"So this is Lindblum. Not much to look at though." Iron-hand slung his backpack over his shoulder before passing through the crowds of people starting to form at the docks. No doubt that each person had their reasons for being there. For Iron-hand, it was the first stop on his much longer travels, though in truth, he had no idea where he was going.
"Could always try the inn for some work. Wouldn't hurt to make a few coins before moving on. Just need to get away from the docks first. Smell of fish and ocean all stuck in my sinus." He started to walk away from the docks, his mind made up. Once far enough away from the docks, he would follow his nose, certainly, it wouldn't be hard to find an inn in Lindblum. The smell of beer would be his guide. Failing that, he would just ask one of the locals.

For one, it was a lot quieter without the perpetual sandstorm that had guarded her home for centuries, but still loud enough to be comforting to her large ears. Twitching her tail in anticipation as she made her way through the throng of people taking care of their own business, the first thing that crossed her mind was the location of the local inn. This was one of the amenities that she liked to track down, just in case, but another good location was the market! She loved shopping, and to have the chance to do so on the road would open her up to many new and exotic things that she could have never hoped to have glimpsed otherwise!
Filled with anticipation, the rodent girl had to remind herself why she was here. Pulling out a map of Lindblum she had acquired from a traveling moogle on the road, Adelina perused it's contents. Unfortunately, whilst doing this she had continued walking and knocked into someone. A look of surprise crossed her features and her whiskers twitched nervously as she turned to face the man.
"I'm really sorry", she offered in apology for her carelessness as clasped her hands together, still holding the now slightly crumpled map, and gave a short bow. Hopefully, this person wouldn't be too mad with her for not watching where she was going. [/style]
It had been almost half an hour now since he had departed from the docks and all he could still smell was the fish that he assumed must have swam up his nose while he slept. "Not making any progress. Feels like I'm lost...... Hmm.... Lost." His eyes lit up as he gave himself a brief, toothy grin as he spoke those words to himself. Without wasting time, Iron-hand pulled out his smart phone and headphones before scrolling through the massive archive of music of his homeland. It didn't take him long to find what he was looking for. "Ha. Dr Steel, Land of the Lost. Now this is irony for you." He hit the play icon on his phone, letting the music flood his ears.
He became so absorbed in his music that he barely noticed Adelina crashing right into him. With a bit of a daft look on his face, he pulled his headphones off, looking left and right for the person he assumed he crashed into. "Huh? Wuzzat?" was all he could say.

Adelina cocked her head and her ears twitched a little as she looked him over.
"Are you okay", she asked in response to the mans dumbfounded expression. It seemed as though he hadn't even seen her yet, so now was the opportune moment to sneak away and pretend this had never happened. However, there were two reasons that kept her from doing so. The most important one, was of course his welfare. The reaction to her carelessness may very well be that of hostility, but she couldn't just walk away without making sure she hadn't hurt him. That would be wrong, wouldn't it?
The second reason was the strange object that he had removed from his ears. What were those things anyway, she wondered? Adelina had yet to see anything like them before, but the way he yanked them from his head suggested that maybe they were important. A thought then occurred to her as she remained on the spot, her tail swaying from side to side as she twirled her lock of her brown hair.
"Did I break your ear warmers?", the cleyran asked rather innocently but with an air of concern. She called them 'ear warmers' as she couldn't fathom what other kind of purpose they would serve. Why else would anyone cover their ears? Unless it was of course to block off some kind of sound, and she immediately felt slightly foolish at the realisation. [/style]
"Am I okay? The question should be are you okay?" It had taken Iron-hand a couple of moments to snap his music addled brain back into action. He blinked twice, kicking himself back into a more level headed frame of mind. He could have sworn that it was he who had crashed into her and not the other way around, he was distracted by his music when it happened. He almost had to wonder how he hadn't bowled the cleyran over, after all, he did have the advantage of weight and height on her. It was a wonder how she had managed to stay standing when he would have normally bowled over someone of such a light body frame.
It was only then he started to process her second line of inquiry. "Ear warmers?" he thought, looking a little confused at her statement. "What ear warmers. I've only got my.... Oh." With a bemused look, he realized what Adelina had meant. "Not ear warmers. Headphones. Guess you haven't seen something like these before. Not that its hard to understand why. No offense intended." He decided it was best to quickly change the topic, after all, if he was going to apologies to the lady, he might as well know her name. "Iron-hand" he said, extending his hand in greeting which ironically served to show the source of his name and moniker.

"Oh, my apologies", she said as she could feel her cheeks starting to flush. To be honest, she still didn't know what these headphone things were, but though better of asking for the time being. At least he was being friendly for now, especially by returning her earlier sentiment, although she couldn't help but notice that he avoided her first question.
Standing before him, it was only now that she really took in the appearance of this man. He looked human, by all rights, but with rather a large build. How she hadn't been flattened by the huge man was beyond her, but then she supposed that someone must have been watching out for her there. That, or her dancing skills had given her a superior kind of balance that had made it possible to remain standing.
Deciding that the latter was far more likely, she placed her hand behind her back and rocked on the spot as the human male introduced himself and held a hand out to her. Thankfully, she had heard of this gesture of greeting, although the thought of grasping his large and gauntleted hand was a little on the worrying side! Still, it would be impolite to decline, and so she offered a small, clawed hand and placed it into his, praying to whichever deity of Gaia was listening that he didn't crush her slightly more delicate appendage in his grasp. The reason behind his name, or alias as she was left to assume, was rather apparent!
"My name is Adelina", she informed him as she gave him her hand. "I'm from Cleyra", she also chose to inform him. Not many Burmecians/cleyrans, otherwise known as 'rat people', ventured from their home cities on the mist continent, so not many humans around here were likely to have seen any of them, never mind outsiders! Still, the explanation was probably a little redundant, given that he obviously hadn't been bothered by her appearance. That, he was good at keeping these things to himself. [/style]
It was easy for him to see the question in her eye about the source of his rather unusual name. He almost felt compelled to explain it but decided against in, rather choosing instead to finish formal introductions. His hands, while easily capable of crushing her rather delicate clawed hand gently closed around hers, completing the greeting he was offering her. "Cleyra? Never herd of that place." He felt kind of foolish though for admitting it thought. He felt like an outsider in these lands despite having lived for over a year on Crescent with the farmers that he often worked for.
"Maybe its probably a bad time to admit that I'm not from around these places." Without saying more, he gently let go of Adelina's hand, taking a few moments to think to himself before continuing on. 'She seems nice enough. Apologetic of what seems an accident on my part here. Maybe........' Though his mind was urging otherwise, he decided to go against his thought. Worse come to worse, he would just be called a nutter. Nothing new in his books he felt. "Western Australia, Australia is where I'm originally from." He let those words hang in the air, decided to see how Adelina would react to what must have been to her, a rather odd name for his true homelands.

Sure, it wasn't exactly the most prominent place on the map, far from it, but most people around here had at least heard of it.
"It's a beautiful place", she gushed out before continuing "It's a small town at the top of a huge tree, surrounded by a sandstorm that has been there for centuries. It's there to protect us and isn't easy to enter or leave." Adelina then looked quite pleased with herself as she continued, irrespective of the stranger interest or even wish to hear of such things. "But I did it, and now I'm going to realise my dream of exploring the world!" She really was rather naive and idealistic, but hey, she was happy right?
Cocking her head again as the man told her of his birthplace, the cleyran's curiosity had well and truly been piqued. She'd never heard of the place, but then Cleyra was rather isolated, as she had earlier implied. There were many places out there she had never heard of, but she particularly liked the name of this one.
"Australia? Wow, that sounds really far away and exotic! What's it like? I'd love to go there..." [/style]
"A sandstorm? I've only seen one of those before when the winds of my home kicked up sand for a day and a night. Probably not as bad as I've herd what a truly powerful sandstorm." He sighed as he started to realize that mentioning his true homelands was a mistake. They held powerful memories for him, so much so that they drove him close to tears. He closed his eyes as a couple of tears rand down his face.
"You will never be able to see my true homelands. I am far from them." His right hand moved to touch his left thumb as he remembered the vague instance of his arcane teleportation to Crescent. "I'm a man far from his home. Never will I be able to return to those lands." He was close to crying now as he could feel the memories of his youth spent playing video games and generally, his own fantasy world. If he had only known what would happen to him in later life.
"I now live on Crescent. Home now there for me for over a year, helping with the crops and the local wild fiend population. It kind of has become my home now." He felt close to breaking down now at the thought of home, of those he had now left behind. Iron-hand walked over to a nearby bench, sitting down on the worn wooden planks. His fingers were gently running up and down the length of his gauntlets.
Without even realizing it, Iron-hand broke into tears. The flood of memories now to much for him to keep buried. "I miss my home. Those that I've left behind. My life. Changed now." He rested his face in his iron clad hands. "I really miss my homeland."

She couldn't help but feel a little bad as he recounted how far he was from his home. But surely no matter how far away someone was from their home, they could always return there right? For some reason, that didn't seem to be the case here and she wondered how he had gotten to be so far.
The cleyran adopted a rather surprised expression as the man sat down and started to cry. Oh great, the first person she had really spoken to since leaving home and she'd made him cry! Still, no use worrying about it now, in fact there had to be someway to cheer him up. Placing a clawed finger to her chin, she thought for a couple of moments before practically bouncing into a seated position beside him.
"I don't know what happened, but if something brought you here then something can take you back, right?" In fact, to her it was a given fact of logic, but then Adelina wasn't usually the most logical of people.
Leaping back to her feet, the rodent woman pulled a handkerchief from, well goodness knows where in her limited attire, and held it out to Iron-Hand, leaning forward as she did so before continuing. "Besides, everything happens for a reason, and if you want to find out what the reason is and go home, then I'll help you!" Truth was, in a crisis she really did prefer to take a back seat, but sometimes one had to make a stand. Whether he accepted or declined her help, she had at least done the right thing, hadn't she? [/style]
He looked up at Adelina, blinking his eyes clear of the tears that were flowing quite freely from his eyes. "You think so?" He said softly, wiping the tears from his eyes and politely declining the use of her handkerchief. "You think that dagger, with ancient runes of power, was meant to bring me here for a reason? I....... I wasn't much back home. A gamer, a reenactor. My skills........" He went quiet, hoping that the cleyran would catch the drift of what he was trying to say.
'Why me? I'm a nobody. There must have been others that this could have happened to. Others more deserving of such an adventure of a lifetime. What if she said was true though. That I was chosen to come here for a specific reason. It wasn't exactly a secret that I was a little unconventional in my means of thinking after all. Thinking of all kinds of things, asking that 'what if's'. Was it that reason alone that I was dragged here?' He let his thoughts trail off for a moment as he wiped away the final tears from his face.
"Your really sure that I was supposed to come here for a specific reason and purpose?" He looked at Adelina, a sense of hope could be seen in Iron-hand's eyes. "I still can't understand why someone...... Or something would choose me for this."

So it was an enchanted dagger of some kind that had brought him here? Interesting, but it was a start. She had promised to help him, but to be honest she didn't really know where to begin. She had a few ideas of course, for one maybe the esteemed Doctor Tot knew of such things? Or maybe one of these auction houses she had heard of? There had to be someone around here who knew of these things, surely? That or they could point them in the right direction.
As her new acquaintance continued speaking, Adelina smiled warmly.
"Hey, why does fate choose any of us, right? Like I said, everything happens for a reason, it's just not always easy to see is all. Not unless you go looking for it anyway. Even if your being here is an accident, I'm sure there's still still find a way to get you home." Somehow she doubted that his being here was an accident. Adelina was a big believer in fate, after all. What else could have left him to cheer him up? Then again, he wouldn't have been that upset in the first place, if she had kept her mouth shut...
"Anyway, dry your eyes and lets get you cheered up! Hmmm, what to do though..." [/style]
He couldn't help but look up at Adelina and smile faintly despite remembering the fact that his head and shoulders nearly parted company thanks to the farmer that took him in. "You are the kindest person I have met so far Adelina" he said, slowly standing up with some trouble. One of his knives sheaths had decided to wedge itself down the back of the bench he was sitting on, leading him to shuffle left and right a couple of times, a muted curse parting his lips when he finally managed to free himself from the bench. He made a mental note to reposition his knife sheath when he got the chance.
"What to do indeed. What do you want to do?" He suddenly realized what he just said, resulting in a face palm and a audible groan. "Ugh. This problem again. I thought I left it behind when I came here. Reminds me of some friends back home that thought I was a little out of my mind here." He rolled his eyes at the memory which thankfully, didn't cause him to break down into tears. He wasn't particularly close with his friends, but they were friends none the less despite that.
"I can only thing of a handful of things to do and I'm not sure if they are possible here. I am what one might say, navigationally incompetent. But if there are places here, then I don't know where they are." Iron-hand looked left and right, emphasizing the point of being somewhat lost in this new town. He knew that he was never the best at navigating, getting lost even in his own small hometown at times. "All I can think of" he continued, "is some sort of cafe, the local markets or the inn. Don't think I want to visit the last one on the list though right now."

It was nice of him to say, but really she was just trying to help. At least he seemed a little more cheery now though, she thought, although she'd have to be careful what she said from here on out.
Standing back to allow him room to stand up, the cleyran couldn't help but notice his struggle to do so. She noticed that the problem was a sheath containing some kind of nice. It had become wedged between a couple of planks of the wood, and she almost reached out to help him remove the offending article. There were two reason she didn't, one being that he appeared to be managing on his own. The other reason was that any on lookers may have gotten the wrong idea, and that would have been embarrassing for both of them!
Answering her question regarding what to do, she twitched her whiskers at the 'navigationally incompetent' remark. Truth was, her sense of direction wasn't that great either, but then she did have one of two advantages over this human, being a rodent and all!
"Well, tell me what those things are and I'm sure we can find something close", she responded to Iron hand's not being sure if the activities he wished for existed around here. He then mentioned going to either the market, a cafe or the inn, before changing his mind about the latter. Maybe he wasn't feeling tired right now, she thought, as the only thing at the inn in Lindblum was beds. Perhaps he was getting confused with the pub in the city's business district? Either way, it took little thought to decide where she wanted to go!
"Ooh, let's go to the market! I love shopping an I wanna see what kind of things they sell around here!" She's heard that they even sold action figures of the Lindblum and Alexandrian royal families there, including the recently coronated Queen Garnet! The new queen was so pretty, although it was a shame what had supposedly happened to Queen Brahne... [/style]
'I was more thinking farmer's market. Guess it will have to do. Might be able to pick up a couple of jars of preserves while browsing the markets. Hope they ain't like those of the big city.' Iron-hand felt like slapping himself, he meant the farmers market, not the regular markets. To late to change his mind though, he had said the markets and was now stuck with his choice. Maybe, in his mind, he could pick up a new blade or find a stall selling some preserves. Stuff that would be helpful to him on the long roads he was about to set out on.
"Umm.... Two questions. First of, which way to the markets?" He said, scratching the back of his head, clearly showing the signs that he was completely and utterly lost in Lindblum. "Second one, which is probably a little more personal, which way to your homelands? Might make a note to visit there." Iron-hand reached into one of his pockets, pulling out his Smart Phone, a couple of quick taps on the screen brought up a map of the entire world. He stooped down a little, letting Adelina see the screen and the map he had brought up. He was genuinely now interested in visiting her homelands. He wanted to see these so called sandstorms she had briefly described to him in person.

That, or she had said something dumb again, the former being slightly preferable.
"You still want to go, right?", she asked before Iron hand seemed to counter with his own questions. A smile broke out on her face as she began to answer the first of his questions.
"The markets are in the business district" she gushed rather excitedly before continuing, "We could walk there, but it's a long way and my sense of direction isn't much better than yours. We'll take the air cab, follow me! If he followed on, then this would be her second ride in one of those things. She had to admit it they were kind of fun!
Before she could get too carried away though, Iron hand asked another question, stopping her in her tracks with an almost audible screech. "You want to visit my home?", Adelina asked as she turned around and tilted of her head a little. "Sure, I can tell them all about the wonderful time I've had in Lindblum! She had hoped to have more stories to tell before returning home, but who was she to deny his request? "It's on this continent, we'd need to leave by the Dragon's gate! It's quite a way out, but I can show you if you like." [/style]
Iron-hand took two steps after Adelina before coming to a complete dead stop. "Air what now?" He looked utterly lost and confused now. Up to this point, he had been familiar with the technology of his homelands as well as that of Crescent continent, but this new word, this Air Cab, totally derailed any kind of thoughts he had at that moment in time.
"I think I'm definitely going deaf now. Did you say Air Cab? What is that? Some kind of giant bird that carries people around in its claws or something?" It was basically all that Iron-hand could think of for this Air Cab. Obviously, he needed to do some more research into these different continents, if only to prevent himself from looking like a complete and utter idiot. He made a mental note to himself to research everything he could on his next destination. No point in making it even more obvious that he wasn't from the place he was visiting.

"Air cabs are these carriage like things that run on mist and travel through a track in the, well, air." That was the best way of describing them from the little she had actually seen. Perhaps it would be easier to show rather than tell, she reasoned as she turned tail and led the way to the station.
On arrival, it didn't seem to be all that busy. Then again, it was that period of time they called a rush hour, when everyone would be returning home from work, just yet, so things were bound to be reasonably quiet for a while longer at least. There was no cab in yet, but there were plenty of maps and things to investigate in the mean time! Doing so would probably be a good idea, but for now her mind wandered back to the device that Iron hand had used to show her a map. It made her crumpled paper version seem slightly inadequate, and she wondered where she could get one of those things. Problem was, the gil cost would likely be through the roof, but if her dancing and ocarina skills were good enough, then that wouldn't be too much of a problem, right?
"So what was that thing you showed that map on anyway?" May as well make some kind of conversation while they were waiting for the air cab to arrive. [/style]
At this point, Iron-hand decided that it was best if he just saw what Adelina was talking about instead of trying to guess what this air cab was. His arrival at what he could only describe as a taxi waiting area with Adelina told him one thing that seemed to be a constant no matter where he was. It was the dreaded rush hour, everyone was desperate to either get to work or leave from work to go home. He knew that it was during this time that there wouldn't be any kind of transportation available save their own two legs. Deciding it was better to wait then have to huff it who knows how far to the markets, he began to examine some of the maps posted on the walls.
He couldn't help but notice Adelina walking from map to map, looking at each one with a degree of interest. He also couldn't help but notice that she was thinking about something. "Poor girl. Probably wondering about this piece of tech I pulled out of my pocket. Don't seem like there is anything else like it around here. From what I can tell anyway. Never know, some region might have something similar to this kind of gear I have." It was at that moment he decided to speak up, there wasn't anything else to do other than just stare at maps till one of these so called air cabs decided to come see if there was anyone in need of a ride.
"Its a smart phone" Iron-hand finally said after a couple of long minuets of silence. "Common piece of technology in my world anyway. A computer in your hand essentially. Can make phone calls, surf the internet, listen to music, heck, even take photos with it. Could even connect it to your network provided you had one. These things are becoming more common back home, almost everyone had one. Doubt though you could find this kind of technology in a place like this. We were in the information age, where information was just a powerful weapon as any gun or blade."
occ: HTC Wildfire, just assume its had some software updates to work here

None of it made too much sense, she'd never heard of a computer for one, but what she did understand was that it was called smart for a reason. Something like that would definitely come in handy if she were to travel from her home on the Mist Continent. She had heard that some parts of the world were rather more technologically advance than here, and this Australia place sounded that way too!
The information age. That was what he had called his time period back home, and it was a term that intrigued her greatly. Particularly his description of having the right information being a more powerful weapon than guns or blades.
"Knowledge is a powerful weapon", she agreed as she continued to pace around the waiting area with her hands clasped behind her back. "But too much can be more dangerous than any physical weapon. The leader of our town said so." She believed it too, although perhaps that was because she valued the high priests words so much. Part of the reason for her journey was so that she could make her own mind up about these things, after all.
It was then that a rumbling sound could be heard, and Adelina caught sight of the air cab arriving. Letting out a squeal of excitement, she grabbed on to Iron hands arm.
"There it is, there it is!" she repeated for no particular reason. "Shall we?" [/style]
"Guess it all depends on one's point of view." Iroh-hand shrugged, slipping his hands into his pockets. "My homelands, we were starting to fight our wars by remote control. Already had aerial drones that could make precision strikes on ground targets." He let his words trail off as he herd the sounds of what he could describe as a train.
"Air car that runs on train tracks? Now I'm thoroughly confused here." He was about to scratch his head when Adelina grabbed his arm, tugging him towards the platform. The sight of the air cab that Adelina had been speaking about nearly broke the last of the logic running in his mind. "Wait. Is that......" He had to rub his eyes, making sure he wasn't hallucinating at what he saw. "Steam powered technology? Reminds me of a song here." He couldn't help himself, the air cab had reminded him of a song he really liked to listen to while driving around in his homelands. A couple of quick taps on his smart phone rewarded him with a song that really described his current train of thought.

Aerial drones? Adelina's eye began to rather resemble dinner plates at the thought of such things. She would guess that the latter rather resembled flying fiends of some kind, but the former puzzled her somewhat. She had heard of these radio things, of course, but could they really be used to control things?
As the air cab pulled up, Adelina couldn't help but giggle a little at Iron hand's dumbfounded expression.
"Close enough", she giggle in response to his question regarding steam. He then pulled out his 'smart phone' again, as he mentioned songs. So it played music too, but the particular song he chose to play was...different. Her ears twitched a little as it was nothing like what she had heard before. Was this australian music? If it was, then she really didn't know what to make of it. Perhaps it would grow on her, as would the music of the other cultures in this world. That's why she was traveling after all, to experience new things.
Climbing into the cab, she shuffled over in order to let her far larger companion room to enter. Perhaps it would have been better for him to enter first, but alas it was too late now! It wouldn't make too much difference anyway, she supposed. [/style]
"Hmm" was all Iron-hand could say as he tapped his gauntlets against the metal of the air cab, as if appraising its structural strengths. After a couple of these metallic taps, he felt confident enough to board the air cab.
"Never seen this kind of technological development before here. How does something like this even work?" He couldn't help but scratch his head. He was truly dumbfounded at this latest development in transportation. In his entire life, he had the benefit of enjoying the modernized technology and internal combustion engines. This on the other hand defied even the most basic principles of science. At least in his mind that was.
"How can something like this even exist yet alone function so well? Do the laws of space time physics no longer apply here?" Iron-hand was pretty sure that this was the first of many discoveries on his long travels. Mentally, he swore to himself that he would check everything he could find on the places he was going to travel, if only to save him looking like a complete idiot at the sight of such strange technologies.

Perhaps he was checking if it could hold his weight, she wondered as he continued inspecting the vehicle. If he didn't hurry it up, there wouldn't be any room left for him, and the cleyran cussed herself for not having waited. What if the cab took off without him and they lost each other?
This thankfully wasn't the case, as her new friends finally decided to board. He seemed to be rather curious about how the contraption actually worked, and she lowered her head in thought.
"To be honest, I never even thought about it", she admitted as she too wondered what it was exactly that made it tick. Maybe they could ask in the other station once they reached their destination, if Iron-hand was still curious. For now though, the cab let out a slight groan before moving off along the track. Adelina didn't feel unsafe in the slightest though, as they left the confines of the station. These things must have been built to withstand ten times Iron-hand's weight, and the relatively smooth ride seemed to confirm this. The cab swayed a little in the wind, but other than that it was, as she had previously thought, a relatively smooth ride.
Looking down, she could see the city below and glanced down as the people got on with their day to day business. Well, late afternoon business, but their was no need to be picky! The markets would be open for a little yet, so there was no rush to reach their destination. Just as well, she thought, as these air cab things weren't particularly fast. [/style]
Iron-hand swayed as he reached for one of the hand rails inside the air cab. Obviously, he was a man more at home on Terra firma than that of a moving vehicle. "I could always try digging around on the net to see if I can't find some schematics or something on this thing...... Once we reach the station of course." He was gripping the hand rails quite firmly. Despite the ride having smoothed out, the subtle swaying of the air cab was enough to screw with his sense of balance.
"This thing. It doesn't make any sense still to me here. I'm used to airplanes here, but this, its screwing with my sense of balance badly here." Iron-hand nearly fell over, as if emphasizing the point. It was true, the strange harnessing of aircraft and rail cart was throwing off what little sense of balance he had. "The station better not be far away. Don't know how long I'll be staying on my feet at this rate anyway."

What net, Adelina wondered but thought better than to ask. Her companion was probably already bored with her constant questions, so she simply nodded and turned back to the window. He sure was keen to know more about this thing, which made her wonder what the people of Australia used for transport. Nothing like the air cabs, that was for certain!
The earlier rocking of the cab had long since given way to a gentle swaying motion, not unlike that of a mother gently rocking a crib in order to soothe her young child. Her eyelids grew heavy at the comparison, but she was determined not to fall asleep. That would be bad, especially seeing as she was prone to drooling in her sleep. Besides, seeing as they were standing, she didn't wish to land on anyone as well as soak them!
At Iron hand's comment, Adelina glanced once again from the window and smiled as she could see the other station coming into view.
"Yes, nearly there! That's the other station, see?" She pointed with a long, clawed finger toward said station as it appeared to grow in size the closer they came. Another thing she noticed was that some of the market stalls were still there. She couldn't tell what exactly they were selling, but she had heard of a local delicacy that was sold down there. Apparently, she would smell it before she saw it, whatever that meant! [/style]
Iron-hand was still gripping the hand railing quite firmly, if it weren't for his gauntlets, everyone would see his rather now white knuckles holding on as the rough rocking that had started had now settled out into a gentle swaying. He could almost swear that for a moment, a feeling of sea sickness had overcome him, something that normally wouldn't happen. He was used to the movement of things, after all, he did do a lot of driving around his hometown even if he had no where to go.
When Adelina finally made mention of them on their final approach to their destination, he felt a sense of relief. This ride, unusual in its method of propulsion and technology design, was really screwing badly with his sense of balance. "Good. I'm almost ready to fall over from this ride. Not normal at all. More used to driving here. This air cab. Don't make sense to me now that I've ridden it." He kept his sights firmly fixed on the station, as soon as the air cab came to a complete stop and the gates opened, he would be out of the vehicle faster than greased lightning.

Iron hand would likely be pleased, she thought, as he had seemed most uncomfortable during the ride down. She guessed that they would be walking next time, but that didn't matter right now as she allowed those in front of her to disembark. It was a miracle she had remained standing when Iron-hand had bumped into her, so she really didn't want to push her luck. Then again, she supposed that she was hard to miss, even despite her small frame. Not many burmecians or cleyrans ventured out here, after all!
Exiting the cab, Adelina looked for Iron-hand before skipping from the station and out into the open. Most of the market stalls were still there, though they were mostly food vendors of some shape or form. Gazing at the small collection of stalls, the cleyran turned to her human companion. He had mentioned driving, and once again her curiosity got the better of her.
"So what do you drive anyway", she asked. Not air cabs, obviously, but she'd heard of a great many different kinds of transport.
Realising that her question was completely random, as most of hers were, she then turned her attention back to the stalls.
"Not that much variety here, but then we're pretty late." They had likely missed the full compliment of stalls, but then that didn't really matter. It was nice to make a new friend and hang out for a little while. How many more would she make on her journey, she wondered? [/style]
"Terra firma. How I missed you so." He felt relieved to be out of that blasted strange contraption, but knew that he would have to use it again to get back to the other side of town. By his estimates, the journey that had taken only a handful of minuets by air cab would take almost half an hour to complete on foot. No need to rush getting back onto that air cab anytime soon though.
Iron-hand couldn't help but watch as Adelina skipped right past him, out to the front of the station. "Don't know how she can be so happy there still after a ride like that. Probably just me who can't stand that kind of ride." He shrugged his shoulders, slipping his hands into his pockets as he followed, easily catching up to the Cervian in less than a minuet.
"What do I drive? Not that there's much of an example out here. But it was called a car. Basically put, drove on the ground, four wheels. Pretty stable and very good at keep out the dust and rain when your trying to get from point A to point B." He gave his gut a quick scratch as he gave the markets a quick glance from where he was standing. "Looks like that stalls I wanted to check out have already closed. Guess the farmers market only runs until noonish I'm thinking here."
He rummaged around in his pocket quickly, digging out his smart phone. A quick glance at the screen was all he needed as a frown formed on his face. "4:48pm. From the guide I quickly glanced at while traveling here, the final market store closes about 7pm. The markets I wanted are already closed......... Bugger."

Maybe he would get used to it all, after all most things were scary when they were new. Speaking for herself, she found the aircabs to be rather fun, but that was just her opinion of course. The citizens of this place probably saw it as a little more than some kind of convenience that they took for granted. Rather like how her own people accepted the presence of the sandstorm that surrounded their home, whilst others found it unusual and maybe even a little scary.
Slowing a little to let him catch up, the cleyran tilted her head as he answered her question. A car huh? She'd heard of those things, mainly from tales of the regions of Galbadia, Midgar and Esthar. She had never seen one of course, and she couldn't help but wonder what one of those was like to travel in (or on, for all she knew).
Reaching their destination, Adelina crossed her arms as Iron hand once again checked his 'smart phone'. She really did need to get one of those, she thought longingly, before taking notice of what was in front of her once more.
"Oh poopie", she added in agreement to her companions sentiment. "Oh well, you could always try back tomorrow! I hear there's a farmers market tomorrow, if that's what your in to." Well, even if he wasn't, it was still going to be on, and she rather looking forward to it. She'd never seen a farmers market before. For now though, there were still a few stalls to look at, and she skipped over to the nearest one in order to admire what was left of their wares. [/style]
