Returning to Lindblum, Noel had decided that his best course of action would be to continue onward and take a real look around the city he had begun his journey in (as Alexandria probably wasn't the best place to be right now). He would definitely need to be a little more careful though, as it was becoming increasingly obvious that the locals didn't hold the same regard for others and their lives that he was accustomed to. Perhaps that was how humanity had eventually wiped itself out, although the real reason he couldn't recall. Since coming to this world, it seemed as though his own mind and memories had been playing tricks on him, further confirming his theory that he had somehow traveled into the past. He remembered how someone had explained in detail about this being theoretically possible using something called 'time gates'. Perhaps that was what he had fallen through into this time? It was certainly a stronger possibility than a city like this existing in his present, no matter how strongly he hoped and wished for it to be so.
Sighing, he glanced upward toward the sky were the various airships were entering the large structure that was the city of Lindblum. After his earlier attempts, he thought better than to ask any more questions regarding his location and instead found himself wandering into a very different area of the city. There were many large buildings, as in the last area, but there were also a few smaller structures with tables and an assortment of various different products. In particular, his eyes were drawn to a structure set out with various kinds of fruits and vegetables, something which he had never seen for himself but had heard described many times. Apparently they were grown from the ground a long time ago but the world had become so barren that none had grown in many years and they had essentially become extinct.
Realising the potential for drawing unwanted attention to himself, he pulled himself away as he continued to wander rather aimlessly. Perhaps there was a place were he could find out more about his location without being further ridiculed, but that would take some finding. There had once been a location in his home village that his grandmother had referred to as some kind of 'library', or was it a 'museum'? Either way, that would be a good place to start, but one thing became increasingly obvious as he made his way through the crowd. Looking at their demeanor and style of dress, as well as the stares he inadvertently attracted from a few of the city's population, he'd never felt so out of place in his life!
[atrb=style, font-family: Tahoma; word-spacing: 1px; text-align: justify; border: 1px dashed #bbcdff; color: #83a9d1; padding: 10px]Lindblum. A hive of activity in a peaceful setting under the rule of Regent Cid, uncle to Princess Garnet of Alexandria. He ruled Lindblum in such a way that the residents never seemed uneasy or terribly unhappy. Little did he know that something was brewing that would rock Lindlbum to its core. Rinoa was unsure if the news had reached Cid via Princess Garnet and she wasn't about to take the risk of missing out on this opportunity. Angelo had almost recovered from the brutal kicking he had recieved in Alexandria much to Rinoa's delight. He was as bright as ever and....running very fast away from her again! Rinoa gritted her teeth as she began to chase after him with her long cardigan tails flowing behind her. Luckily Rinoa was quite fit and active so running after Angelo wasn't an issue. She shouted down the street for Angelo to stop which of course he ignored. It was then you heard her voice aimed at you.
"Move out of the way!"
Too late! Rinoa unlike Angelo hadn't dodged out of the way in time and hit you at full force. Her hands immediately grabbed around your back in an awkward embrace as you both fell to the ground. Angelo stopped in his tracks and turned around, he slowly walked over and began to lick at your and Rinoa's face. The young Head Diplomat to Galbadia grumbled a little as she brought her hands to your chest and began to slowly push up.
"Not again...I'm really......sorry about that. I'm Rinoa and this is Angelo.."
Her voice started off quite loud but as she turned her attention to you she quietened down.

As Noel continued to take a look around, he heard a shout from behind him and turned around just in time to be flattened by a young woman with dark hair. Falling to the ground winded, it took him a couple of seconds to recognise the awkwardness of the situation. He still felt a little dazed though and so did not react until something furry began licking his face. Crying out in surprise, as soon as the woman let him go, he too jumped up and stared at the strange pair as his 'attacker', for lack of a better word, apologised rather profusely. She had started out quite loud but then her voice quietened down as she neared the end of her sentence. He couldn't help but wonder as to the reason behind this, but then it was plainly obvious that she was calming herself down. At least, that's what he assumed.
He turned his attention to 'Angelo', a domesticated beast once known as a dog. He couldn't recall if he had ever seen one that had been tamed, but this one certainly had as it stood by 'Rinoa'. Pets to him were a thing of the past but he did often wonder what it would be like.
Leaving this trail of thought, Noel found his voice again and shrugged and smiled at Rinoa. He was alive and relatively unhurt, although he might have some lovely bruises coming up, so there was no harm done right?

"Don't worry about it.", he told her rather calmly. After all, what was the use of causing a scene? He'd been getting funny looks as it was, never mind giving people reason to stare.
Seeing as Rinoa had introduced herself and her furry companion, Noel thought it only right to return the favour.
"Noel Kreiss", he introduced himself as he used his thumb to point to his chest. It was obvious who he was talking about, of course, but sometimes he couldn't help emphasizing his point at times. [/div]
[atrb=style, font-family: Tahoma; word-spacing: 1px; text-align: justify; border: 1px dashed #bbcdff; color: #83a9d1; padding: 10px]Rinoa quickly scrambled to her feet and brushed down her long blue cardigan and black shorts. Her face began to turn a more flushed red colour now as she became so apparent of her looks, she peered through her hair to try and catch another glimpse of Noel as she began to stand up straight. Angelo lifted his head and sneezed as he walked to Rinoa's side. He looked up at her and sat down almost sitting in her feet, she glanced to Angelo and patted his head.
"I should have been more careful but you know accidents happen hehe."
Her voice squeaked and was sort of off tone until she cleared her throat. Now came the awkward part. What to say next?! If she didn't say anything then this guy would just walk out of her life forever and her only piece of eye candy gone! Rinoa wasn't exactly looking for a relationship as such but hey she was almost 18! Rinoa smiled to Noel and brushed some of her dark hair behind her ears, she could Angelo panting heavily from his running spurt. SHe kept glancing down to him to make sure he wasn't getting ready to bolt again.
"So umm Noel what brings you to Lindblum then?" The young diplomat placed her arms behind her back and leaned in slightly closer while bendind forward.

Noel couldn't help but laughed as Rinoa turned rather a bright shade of puce. He didn't know much about women, but what little he did know made it plain that they cared perhaps a little too much for their appearance.
Letting her sort herself out, he tilted his head as she seemed to be checking him out, before squeaking something about accidents happening. Watching as Angelo sat at Rinoa's feet, he thought of how to answer her next question as he backed away a little in surprise at her sudden proximity. What was he supposed to say anyway? 'Oh well, I came through a pillar of light and sort of kind of might have travelled through time'? No, that would never work, even if it was the truth. He put a hand to his chin as he thought before finally coming up with an answer of sorts.

"Just wandering I guess", he offered in reply. It was a rather lame cover but the truth was just far too crazy. Even he hadn't got his head around it yet. Hopefully, returning the question would divert her attention."What about you, Rinoa?", he asked before another question occurred to him. Actually, I was wondering. You don't happen to know if there's anyone around here who knows much about...well...time travel do you?" It was a long shot, but then he wouldn't get anywhere if he didn't at least try and find that much. [/div]

[atrb=style, font-family: Tahoma; word-spacing: 1px; text-align: justify; border: 1px dashed #bbcdff; color: #83a9d1; padding: 10px]Rinoa began to hold her wrist a little tighter as Noel responded, her heart skipped a beat as Noel posed a question to her. She could feel her cheeks becoming warmer as the attention was no focused onto her. Rinoa quickly looked down to Angelo and began to stroke his long soft fur. She did love to spend her time stroking him, he made life so peaceful sometimes. When Rinoa was sure she was more relaxed she looked back up to Noel and smiled with her arms at her sides.
"Oh...I just came here on a whim after visting somewhere nearby..."
That was a little white lie and even though Noel was super cute! There was no way Rinoa could let on exactly what she was doing....even though every fibre of her being was screaming out to invite him along so she could spend more time with him. Yes typical seventeen year old with a crush. So far on her travels Rinoa hadn't really thought of the opposite sex and she had been on the road for some time now. Rinoa bit her bottom lip as Noel asked another but rather strange question. She trapped her chin with her finger before looking back to Noel.
"Time travel huh? Well I suppose....the best person I can think of to ask would be President Laguna in Esthar. I could always try and access my dad's files to find out if Esthar know anything teehee."
[atrb=style, font-family: Tahoma; word-spacing: 1px; text-align: justify; border: 1px dashed #bbcdff; color: #83a9d1; padding: 10px]words:247 Total Word Count:767
Noel cocked his head as Rinoa's cheeks flushed once again. As she stroked Angelo, he wondered why she was so tense, but he also couldn't help but noticed that she too didn't appear to be completely honest as to her reason for being here. Her demeanor was all wrong and Noel realised just how awkward this encounter was becoming. It seemed as though each had something to hide, perhaps the reason for the awkwardness.
Answering his second question, he put a hand to his chin. There was a possibility that this President Laguna could help him, although the chances were slight. He didn't know how far this Esthar place was from Lindblum, but it was certainly his best chance of finding out what was going on around here, especially if his theory proved to be correct. If that were the case, then there must have been a reason for him being sent back in the first place. Nothing on such a grand scale as outright saving humanity, he wasn't that vain, but if he really was in the past then maybe there was some small contribution he could make that could change mankinds fate.
With an inexplicable giggle, Rinoa offered her services toward his course. Her father was obviously someone in a position of power, but he wasn't sure if he could just take advantage of her like that. He doubted that her father would just grant her access to such files, but then again how did he know that they carried any kind of classification. Not sure how to respond, he thought carefully before opening his mouth.

"Hmmm, well that would be helpful but I wouldn't want to put you in that kind of position." Saying that though, even if he went to this Esthar place in person, how did he know that they would simply tell him what he wanted to know? I don't know..., he continued.

[atrb=style, font-family: Tahoma; word-spacing: 1px; text-align: justify; border: 1px dashed #bbcdff; color: #83a9d1; padding: 10px]Rinoa leaned in a little bit closer waiting for Noel's answer and reaction, she let her eyes wander over his body again before looking up to try and catch his gaze once more. A cheeky smile decorated Rinoa's face when he half accepted the help but she soon began to pout slightly when it seemed like he was having second thoughts. Rinoa quickly dropped her arms to her side and grabbed Noel's hands. Butterflies began to fly around her stomach as her bare skin touched his.
"Oh don't be silly it will be fine. I...I would actually appreciate the company.."
Her cheeks stayed that bright pink as she quickly dropped Noel's hands, Rinoa realised she may have over stepped boundaries and almost fell back over Angelo as she tried to put a little distance between them both. Quick! Time to break any tension! Rinoa looked around the area of Lindblum they were in and had a quick think of how they would get to Esthar.
"Hmmmmm we will have to catch an airship to get over to Esthar. You don't have a problem with flying do you?"
[atrb=style, font-family: Tahoma; word-spacing: 1px; text-align: justify; border: 1px dashed #bbcdff; color: #83a9d1; padding: 10px]words:194 Total Word Count:961
Noel watched as Rinoa's smile faded before she lunged forward and grabbed his hands. A look of surprise sprung upon his features as he found himself stuck for how he exactly he was supposed to react to what could be described as an advance of some sort. Obviously, being eighteen he had thought of girls at some point, but he didn't exactly have a lot of choice. Still, he had to admit that she was pretty cute, but this was starting to get plain awkward!
Noel wasn't sure if he could watch as Rinoa backed away and almost fell over her dog. As she once again turned a rosy pink, he too could feel his own cheeks flush as he scratched the back of his head. What was with this girl anyway, he wondered but decided against questioning. Maybe it was normal around here, or perhaps it was normal in general for all he knew. He hadn't seen or grown up with that many humans, so it was really hard to tell.
Being the first to regain composure, Rinoa seemed deep in thought for a moment before mentioning using an airship to reach Esthar. She must mean one of those things in the sky, he realised as he looked up toward the sky. There were a lot out and they all seemed to be converging on the largest of the buildings, which logically made that their landing point. He had wondered what it would be like to fly and it seemed that their was a chance to find out. The only thing was though, his grandmother had once told him how absolutely everything had to be paid for in gil. He doubted travel would come cheap, but gil was apparently earned by completing certain tasks. Surely if he didn't have enough then there was a way of finding it?
Asking her next question, he wasn't quite sure how to answer. Perhaps in this case, the truth wouldn't be quite so weird. It then occurred to him that if this was the best course of action, that it was hardly fair to drag Rinoa along. She definitely seemed keen though, perhaps a little too much so.
Actually, I have no idea"
, he offered in reply. "I've never flown in my life, but there's one way to find out though, right?"

[atrb=style, font-family: Tahoma; word-spacing: 1px; text-align: justify; border: 1px dashed #bbcdff; color: #83a9d1; padding: 10px]Whoa! This guy had never flown before? Where the heck does he come from? The backwaters of Alexandria. Rinoa shook her head lightly letting several strands of her dark hair bounce off her cheeks. It was slightly amusing this guy who looked more worldly than her had never experienced flight. Angelo yawned letting out a quirkly little sound as he closed his mouth, he seemed to be getting ready to lie down to which Rinoa patted the side of his body to get him back up. She slowly looked back to Noel and smiled.
"That's the spirit! Well ummmm follow me then I guess unless you have anywhere else you want to visit first."
Either way Rinoa wasn't too fussed if she had to stay a little bit longer in Lindblum, she could always try and wrangle a visit to Regent Cid of course. That one might actually be possible since she had already met with Princess....well Queen Garnet now. Rinoa slowly began to walk backwards trying this time to actually not step on Angelo, he of course moved out of the way quicker this time and began to walk beside her. He kept looked up to Rinoa every so often and then to Noel and then in front. She had placed her hands behind her back again and walked with almost a spring in her step, she was even still smiling which was actually sort of creepy. Rinoa swiftly wiped the smile from her face and began to look around at the scenery.

It was true that he had no where else in this place to visit, but he couldn't help but wonder why Rinoa was so keen to move on. She'd never actually said why she was here in the first place, but she'd insinuated that she didn't live here so their must have been some kind of reason. Perhaps she had already accomplished her purpose and really was just hanging around.
Smiling down at Angelo, he didn't notice Rinoa's fading smile as he had let her go ahead a little. She probably knew this place better than he did, a feat that wasn't really that hard considering that he had never seen the like of this city before. Walking in silence, he thought of something to try and say, but he had never been one for small talk. Instead, he decided to take in the scenery some more whilst trying not to walk into Rinoa or fall over Angelo. Saying that though, there were more than those two to avoid walking into. Being around so many people was an uncomfortable experience, to say the least, but felt good nonetheless.
Nearing the air cab station, which was apparently a faster way to travel around town and especially to the airship dock, he looked up once again toward the castle. It really was huge and he wondered if it was even more magnificent than Alexandria castle. That wouldn't be too hard though, considering the latter was pretty much trashed during his visit.
Entering the station, now seemed like as good an opportunity as any to try and break the silence a little. The earlier awkwardness had by now been replaced by a slightly different kind.

"So Rinoa", he began, any idea how long it'll take us to reach the airships?"

[atrb=style, font-family: Tahoma; word-spacing: 1px; text-align: justify; border: 1px dashed #bbcdff; color: #83a9d1; padding: 10px]Rinoa turned on her heels and eventually began to walk face forward instead of looking to you, Angelo would drift from by her side to yours looking up every so often. Rinoa noticed that the crowds seemed to grow as you both approached the entrance to where the airships docked. It wasn't that unusual but something was a little off today, she curled her fingers through her dark hair placing it behind her ears. Her guard had been dropped after she had bumped into Noel which was her first mistake, she should have known better but now it was right back up again. As Noel asked his question Rinoa span around again with a smile on her face.
"Oh it should be.......right now! Come on!
Her face dropped and a look of fright was plastered across her face, she leant forward and grabbed your wrist pulled you towards her. With all of her strength she tried to pull you behind her with Angelo running by her side, you hadn't even had chance to look until Rinoa stopped and stepped in front of you. She looked to the several SOLDIER from Shin-ra and glared, her eyes darted down to Angelo and then back up to SOLIDER as she held her arms out in front of her.
"Angelo Strike!"
Angelo knew exactly what this meant and he leapt up into her arms, Rinoa's knees buckled slightly but she stayed strong. A bright white light began to shine from Angelo and Rinoa's arms, in a split second Angelo had been launched from Rinoa's arms directly into SOLDIER.

Noel nodded at Rinoa's reply before looking down to Angelo. It seemed as though he had made more than one friend today, he realised as he smiled down at the furry creature before facing the direction he was going. It would be rather embarrassing to walk into something or someone, after all. At least the airship wouldn't be long though, although it did occur to him that this could turn out to be a wasted trip.
As they neared the dock, Noel suddenly felt rather apprehensive, almost as if he were being watched. His hunters instincts kicked in as he glanced around the area. Perhaps it was a simple case of the crowds making him feel a little paranoid, but he was sure that Rinoa felt something too. He could see it in the way she carried herself that her own guard had gone right up and even Angelo seemed to grow rather tense.
Looking around, he yelped in surprise as Rinoa grabbed his wrist and threw him behind her with a surprising amount of strength. Even with his guard up, he hadn't seen that one coming! It took less that a second for him to regain his balance and composure, but when he did he noticed that she had placed herself between him and some people in what could be described as a uniform. The way in which Rinoa glared suggested that not only were these people not friendly, but she had perhaps had some kind of hostile contact previously. This was confirmed by her initiating some kind of attack with Angelo, making him blink at the bright light that surrounded them. He didn't know what was going on, but he put his hands to his blades nonetheless. He would much prefer not to have to fight them, but if he had learned one thing then it was that the people of this world had little respect for the lives and wellbeing of others. Perhaps not all were like that, but it was definitely something he would have to get used to. He waited to see what happened with Angelo before deciding in his next course of action.

Before you stood a group of three SOLDIER, two of which carried guns and flanked the one in front. The foremost SOLDIER carried a sword as well as had a strap of grenades across his torso. As they drew closer to your company and Angelo was sent to attack, the foremost SOLDIER motioned quickly to his comrades. The two flanking SOLDIER quickly ran in opposite directions until they were about ten meters away from their previous positions. All that was left in Angelo's path was the Commander. The Commander stood there and waited as Angelo drew dangerously close. Just as Angelo was about to hit the Commander in a straightforward strike to the chest, he moved. Cartwheeling to the left, the SOLDIER drew his blade as his feet touched the ground and he straightened up. As the commanding SOLDIER pointed his blade up in the air the two gunners took aim at Rinoa and Noel.
Aim to kill. It was standard mission objectives in times like this. Dispose of all who stand in your way. Rinoa and Noel were in their way. All that was left was to get rid of them and continue onward.
OOC: Rinoa's attack dodged and battle has begun. There will be no attack this round but you do have a chance to brace yourselves before the assault begins.
[atrb=style, font-family: Tahoma; word-spacing: 1px; text-align: justify; border: 1px dashed #bbcdff; color: #83a9d1; padding: 10px]Angelo sprinted back to Rinoa's side and began to lightly paw against her legs, her slender hand touched upon his soft head and around to his neck before she looked back to Noel. He must be so confused and possibly even scared right now. Rinoa's heart began to sink slightly as she came to the realisation that she had led Noel into this situation, she couldn't let him get hurt. The young girl gritted her teeth as she looked back down to Angelo.
"Angelo Strike!"
Her faithful companion took a running jump into her arms ready for another chance at SOLIDER. The bright white light cascaded down from them both as Angelo left Rinoa's arms at high speed hitting the first SOLIDER in the torso. Rinoa grinned slightly so proud of Angelo but she had yet to see what Noel could bring to the table.

Watching as the one who appeared to be in charge evaded Angelo, Noel almost raised his hands in surrender as the two gunners took aim. What stopped him was the look in the commanders eye as they did so. He'd seen that look on many a monster he had hunted in his time, almost a will to survive. No matter what happened here, he was near positive that these people didn't take prisoners - they intended to 'survive' no matter what. Besides, it was obvious that they were after Rinoa for some reason and that they had no intention of taking her alive!. Talk about being in the wrong place at the wrong time!
As the crowds quickly dispersed in terror, Noel watched as Angelo's second strike connected with the man he had earlier assumed to be the commander. Although he wasn't keen on hurting people, he knew he had to defend himself and so, with his blades outstretched, he rushed forward toward the nearest soldier. Upon approaching, he struck with a cross slash motion toward the gunners torso. After that, he quickly made his way back to Rinoa and flashed her a smile. While it was true that in some fashion she was responsible for getting him into this mess, he'd be damned if either of them were hurt or worse by these people! He'd been learning slowly that in this world, one had to fight to survive even if it was against other people. --------------------------------------------------------------------------

The sights and sounds of Lindblum were something of a sensory overload for the curious Eshira. Airships, markets, animals of all kinds... and fights.
The Cetran hadn't exactly fully registered that last sound in her mind. She was still far too deep in a giddy trance to notice, up until she rounded the final corner and was now in plain sight of the battle that had just begun. The calls to attack, the sight of a dog attacking a man with a gun. The scatterbrain initially thought things that were far from the truth. Were they playing? No, they seemed too angry... training perhaps? That couldn't have been it either. There was violence abound here. Then she finally tweaked. It was a battle in the streets. The people wanted to actually hurt one another.
It was the first time the young girl had witnessed an actual fight, and her thoughts on it were far from positive. Fortunately for her, she was stood a fair distance behind the more aggressive SOLDIERS, but was in full sight of Rinoa and Noel. Her pale green-hair was a pretty fine stand out between the dark armoured troopers she was behind. Her expression has also changed to one of visible hesitancy, the girl stepping back towards the corner she'd formerly come around. Though she had no desire to be involved, her curiosity still held her strong. When she finally retreated around the corner, her head still remained around the corner, watching carefully at the fight now unfolding.

The two grunts with the guns fell pathetically easily to the blows of Rinoa's faithful Angelo and Noel rather fierce blows, however the commander simply lets out a sigh after his back up fall down to the ground dead with a blow apiece. He grips his fingers tightly around his blade while brushing his hair backwards with one hand.
With a flash of silver the Commander rushes forward, his eyes focused upon Noel before he leaps towards him, flying through the air swinging his sword up above his head before he slams down before Noel, drawing the blade down him vertically with only one hand before he springs off to the right hand side, slashing the blade across Noels gut swiftly and sharply.
[atrb=style, font-family: Tahoma; word-spacing: 1px; text-align: justify; border: 1px dashed #bbcdff; color: #83a9d1; padding: 10px] It all seemed to be in slow motion for Rinoa as she watched the Commander rush up to Noel and slash across his body. In an instant Rinoa rushed over to Noel's side and instinctively placed her hand across his wound. She looked up to him and then to the Commander and back to Noel. From his first attack she could tell he could handle himself but the thought he would get physically hurt for real never crossed her mind. A bright white began to radiate from her hand as a few tears began to trickle down her face.
"Noel! Are you ok?! Wait let me see to that wound..."
Once the wound had been healed Rinoa pulled her pinwheel up and aimed it at the Commander, she fired off a shot at him keeping her eyes on him at all times.
"You will pay for that and what you are doing to Gaia!"

Noel watched at how easy the two gunners had been downed. Even though they had initiated the hostility, he hoped to Etro that they had not been killed with those blows. He knew better than to waste time on false hope though, but for now it was the least of his worries.
Flashing a smile at Rinoa, he noticed too late the commander rushing forward with his sword in the air. He turned just in time to witness the strike that had almost cleaved him in two! Reeling from this attack, he dropped to one knee before being struck again in the gut. He groaned as he was knocked to his hands and knees. the ground below beginning to turn a bright crimson. This was the second time that he had been left bleeding on the ground of Lindblum, a fact that was more than a little annoying in itself. Worse was how he had allowed it to happen in the first place. One lapse in concentration could be the end of him, something that a trained hunter should have known better than to allow to happen.
With his vision swimming, he was aware of Rinoa's presence, but couldn't make out what she was saying. That was until he was suddenly bathed in cool, white light. It caused a strange but soothing sensation as he felt his prior wounds almost melting away. They were still there, but no longer life threatening. In fact, there was probably little left of consequence about them.
Getting back to his feet, he shot Rinoa a nod of gratitude before raising his own blades again. If there was a need and a time to defend himself, as well as those around him, this was it! Remaining on the spot, he closed his eyes in concentration until a glow of energy surrounding him. Allowing the pressure to build, he held on for a long as he could until he felt as though he might burst, before his eyes snapped open. He released the accumulated energy and watched as it sailed toward the commander. As it did so, Noel rushed forward himself and upon reaching the commander, who was hopefully still reeling from his last hit, he slashed at his chest with the larger of his two blades, before running back to Rinoa's side.
It was then that he noticed the young girl stood a fair distance behind the commander. He willed her to run for it but he didn't dare say anything out loud. After all, how did he know that this commander wasn't above hurting innocent bystanders? --------------------------------------------------------------------------

Still standing beside the corner, Eshira continued to diligently watch the fight before her. She had yet to retract her head, still curious as to what the purpose of this fight was. She flinched as both of the minion SOLDIERS were toppled over by the two fighters in the distance and recoiled heavily when she witnessed the commander gash his blade right into Noel. Slowly, but surely, she was beginning to form an opinion of her own on the fight. The heavily armed soldiers, the commander brutally attacking one man... those that she stood behind now were not earning any credibility in her books. Finally, as Rinoa announced her intent to make these men pay for what they were doing to Gaia, Eshira now had a point of reference to go off of.
It was Gaia that had called her out into the world, after all. As a Certran, she could hear the call of the planet, but rather, it was the cries of the planet that drew her out. The way the black-haired lady referred to those men... it was clear they were the ones making Gaia cry. As Rinoa finished her statement, Eshira frowned, and drew from her back her staff. She clutched it close to her chest, watching carefully as Noel and Rinoa let loose there attacks.
Finally, in the heat of the moment, Eshira stepped out, her hands suddenly engulfed in bright orange flames. She didn't exactly announce her presence, nor let her attack be known, but striking this evil commander while his back was turned seemed like the best thing to do. As she took up a battle ready stance, the tip of her staff began to emit similar flames. In one less-than-elegant swing of the staff, she threw out this flame, now forming up into a fireball, towards the back of the SOLDIER commander. After the first slug of her staff, Eshira then took another swing, sending out yet another fireball towards the commander. All the while, she kept a displeased look on her face...

The barrage of attacks from the trio knock the commander backwards with each individual blow before the flames from the fire spells ignite his hair and the edges of his clothes. He staggers backwards as the fire spell sets him alight, quickly and swiftly he starts patting wildly at the small fires trying to put them out as he swears while he gets the smoldering fires under control.
Gathering himself back together, he appears visibly worn out but stands up straight, swinging the blade in his hand down as he presses his free hand up against his chest before he breathes in deeply as his free hand starts to glow brightly as he unleashes a healing spell over himself, visibly restoring his body. Lowering his hand he glances over the trio, flicking from Rinoa to Noel and then finally to Eshira.
A smirk crosses his face as he stamps his right foot down against the ground pushing himself forward towards his target, Eshira, the mage that had set him alight, his sword trailing behind him as he bridges the gap inbetween them only stopping when he is right ontop of her where he brings the sword upwards across her chest, however the sword explodes with flames in mid strike seemingly returning her own flames with gusto.

[atrb=style, font-family: Tahoma; word-spacing: 1px; text-align: justify; border: 1px dashed #bbcdff; color: #83a9d1; padding: 10px] The heat from his flamestrike was so intense! Rinoa had to shield her face from the heat radiating from the blade as it struck....not her or Noel. It was a young girl, what the hell was she doing getting involved in something like this?! Rinoa watched with horror as she fell to the ground...no...NO! With a whimper Rinoa ran to her side and fell to her knees, she slid her left arm under her neck pulling her close to her body. With her right hand she placed it over the girl's wound. A glowing white light shimmered down from her fingertips and into the bloodied wound. The sparkles of light began to dance and sink into the blood of the young girl. Her wound began to close up as the light reached her heart to begin it beating once again.
"No come on live damn it live!"
A solitary tear began to fall down Rinoa's face until she noticed the colour returning to the girl's face and a sign of life as her chest began to move again. With a smile she used what little time she had left to try and revitalise the girl a bit more. Rinoa slowly removed her arm and jogged backwards to Noel's side, Angelo stayed by Noel's side but began to bark furiously at the Commander.
"Hit him with all you got guys I will try and keep you going as long as I can..."

No, Noel almost shouted aloud as the girl he had seen only moments before landed a hit one the commander with her fire magic. Not that he wasn't grateful for the extra help, but this wasn't her fight and he didn't want anyone else hurt. Technically though, he supposed it wasn't his fight either as the soldiers had been after Rinoa. He would have to question that one later though. What had she meant about the planet? Were these people somehow to blame for the world he had been born to?
He was torn from his thoughts by a far more powerful flame strike from the commander. He had been prepared to brace himself, only to see the attack hit the newest combatant! He looked on in horror as she fell and watched as Rinoa began to work on the girl. Covering her, Noel ran forward with his blades again, striking the commander with all his might! Briefly glancing over his shoulder, Noel noticed with relief the colour returning to the girls cheeks. At least she hadn't been killed, but if not for Rinoa, the result could have been tragically different.
Returning his attention to the party's foe, he slashed at him again before returning to Rinoa and the girl. At the the formers words, he nodded and flashed her a smile. He wasn't enjoying this, far from it in fact, but he knew what needed to be done to survive. At least with someone like Rinoa on side, he wouldn't have to worry too much about getting too badly hurt. Unfortunately, the commander would probably have also figured this out by now, and so he took a position in front of the girls. His expression was defiant, as if daring their enemy to come at them again! --------------------------------------------------------------------------

Seeing her spells ignite the attire of the Commander, Eshira nodded her head huffily. Anyone who brought harm to mother Gaia deserved to be punished. But just as she began to feel satisfied that justice was dispensed, her naivety would get the better of her. Just simply slapping the foe with a single spell wasn't enough to make him realize his villainous ways, obviously. The Cetran watched on with simple confusion as the commander patted himself out and cast a healing spell on himself. Seeing his sly smirk, Eshira took a step back, raising her staff up. Despite taking up this cautionary stance, she still didn't see his attack coming fully. Nor did she expect there to be a horrible fiery pain accompanying it.
There was a good and a bad to the next few moments. The bad part was the gash that the commander so ably put through her chest and the flesh around her chest and arms now scorched to black. The good part was that she wasn't conscious for long enough to really feel any of that pain.
Her body flew back a couple of feet, tumbling back towards the corner she previously rounded, where she would begin to bleed out at an alarming rate. But before she spilled out enough to send her to the other side, she was already being tended to by the woman she'd spotted earlier. From Eshira's perspective, all she could see was darkness, hearing only a faint echo of what her spirit believed was Gaia trying to speak to her. As Rinoa applied the Life spell, the Cetran suddenly woke with a start, her frail body now completely restored by the dark-haired lady.
The look on her face was still confounded. She had little clue as to what had just happened. One moment she was on her feet, the next she was on the floor, sitting in a pool of red liquid. She had seemingly bypassed a realization of mortality in favour of complete naivety. When she looked to her saviour, she picked up on the tear that rolled down her cheek. "Why are you crying, miss?" the Cetran girl asked, sincerely perplexed. The answer had to wait, however. The fight that she had jumped into was still in progress, with the man now attacking the commander head on. Getting herself into an upright position, Eshira slung her staff up above her head in one hand. Again, flames began to circulate around the head of the staff, but they would not come out in the same way.
Swinging the staff twice towards the ground, the Fire spells that she casted now took on a different form. Instead of fireballs, they became arrows that travelled across the floor, both hurtling towards the commander, seemingly homing in on him. When the arrows reached their mark, they detonated. much as they did before, into a small burst of flames and embers. Eshira, despite failing to know what had just happened to her, still expected a counter-attack. With the other man and Rinoa now standing beside her, she moved closer towards Noel, seeking his protection. Retaining her defiant look, she kept her strange eyes focused on the foe.

The Commander brings his blade up to meet Noels first strike turning the blow from a potentially deadly blow into a glancing wound across his shoulder before he smirks once more as he swings his sword to the side, opening his mouth to unleash a tuant he is greeted by the second slash right down his chest from shoulder to hip the blade flies. The grin vanishes while his blade drops from his hand, blood fleeing from the fatal wound across his chest. He lets out a gasp as he looks towards Noel, the light starting to fade in his eyes as the little mages first fire spell hits him squarely on the chest, knocking him backwards before setting him alight soon followed by a bloodcurdling scream as the second fire spell hits him cuasing his body to be completely covered with the raging fire that burns him where he stands. Only after the flames die away, leaving his charred corpse, does it fall down to the ground.

She closed her eyes tightly until she could hear no more movement or screaming. Angelo started to howl which if the fight hadn't alerted people to their presence he did. This was getting out of hand but a war was coming and people would be killed, she knew she had to accept this but it didn't make it any easier. Slowly Rinoa got to her feet and turned around to face Noel and their new female battle companion. She let her dark eyes flick between the both but ultimately they would always land on Noel for longer. She let her slender hands run through her dark hair before dropping them to her side letting her hands clap against her legs.
"Are you two ok? I'm sorry...I didn't think they would follow me this far."
She was being sincere and maybe not entirely honest. Why wouldn't Shin-ra send their dogs out (no pun intended for Angelo) to try and keep her quiet. Noel and whoever this mage was didn't have any idea of what was going to happen, it would affect them like everyone else on Gaia but Rinoa knew she couldn't just keep warning random people. Eventually she would flap her lips to the wrong person and that could be the end of her. It wasn't like she was under Sorceress Blue's protection she was just a diplomat which wasn't exactly going well. Angelo slowly rubbed up against Rinoa's right leg, she looked down and smiled before looking back up to the woman she had just brought back from the brink of death.
"Thank you for your help Miss?" credit `` columba of on the edge[/style]
It was only after returning to Rinoa and the girl that he realised the extent of the damage he had caused to the groups foe. In fact, saying that he had almost cleaved the guy in half wouldn't have been too much of an exaggeration, but Noel felt no joy in this realisation. He didn't have too much time to dwell on it though as the young girl who had just been healed by Rinoa launched another fiery attack. Connecting with the stricken SOLDIER, he turned away sharply as the flames engulfed him, essentially burning away his life force and all he had been, replacing with a grotesque, lifeless figure. As he fell to the ground, Noel almost fell with him upon the realisation of what he had done. His hands curled into a white knuckled grip around his blades, so as not to drop them. What had he done, he thought in horror as he looked over the lifeless corpses that lay before him? Hopes and dreams, fears and disappointments, only a small percentage of what made a person a person, and now these three men had none...because of him. It didn't matter that they had started the whole thing, nor the fact that if he hadn't fought back, he would most likely have been the one lying dead.
As he could feel his eyes begin sting, he almost forgot about the girls even being there, never mind their involvement in the whole thing. He heard Rinoa asking if he was okay, but he didn't answer. Instead, he sheathed his blades and made his way over to what was formally the soldiers that had attacked him. He stood over there bodies with and expression reminiscent of mourning.
"Rest well", he wished his fallen foes in a voice that was barely a whisper, even though he knew that they would likely never hear him. Though they had meant to kill him, along with his comrades, Noel had intended on letting them live. Human life was precious after all, and he appreciated every single one in a way that only a man born at the end of days possibly could.
Blinking, he turned to face the other two. He two was curious as to the young mage's name, but more so about what had happened. One thing was for certain though, they would need to leave the area, quickly. He didn't know what kind of punishment taking the life of another wrought in this place, but he knew it likely wasn't pretty. He turned to face Rinoa, his voice breaking as he began.
"...what...in the name of Etro was that all about? He asked, his voice getting louder as he finished the sentence. His voice wasn't quite a shout, shouting wasn't really in his nature, but still raised in his, was frustration the right word? Everything in this world was so different to the one he had been born to. Events seemed to be spiraling out of his control, forcing him to do things he would ordinarily never dream of. He wasn't angry with either Rinoa, or the mage, but the whole situation was a little much.
Composing himself once again, he turned his attention back to the others. "We should probably get out of here, he added a lot more calmly. Perhaps Rinoa could explain what had just transpired, and more importantly why, in a less conspicuous location.

As the enemy commander met with the colourful series of attacks, he found himself meeting his end. The painful wails he emitted after being struck by her fire spells made Eshira frown. But not in contempt... more in worry. It didn't take long for their foe to be silenced permanently. Despite these men being a part of the problem Gaia faced and in-turn, being a problem for her, she couldn't help but feel this outcome was a little too much. She turned her head away from the burning corpse, unwilling to look at what she had done. Her expression had become noticeably more regretful as the members of this makeshift party began to regroup. Before she began spurting out nonsense, she had pulled up a justification, which she mumbled to herself within earshot of the other two. "The bad men hurt Gaia... so they get punished..." she said, self-reassuringly.
The man and woman began to talk amongst themselves, regarding the battle they were just involved in. Eshira turned her attention to their discussion, using it as a reason to evade thinking about her actions, and quickly pondering also as to why these men attacked. As she opened her mouth to speak, Rinoa had turned her attention to the little Cetran and was asking for a name. For a moment, she stared at Rinoa, a little dumbfounded, but soon found her muse to answer. "I'm Eshira Pekora! I come from Cetra!" she said, in a sudden burst of pride. She accompanied her announcement with a bright grin. "I'm here to explore the world and help Mother Gaia to stop crying!" she continued suddenly. Next, the man decided they should travel elsewhere. That wasn't a bad idea in Eshira's books... after all, there was a charred corpse right nearby that she seriously didn't want to stand near.

Rinoa glanced down to the young girl who had just introduced herself. An interesting name to be sure and also from Cetra. She didn't know the ins and outs but she was fairly certain Cetran's were a rare breed compared to the other races on Gaia. Angelo was now starting to become a little restless which meant it was definetly time to start moving. She leant down to grab his collar but by this time he had moved over to Eshira and begun to sniff at the young girl. With a grumble but a smile on her face Rinoa leant down and began to pull Angelo back.
"Eshira thank you for your help with those guys. I think you are right Noel we need to get moving to Esthar as soon as possible."
With one last pull Angelo was now back at her side, he whined at her which she ignored. There were more pressing matters than a disobdient dog. Her eyes then scanned over Noel once more which proceeded to make her cheeks flush a bright pink. Thankfully her long dark hair fell down across her face as she stood back up straight. Through the gaps in her hair she kept looking to him for a few moments listening to what he had to say. Rinoa felt a pang of guilt sear through her as it did finally hit home that this was her fault and she had put two people in quite some serious danger. Because they had helped her they would now be on SOLDIERs radar which was never a good position to be in. Rinoa sighed as she glanced to both Noel and Eshira.
"Do you need taking home or..anywhere? We are going to catch an airship to Esthar and I'm sure it will stop off in other places.."
