It was already three-thirty and Autumn had nothing but her sword, torch, and clothes. She was tasked by her father to go out and collect some rare herbs that they had planted in the outskirts of Lindblum. Since they run an herb shop, it was vital that they keep a plentiful stock on items, especially having rare or out-of-season herbs. It's the only way they make money now-a-days, since her father stopped being a mercenary. This herb-collection and gardening was her mother's profession, as she grew up some place else where they had plenty of wildlife. She transfered that passion and expertise here, in Lindblum, where Autumn now lives with her parents, trying to explore the world and let Autumn experience new things.
She had lived in Mysidia all her childhood, and since turning 18, has traveled with her parents around the world, setting up shop after shop. Her parents, being the adventurous type, decided that they would take a vacation to another part of the world. Where? Here. In Lindblum. She remembered the mages in Mysidia and remembers their training. However, after her training, her parents thought it was nice to start moving around. She respected her parents, and they recognize that. Sometimes, however, she just wishes that she didn't have to do so many tasks. It was exhausting, and especially in a mist-covered area like this, navigating around can be a hassle, and getting lost is an option in all scenarios.
Autumn continued to walk around, trying to find certain landmarks to remember where her mother said the secret garden was. Under the willow, past the lover's rock... She found the willow at last, and a surge of glee washed over her. Walking faster, she quickly found the 'lover's rock,' which is a rock shaped like a heart. It's been there for as long as she can remember, and it always radiates with a warmth that she longs for.
"Now... what was the next part of the rhyme...?"
She sat down on the rock, trying to remember what it was... Under the willow, past the lover's rock... Through the skeleton's passage, and look towards three o-clock...
As soon as Autumn remembered the rhyme, her body felt shivers that made the rock feel cold. The skeleton's passage... That's where the dead men lay on the floor, still gripping onto their swords and wearing the same armor... She gulped as she slowly walked towards the passage, which was a cave that, when taking a wrong turn, could turn you into one of it's late inhabitants.
She arrived at the entrance of the cave, hoping nothing lay inhabiting it that could harm her. Even the smallest spider could hinder her entering the cave at this point. She glanced at the dead bodies that surrounded the entrance, and gripped her torch tightly. She stepped into the darkness, and walked with haste, trying not to pay any mind to the bones that clattered beneath her feet. After a few moments, she arrived at an opening with three paths to take... One left, one right, and one straight forward.
"Um..."
Three-o-clock was to her right, but that didn't seem right. Something in her felt like going straight forward. But, at the same time, that feeling lacked proof. She knew nothing of what laid ahead.... But she ventured straight anyways, biting her lower lip and hoping nothing was there and her gut was just lying to her...

A howl comes from up ahead of you, it is a loud howl that doesn't echo much revealling how close the source was and as you inch forward you would notice a large furry white face seemingly hovering slightly above the ground with two large ears trailing onto the floor. Its green eyes shining brightly as it looks at you, it howls once more revealing its terrifyingly large mouth and jagged teeth before it dashes towards you suddenly

Autumn jumped backwards as she saw the frightening white face lunge forward towards her. Unprepared, she fell backwards and tried to cover herself, getting scratches and a few open wounds from the creature's advances. She crawled out soon after the first attack, scrambling under her feet trying to get up and regain balance.
The creature's fangs and claws were frightening, but the fact that it's size was so large made it rather terrifying. She knelt down and picked it up with her right hand, and at the same time held her left hand out. She charged up her magic and shot out a blast of wind at the creature.
"Aero!"
At that moment her sword began to glow. One of the runic symbols on her blade grew in luminosity as it filled with some of the excess magic from when Autumn cast her spell. She now gripped her spellblade and charged forward, raising her sword with both hands and trying to land one strike upon the foul beast.

The creature seems to grin as its blows hit you and its grin seemed to become even wider as the aero spell hit the beast in the side yet it swung around and brought itself to face you.
As your blow came down towards the beasts face it lunged forward with tis jaws wide open and tries to a massive chunk out of your bowls before it pushes you way with its large paws and sharp claws ripping at you as well.

Autumn was ready for it this time. She quickly brought her blade in front of her, the flat side facing both her and the beast. Assuming the defensive stance, she held her left forearm in front of her and against the blade to provide as much protection as possible. She officially thwarted the beast's attacks, but she was unable to do much more past this. The beast would also have the next attack, and hopefully it wouldn't try and take a part of her this time. The creature lets out a howl as its attacks were blocked by you rendering its blows completely useless, however the beast still held a wild grin on its wide face as it started to rush towards you again, its sharp teeth beared. It nears closer and closer, its large form moving swiftly and as it is about to be upon you it leaps over you grinning wildly as it flies above you and quickly lands behind you blocking your escape.

Well, now that her path was blocked, she had a reason to go all out and fight. "Well, here it goes!"
She held out her left hand once more and started to charge her spell. She looked at the beast with a growing fury as she knew that there was no escape over it's dead body. As soon and she felt ready, she cast the spell.
"Aero!"
Following the spell, she quickly lifted her blade, which yet again started to glow. She ran up to the beast and swung from the side this time, attempting to chop it right in half from the waist. As the blade came swinging around, she quickly stepped back and readied a defense, just in case the beast tried to come at her again. That first surprise attack had hurt, but just enough to let her know that she can't take many more hits from this. She had to play it smart, and if that meant waiting till it fell asleep, so be it, but right now it could strike at any moment.

The creature lets out a howl as it slowly moves towards you, some how you got the feeling that the beast had the upperhand and knew it as it just continues to slowly walk towards you, its mad grin still plastered across its face while your attacks seemed to be doing nothing to it at all.

Just great..."
Autumn felt like she had no chance against this bandersnatch... Nothing seemed to weaken it. It just kept smiling and smiling... like it had nothing to do but just to taunt her. Autumn couldn't give in... But maybe takin' on a different strategy... Perhaps this bandersnatch wasn't such a bad beast after all... I mean, perhaps it wanted to play with her... Or smelled food on her that it wanted... She briefly rummaged through her small pack and found a little bit of dried meat, and got that out while throwing it on the ground near the bandersnatch, so it could open the way to the escape route.
"Here little bandersnatch... I know you like meat, so there is some over there for you...~?"
If this worked, she could possibly make an escape. However, in the worst case scenario, it would just lunge at her, in which she would just be ready to defend.

The Bandersnatchs grin widens as opens its mouth and rushes towards you easily chomping down on your arm with its large and intimidating teeth that rip through your clothes and skin with incredible ease, the force of its bite is excruciating, you would probably black out from the pain of its large and powerful jaw clamping down on your arm if it didn't let go just before then. However the respite is short lived as it chomps back down on your arm once more driving you close to blacking out.

Autumn felt the bandersnatch bite down on her arm, but she squeezed her muscles and felt little to no pain, as all it felt like was a lot of pressure. She smacked the bandersnatch off her arm with her great sword, still holding it up to her face for protection. She laughed and scoffed at the bandersnatch, almost taunting it.
"Your attacks are futile. I could do this all day. Bring it on!"
In fact, she believe that she could fend off this bandersnatch. She just needed time to let it tire itself from attacking her so she can sneak by him. It was only a matter of time. [/style]
The Bandersnatch lets out a howl as your skin starts to crawl along your spine and moments later you would feel a magical energy wash over you before the world blacks out at the worst possible moment. You don't even feel yourself hit the ground and the next thing you can recall is chaos as you fall into the world of dreams.
OOC: Battle over, next post should be a dream of some sort with you waking up with a start.
Autumn felt weak... And all of a sudden, she was in a different place. Where was she? What was she doing?
Everything turned black for a few moments, as Autumn held her defensive pose.
"Huh? Where am I?"
Then, the darkness slowly turned into a meadow of her favorite flowers. There were roses, clovers, and many other types of flora that tickled Autumn's fancy. She held her sword for a few moments, until she realized that she no longer was wielding her weapon nor wearing her armor, but rather she was in a light, frilly dress, of the color of mint. She smiled, looking around, being entranced by the state she was in. This was just like heaven.
She leaped and frolicked through the flowers and grass, feeling the smooth petals against her bare legs, and the sweet, cool feeling of the grass in between her toes. She smiled and felt the warm sun against her face.
"Is this... heaven?"
She took no note of it and wandered off to a small stream, where she knelt down and took a small drink from. She closed her eyes to enjoy the taste, yet all of a sudden, it turned into blood. She took a sip and immediately spat it out, as the salty thick liquid expelled from her mouth. She opened her eyes, and looked around. The sun was dead, and the moon was the color of sanguine blood. She looked around and saw the meadow, decaying, burning, and the feeling of joy she had turned into despair.
She was paralyzed. She didn't know what to do nor what happened. She tried to scream, but couldn't do anything.
After a few moments, she let out a shrill and she gained control of her body as she woke up.
As you scream you hear another scream and you soon see the source as a long black haired woman stares at you with a shocked expression across her face, her hands held up infront of her, obviously a defense mechanism and if you paided enough attention you would notice she was breathing heavily. After a moment she lowers her hands and glares at you.
"I swear, do not do that again, I nearly jumped out of my skin just now."
She then scratches her cheek before she sighs shaking her head slightly, she was wearing what seemed to be a large green robe that now her arms were lowered covered her body completely, you couldn't even make out a bodyshape under it.
"Anyway relax you are safe, we fended off the Bandersnatch that had attacked you, its not dead but its long gone."
Autumn looked around curiously as she scratched her head. She looked at the woman in front of her, as she seemed to be startled by her loud shrill.
"I am so sorry! I just had a nightmare... That's all..."
She tried to sit up, but she felt weak. She took a few deep breathes as she forced herself up and stood. She patted the dust and debris of her and smiled at the woman, holding out her hand.
"My name's Autumn, and thanks for fighting the bandersnatch... It was going to be a long battle haha."
The black haired woman smiles at you as you thank her and as you look around you notice that you are still actually within the cave, you could see a large amount of blood nearby but no body.
"Well, what happened was, you where fighting a Bandersnatch that was toying with you and you let a chance to finish it off skip by and it chomped you up quite nicely I then took a shot before it could drag you too far into the caves cuasing it to release you and fled."
The woman then turns around and walks towards the cave entrance picking up a large rifle from against one of the stone walls with one hand before she rests it against her shoulder and then leans against the entrance before she resumes talking.
"After that I healed you while Hao went to pursue the Bandersnatch so that we wouldn't have to worry about it coming back and catching us unaware."
