Solomon sat at the edge of the courtyard, mentally preparing himself for the task ahead. It was a beautiful day, but the SeeD hopeful barely registered his surround. He would be making his first ever attempt at the Exam soon, and he was worried about what would be expected of him. He had a basic idea of how the test would be structured and, as a student, he felt he had been more than diligent in his studies, but that didn't prevent him feeling apprehensive. Solomon's main hope was that he didn't become too stressed out. It wouldn't do to show the less "natural" side of himself, especially after managing to hide it for so long. Deciding that he had steadied himself as much as he could, Solomon headed in, almost running to the classroom in which his fate would be decided.
The SeeD lecturer looks at you as you enter the room and sighs before glancing up to the clock and opening his mouth, speaking with a tone of annoyance and impatience as you where the only one other than the lecturer in the room.
"You are late, mister..."
He picks up a sheet of papaer and looks at it reading what you would guess was information about you, the information you had supplied to the Garden anyway.
"Mister Solomon, the exam was scheduled for half an hour ago, however due to the fact that you are currently the only new entrant application the Headmaster allowed you leeway, now take a seat at a terminal and the entrance exam will begin, this is a simple test that will test your awareness of SeeD and recent SeeD History."
The lecturer then gestures to the room of empty chairs and computer terminals before he puts the sheet of paper down and moves over to a chair at the from of the classroom.
Solomon strode into the classroom as calmly as his squirming stomach would allow, confident that he would be able to complete the task before him. Crossing the threshold, this confidence was hammered into by the admonishment of the lecturer. Gesturing his apologies with all of the eloquence and respect he could manage to infer, the Lucavi was a little confused. He had thought to arrive on time, if not early to this exam. Arriving late to this important occasion was yet another blow to his surety. He normally had a strong sense of time, rarely having to look to timers or clocks, so he could only think to lend his tardiness to the distraction his nerves had cause. As he crossed to the foremost central terminal, ready to begin, Solomon spared a thought for the lack of other candidates. Though he was thankful that the absence of others had afforded him some leeway, it was a concern that there were no others ready to be elevated to rank SeeD. Casting such irrelevant matters aside for the moment, he sat, focused on what he needed to complete.
As you sit down infront of the screen you would notice that the test was already loaded for you, it was a series of questions, all of them seemed pretty basic, but then again this was just a standard test for you to be accepted as a SeeD Candidate. After entering your name you can read the questions.
1] The Term GF stands for? 2] Name the leader of SeeD 3] How many SeeD gardens exist? 4] What is SeeD? 5] Name the nearest settlement. 6] Name the ruler of Galbadia. 7] Name the leader of the Shin-Ra Corporation. 8] Name the ruler of Lindblum. 9] Name the ruler of Alexandria. 10] Name the ruler of Vector.
Looking at the screen in front of him, Solomon was surprised at the simplicity of what was being asked. It was all fairly basic information, that all with a mind for the politics of Gaia should know. He was also surprised at the fact that he struggled to recall the information.
1: Guardian Force 2: Headmaster Cid 3: 3 4: The elite mercenary force of the Gardens. 5: Balamb Village 6: Sorceress Blue 7: Rufus Shinra 8: Regent Cid 9: Queen Brahne 10: Emperor Gestahl
Pushing through the nerves that had seemed to plague him all morning, Solomon entered his final response. Waving for the attention of the exam proctor, the mute gestured that he had completed the assigned task, and was preparred to submit his answers.
You finish the test and wait for something to happen, the Lecturer remains seated at the front of the classroom for at least another five minutes before he reacts to you finishing the exam. With a sigh after those five minutes his attention flicks to a nearby screen before he turns to it and starts typing on the screen, several moments pass before he lets out another noise, this time, words.
"Well Mister Solomon, you seem to be a little behind on current events, but your answers are all at least technically correct, Queen Branhe was assasinated recently and Galbadia took one of the Gardens from us and Balamb prefers to be recognised as a City but considering its size compared to even places like Kalm and even Besaid are marginally larger than Balamb it is an acceptable answer. So with that all I can gather is that you've been closed to world events during your journey to come to Balamb, however I cannot and will not penalise you for such."
The Lecturers statement left Solomon feeling a little confused. While he had been told that his answers were correct, it had only been technically so. This left things in a grey area, in his mind.
While Solomon hadn't been completely sheltered in his previous existence, he had only recently become consciously aware of the events beyond those that filled his present and past. He had obviously learned about certain events from the conversation of those around him, and the various reports that he was able to access, but he hadn't paid as much attention to these as perhaps he should have. In his panic, the lucavi conceded to himself, he had fallen back on the textbook answers, at least on those he couldn't truly recall.
Having not been prepared for what he had to do, and where he needed to go next, and uncertain as to his success, Solomon remained in his seat. Focusing his pigment-less eyes on the lecturer, the SeeD hopeful waited for both a definitive answer and an order to proceed.
"In the future you should strive to stay current with the world events seeing as you are one of our newest recruits, so please remember as a SeeD you will need to keep an ear to the grow and an eye to the skies in order to keep up with events as things right now on Gaia are chaotic to say the least now if you would please stand and exit the room before heading towards the Library I will have a SeeD come to greet you and guide you to your new room, you'll be in a shared room but I don't think you'll be sharing for the moment."
With those final words the instructor waves you off with a slight smile before he returns to his screen and resumes typing, the only thing for you to do was leave the room however you might have a bit more time than he suggested before you have to head to the library.
OOC: Feel free to either head to the Library or explore the Garden.

Solomon stood a moment longer than necessary. The comment about an eye on the sky could have been an insult, for he had none to spare for the clouds, but he could see that it was not meant as such. Thanking the Lecturer, he left the room.
He would obey the instruction he had been given, but the Lucavi decided to strike for the more circuitous route. It would not take too much longer than heading to the library by a more direct path, and would allow him more time to calm down from the experience he had just completed.
As he walked, Solomon took in the sights of the Garden with a slightly clearer perspective than he had this morning. The first hurdle had been cleared. All that stood between him and his rank was the mission where he would prove his skills and earn the accolade. He hoped that the lecturer was right about him, having the dorm room to himself, if only for a while. It would do him good to be able to relax without his mask.
As you take your time walking around the gardens ground floor, taking a longer way round before arriving at the library you would notice that there where alot of students hanging around in grounds moving around most seemed to be heading towards the cafeteria while some you could see moving towards the training area with the rest milling about. For you, it was difficult to tell who was a SeeD and who was like you just a trainee you could only hope you come to pick up the ability to do so becuase otherwise you'd only make a fool out of yourself.
In due time you would find yourself entering the Library, which was pretty empty aside from one of the Staff manning the desk to your right while most of the others where sat with books studying aside from one person who was stood around seemingly waiting.
The walk proved to be just what Solomon had wanted. He had reached an almost mindless state of calm as he walked, before he came across the stream of people heading in the direction of the cafeteria. Undeniably intrigued, Solomon was sorely tempted to follow, to discover what was the cause of the commotion, but forced himself to ignore it. He had somewhere to be, and having been late once already today, was unprepared to repeat himself. Raising his pace by a marginal degree, he continued on his way to the library. The Lucavi would find out what it was later. If that meant that he would miss out on something, so be it.
Inside the dull light of the library, Solomon was immediately swallowed by the quiet. he gestured a greeting to the librarian, an individual he was reasonably familiar with, though if they noticed, they showed no sign.
Crossing over to the waiting individual, assuming that it was the SeeD he had been sent to meet.
Karrl had been waiting in the Library for a short time. He had received a message from one of the Instructors, that he would be helping out with a new recruit. He did not mind really, he had nothing much to do. Since his battle with the Coven in the training grounds and the Garden getting back on its feet, it had been a little to peaceful for his liking.
All of a sudden a new scent passed his nose, coming from the direction of the entrance of the library. He looked up and, from the description he had been given, it was a safe assumption that the guy that had just entered was the guy he was waiting for. So, with a crack of his neck he stood up and made himself known and shown to be waiting.
When the guy, who he was told was called Solomon, walked over he did not speak for the moment, eyeing the guy up, trying to get an idea about what he’s about. From the smell he was giving it, it was strange really, he had smelt it one or two times before, but he could not quite put his finger on it.
It did not take long for Solomon walked up to him. When he did Karrl smiled, “You must be Solomon, I’m Karrl, I’ll be, well, we’ll see what I will be, come on, let’s get this show on the road.” With that he cracked his neck one more time before beginning to walk out of the library.
The man before him seemed to be bored bored and a little curious, though Solomon couldn't tell why the latter was the case. he assumed it was his appearance. People were always a little confused when they first met him. The Lucavi hoped that he hadn't kept the SeeD waiting too long.
The mans introduction was brief and brooked no argument, so Solomon fell into step behind Karrl. He would have asked about what they were heading out to do, but with Karrl facing the other way, doing so was not possible. Sol didn't mind, he understood his limitations.
Karrl walked in silence as he looked around the Garden. He was supposed to take this kid to the dorm rooms, but, was he expected to do more than that, that he did not know. He did not like being kept in the dark, however, maybe he wasn’t and that was the only thing he needed to do. The question kept on running through his mind, and he wanted an answer.
Actually, he kind of doubted that this was all he was meant to do, because, well, a SeeD, with Karrl reputation, just being sent as a guide from point a to point be. If that was the case, it was kind of insulting. Never the less, if he was just meant to do that, then he would do it, true, Karrl had a reputation, but, he was still on thin ice because of past events, so, he would not complain, openly.
Making his way through the Garden and towards the dorms he looks over his shoulder, “So, you excited about the exam today, or nervous, trust me on this one, the exams are usually not life threatening, but, even so, it is not completing the mission that should worry you, it would be how well you complete it.” With that he turned around a corner and stopped, “Well, here we are, the dorms.”
Solomon dutifully followed Karrl on their path across the Garden, uncertain of where they were going, or of what would be expected when they reached their destination. Without getting the SeeD to stop, delaying their arrival, he couldn't ask, but he refused to show complaint about lacking the knowledge.
Karrls statement about completing the exam was equally as helpful as it was disconcerting. While he had suspected that merely completing the mission wouldn't be enough, it wasn't pleasant to hear the word "usually" where mortality was concerned. With his guide looking over his shoulder, Solomon managed to signal a concise reply, +Affirmative+ +Look forward+
When the duo arrived at the entrance to the dormitories, Solomon couldn't help but feel apprehensive. He had thought that he would have been sent out on the test mission immediately, not left to stew in his doubts, worrying about what he was to face.
+Which is to be mine?+ +When will I need to be prepared for?+
The Lucavi was unsure of the why behind having Karrl assigned to lead him here. It would have been more efficient to have just told him to head to the building from the classroom. Solomon chose to assume that it was merely a matter of courtesy, to reaffirm to him that he was making progress. Other options seemed unjust.
