Appearance: Picture: Shizuma Kamira
Shizuma is an athletic young man with light blue eyes and sandy blonde hair. He has a slight tan from growing up on Balamb Island as a young child. His physique is that of someone who trains hard on a regular basis, not overly muscular but in peak condition for his weight and height. He stands at about 5’10” and weighs in around 165 lbs.
His main attire usually consists of a plain black t-shirt with red pants and a matching red jacket with a pair of black combat styled boots. He also wears a pair of tan gloves on his hands for gripping his weapon of choice and expertise, a gunblade. When wearing his weapon, he usually carries it in a black sheath that crosses over his chest and rests on his back so he can reach back and grab the hilt of his weapon.
Shizuma has an air of confidence about himself that comes off somewhat smug and can usually be seen with a daring smile on his face.
Alignment:
Neutral Evil
Profession:
SeeD trained Mercenary
Personality:
Shizuma is a passionate young man filled with plenty of spirit and determination to take on all obstacles that may try to stand in his way. He’s a prideful individual as well, who cherishes his family’s name. It’s unclear to him why, but he has an insatiable desire to become strong and constantly finds himself training hard to reach new heights. It’s his daredevil-like enthusiasm that can make others see him as a reckless and/or selfish individual.
Despite Shizuma coming off as a hot-blooded young man on the surface, he is more than capable of going through with cold-blooded actions to protect people or things he cherishes, no matter the consequences. He usually works with those who can help him along with his ambition or he deems the individual(s) in question worthy of his service to one degree or another. Once he sets his mind to something, Shizuma can become quite a charismatic individual that others can get behind thanks to his inspiring drive.
Shizuma for the most part seems like a healthy young adult, just with hidden issues he dwells on in himself. Problems that he seldom expresses to anyone concerning his upbringing that has helped shape him into the person he is now. Although he won’t admit it, he also has a soft spot for cute things.

HISTORY:
PAST There are many questions Shizuma has about his origins, his clan, and why he was essentially abandoned at such a young age. Questions he continues to seek and fight for even now, but for the time being all he can go by is what he remembers growing up. Shizuma was dropped in the care of Garden as a toddler, who took him in as one of their own like any other orphaned youth. His earliest memories started when he was four years old, playing in the daycare centers for all the kids who were too young to start their studies to become SeeD. It had to have been the most peaceful time of Shizuma’s life and where he met his four best friends, who became more like his family. Their names were Matt, Lisa, Trey and Asuka…
They all gravitated to one another, seeming as they all had arrived in the Garden under similar circumstances. There were times all five of them wondered about their parents and what may have happened to them or anyone else in their family. However, in supporting each other they made their way through good and bad times, only strengthening their bonds until they became eligible to take part in classes that would eventually set them up for adult life in the Garden. At least that was how Shizuma thought things were going to happen for him.
At the age of six, he was visited by a messenger of his clan and was informed of his purpose for being where he was and that his family had high hopes for him to achieve a certain goal. That goal was for him to become a strong warrior and earn the approval and right to fight alongside his fellow clansmen. The Kamira clan worked as mercenaries, well known in the black markets for their expertise in completing various missions all over the land for various groups. Only a chosen few were selected to become successors to the tradition and Shizuma happened to be part of the latest generation of the main bloodline. To be made aware of such information, that he was being monitored in the shadows and that his family knew where he was shocked Shizuma immensely. Yet, the promise of eventually meeting his blood relatives if he could prove himself was something he couldn’t just dismiss. So many emotions bounced around his young mind, but he was determined to actually go through with it. If nothing else, he was going to give the person who decided his fate more than just a piece of his mind if ever did get truly strong enough to meet their qualifications.
Having told his friends of his encounter with his family, everyone was supportive of Shizuma’s decision except for Trey. Out of the three boys, Trey could relate to him the most and was angered that Shizuma would just go along with what his clan wanted out of him. They both knew it meant he would probably have to leave the Garden at some point, and that was something Trey didn’t want out of someone he considered a brother. It marked the beginning of their rivalry, with Asuka usually being near the middle of their fights as she kept them from hurting one another. It didn’t help as time went on that both began to compete for her affection either.
Being set on a path, Shizuma began to claim his identity as a Kamira clansman. Every birthday he had, he would be given a letter from the messenger of his clan. With an annual reminder that he was being watched, Shizuma strengthened his resolve and upped the intensity of his work ethic so that he could be ready to not only take the SeeD field exam, but pass it with extraordinary results that his clansmen would have to take notice. The more Shizuma immersed himself in this role, the more confident he became and the more Trey came to resent him for proudly shouting his family’s name…
Ten years after that fateful encounter, Shizuma had finally reached the age to be eligible for the exams along with Trey. The both of them had pushed themselves for this day, while Asuka, Matt and Lisa were more content working inside the Garden as staff members. Things started to seem to be finally coming to a close in Shizuma’s mind as he figured if he could get into SeeD, the doorway to finally meeting his family would be available to him. Taking to the exams with nothing else on his mind beside victory, Shizuma succeeded and was filled with joy in becoming a SeeD. Yet, his tears of joy would be turned to tragedy a few hours after his triumph at the ceremony to congratulate all graduates.
Arriving at the ceremony ball, Shizuma found all of his friends except for Asuka. He had talked with her a few hours before suiting up in his new SeeD attire, and thought things were fine until he couldn’t see her anywhere. His other friends had not seen her either until the lights had dimmed in the room to start the dance. A special spotlight had dropped in the middle of the room with a strange warrior named Ezorex, grasping a lifeless Asuka in his hand. He had chosen this ceremony to announce his intentions to start a war against Balamb and any other power that wished to stop him. Having dropped Asuka’s cold form to the equally icy ground, Shizuma’s heart sank instantly along with her hitting the floor. The Kamira clansman immediately rushed to her side and rested her head gently on his lap as he crouched down to try and wake her up. Looking up to see the man responsible smile after issuing a challenge to the powers assembled at the ceremony and vanishing just as easily as he arrived, Shizuma shook with uncontrollable rage. Having lost a childhood friend he cherished on such an important day of his life, Shizuma could only focus on avenging Asuka’s death before he could do anything else.
Pushing himself to his absolute limits, Shizuma managed to reach Ezorex with other warriors fighting just as hard alongside him for reasons of their own. Unfortunately, he was unable to defeat his friend’s killer and watched as the murderer had escaped before his very eyes. The devastated Kamira clansman went into a depressed state, having to acknowledge the fact he was not only too weak to avenge Asuka’s death, but his clan also was not impressed with these turn of events. He had returned back to Garden, unable to look his three friends in the eyes in his failure, thus beginning the strain on his relationships within Balamb. Although he wished to be left alone, the Headmaster wanted his new recruit to get a fresh start with a new partner he thought would help ease Shizuma’s mind. Thus starting a new chapter in Shizuma’s journey onto a darker path…
Shizuma had been teamed up with a young woman named Rayne, who was to become his partner on his first official Seed mission for Balamb. They were to go to Esthar to assess the situation of the land and report back to Headmaster Cid. Not wanting to get too attached to anyone else so soon, Shizuma found himself doing just that anyways despite his attempts not too. Sharing his story with Rayne and hearing her past and concerns too put them on equal terms, as he felt it would be best to at least start off his new partnership on friendly terms. However once they arrived in Esthar, things made a drastic turn for the worse as the situation was way more complicated than the Headmaster had originally explained. The Sorceress Adel was awake and not only was she in the process of taking over Esthar, she had captured Rayne and put Shizuma in a tough ultimatum. Trying to bargain with the Sorceress, Shizuma ended up pledging his allegiance to Adel in exchange for the safety of his partner, who he couldn’t bear to lose the same way he had lost Asuka. However, swearing on his clan’s name would not be enough to prove how loyal he would be to his new Mistress; he would need to pay his way through blood.
Slaughtering innocent Estharians of all ages for the new regime that Sorceress Adel would bring to her old domain was not an easy task for Shizuma, but he did go through with it. With each swing of his gunblade, each life taken, the young man convinced himself his decision to turn his back on the light was the right choice. He had lived his young life with good intentions in his heart, hoping the world would answer him in kind with similar aspirations, but found reality to be far too cruel and cold to continue to abide by the rules. Embracing his new ruthless role, Shizuma cut ties with Headmaster Cid and Balamb’s SeeD and finalized his betrayal by becoming the leader of Sorceress Adel’s own personal guard, the Black SeeD. He would take the most of this opportunity to learn from her and continue to excel in his own personal ambition of being recognized by his clan and confronting them. After all, someone would have to answer for the trials he had been put through and why not the people who decided his fate for him originally. He not only wanted the Kamira name to be feared across the land, he wanted to be the most legendary of his clan.
PRESENT TIME Returning from a successful first raid of his old home of Balamb Garden, Shizuma didn’t have much time to celebrate his first victory as the leader of the Black SeeD. In his exploration of Esthar’s technology wing on Sorceress Adel’s behalf, Shizuma fell into a trap set up by rebels of Adel’s rule to get her. Being tossed through a mysterious gate, Shizuma found himself drifting subconsciously through a space time warp until he was finally released into a completely different but still familiar world of Gaia, an entire year older. He maintained the items he had upon his investigation, but his memory was a total mess of scattered fragments, only coming to him in vivid nightmares when he would sleep or perhaps spot a familiar object or person while awake.
Shizuma maintained his same work ethic to strengthen himself as the only thing he could remember he liked to do, for what reason he could not grasp yet. He has taken up residence in Esthar, training in solitude for the most part as he tries to gather his thoughts. Being weary of exploring the large city right away due to his intense dreams, he bides his time locked away in his room until he feels he’s ready to face his fears and try to uncover his past.
Roleplay Sample:
Unstable was an understatement in the mind of a young man who had no idea how he became like this. All of his memories felt like a giant puzzle that someone had built to perfection and then decided to smash it all with a hammer until none of the pieces would fit with one another again. It had been a few weeks since he had gained consciousness, after picking himself up from hitting the ground hard out of some sort of weird portal. At least, that’s how the locals had described the phenomenon as they witnessed the blonde youth seemingly appear out of nowhere. He was appreciative of their support at first, but in the back of his mind he wanted to stay away from them. His intuition was screaming at him to keep his distance, but he couldn’t place why he felt as if he didn’t deserve their compassion or why he felt they should normally be hostile towards him whether openly or secretly.
He recognized this place as the city of Esthar, a technologically gifted area that was well known for its advanced gadgetry and secrecy. It was a place he felt he had spent some time in, but it didn’t quite feel like home to him. The feeling he had upon looking up at the greyed skies overhead was that he had to stay here regardless, to make it feel like it was his new home. These uneasy notions that clung to his mind upon looking over the city on one of its many bridges, leading to their special lifts, bothered him greatly. He desperately wanted to make sense of it all, wanted someone who truly recognized him to tell him he was in the right place. Leaning on the rails, Shizuma sighed deepy before resting his head on his crossed arms on the neon glowing rail.
Off in the distance he could hear the sound of children running by and seemingly enjoying themselves. He didn’t bother to lift his head as he could feel the vibrations of them rushing past him, mostly likely to head up to the shopping district ahead. The pitter patter of steps had mostly passed him by except for one as he felt a slight tug at his left pant leg from tiny hands. The Kamira clansmen merely grunted from under his crossed arms to try and scare off the child to no avail. He felt them back off a bit, but not leave his side.
“A-are you alright…Mister?” an adorably sweet voice spoke up to break the silence, besides the sound of machinery whirring along as background noise. She couldn’t have been a day over five years old and oddly enough hearing such a young voice put his mind at ease for some reason.
A smile began to trace his lips before he shifted his weight off the rail to actually face the young girl and get a look at her. He put his right hand down on the rail to support his frame and looked down to his left to see the child returning a smile of relief back at him.
She barely came up to his waist in height and had cute auburn-colored pigtails that framed her face. He noticed she even had freckles on her cheeks before he made contact with her large green eyes. Instantly Shizuma’s vision shifted as he pictured the same girl with blood splattered not only all over her face but her tiny dress as well. Lying at her feet were the bodies of others that seemed too numerous to count in his peripherals, but clearly slain individuals. He could see tears washing over the crimson liquid which coated her cheeks, pleading to him for answers of why this horrific scene had come to pass. Answers half of his heart wanted to tell her, perhaps even hug her tightly to give her some warmth that the cold bodies at her feet could not provide, but his other half seemed shut off to the whole scene. Almost as if he was only one arm raise away followed by a brutal downward swing to adding her to the count, a thought that made the swordsman grasp his forehead with his left hand and back into the rail that supported him.
“M-mister? Do you--“ the little one began as she inched forward a bit until Shizuma’s right eye shot open to stare her down.
“..Stay away from me…” he growled through clenched teeth as it appeared he had been hit by a major migraine almost of the blue. She took a step back at first, hesitant with fear in Shizuma’s change in mood as he seemed content until they locked eyes. The knight could see her fidgeting from keeping her distance and heeding his wishes, which made him snap even more.
“Are you deaf!? Get the hell out of here!!” Shizuma shouted down to her, slicing at the air between them with his left arm that previously clutched his visage. It was more than enough to scare the child as she stumbled backwards to the ground before she scrambled to her feet and ran to her friends who watched the scene from the lift, urging her to hurry onto it. Some of the boys of the group shouted insults towards the Kamira clansman as the young girl reunited with her group; the lift making its way up to the shopping district and far away from him.
His heart was beating fast to match his rising and falling chest as he tried to slow the adrenaline rushing through his veins and calm his body. He took the insults and slowly turned back around to lay his arms and head down on the railing to collect his self as best he could. It wasn’t frequent for those flashes to appear to him, but often enough that it was beginning to drive him mad. He thought he was somewhat ready to leave the residence he held himself up in today, but he was obviously wrong. What was the cause of those vivid hallucinations or were they memories his mind was trying to suppress from his consciousness? He would see similar things in his dreams as well, that left him waking in cold sweat as he tried to make sense of them.
There seemed to be no end to the questions that would fall into his lap. Was he some sort of crazed killer who only recently began to feel remorse for past deeds or was he just only a witness to so many scenes of death? There was only one thing that kept him moving, focused enough to the point where whatever these visions he had did not disturb him and that was his desire to become strong. To have the strength to not be paralyzed with fear or rage or to have that horrible feeling of needing to rely on others to struggle onwards.
If he had not come to Esthar alone originally, he had to accept the reality that he was on his own now. The people here didn’t seem to want his head either, despite part of his mind screaming at him otherwise. Pushing off from the rail, Shizuma backed up a few paces looking out on the horizon before his hands slid into his jacket’s pockets. His right hand could feel the embroidered patch symbolizing Esthar, nestled inside his jacket as his thumb gently grazed over the design. Turning the opposite way of the lift that lead to the shopping district, the Kamira clansman felt he traveled enough of the city today to test his limits and how long he could go without triggering something in his mind.
He would return back to his makeshift home, eyes opened slightly enough to see where he was going but not nearly enough for him to make out things clearly. Any effort he could make to keep the rest of his day stress free he would take, however he knew once his eyes would close for sleep later on…all bets were off.
