Cetra Continent (3 sub-boards) The northern most continent is home to one of the wonders of Gaia, the Northern Crater. This continent is home to the kingdoms of Figaro as well as the Wizards of Mysidia.
Balamb Island (1 sub-board) Balamb island is a relatively peaceful island and home to Balamb Garden a renowned school, and protected by the Balamb Garden's elite mercenary force known as Seed. Balamb garden have recently lifted their border control policy on pupils and are now accepting applicants from other continents.
Crescent Continent (1 sub-board) Shaped like a crescent, this continent houses the ronkan ruins. Powered by the Earth crystal, all soil is fertile even when not cared for making it perfect for farming. To the south lies the black chocobo's forest.
Esthar Continent (1 sub-board) Esthar is one of the more advanced continents in Gaia, with a very futuristic look and feel it advances in technology and space travel. Esthar is now ruled by Laguna, after he entrapped Sorceress Adel in space.
Galbadia Continent (1 sub-board) Sorceress Blue now controls Galbadia, which untied under her rule, with the many troubles caused by president Deling being solved. Galbadia has a vast rail network that connects to Balamb and Esthar and is slowly becoming a powerful nation once again.
Lost Continent (2 sub-boards) This is the land of wonders and mysteries, actively fighting against technology and perceptions to protect the mysteries it holds. Half of this continent belongs to the Arcadian Empire.
Midgar Continent (1 sub-board) Like Esthar, Midgar prides itself on its technological advancements but is still behind Esthar in that sense. Using a certain process Midgar uses mako to power the continent, this has angered many citiziens causing resistance groups to spring up to rebel against the company Shinra.
Mist Continent (3 sub-boards) A continent covered alomst completely in a monster spawning making the low lying lands of this continent almost uninhabitable. It contains the 4 seperate states of Alexandria, Lindblum, Burmecia and Cleyra which are commonly known as the Mist Quartet.
The Veldt (1 sub-board) The Veldt is a wild land, covered mostly by untamed and most unexplored terrain with nearly all of its settlements being on the coastline of the continent as many powerful fiends roam the land.
Yevon Continent (3 sub-boards) This large continent and island chain is located to the south of gaia and is home to the Spiran fiend called Sin which has laid waste to Spira for centuries, on this continent is also the ruins of Zanarkand and the Machine City of Vector is located on the furthest most reaches of Zanarkand.
Planet Terra (1 sub-board) The dead planet of the Genomes, ruled by Garland seeking to absorb Gaia in an attempt to resurrect the lifestream of the dead world. Terra is a dangerous place and inhospitable to Gaian people.

Cocoon Law and Order reign on Cocoon whilst on the land known as Pulse to the inhabitants, there is a deadly race know as l'Cie roaming below waiting to take their chance to strike.
No place on Gaia is safe. The magic within Gaia has become disturbed which has caused Shinra to send every available man possible to discover the cause. Summoners across Spira sense a change in the magic balance as their aeons call out to them to defeat Sin quickly. Sorceress Blue and every powerful mage can feel their power weakening with each passing day. With Gaia's magic unstable every leader on Gaia should be working together to figure out this madness, but when power and greed are involved it never works out that way. And so begins the Continent Wars. Everyone has to make a choice of which side to choose and no one can hide from the events about to unfold on Gaia.
- An earthquake hits Balamb causing significant damage to Balamb Garden & Balamb Centre.
- Nibelheim was burnt down to the ground by Kefka and Exdeath
- The Arcadian Empire has taken over the Cetra Region.
- Sephiroth went insane and slaughtered half of the Shinra Staff.
- Dollet was completely destroyed and glassed, all that remains is the Radio Tower.
- Galbadia Missile Base was destroyed.
- Galbadia has a military outpost outside of the Midgar capital.
- Sorcerress Blue has unified Galbadia due to the events at Dollet.
- Galbadia Garden has been forced to close down.
- Bikanel Island was nuked.
- Vector expanded into Zanarkand.
- Cocoon discovered by President Laguna.
- Zack Fair, Lucrecia Crescent & President Shinra are dead.
