get another chance to defeat Dante. Hearing that he would be showing up in Midgar with his group, Loki headed back to where it all started again to not only face the other half of the demonic brothers, but also to battle off the Alpha Weapon. The battle that ensued was something he would not forget as soon it changed the landscape of Midgar for a long while. Although Loki was unsure of how the battle truly concluded, he figured all was taken care of after he went chasing after Dante to get revenge for Elektra and The Shroud. These feelings of loyalty that he was developing were all new to him, yet he was starting to grow a band of mercenaries with his leadership on the battlefield.
Eventually, Alucard had even fallen thanks to Dante's meddling and although he lost another mentor, Elektra had regained her consciousness and he had actually formed a pact with Virgil to defeat his own brother. It led Loki and his allies to chase Dante to Sywryn's homeworld of Elenglynn as the demon was trying to amass more power for himself to become omnipotent with the angel's technology. In order to reach Elenglynn, they had to have the blessings of the high seraph, Ultima, but because Sywryn was out casted by heading to Gaia on her own, they could not get in without a fight. Although it at that point was the most difficult battle Loki had ever faced, he managed to somehow win alongside Virgil and the others. With the fight done, he was honored by the High Seraph who gave him her blessings to move on and the power of one of her subordinate Valkyrie, Eisa, who he merged with in order to gain extra strength to fight against Dante. It was then the final battle with Dante commenced inside of Elenglynn where Loki and his allies were victorious and finally defeated the corrupt demon.
PRESENT TIME
The dragoon then stayed in Elenglynn for a little over a half a year, adjusting himself to the new inhabitant of his frame. Although Eisa merged into Loki to share the same body, Loki still had full control of himself and thoughts, just an extra consciousness as a side effect to his valkyrian power boost. Once the dragoon had found he was ready to move on and back to his home world of Gaia, he passed through a gate that led him back home, but not the one he knew. The similarities were there, but it was clearly a different place from how he remembered it. Finding time to reassess his situation after being away for so long, Loki had come to a new realization.
The lines that were once black and white for him between chaos and order were becoming too blurred for his tastes. The notion that the powers of darkness and light would always compete with one another for control of this land was something the dragoon had come to accept. The only way for him to truly stay on the side of chaos was to keep the balance and fight for whatever side seemed to be waning in strength. That way chaos could never turn to order and Gaia would stay that way as long as he was still alive and had the power to do something. The 'Sword of Chaos' as Virgil had aptly nicknamed him was going to preserve his favorite principle on this new Gaia, no matter if he had to step into the light or fall back into the shadows...
Roleplay Sample:
With his back already comfortably against the tree, Loki rose his head and looked up as he knew it was inevitable at this point that the valkyrie was going to have her say. He could envision her form slowly materializing before his eyes out into the open for all to see. Despite the fact that she was centuries older than the being she inhabited, maybe even a few millenia in human years, she maintained a youthful appearance that would make her seem around the same age as Loki.
Her hair was long with a luxurious golden luster about it that framed her petite face. Even her eyes had a warm azure color to them that offset the colder blue eyes of the mercenary she inhabited, with sun-kissed colored skin that still seem to exude the vibrancy of magic she once commanded as a former guardian of her home world. However, in merging with Loki her power had been limited immensely due to being cut off from her main source of energy in that parallel world. However, she was not helpless even in this temporary form she took in front of Loki, but certainly a far cry from the being she once was.
She adorned herself in celestial robes fit for a higher being, mostly as a reminder to Loki how fortunate he was to gain her strength on his journey through life. In fact, the current short cape that Loki wore over his shoulders was also a part of Eisa. The jet black color was actually from the wings of the Valkyrie after they had merged with one another, although Loki preferred for them to maintain hidden in this form as a cape to not bring attention to himself. It was part of the reason he had stayed in Elenglynn for so long instead of returning to Gaia. His body had been transformed and he felt it was necessary to get a better handle of it before he was to return back, however he couldn't keep the valkyrie from doing what she was doing now unfortunately.
Leaning forward with her arms crossed over her chest, she smiled down to him on the ground as he stared back up at her and bared his fangs. Those fangs were one of the key traits that his bloodline held for being a descendant dragoon of one of the ancient dragon gods. Although it was a wasted attempt at Eisa who simply straightened up and giggled at his frustration.
"Honestly...are you going to stay out here in this forest all afternoon or are we finally going to continue onwards to where we originally planned to go?"
She asked with a sly smile curling on her lips as Loki simply grunted and slowly rose to his feet once again. Turning away from her to the direction of Aisenfield as they still stood out on the outskirts, he knew deep down what she was getting at really, although she didn't openly say it. The fact that their thoughts crossed over each other’s almost all the time, there was nothing they could really keep secret from one another, but perhaps it was for his or her own sanity that she'd talk to him on the outside like a separate person.
"It's been years since I've even been on this continent, and even now I feel as if there's some type of invisible wall that separates me from the others. Maybe that's the fate of all of us 'special' descendants..."
Spoke the dragoon with narrowed eyes as he looked off in the distance. He shifted his body off of the tree and began to face it as he too crossed his arms. Underneath his arms, he could feel his trusted blades resting against his hip on his left. They were unique blades that he had especially made for more stealth purposes over the much larger double murasame blade he used to have. He felt that his days of chasing demons was far behind him now, but perhaps that was also just another influence the valkyrie set on him for being slightly optimistic on things.
"If you must accompany me like that instead of being hidden, try not to drag too much attention to yourself. They can probably feel my presence already as I can sense them, but with you there it will only complicate things I'm sure."
The mercenary was thinking ahead to how he knew most of his forefathers traveled. If they ever had companions that worked alongside with them, they were usually those who shared the same passion for Balgus' teachings and were quite unsavory characters to say the least. If the villagers indeed recognized him and could sense the blood of the dark dragon running through him, then they would be alarmed. Loki didn't wish for panic to strike the village, nor did he wish to be questioned a whole lot as the two of them had philosophies on the other side of the spectrum of each other. Again, his mind began to feel conflicted with feeling excited about the fact that something terrible could befall what seemed to be a calm area.
Eventually a devilish smirk began to trace his lips though as he turned to face Eisa for a few moments. It wouldn't be his intention to openly start trouble, but he certainly wanted to learn how his birthplace had been all these years, if it even had the same individuals he used to remember living in it. It was always exciting to be near people he considered family, as he along with the other special descendants were a rare breed. Only a few select people every ten years were blessed with the scales of a dragon, so naturally he'd always be and feel different.
"My first home...how will you embrace my return after all of these years that have gone by..?"
Putting his hands down by his side, he began to walk forward through the forest until he found the dirt path he had originally been walking on before he stopped to readjust the emotions that were overtaking him before. Walking or more correctly gliding along right behind him was the Valkyrie, curious to learn about the place the dragoon had always considered his home, regardless how little time he actually had spent within its boundaries.
